FC 27 Update 1.1: SBC Filters Fixed, but No Gameplay Nerf

FC 27 update 1.1 is scheduled for 27 October 2026, and its most useful Ultimate Team change is persistent Streamlined SBC filters—not a gameplay rebalance. EA SPORTS FC 27 is in Season 2: FC Heritage. The new Pitch Notes outline improvements to squad management, pack reveals, Career settings and several bugs, while explicitly ruling out gameplay balance or tuning changes in this update.

This guide ranks the changes by practical value, explains what the SBC fix does and does not protect, and gives you a short checklist before spending coins or changing your team. Information is checked against EA's 26 October preview. The complete patch notes are scheduled for 27 October, so this is a guide to confirmed preview changes, not a claim that every fix is already documented or live.

Quick answer: FC 27 update 1.1 is due on 27 October. Streamlined SBC filters and sorting will persist between Challenges during the same play session, but reset when you close the game. Higher-OVR pack reveals will be shorter. EA confirms no gameplay balance or tuning changes in v1.1; further Gameplay Developer Notes are due later this week. Do not sell your squad because someone calls this a new-meta patch.

When does FC 27 update 1.1 release, and is it live now?

EA's Title Update v1.1 Pitch Notes state that release is planned for 27 October 2026. The article was published on 26 October. At this guide's publication, that makes it an upcoming update rather than a confirmed completed rollout.

The preview does not give an exact deployment time, download size, maintenance duration or platform-by-platform schedule. Do not turn a familiar daily content-reset time into an invented patch-release time. Check your platform's update notification and EA's official status channels when the rollout begins.

There are three separate things to watch:

AnnouncementTiming stated by EAWhat it establishes
Title Update v1.1 Pitch Notes preview26 October 2026The highlighted changes discussed here
v1.1 release and complete Patch Notes27 October 2026Deployment target and the fuller fix list
Further Gameplay Developer NotesLater this weekDiscussion of potential adjustments for the next Title Update

That last row is important. The Developer Notes are not the same thing as v1.1, and EA has not supplied an exact release date for the following Title Update in this preview. A discussion of potential adjustments is not a published balance changelog.

Which FC 27 update 1.1 changes matter most?

For an Ultimate Team player, our ranking is SBC workflow first, clearer team management second, shorter pack reveals third. Career-only players should move the new settings and negotiation improvements to the top. This is an editorial usefulness ranking, not a claim that EA assigns priorities in this order.

PriorityChangeWho benefitsImportant limitation
1Streamlined SBC filter and sorting persistencePlayers completing several Challenges in a sessionClosing the game resets the settings
2Team Management layout overhaulPlayers using the affected menus across multiple modesA visual redesign is not a universal bug-fix promise
3Shorter reveal animations for most higher-OVR itemsPlayers opening packsEA does not say pack contents improve
4Career settings and negotiation changesManager and Player Career usersSome reported Career issues remain under investigation
5Grounds, Clubs and gameplay bug fixesPlayers hitting the specific listed problemsThese are not balance or tuning changes

EA explicitly says the Team Management work is across multiple modes. Its screenshots illustrate squad and Career-style screens; they do not prove that every FUT team-management complaint has been resolved. Treat each fix as narrowly as EA describes it.

How do the Streamlined SBC filters work after the update?

The central change is that your filter and sorting settings carry between Challenges throughout your current play session. EA is addressing the need to repeat your filter setup for each Challenge. Its wording is precise:

EA says: “Filter and sorting settings in Streamlined SBCs are now remembered across Challenges throughout your play session and reset to default only when the game is closed.”

That quote comes from the Streamlined SBC Improvements section. Because the update is still upcoming at publication, the practical reading is “this is the announced v1.1 behaviour,” not “your installed game must already do it.”

Tip 1: recheck your filter after every fresh launch

The improvement is session persistence, not permanent account-wide preferences. If you close the game and return later, EA says the settings reset. Your first Challenge after relaunch therefore still needs a deliberate setup check.

Do not assume that returning to the menu and closing the application mean the same thing. EA ties the reset to closing the game; it does not describe every suspend, reconnect or companion-app case in this announcement. If you switch devices or clients, inspect what is actually selected rather than assuming the state carried over.

Tip 2: recheck the selected items before submitting

Remembered sorting helps you work consistently, but it is not an item-protection system. The preview does not announce an undo button, automatic exclusion for favourite players, or compensation for an accidental submission. Keep the final review of the selected cards separate from the convenience of a saved filter.

A useful routine is to set your preferred filters, select the cards, review the names and item versions, and only then submit. If you change filters for one unusual Challenge, check them again before starting the next: persistence also means a temporary choice can follow you forward.

Tip 3: separate convenience from SBC value

Faster navigation does not make every repeatable SBC worth completing. The preview does not announce cheaper score requirements or improved rewards. Judge the Challenge's current requirement and reward before spending, even when the menu becomes easier to use.

For the underlying system, read our FC 27 Streamlined SBC guide. If your concern is an accidental submission rather than menu friction, our wrong-player SBC submission guide covers that separate problem. The new persistence fix should not be stretched into a promise that every selection issue is gone.

Does update 1.1 nerf gameplay or change the meta?

No gameplay balance or tuning changes are announced for v1.1. EA's statement is unambiguous: “Title Update v1.1 contains no gameplay balance or tuning changes.” It appears in the Gameplay section of the official preview.

That rules out presenting this update as a confirmed nerf to a popular formation, an attacking mechanic or a defensive approach. It does not mean the patch contains zero gameplay-related code changes. EA separately lists bug fixes, including a tutorial progression problem and specific small-sided-match issues.

The distinction matters for your coin balance. Buying a replacement team because of an unannounced nerf turns speculation into a real expense. Our recommendation is to keep a working squad, test the updated game, and wait for actual balance notes before treating a card or tactic as obsolete. That is spending discipline, not a prediction that prices cannot move for other reasons.

Community discussion on 26 October included frustration about the lack of a gameplay update and complaints about recurring attacking patterns. Those posts show why the question matters; they do not establish that EA has fixed or nerfed the complained-about behaviour. We use the official statement as the authority, not player impressions from one session.

EA says another set of Gameplay Developer Notes will arrive later this week, discussing observations from the first month and potential adjustments for the next Title Update. There is no exact next-patch date here, no complete list of future changes and no promised nerf to a named card. For wider context, see our FC 27 launch feedback breakdown.

Are faster pack animations a reason to buy more packs?

No. EA says it has shortened the reveal animation sequence for most higher-OVR items. That is a presentation change. The preview does not say every opening becomes instant, publish a universal seconds-saved figure, or announce better pack contents.

If you already earned packs through objectives or rewards, a shorter reveal may make opening them less repetitive. It is not evidence that spending additional coins or FC Points becomes better value. Keep the animation and the reward decision separate.

Likewise, do not confuse the FUT visual fixes with competitive upgrades. EA lists referee kit-colour changes to reduce clashes, a fix for matches defaulting to the opponent's custom pitch-line colour when you had none selected, and a fix for the opponent's custom goal-net colour overriding your default. These address clarity and customisation, not player attributes.

What changes in Career and Team Management?

The Team Management layout has been overhauled for cleaner navigation and readability. Career also receives controls to toggle or adjust the frequency of Unexpected Events and Press Conferences, available during Career creation and in existing saves. That existing-save support is useful: EA is not describing these settings as new-save-only options.

Player Career gets two new Rivalry Objective types:

  • Consistency Rivalries: avoid being the first to fail an Objective.
  • Match Limit Rivalries: complete Objectives within a specific time limit.

Manager Career's negotiations receive clearer rejection responses, wage tuning that accounts for performance bonuses, and contract tuning intended to stop veteran players disproportionately demanding crucial squad roles. EA also says Youth Academy PlayStyles will be properly revealed during scouting and that simultaneous scouting capacity will be determined by Experience rather than Judgement.

One frequently confused point remains outside the confirmed fix list: EA says it is testing a fix for players requesting transfers over playtime even when their expectations are being met. The aim is an upcoming update. Do not describe that investigation as a completed v1.1 fix. Source: EA's Career section.

Which gameplay, Clubs and Grounds bugs are listed?

EA highlights five Gameplay bug fixes and ten Grounds/Clubs bug fixes in this preview; these counts are not the promised full patch list. Read the match format carefully before deciding whether a fix matches your issue. The preview names a goalkeeper holding the ball too long after a requested pass in 1v1, players getting stuck inside the goal net after slide tackles near the goal line in 2v2, and a long-press pass occasionally sending the ball into a player's own goal in 3v3 Kickabouts. Those labels are part of the scope, not interchangeable descriptions of every FUT match.

The Grounds and Clubs list also includes:

  • Pro Camera rotating incorrectly when the ball passes the byline.
  • Match ratings below 6.0 failing to display in the post-match flow.
  • A rating incorrectly displaying as 0 at maximum Archetype level.
  • Two goalkeepers occasionally being active for one team in Clubs Live Events.
  • Objectives-tab re-entry problems from the Live Events lobby.
  • An incorrect tournament “winner” label immediately after a semi-final.
  • Various stability issues when entering the Store, loading the world or playing.

EA promises a fuller list on 27 October. If your exact issue is missing from this preview, that alone does not prove it will remain unfixed; equally, a broad stability line does not prove your specific crash is solved. Check the complete notes and reproduce the issue after updating.

What should you do before spending coins after v1.1?

Use this order when the patch reaches your platform:

  • Install and confirm the update. Do not test the old build and conclude the announced fix failed.
  • Set your SBC filters on the first Challenge. Move to another Challenge and check that the expected settings persist.
  • Review selected players before submission. Saved filters are a convenience, not a guarantee against mistakes.
  • Keep your existing squad for an initial test. There is no announced v1.1 balance change requiring a rebuild.
  • Read the full patch notes before diagnosing an unresolved bug. Match the mode and trigger, not just a similar-sounding headline.

For active progression rather than patch speculation, use our Season 2 pass guide and FC Heritage Circuit route. Both give you defined objectives to work toward without inventing a new meta.
