TLDR: With EA Sports FC 27 launching globally on September 25, 2026 (Ultimate Edition early access from September 18), you have roughly four weeks left before your FC 26 club, coins and untradeable cards stop mattering. That changes which SBCs are worth doing. The best value right now is the Ultimate Rewind Player Pick SBC (~125,000 coins per attempt for a 97–99 card from a 500+ pool), followed by any live Icon SBCs and the marquee Leão (99) / Neymar (97) player SBCs if you need that exact position. Skip expensive fodder-hungry picks if your storage is already full — you will not get the value back before the reset.

Why does the FC 27 launch date change which SBCs to do?
Every coin, every untradeable special card and every SBC-locked player in EA Sports FC 26 dies the moment FC 27 takes over. EA has confirmed the worldwide FC 27 release date as September 25, 2026, with up to seven days of early access for Ultimate Edition and Ultimate Plus buyers starting September 18, 2026. Your FC 26 Ultimate Team does not carry into the new title — you keep your FUT Club history and specific FC 27 carryover rewards (kits, badges and the like), but your player cards, coins and squads do not transfer.
That single fact flips the entire "is this SBC worth it?" calculation. Earlier in the cycle, a 1.5M-coin SBC could be justified because you would enjoy the card for months. In late August, you are buying roughly four weeks of use — and that is it. So the question is no longer "is this card good?" It is "will I actually field this card in Rivals, Champions or Rush before the reset — and is there a cheaper way to get the same benefit?"
This guide ranks the SBCs still live in FC 26's Ultimate Rewind end-of-season event by real, deadline-adjusted value, so you spend your last coins on squads you will play, not fodder you will lose.
What is the Ultimate Rewind SBC lineup in FC 26?
Ultimate Rewind went live on August 21, 2026 as FC 26's farewell promo, recycling the season's biggest campaigns — Ultimate Scream, Knockout Royalty, Joga Bonito and more — into a final wave of content. Per EA's official Ultimate Rewind pitch notes:
"Ultimate Rewind also delivers daily Squad Building Challenges throughout the week, cycling through campaigns from across the Football Ultimate Team season, alongside three marquee SBCs that revisit past favourites." — EA SPORTS FC, Ultimate Rewind news post (August 14, 2026)
On top of the SBCs, EA has pushed more than 500 FUTTIES players back into packs, and the PlayStyle Lab now lets every Player Item receive up to a fifth PlayStyle+ with all OVR and rarity entry requirements removed. In practice that means the value of a new SBC card is partly in what you can do to it in the Lab — a reason to favour cards you will keep in your XI over throwaway pack filler.
Here is how the live SBC menu stacks up for the run-in to FC 27.
Which SBCs are actually worth completing before FC 27?
1. Ultimate Rewind Player Pick SBC — best value gamble
The recurring Rewind Player Pick SBC costs around 125,000 coins per attempt and returns a card from the full Rewind pool — over 500 items rated up to 97–99. It is, mechanically, the same idea as the FUTTIES and FOF picks players ground all summer: a repeatable, medium-cost lottery with a genuinely high ceiling.
For most players this is the single best place to put your last coins. Roughly 125k for a shot at a 97–99 you will actually use beats sinking 1M+ into one locked position. As one FUT player put it about the current pick: "it's basically the same as doing the futties/fof pick and was hoping [I] could snag Doku or Vitinha for cheap." The catch is dupes — if you have chased picks all season, you will hit repeats. Do it while you still have fodder and a squad slot to fill, not for the tenth time.
If you need coins to feed these picks safely, our end-of-cycle coin methods guide covers the fastest legit routes with under a month left.
2. Live Icon SBCs — the only "keeper" tier left
Base Icon and Icon/Hero pick SBCs are the closest thing to a safe investment in a dying cycle. A 94+ GOTG/FUTTIES Icon & Hero Pick pool has included 99-rated legends like Ronaldinho, Maradona, Thierry Henry and Mia Hamm — cards good enough to headline a final-month squad. Icons hold up across positions and chemistry, so if one is live and you have the loose fodder, it is the SBC most likely to earn its cost in wins before September 25.
Value rule: only chase an Icon SBC if the fodder is already in your club. Buying 30 rare golds off the market at end-of-cycle inflated prices to complete a card you field for four weeks is where players quietly lose 300k for nothing.
3. Marquee player SBCs (Leão 99, Neymar 97) — position-specific only
Ultimate Rewind's headline player SBCs are premium and narrow. The Neymar Jr Glory Hunter is a 97 LW at roughly 1.1M–1.6M coins, and the Rafael Leão Joga Bonito is a 99-rated forward (LW) at a similar tier. These are excellent cards — but at over a million coins for four weeks of use, they are only worth it if that exact position is a genuine hole in your XI and you are coin-rich. Everyone else gets more football out of one Icon SBC plus a couple of Player Picks for the same spend.
4. Daily Rewind + campaign SBCs — cheap pack and objective fuel
The daily SBCs cycling through past campaigns are low-cost and fast, usually solvable with idle fodder for a small pack or a Rewind token. They will not transform your squad, but they are the right home for cards clogging your storage. Clearing your bench into daily SBCs before the reset is pure upside — those duplicates are worth nothing on September 25.
5. Upgrade SBCs (85+, 86+ Player Picks) — marginal now
Rating-upgrade SBCs (85+, 86+ picks) are cheap but their reward ceiling is low, and at this point in the cycle a mid-80s pull rarely makes your team. Do them only if the requirement is basically free fodder you would otherwise discard.

Which SBCs should you skip before FC 27?
- Any expensive tradeable-loss SBC where the completion cost is well above what the reward would sell for — with no time to recoup, you are simply setting coins on fire.
- Fodder-hungry premium picks when your storage is full. A live FUT complaint captures it exactly: the top pick "asks for almost all my fodder," and completing it repeatedly for dupes is a bad trade this close to the end.
- Grinding SBC fodder you will not use. If you are farming packs, do it deliberately — see our safe SBC fodder grind guide — but do not stockpile fodder you have no SBC to spend on before the reset.
- Hoarding coins "for later." There is no later. Coins do not carry to FC 27, so an unspent balance on September 25 is a wasted season. If you are unsure how much to keep, read spend or save coins before FC 27.
How should you spend your last coins in FC 26?
Think in weeks of use, not card ratings. A simple priority order for the final stretch:
- Fill real squad holes with a Player Pick or a live Icon SBC — cards you will start every game.
- Empty your club into daily and campaign SBCs before duplicates become worthless.
- Play the modes that still pay you — Rivals and Champions rewards are your last coin faucet. If you want the rank rewards without the grind, a FUT Champions boost locks in Elite-tier packs before the cycle closes.
- Zero out your balance on things you enjoy — no coin should survive the reset unspent.
The players who "win" the end of a FUT cycle are not the ones with the biggest coin pile on launch day. They are the ones who converted every coin into wins, packs and cards they actually used.

FAQ
What SBCs should I do before FC 27 launches? Prioritise the Ultimate Rewind Player Pick SBC (~125,000 coins for a 97–99 card), any live Icon SBC if you already have the fodder, and the marquee Leão or Neymar SBCs only if you need that exact position. Skip expensive tradeable-loss SBCs and dupe-prone picks when your storage is full — there is no time to recoup the coins before the September 25, 2026 reset.
When does FC 27 come out and does my FC 26 team carry over? EA Sports FC 27 launches worldwide on September 25, 2026, with early access from September 18 for Ultimate and Ultimate Plus editions. Your FC 26 coins, player cards and squads do not transfer — you keep club history and some loyalty/cosmetic progress, but Ultimate Team resets, which is why unspent coins on launch day are wasted.
Is the Ultimate Rewind Player Pick SBC worth it? Yes, for most players it is the best value SBC live. At about 125,000 coins per attempt for a card rated up to 97–99 from a 500+ pool, it beats sinking a million coins into a single locked position. The main risk is duplicates if you have chased picks all season, so complete it while you still have a squad slot to fill.
Are the Leão and Neymar Rewind SBCs worth over a million coins? Only if that exact position is a real weakness in your XI and you are coin-rich. Both are elite cards, but at 1M+ coins for roughly four weeks of use before FC 27, most players get more football from one Icon SBC plus a couple of Player Picks for the same spend.
Should I save my coins for FC 27 instead? No — coins do not carry over to FC 27, so hoarding a balance means starting the new game with nothing to show for it. Spend down to zero on cards, picks and packs you will use, and rely on Rivals and Champions rewards for your last income before launch.
