HoYoverse published the Version 7.2 Event Calendar on HoYoLAB shortly after the 23 October 2026 Special Program, and like the 7.1 calendar it is a single picture with no text layer. That makes it easy to mis-copy, and many 7.2 event lists mix it with leaked Primogem counts. We read the image itself at full resolution and added up the badges.
Quick answer: Genshin Impact Version 7.2 "Hour of Ruin" arrives on 4 November 2026. Its official calendar has 10 dated entries besides the update marker itself. The flagship event, The Grand Defense: Defy the Unjust Judgment, runs 11/04 – 12/16 and carries a 920-Primogem badge. After it come Stygian Onslaught (11/11 – 12/15, 450), Stress Block Smashing Project (11/20 – 11/30, 420), Frames of Fierce Splendor (11/27 – 12/07, 420), The Long Night web event (12/04 – 12/15, 120), Trial of the Usurper (11/16 – 11/26, 40), Keep Up With Mitya! (11/04 – 11/12) and Ley Line Overflow (12/07 – 12/14). The calendar's badges total 2,370 Primogems, which is 14 wishes with 130 left over. Completing the 7.2 Archon Quest in time adds 560 more, for 2,930.
Article status: refreshed 29 October 2026, six days before launch. Event names, dates and reward badges come from HoYoverse's Version 7.2 Event Calendar (HoYoLAB post 47177975, 23 October 2026). The 4 November release date is printed in plain text in the official Version 7.2 Events Overview (HoYoLAB post 47176673). The quality-of-life changes come from Paimon's Version 7.2 Update Notes (official news 167098, posted 29 October 2026). The 7.1 deadlines come from the live in-game announcement feed, checked on 29 October 2026. Version 7.1 is still the live version at the time of writing.
What is in the Genshin 7.2 event calendar?
There are ten dated entries, the update marker and two permanent modes. Here they are in date order, with every date and badge as printed.

Three things on that calendar are easy to miss.
The Grand Defense runs for almost the whole version. It is the only row drawn as a full illustrated banner and the only Primogem badge above 450. Its 11/04 – 12/16 window is 42 days, the full length of a standard six-week version. One question came up straight away in the Reddit thread on the calendar: "is the main event time gated?" The calendar does not say. It gives one long window, not separate phases, so you have six weeks to clear it either way. HoYoverse's 23 October press release adds that players "can unlock a new limited-time event by progressing through the Version 7.2 Archon Quest, or jump straight in using the Quick Start feature", and that its objectives grant Primogems, enhancement materials and "the chance to invite a 4-star character of their choice". The press release does not name that event, and HoYoverse has not tied it to a calendar row.
Sixth Cycle of "To Temper Thyself and Journey Far" is the longest bar, not the flagship. It starts on 11/02, two days before 7.2 itself, and runs to 01/25. That is the cycle that hands out Stella Fortuna. The fifth cycle ends on 2 November at 03:59 server time, the same day the sixth begins on the calendar.
Keep Up With Mitya! has no Primogem badge. It starts on launch day alongside The Grand Defense. Its three reward icons are items, not Primogems. It is a Community Event named after the new 5-star, and it lasts only nine days (11/04 – 11/12).
How many Primogems do the Version 7.2 events give?
The badges printed on the calendar add up to 2,370 Primogems:

At 160 Primogems per wish, that is 14 Intertwined Fates with 130 Primogems left.
There is one more first-party number. HoYoverse's 23 October press release for Version 7.2 says that finishing the new Archon Quest within the designated period grants 560 Primogems, plus Character Ascension Materials for Mitya. That reward is not on the calendar. Adding it gives 2,930 Primogems, or 18 wishes with 50 spare.
So how does that square with the much bigger "7.2 primocount" totals that have been circulating on Reddit since 23 October? Those numbers come from leakers. They also count daily commissions, the Battle Pass, Spiral Abyss, Imaginarium Theater, codes and maintenance compensation. None of those are on this calendar, and HoYoverse has not published a version-wide total. Treat 2,370 (or 2,930 with the Archon Quest) as the part you can check against an official source today.
Two caveats. The calendar shows one badge per event, so it does not show how Stygian Onslaught's 450 splits across difficulty levels. Ley Line Overflow and Keep Up With Mitya! carry no Primogem badge, so they add nothing to the total even though both give rewards. Which banners run alongside the 7.2 events?
Only one Event Wish appears on the calendar: "Myriad Patterns Unfold", from 11/04. HoYoverse's 27 October skill showcase ties that banner name to Mitya, and the press release confirms him as a 5-star Electro Catalyst user. Phase 1 also brings a Furina rerun and Valeriy, whom the press release describes as "a 4-star Electro Sword wielder".
The calendar has no Phase 2 row at all. The press release fills that gap: Zibai and Linnea return in Phase 2, together with a Chronicled Wish featuring "certain Natlan characters". What changes in Version 7.2 besides the events?
On 29 October HoYoverse posted Paimon's Version 7.2 Update Notes. They contain three quality-of-life changes and one note about the new map.
Specialty Tracking points at the specialty you picked. In HoYoverse's words: "After the version update, as long as you have a character in your party who can display nearby Local Specialties, tracking a specific Local Specialty will make the minimap prioritize markers for that specialty." Before this change, tracking Glaze Lilies could lead you to a Silk Flower. It drew the warmest reaction from Reddit commenters on the update notes. One reply put it simply: "Looking for scarabs but the map points to henna berries instead." That should now be fixed.
Prime Ice Constructs get a friends-only setting. The permission menu will have three options for sending and receiving: Everyone, Only Friends and Don't Allow. Constructs will also no longer be sent to areas around Statues of The Seven, Adventurers' Guilds, blacksmiths and Meeting Points. The batch-delete limit in "Manage Prime Ice Constructs" rises from 100 to 200.
Ley Line Outcrops show their enemies before you start. Select an outcrop on the map and you can see the opponents first. HoYoverse's example shows Icy Crystal: Frostnight Scion at level 85, next to the 20-resin Treasure Collection Cost.
Two new areas, one partly covered by the Shadow Realm. Version 7.2 adds Novokitezhgrad and Wingspan Peak. Parts of Wingspan Peak start inside the Shadow Realm. HoYoverse says that after you complete the "An Ancient Song of Flowing Crystal and Stone Chests" quest chain, the Shadow Realm in the eastern part of Wingspan Peak recedes, and you can then explore it "with any characters in their party".
Which Version 7.1 events end before 7.2 arrives?
This is the section that costs you something if you skip it. The in-game notices give exact server-time deadlines, and most of them land on 2 or 3 November, before the update.

Overflowing Favor is the best use of resin this week. From announcement 21053: challenge a Domain of Blessing, spend Original Resin and "double your rewards up to 3 times a day". It needs Adventure Rank 20. Three doubled artifact runs a day for the last few days of 7.1 is the best value for your resin before the version changes.
The free 5-star invites are the biggest thing you can lose. If you have not claimed your character from "Across the Frozen Wilds, Honing One's Edge" or "Tabletop Troupe", the deadline is 2026/11/03 14:59. That is the same moment the 7.1 banners close. Check your anniversary mail today. HoYoverse's notice for the Missive of Grace says each mail "can be collected until the end of the 'Missive of Grace: A Thank-You Gift' event", which runs until the end of Version 7.1, but also that "The mail will expire after 30 days". The four 400-Primogem mails were sent for logins from 28 September to 1 October, so most of them expire between 28 and 31 October, before 7.1 ends.
Server time means each region's own clock. Europe changed its clocks on 25 October and the US changes on 1 November, so a conversion you saved in September may now be an hour off. How do you read the 7.2 calendar dates on your own server?
The calendar prints dates only, with no start or end hours. HoYoverse's own post of the calendar on X spells out the time zone: "*Event times shown in the calendar are in UTC+8. Please check in-game notices for event details and schedules." So every date in the 7.2 calendar table is a UTC+8 date. That matters most for web events such as The Long Night, which run on one global clock: a 12/15 UTC+8 end can fall on the evening of 12/14 in Europe or the Americas. In-game events usually end at the same server time on every server, so check each notice.
The exact hours arrive with each event's in-game notice, and those notices usually give times in server time, as the 7.1 deadlines in the table above show. Use the notice, not the calendar, once an event is live. The version update itself is different: maintenance takes every server down at once, so the 11/04 launch happens at one moment worldwide.
The calendar also leaves out several things. It gives no mechanics for any event and no reward breakdown beyond the badges. It has no Spiral Abyss or Imaginarium Theater line-up.
