Kasane Teto is officially coming to Fortnite. Her rights holder, TwinDrill, posted an animated Fortnite teaser on 23 October 2026. Hatsune Miku is in it too: Teto carries a pirate flag with both singers' faces on it. That fits leaks that Fortnite's next mini-season will be built around rival pirate crews. This guide covers what's confirmed, what's still a leak, when Teto is likely to arrive and the Miku items already in Fortnite.

Last checked: 24 October 2026, 03:30 UTC. Applies to Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 "Override" (v42.40) and the upcoming Chapter 7 mini-season.

Quick answer: Is Kasane Teto coming to Fortnite?

  • Yes, it's official. TwinDrill posted a Fortnite teaser on X on 23 October 2026 at 22:06 UTC. It carries copyright lines for Epic Games, Crypton Future Media and TwinDrill.
  • Hatsune Miku is part of it. The teaser ends on a pirate flag showing both Teto and Miku. The leaker HYPEX says the pair will have "their own Crew next season".
  • Expected release: with the Chapter 7 mini-season, expected on 1 November 2026. Epic's own Battle Pass page says Chapter 7 Season 4 ends on 1 November (Eastern Time). Epic has not confirmed a date or price for any Teto item.
  • In the game files? Not publicly. As of 24 October, no Teto cosmetic is listed in the public Fortnite-API cosmetics database (encrypted assets wouldn't show there). Dataminers will likely find her with v43.00, but that's an expectation.
  • What you can hear right now: the giant pirate chest east of Sunken Shores alternates "BIRDBRAIN" (Jamie Paige ft. Kasane Teto) and "Miku" (Anamanaguchi ft. Hatsune Miku) about every 6 hours.
  • Miku already has 3 outfits in Fortnite: Hatsune Miku, Neko Hatsune Miku and Snow Miku.

Did Epic officially confirm the Kasane Teto Fortnite collab?

Yes, through the official rights holder. Kasane Teto is managed by TwinDrill, the circle that owns the character. Its official X account posted the teaser at 22:06 UTC on 23 October 2026 with this caption:

"Hey Hatsune Miku (@cfm_miku_en), mind if I join you⁉️" — TwinDrill (@twindrill_teto) on X, 23 October 2026

The 6.5-second clip ends on a legal card that reads "© 2026 Epic Games, Inc.", "© Crypton Future Media, INC. www.piapro.net" and "© SEN/MAYO OYAMANO / TwinDrill", plus an ESRB Teen rating. That's a licensed Epic production, not fan art. The leaker HYPEX shared the same clip at almost the same moment as the "KASANE TETO x FORTNITE OFFICIAL TEASER".

Beyond the teaser itself, very little is confirmed. A release date, price, item list and whether this is a Battle Pass or Item Shop set are all unconfirmed. Treat any specific price you see as a guess.

What does the Kasane Teto teaser show?

The teaser is short and full of hints. Frame by frame:

  • A Durrr Burger head sticking its tongue out, the classic Fortnite mascot, on a Japanese "フォートナイト" (Fortnite) title bar.
  • Teto's eyes and face, drawn in a neon pink, cyan and orange pop-art style, with her red drill twin-tails.
  • Retro computer pop-up windows stacked over the frame. That's the visual language of Override's "hack the island" story.
  • A pirate rubber duck with a skull-and-crossbones hat, plus a treasure chest and baguettes. The baguette is Teto's best-known prop, and her official profile lists her as liking them.
  • The final shot: Teto salutes on a tropical rooftop and holds up a pirate flag with her own face and Hatsune Miku's printed side by side.

That flag matters. The earlier A$AP Rocky and Lil Uzi Vert teasers also ended with each artist raising a pirate flag. That's why leakers read the flags as crews for the mini-season.

What does "Teto and Miku have their own Crew" mean?

This is a pirate crew, not the Fortnite Crew subscription. On 22 October, HYPEX posted that the next season appears to have "different Hunters/Pirate Crews hunting for the chest and/or something", as reported by HappyGamer. The leak says:

  • A$AP Rocky and Lil Uzi Vert each have a flag and a crew.
  • Jonesy and Hope, Fortnite's own characters, are listed the same way.
  • Teto (and possibly Miku) were predicted to get a crew on 23 October. The official teaser has now confirmed the flag.
  • Luffy's Crew (One Piece) is rumoured to be revealed last. That's still a leak. Epic hasn't confirmed One Piece.

How the crews work in matches is unknown. Some players expect a faction pick like past Fortnite seasons. Others expect crew-themed cosmetics with no gameplay effect. HYPEX hedged his own wording, so don't plan around a faction mechanic yet.

Don't mix this up with the Fortnite Crew subscription ($11.99/month, 800 V-Bucks). That has its own monthly skin, and November 2026's is reported (via datamines) to be Monarcha, covered in our Fortnite Crew skin guide. Nothing suggests Teto or Miku will be a Crew subscription skin.

When will the Kasane Teto skin come out in Fortnite?

The most likely window is 1 November 2026 or shortly after. Here's the evidence:

The mini-season looks short. Leaks put Chapter 8 in late November or early December, and our mini-season vs Chapter 8 explainer has that timeline. The last two mini-seasons, Galactic Battle (May 2025) and The Simpsons (November 2025), each ran about four to five weeks. If Teto is tied to this season, she's likely to arrive within that window. Artist sets don't always go live on day one, though.

Season change means downtime. Our Fortnite server status and downtime guide covers what to expect when v43.00 goes live.

Where is the treasure chest playing the Teto and Miku songs?

The giant pirate chest sits east of Sunken Shores and south of the Mega Maze on the Chapter 7 Season 4 map. It's big enough to see from the Battle Bus, so you can mark it before you drop (Beebom). It arrived with v42.40 and has been "downloading" into the island in stages. You can't open it, destroy it or loot anything from it.

The chest plays one teased artist's song at a time:

Since late on 23 October, FNAssist reports that "BIRDBRAIN" and "Miku" loop and alternate roughly every 6 hours. If you land and hear the wrong one, come back later. Our Lil Uzi Vert skin guide covers the first two teasers in detail.

Is Hatsune Miku getting a new Fortnite skin?

Unconfirmed. Miku appears on Teto's flag and her song plays at the chest. HYPEX says the two share a crew, which suggests Miku has a role in the mini-season. But no new Miku outfit has been shown. Players on r/FortNiteBR were quick to point out that no new Battle Pass skins appeared in the Miku/Teto clips either.

New Miku content could mean a new outfit, a new style, a return of the old sets to the shop, or just the flag and music. Wait for Epic's mini-season reveal before you spend.

What Hatsune Miku items are already in Fortnite?

Miku has been in Fortnite since 14 January 2025, when she was the Icon for Fortnite Festival Season 7 (Epic's Festival Season 7 announcement). Here are the outfits and the main extras, per the Fortnite-API item database:

This isn't every single cosmetic, just the ones players ask about most.

Miku Jam Tracks: "Miku" (Anamanaguchi), "World Is Mine" and "Melt" (ryo/supercell), "Daisy 2.0" (Ashnikko), "M@GICAL☆CURE! LOVE SHOT!" (SAWTOWNE), "Decade" (Dixie Flatline) and "SnowMix♪" (Marasy). You can only buy them when they're in the Item Shop, which resets daily at 00:00 UTC.

Who is Kasane Teto, and why is this collab a big deal?

Teto started as a joke. On April Fools' Day 2008, users of the Japanese textboard 2channel invented a fake Vocaloid. They picked her name, hairstyle and personality at random from suggestions. The prank went so well that she got a real UTAU voicebank that same year, voiced by Mayo Oyamano. That's why TwinDrill calls her a "diva born from a hoax". Since 2010, Crypton Future Media, Miku's company, has handled her commercial licensing. That's why the Fortnite teaser carries both companies' copyright lines.

Her 2023 Synthesizer V AI voicebank made her one of the most-used virtual singers around. In Billboard's analysis of the 2025 Music Awards Japan Vocaloid entries, 5 of the top 10 tracks in its domestic streaming sample featured Teto. Miku featured on 3. Her official profile gives her age as 31, and fans still meme her as the "red Miku". The reaction thread on r/FortNiteBR was mostly variations on "red Miku and blue Teto".

She's not a Miku recolour, though. She's a separate character with her own rights holder, her own voice and her own design. That design got a full update in 2023: a grey military-style jacket and red drill twin-tails, which is the look the Fortnite teaser uses.

What should you do before the mini-season starts?

  • Finish your Override Battle Pass. According to Epic Player Support, rewards you've earned but not claimed are granted automatically on your next login. Rewards you haven't earned by the end can't be earned through this pass any more. Our Chapter 7 Season 4 ending checklist lists what to clear first.
  • Save V-Bucks if you want Teto. No price is known. Recent music Icon outfits have cost around 1,500 V-Bucks on their own, and bundles more. Keep a buffer and don't pre-buy anything.
  • Visit the chest while it's still playing. The song loop is a pre-season teaser and will most likely change or disappear with the season update.
  • Ignore "free Teto skin" generators and survey sites. They're scams, and Epic has never handed out free V-Bucks through public codes. Legitimate free cosmetics come from in-game quests, tournament cups or verified Epic promotions, which can include real promotional redemption codes announced on Epic's own channels.

FAQ

Is Kasane Teto officially coming to Fortnite? Yes. TwinDrill, Teto's official rights holder, posted a Fortnite teaser on X on 23 October 2026. The clip carries Epic Games, Crypton Future Media and TwinDrill copyright notices. Epic hasn't announced the release date or price yet.

When does the Kasane Teto Fortnite skin come out? It hasn't been dated. The teaser is part of the run-up to the Chapter 7 mini-season, which is expected to start on 1 November 2026, the day Epic's Battle Pass page lists as the end of Chapter 7 Season 4. Expect Teto on or soon after that date.

Is Hatsune Miku in the Fortnite mini-season? Miku appears on Teto's pirate flag and her song plays at the treasure chest, so she's clearly involved. A new Miku outfit hasn't been shown. Her existing outfits (Hatsune Miku, Neko Hatsune Miku and Snow Miku) have been in Fortnite since 2025.

Is the Teto skin in the Battle Pass or the Item Shop? Unknown. Collab music characters usually arrive as Icon Series sets in the Item Shop, and Miku's main outfit did. But Neko Miku came through a Music Pass, so a pass reward isn't impossible. Wait for Epic's reveal.

Is the Teto crew the same as the Fortnite Crew? No. "Crew" here means a pirate crew in the mini-season's treasure-hunt theme, each with its own flag. The Fortnite Crew is the $11.99/month subscription with its own monthly skin.

Why is Kasane Teto music playing in Fortnite? The giant pirate chest east of Sunken Shores plays a teased artist's song as part of the mini-season build-up. Since 23 October it has alternated "BIRDBRAIN" (Jamie Paige ft. Kasane Teto) and "Miku" (Anamanaguchi ft. Hatsune Miku) about every six hours.

Is Kasane Teto just a red Hatsune Miku? No. Teto began in 2008 as an April Fools' parody of the Vocaloids, but she's her own character with her own voicebank and rights holder, TwinDrill. Crypton handles her commercial licensing, which is why both names appear on the teaser.
