Season 1 of EA SPORTS FC 27 went live on Thursday, 17 September 2026 — before console early access even opened on 18 September. The Season Pass clock is already running for everyone, including people who have not launched Ultimate Team yet.
Here is the part nobody says out loud on day one: the Season 1 pass is mathematically tighter than it looks. Match play alone, at a perfect daily cap, every single day for five weeks, does not quite reach Level 30. That single fact should shape how you spend early access.
TL;DR — the quick answers
- Current FC 27 phase: Season 1: Ones to Watch is live (started 17 September 2026), console early access opened 18 September, worldwide launch is still 25 September.
- Season 1 runs 17 September to 22 October 2026 — 35 days, the shortest season of the five EA has dated.
- Matches pay 15–100 Season Points each, capped at 850 SP per day. Those are EA's own published numbers.
- Level 30 costs roughly 30,000 SP by community tracker counts — about 857 SP per day, which is above the match cap. Objectives are not optional.
- The Premium track hands 5,000 SP back (2,500 at Level 11, 2,500 at Level 25), which is the real reason it feels faster.
- Premium Pass price: 1,000 FC Points or 500,000 Coins, unless it came with your edition.
- The Ultimate Edition's free Season 1 Premium Pass is pre-order-only. That is why yours may be missing.

What is the FC 27 Season Pass, and what changed for Season 1?
The Season Pass is FC 27's 30-level reward ladder. You earn Season Points (SP) by playing, each level unlocks something, and there are two parallel tracks: the free one EA calls the Standard Ladder in its Pitch Notes and labels "Regular Pass" in-game, and the Premium Pass that either came with your edition or has to be bought.
The most important structural detail, carried over from FC 26 and unchanged so far: both tracks read from the same SP bar. Buying Premium does not give you a separate, faster progression line — it unlocks a second column of rewards next to the levels you were going to hit anyway, and it retroactively hands you everything you already passed. Buy it at Level 18 and Levels 1–18 of the Premium column drop immediately.
Season 1 is themed Ones to Watch, the live-upgrade promo where cards gain +1 OVR for every Team of the Week, Star Performer or Player of the Month inclusion, plus a one-time +1 if their club wins three of its next six domestic league matches from 18 September. EA's Season 1 article describes the pass as carrying "up to 13 Ones to Watch Player Items" across the two tracks. Count the names on EA's published reward-track graphics and you will land on more than that, because several levels offer an Ones to Watch item or a pack instead — treat the graphics as the authority on which level gives what. If you are new to the promo mechanic itself, the Ones to Watch upgrade rules and dates are a separate rabbit hole.
SP is earned across Ultimate Team, Clubs and Career Mode, so the ladder is a whole-game grind rather than a FUT-only one.
When does Season 1 end, and when do Seasons 2 to 5 start?
EA published the full calendar in its Launch Rewards article on 17 September 2026. Five seasons are dated through to April 2027:
| Season | Start | End |
|---|---|---|
| Season 1 — Ones to Watch | 17 September 2026 | 22 October 2026 |
| Season 2 | 22 October 2026 | 3 December 2026 |
| Season 3 | 3 December 2026 | 14 January 2027 |
| Season 4 | 14 January 2027 | 25 February 2027 |
| Season 5 | 25 February 2027 | 8 April 2027 |
Season 1 is the short one at 35 days; the rest run roughly six weeks. Community trackers put the precise cut-off at 06:59 UTC on 22 October, the usual FUT rollover time, though EA has only published the date. Do not plan to finish in the final hour.
How many Season Points do you need for all 30 levels?
This is where the launch-window planning happens. EA's Launch Update Pitch Notes, published 14 September 2026, state it plainly:
"You'll also earn between 15 & 100 Season Points per eligible match depending on result and mode, up to 850 Season Points per day."
Take that at face value and run the numbers across the season:
| Metric | Figure |
|---|---|
| Season 1 length | 35 days |
| Match SP daily cap | 850 SP |
| Maximum match SP for the whole season | 29,750 SP |
| Community-tracked SP needed for Level 30 | ~30,000 SP |
| Shortfall from matches alone | ~250 SP |
| Implied daily requirement | ~857 SP per day |
Read that table twice. A player who hits the 850 SP match cap on all 35 days — no missed days, no holidays, no server outages — still finishes a couple of hundred points short of Level 30. The pass is deliberately built so that objectives are load-bearing, not a bonus.
Two honest caveats. The ~30,000 figure comes from community trackers reading the in-game ladder, not from EA, which has never published an SP-per-level table. And EA attaches the 850 cap specifically to per-match earning, without saying whether objective SP counts inside or outside it. Until that is clarified, do not build a plan that depends on the answer — build one that banks SP early.
The practical read: every skipped day is capped SP you cannot get back, and there is no catch-up mechanic. Seven days of early access at the cap is 5,950 SP, roughly a fifth of the pass, available only to people playing right now.
What are all 30 Season Pass rewards in FC 27?
EA published both Season 1 reward tracks in full in its Launch Update Pitch Notes. Here they are transcribed side by side.

| 28 | 83+ x5 | EVO or 84+ x3 |
| 29 | 84+ x4 | 85+ Double |
| 30 | Ones to Watch: Ferran Torres or 84+ x5 | Ones to Watch: Yan Diomandé or 84+ x4 |
Three things jump out of that table.
The Premium track pays SP back. Level 11 and Level 25 each return 2,500 Season Points into the same shared bar — 5,000 SP, roughly one-sixth of the pass, recycled. That is the actual reason Premium owners cross the finish line comfortably while free players are grinding objectives in the final week.
Level 7 gives both players, not a pick. EA's graphic reads "Ones to Watch: Nicole Anyomi & Maxence Lacroix" with an ampersand. Compare Levels 3, 9, 22 and 30 on the same track, which read "or" — those are genuine either/or choices. Same logic on the Standard ladder: Level 10 is Senß and Tzolis — EA's Season 1 article confirms both names at that level in prose. This has caused a lot of confusion in the first 24 hours and the answer is sitting in EA's own artwork.
The Standard track backloads. The first guaranteed 82+ pack is Level 14, and 83+ and 84+ packs only start stacking from Level 23. Stall at Level 20 as a free player and you have left most of the value on the table. The best coins-per-hour mode breakdown matters more for you than for a Premium owner.
Is the Premium Pass worth 500,000 coins or 1,000 FC Points?
Community trackers list the FC 27 Premium Pass at 1,000 FC Points or 500,000 Coins, the same dual price FC 26 used. EA has not published a standalone price page, so treat the figures as tracker-sourced until they appear in your own store tab.
Before you decide, know what the packs are actually worth. EA's Rarity and Pack Changes table puts a Gold player item's quick sell value at 533–646 coins and a Gold non-player item at 150 coins. A stack of "82+ x4" style rewards is not half a million coins of value on its own — the case for Premium rests on the Ones to Watch items, the Player Picks and the SP rebate, not on pack volume.
The two prices are not remotely equivalent in week one:
- 1,000 FC Points costs roughly $8.30 at the best US bulk store rate; regional stores vary. That is a cheap gate for eight Ones to Watch player items across six levels, nine Player Picks, three Evolution rewards, 30k coins and 5,000 SP back.
- 500,000 Coins in early access is enormous. Most clubs are nowhere near half a million coins in week one, and spending it here means not buying the squad that actually wins you matches.
So the honest verdict: if you are paying with points, it is one of the better-value purchases in the mode this season, mostly because of the 5,000 SP rebate and the Player Pick density between Levels 16 and 21. If you are paying with coins in week one, it is a bad trade — the same 500,000 coins invested in a squad that can actually qualify for FUT Champions generates more than the pass gives you back.
One nuance makes the decision easier: because Premium unlocks retroactively, there is no penalty for waiting. Play two weeks, see where your SP curve lands, buy at Level 15 if you still want it, and everything you passed drops at once. The only cost of waiting is the compounding effect of the Level 11 SP rebate.

Why has your Premium Pass not appeared if you bought Ultimate Edition?
This is the single biggest complaint on the FC 27 subreddits right now, and for most people it is not a bug.
EA's Launch Rewards article lists the Season 1 Premium Pass as an Ultimate Edition reward — with an asterisk reading "Available only for Pre-Orders". Ultimate Plus includes Premium Passes for all five seasons, Ultimate includes Season 1 only, and that entitlement is tied to having pre-ordered rather than to buying the edition after launch. If you bought Ultimate on 17 or 18 September, the game asking you for 1,000 FC Points is working as EA documented.
The same asterisk pattern runs through the rewards table. The 85+ International ICON Pack carries a stricter one — pre-orders placed by 31 August 2026 — and was granted on 18 September. If you are chasing several missing items, the full pre-order rewards grant-date breakdown lists what lands when.
If you did pre-order Ultimate and the pass still is not there: confirm you are on the same platform and EA Account as the pre-order, restart the title fully, and give it a few hours. Launch-window grants are queued, not instant.
What is the fastest way to earn Season Points right now?
EA has not published per-mode SP tables, so anyone giving you an exact points-per-match figure is guessing. What is confirmed is the shape: 15 to 100 SP per eligible match, varying by result and mode, capped at 850 SP a day.
That shape has clear consequences:
- Play every day, not in long sessions. A daily cap punishes weekend binging. Forty minutes a day beats six hours on Sunday.
- Wins matter more than volume. With a 15–100 spread, the gap between losing and winning is worth more than squeezing in an extra match. Squad Battles on a beatable difficulty convert more reliably than Rivals matches you lose.
- Clear objectives first, matches second. Since match SP alone cannot reach Level 30, the objective board is the part of the grind with headroom. The early-access exclusives — the A.F.C. Richmond vanity items, the Evolution Consumable, and the formation-based Tactical Trials objectives — expire with the early-access window.
- Do not neglect Evolutions. The pass hands out EVO bundles at Premium Levels 14, 26 and 28 and a cosmetic bundle on the free track at 27, and a well-chosen pathway turns a Level 12 Player Pick into a squad piece. The day-one Evolutions and pathways guide covers which ones are worth the slot.
- Spread across modes. SP is earned in Ultimate Team, Clubs and Career Mode — the Season Points counter sits in the top corner of the Manager Live Hub too, not just the FUT hub. If you are capped out on enjoyment in FUT, Career Mode matches still move the bar. The end-of-match rewards breakdown covers how match coins and SP are paid out per fixture.
Which mistakes are costing people levels in the first 24 hours?
Claiming rewards from the wrong mode. Several players have reported selecting a specific Season Pass player item, claiming it while sitting in Career Mode, and receiving a generic pack in that mode instead of the item they picked — with support unable to reverse it. Claim Ultimate Team rewards from inside Ultimate Team. Every time.
Assuming Premium speeds up the bar. It does not. It adds a second reward column to the same progression. If you buy it expecting to level faster, the only speed-up you get is the 5,000 SP handed back at Levels 11 and 25.
Skipping days in early access. The daily cap means unplayed days are permanently gone. This is the one mistake that cannot be fixed later.
Grinding a broken objective. Some formation-based Tactical Trials objectives have been reported as not tracking correctly on day one. If one is stuck, move to another rather than replaying the same match — an objective that does not register still costs you the time.
Forgetting the season overlaps the release date. Season 1 started on 17 September but the game launches worldwide on 25 September 2026. Anyone buying at launch is already eight days into a 35-day pass, and there is no pro-rating.
FAQ
When does the FC 27 Season 1 Season Pass end? Thursday, 22 October 2026, per EA's published calendar. Community trackers put the exact cut-off at 06:59 UTC that day.
How many levels does the FC 27 Season Pass have? Thirty, on both the Standard (Regular) and Premium tracks.
How much SP do you need for Level 30? Community trackers put it at roughly 30,000 Season Points. EA has not published an official SP-per-level table.
Can you reach Level 30 from matches alone? Not quite. At EA's 850 SP daily cap across 35 days you top out at 29,750 SP, which is short of the tracked ~30,000 requirement. Objectives cover the gap.
How much is the FC 27 Premium Pass? Community trackers list it at 1,000 FC Points or 500,000 Coins, unless it is included with your edition.
Does the Premium Pass make you level up faster? No. Both tracks share the same SP progression. The Premium track does return 2,500 SP at Level 11 and 2,500 SP at Level 25, which indirectly shortens the grind.
Does buying the Premium Pass late lose you rewards? No. It unlocks retroactively — everything on the Premium column up to your current level is granted immediately.
Why is the Premium Pass missing from my Ultimate Edition? EA's rewards table marks the Ultimate Edition Season 1 Premium Pass as available only for pre-orders. Buying Ultimate after launch does not include it.
Does Season Pass progress carry into Season 2? No. Levels reset when Season 2 begins on 22 October 2026. Unclaimed rewards should be claimed before the rollover.
Do the Level 7 rewards give both players or a pick? Both. EA's Season 1 article states the Premium Pass "contains the London City Lionesses' Nicole Anyomi and Chelsea Defender Maxence Lacroix at Level 7", and the reward-track graphic joins them with an ampersand, unlike the levels that explicitly say "or".
Season 1 runs to 22 October 2026 and every unplayed day is capped SP you cannot recover.
