Fortnite Geno quests are the "Geno: The Ultimate Reality" story questline in Chapter 7 Season 4 "Override". It comes in two parts: Part 1 (eight stages, added with update v42.10 on 3 September 2026) and Part 2 (six stages, added with v42.30 on 1 October 2026, the day Fortnitemares started). Part 1 ends with the Void Master Geno style and Part 2 with an Admin Panel code worth 5,000 Sprite Dust. One important change: Epic now says Part 1's YourThoughtsAreMine code no longer works, because it's tied to an expired quest. The questline is also one of the buggiest in the season. Quests vanish from the Quests tab, The Order NPC goes missing, and the Hope code gets rejected. This guide covers every step, every code and every fix we found, with about eight days left before Override ends.
Quick answer: Part 1 has 8 stages: get 6 eliminations, talk to The Innovation, Jones and The Order, find 3 Geno memories, visit and then activate an Override Console, extract 3 Sprites, collect 8 Looper's Essence, then shoot Geno at Geno's Machine. The old YourThoughtsAreMine code is expired (Epic), so don't rely on it. Part 2 has 6 stages: kneel to Geno with the Katana Presentation emote, reveal 2 opponents, use a Flusher, spread 6 propaganda posters and record Hope's graffiti, enter S7H-50P-R03, talk to The Order, then enter runSystemOverride for 5,000 Sprite Dust. Finish before Override ends on 1 November 2026 (Eastern Time).
What are the Geno quests in Fortnite?
Geno is the villain of Chapter 7 Season 4. Epic's season premise is that he stole the Zero Point and used a game cartridge to "override" the island into pockets of other video games. That is where the Match Overrides and Override Consoles come from. His questline sits in the Story section of the Quests tab under "Geno: The Ultimate Reality". It runs alongside the Wrixel (Ziggy) and Bastian story quests.
Here is the questline at a glance, based on the Fortnite Wiki's Chapter 7 Season 4 Story Quests table:
| Part 1 | Part 2 | |
|---|---|---|
| Added | v42.10, 3 September 2026 | v42.30, 1 October 2026 |
| Stages | 8 (plus a hidden step) | 6 |
| XP per stage | 10,000 Season XP | 10,000 Season XP |
| Final code | YourThoughtsAreMine (expired, per Epic) | runSystemOverride |
| Final reward | Void Master Geno style + Void Conduits of Power | 5,000 Sprite Dust |
| Ends | 31 October 2026 (wiki); season ends 1 November ET | 31 October 2026 (wiki); season ends 1 November ET |
The story has a twist. Part 1 has you doing Geno's errands until the last step asks you to "take down Geno and defy his commands to save The Order from her father". Part 2 has you feigning loyalty while Hope and The Order break his mind control.
How do you complete all the Geno Part 1 quests?
Part 1 has eight stages. You don't need to finish any of them in one match. Progress carries over.
| Stage | Quest | How to do it | Reward |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ??? | Get 6 eliminations across any matches | Cheat Code Locator + XP |
| 2 | Talk to The Innovation, Jones and The Order about Geno | Pick "Who is Geno?" with each NPC | Ordered Conduits of Power (Back Bling style) |
| 3 | Find Geno's memories from his past | 3 blue orbs (locations below) | Llama Supply Drop + XP |
| 4 | Visit an Override Console location | Any of the 7 consoles, active or not | Void's Wrath (Pickaxe style) |
| 5 | Activate an Override | Use an active, glowing console | Steps of the Void (Glider style) |
| 6 | Extract Sprites | Extract 3 Sprites, any method | Voided Rift Wrecker (Contrail style) + XP |
| 7 | Collect Looper's Essence | Eliminate 8 players and pick up the essence they drop | 3 Portable Extractors + XP |
| 8 | Take down Geno | Shoot Geno at Geno's Machine | Ordered Geno (Outfit style) + XP |
Reward placements follow IGN's Part 1 walkthrough_Walkthrough) and the Fortnite Wiki's reward track.
Stage 1 shows as "???". That's the step most people get stuck on. It's just six eliminations, and they don't need to be in one match. Dropping at a POI with boosted loot (its name glows blue on the map at match start) or at an Extraction Site speeds it up.
Stage 2 NPC locations. IGN found The Innovation at Latte Landing, Vengeance Jones walking the cliffs just north of Golden Grove, and The Order on the mountain just south of Reality's Reign. Two catches. Latte Landing was replaced by Freaky Fields when Fortnitemares arrived on 1 October. And The Order can be hired, so another player may already have taken her. If an NPC isn't where a guide says, go to Quests > Collection > Characters and use Show Map to see where they are this match.
Stage 3 memory locations. The three memories, per IGN:
- The Battlewoods, north-east side, on the floor next to the water.
- Shaken Sanctuary, inside the main triangle-shaped building, on the right in front of a large test tube.
- Mega Maze, north-east of Sunken Shores, just inside the entrance next to the Vending Machines.
Stages 4 and 5 are two separate steps. Visiting any of the seven Override Console locations counts, even if the console isn't active. Activating one is harder. Consoles light up at random with a beam and a cartridge icon on the map, and other squads race for them. If you want to know what each effect does before you pick, our Match Overrides guide lists them all.
Stage 8: take down Geno, but unequip your Sprites first. Geno floats in an orb at Geno's Machine, the landmark in the middle of the map. IGN places it under the giant purple cloud between Green Hill Zone and Reality's Reign. Shoot him and he eliminates you instantly. Since v42.10 he also extracts the Sprites of the player he punishes, according to the Fortnite Wiki's Geno's Machine history. Don't carry a Sprite you care about into this step. Getting eliminated by him is part of the design: a hidden "Be eliminated by Geno" step sits under Stage 8.
The quest line itself states the cost:
"There is no success without sacrifice." — Geno, Stage 7 quest dialogue (Fortnite Wiki quest table)
What about YourThoughtsAreMine? Older guides, including IGN's, say a final task appears after Stage 8: enter YourThoughtsAreMine in the lobby's Admin Panel to unlock Void Master Geno and the Void Conduits of Power Back Bling style. Epic's Player Support now says otherwise:
"This Cheat Code is tied to an expired quest and you won't be able to use it." — Epic Games Player Support
Epic says the rewards still come from completing the nine available Geno quests, which means the eight stages plus the hidden "Be eliminated by Geno" step. The Fortnite Wiki's Lobby Hacks page agrees: it says the code "automatically activates" once eight of the Part 1 quests are complete. So finish the stages and check your locker for the Void Master Geno style. If it isn't there, use Epic's fix in the troubleshooting section below rather than retyping the code. For the codes that do still work, see our Admin Panel Lobby Hack codes guide. Ranked must be off to redeem.
What are the hidden Geno quests?
Part 1 also has five hidden quests. They don't show in the main list until you start progressing them. According to the wiki table, they are:
- Activate Match Overrides or Cheat Codes (10)
- Survive Storm Phases (10)
- Restore health or gain shields (300)
- Search Containers (15)
- Hit headshots (10)
Beebom reports 5,000 XP for each, plus lore audio logs. All five happen naturally in normal Battle Royale matches. Note that "Cheat Codes" here means the in-match Cheat Code pickups, not the lobby Admin Panel.
How do you complete the Geno Part 2 quests?
Part 2 arrived with v42.30 on 1 October, the first half of Fortnitemares 2026. Epic's announcement set it up in one line:
"Geno's plan is progressing… he's slotted a cursed cartridge into the Island, turning familiar ground strange with new Overrides and weapons." — Epic Games, Fortnite Communities
Part 2 assumes you've finished Part 1. The wiki table lists six stages, but Stage 4 hides seven sub-tasks, which is why some guides count ten or more quests.
| Stage | Quest | How to do it |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Emote to kneel to Geno to feign loyalty | Stand on the structure under Geno at Geno's Machine, look up at him, use the Katana Presentation emote |
| 2 | Reveal opponents to shield Geno from interference (2) | Use the Last Call from your Loot Hacks; its secondary fire marks nearby enemies |
| 3 | Use a Flusher to block Geno from listening | Enter a Flusher (Port-a-Potty), e.g. the gas station at Chopped Shop |
| 4a | Spread propaganda (6 total) | 2 posters each at Nightmare Neighborhood, WonkeeLand and Sunken Shores, marked "!" on the minimap |
| 4b | Record the Lobby Hack pieces graffitied by Hope (3) | Interact with Hope's graffiti in the same three POIs |
| 5 | Activate Hope's Lobby Hack | Enter S7H-50P-R03 in the Admin Panel |
| 6 | Talk to The Order about the next steps | Find The Order (GameRant: east of Chopped Shop), pick "What's next?" |
| Final | Claim your reward | Enter runSystemOverride in the Admin Panel for 5,000 Sprite Dust |
Steps compiled from GameRant's Part 2 guide and Beebom's Geno quests guide, checked against the wiki's quest text.
A few details the tables don't cover:
- The kneel emote. Every guide uses Katana Presentation, whose in-game description is literally "Kneel and show your blade." It sells for 200 V-Bucks in the Item Shop, but gamer.org says the emote is provided for the quest. Check your emote wheel and locker before you buy anything.
- Revealing opponents. The Last Call is the method GameRant, Beebom and AllThings.how all give. Some outlets also mention an equipped X-Ray Sprite, but we couldn't confirm that it counts. If you want a sure thing, use the Last Call.
- Flusher locations. Beebom lists Port-a-Potties at Chopped Shop, Cluster Coast, Shaken Sanctuary and WonkeeLand.
- Nightmare Neighborhood is the Fortnitemares POI built over the old Battlewoods area, and Freddy Krueger roams it as a boss. Place your posters fast. Our Fortnitemares map changes guide has the layout.
The art above is Geno's Propaganda, a loading screen added with v42.30. The wiki's quest table links it to the six-poster step, but its own cosmetic page still lists it as unreleased. Don't count on it as a reward until it shows up in your locker.
Why are my Geno quests missing or not progressing?
Judging by r/FortniteBR, the "not working" side of this questline gets as many questions as the walkthrough. On 23 October, a player posted that their Geno quest was missing and they couldn't find The Order either. Here are the fixes, most reliable first.
1. YourThoughtsAreMine gives an error. That's expected now. Epic's support article says players "might encounter an error" with that code because it's tied to an expired quest. Players in this r/FortniteBR thread report the same "unavailable" message. Don't keep retrying it. Finish the nine available quests instead.
2. The quest is stuck after nine completions, or the next step never appears. The same Epic article says:
"If the Geno quests are not updating after you have already completed 9 of them, you can fix it by playing a new match and talking to 'The Order' about the next steps to take Geno down." — Epic Games Player Support
That matches what players found. In one r/FortniteBR thread, players said the "Talk to The Order" step after the Hope code didn't show in the Quests tab at all. They only discovered it when they bumped into her. If you've entered S7H-50P-R03 but have nothing to do next, find The Order and talk to her anyway.
3. You can't find The Order. She can be hired, so if she isn't at her spot, another player may have her. Start a new match. Use Quests > Collection > Characters > Show Map to see her position, as Epic's support article and r/FortniteMobile players both suggest.
4. Hope's code gets rejected. In the player reports we found, the cause was usually a typo. The code is S7H-50P-R03: S-seven-H, then five-zero-P, then R-zero-three. In the same thread, one player fixed days of failed tries after realising they'd been typing "SH7". Others reported that the code only worked with zeros, not the letter O.
5. The Admin Panel says "Too eager. Come back soon." In that thread, the reply to this message was that the code was right but the previous steps weren't finished. The Fortnite Wiki's Lobby Hacks page says S7H-50P-R03 can't be used until five Part 2 quests are complete, and it only works once. Enter it when the quest in front of you is "Activate Hope's Lobby Hack".
6. Stage 8 doesn't complete after Geno kills you. IGN hit this too. Their fix was to go back to Geno's Machine in a new match, and the quest completed as soon as they landed. Beebom's advice is the same: start a new match.
7. Part 2 never appeared. Part 2 follows Part 1, so finish the eight stages and the hidden one first. One r/FortniteBattleRoyale reply says the next Geno quest only appeared after they'd cleared the rest of the Story tab, audio logs included. That's a player report, not an Epic rule, but it costs nothing to try. If the whole Quests tab is empty, check @FortniteStatus. Epic has had a server-side "players don't see Quests in the Quest tab" issue before.
8. A restart fixes more than it should. Players report clearing a stuck step by restarting Fortnite, then playing one more match before checking the Quests tab.
What do you get for finishing every Geno quest?
In total the two parts pay out:
- Season XP: the wiki lists 10,000 XP on every quest step, which puts the two parts at roughly 140,000 XP or more, plus Beebom's reported 25,000 from the hidden quests.
- Seven cosmetic styles: Ordered Conduits of Power, Void's Wrath, Steps of the Void, Voided Rift Wrecker and Ordered Geno, then Void Master Geno and Void Conduits of Power for finishing Part 1.
- Possibly the Geno's Propaganda loading screen from Part 2. It's listed as unreleased, see above.
- Gizmos: a Cheat Code Locator, a Llama Supply Drop and 3 Portable Extractors.
- 5,000 Sprite Dust from runSystemOverride.
The catch with the styles: they are edit styles for Battle Pass cosmetics. Geno is one of the eight Override Pass characters, and the Fortnite Wiki notes his set (outfit and Geno's Wrath pickaxe included) only unlocks after Battle Pass level 85. Without the Override Pass (800 V-Bucks, or included with Fortnite Crew) and those items, you still get the quest XP and Gizmos, but the styles have nothing to apply to.
Spend the Sprite Dust now. Epic said Gizmos and Sprite Dust reset when Season 3 ended. It hasn't confirmed the same for 1 November, but assume it will. 5,000 Sprite Dust earned on 31 October is worth much less than the same amount earned today. Our Sprite events schedule shows the remaining Mastery Monday and Power Hours windows to spend it in.
When do the Geno quests end?
The Geno quests go when Override goes. Epic's Battle Pass page says the season ends on 1 November 2026, Eastern Time. The Fortnite Wiki lists the Story Quests as running from 20 August to 31 October 2026. Epic hasn't announced when the v43.00 downtime starts, so treat 31 October as your real deadline.
Practical advice: finish both parts and enter Hope's code and runSystemOverride by the evening of 31 October in your timezone. Season-change downtime usually lasts several hours. Whether the Admin Panel accepts Override codes after the mini-season starts is unknown, and we wouldn't bet on it.
What comes next isn't Chapter 8 yet. A mini-season is expected to start on 1 November with update v43.00, ahead of a later Chapter 8. Geno's role in it hasn't been announced, though his story is clearly heading for a finale. We cover that in our Override finale live event guide and our checklist of what to do before Chapter 7 Season 4 ends.

FAQ
How many Geno quests are there in Fortnite? There are 14 main stages: eight in Part 1 ("Geno: The Ultimate Reality", added 3 September 2026) and six in Part 2 (added 1 October 2026). On top of that are a hidden "Be eliminated by Geno" step, five hidden side quests and two Admin Panel code steps (Part 1's is now expired). That's why guide totals vary so much.
What is the Geno quest code in Fortnite? Two still work. YourThoughtsAreMine was Part 1's code, but Epic says it's tied to an expired quest and can't be used. Finish the nine Part 1 quests for the rewards instead. S7H-50P-R03 is Hope's Lobby Hack, used in the middle of Part 2. runSystemOverride finishes Part 2 and pays 5,000 Sprite Dust. Enter them in the Admin Panel in the lobby with Ranked turned off.
Why can't I enter Hope's code S7H-50P-R03? Either it's a typo or you entered it too early. The code starts with S-7-H, not S-H-7, and players report it needs zeros, not the letter O. If the panel replies "Too eager. Come back soon.", finish the earlier Part 2 steps first: the posters and all three of Hope's graffiti pieces.
Where is Geno in Fortnite? Geno floats in an orb at Geno's Machine, the landmark in the centre of the Chapter 7 Season 4 map, between Stone Sanctum, Green Hill Zone and Reality's Reign. You need him for Part 1 Stage 8 (shoot him) and Part 2 Stage 1 (kneel to him). Unequip your Sprites before you attack, because he extracts them when he eliminates you.
Do I need the Battle Pass for the Geno quests? No. Anyone can do the quests and earn the XP, Gizmos and Sprite Dust. Most cosmetic rewards, though, are edit styles for Geno and other Override Pass items, so you only get to use them if you own the Battle Pass (800 V-Bucks, or included with Fortnite Crew).
Can you still do the Geno quests after the season ends? Almost certainly not. They're Chapter 7 Season 4 Story Quests, and the Fortnite Wiki lists them as ending 31 October. Epic's Battle Pass page has Override ending 1 November 2026 (ET). Epic hasn't said anything about the quests or their Admin Panel codes carrying into the mini-season, so finish them by 31 October.
Applies to Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 "Override", update v42.40 (Fortnitemares 2026). Last checked 23 October 2026 against the Fortnite Wiki's Story Quests table, Epic Player Support, IGN, GameRant and Beebom. Quest locations can shift between updates; use Quests > Collection > Show Map in-game to confirm NPC positions.
