Genshin Impact code lists are the easiest page on the internet to pad. Every string anyone has ever seen gets pasted in, nothing is dated, and you find out which half is dead by typing all of them into the redemption box one at a time.
This list goes the other way. Every code below was checked on 30 September 2026, during Version 7.1 "A Rekviem for the Underworld", and only reaches the working table if two genuinely independent publications print it — sites that copy one another count once. Everything that failed that bar is still listed, in a table that says so.
Quick answer
- Eight codes are confirmed working going into October 2026. Six of them pay Primogems.
- Total Primogem value of every confirmed code: 290. That is one Intertwined Fate and change, not a pity reset.
- Two more live strings are group heads, not standalone codes. The PLDX and GS71 families each share one redemption type, so redeeming a member blocks the rest on that account.
- Six more strings are circulating on a single feed each and have not been corroborated — listed separately, not recommended.
- The next real batch drops at the Version 7.2 Special Program, projected 23–24 October. HoYoverse has not announced it yet.
- GENSHINGIFT is not the reliable starter code it is usually sold as. See the caveat below.
Which Genshin Impact codes work in October 2026?
These eight cleared the two-independent-source bar. Rewards land by in-game mail, usually within a couple of minutes.

Two notes that most lists skip.
EPIC2026's Hero's Wit count is genuinely disputed. Eurogamer and Notebookcheck print three; Pocket Tactics, KodeGG and one further tracker print five. The 40 Primogems and 20,000 Mora are unanimous across all five, so the code itself is safe — only the talent-book count is uncertain.
OPERACOLLAB is a sponsorship code, not a HoYoverse event code. It came out of an OperaGX promotion, which is why it appeared on 29 September with no announcement attached. An earlier 40-Primogem figure was corrected to 30 in Game8's own comments; Pocket Tactics and KodeGG both print 30.
How many Primogems do October's codes actually give you?
Add the six Primogem-bearing codes: 60 plus 60 plus 60 plus 40 plus 40 plus 30 comes to 290 Primogems.
An Intertwined Fate costs 160. So the entire working code list for October, redeemed perfectly on the first day, buys one wish with 130 Primogems left over.
Code pages are usually written as though they are a meaningful pull budget. They are not. In the same month, October's daily login event pays ten Intertwined Fate on its own — roughly five and a half times everything in the table above. Codes are a two-minute chore with a small payout, not a strategy.
Why do some live codes quietly cancel each other?
This is the part that generates most of the "the code didn't work" complaints, and almost nobody publishes it.
HoYoverse publishes the underlying rule directly in the redemption page's own terms:
"The same character cannot use redemption codes of the same type more than once."
What HoYoverse does not publish is how to tell which codes share a type. The community answer, and the rule the Genshin Impact Wiki edits by, is that codes sharing their first four characters are one type — redeem any member and the rest are locked out for that account. That grouping is community-derived, not first-party, but it predicts the failures accurately. Two such groups are live right now.

Redeem one from each group and move on. Trackers listing all eight strings as separate rows are not lying — each string exists — but presenting them as eight separate rewards is misleading, and the failures afterwards look like expired codes when they are not.
Which codes are circulating but unconfirmed?
Each of these appears on exactly one feed. They may well work. They have not been corroborated, so they are not in the working table.

GENSHINGIFT deserves its own warning. It is handed out everywhere as the permanent 50-Primogem starter code. The Genshin Impact Wiki files it as expired with the note that it "hit max usage again as of May 20, 2026". IGN still lists it as active. Pocket Tactics splits the difference and appends "this code works periodically". A dated expiry claim beats an undated active claim, so treat GENSHINGIFT as a lottery ticket rather than a guarantee, and do not count its 50 Primogems in your total.

One aggregator still shows YOAL3V36XHS7, BALLETCOLLAB and DUGODWKRHAKDNJ as active, but that row traces to a wiki feed rather than an editorial check, and no publication that dates its entries still lists them. When an undated aggregator disagrees with a dated expiry, the dated claim wins.
Why are there no codes in HoYoverse's own in-game announcements?
Because HoYoverse does not put them there, and knowing that saves you a lot of refreshing.
On 30 September 2026 the live in-game announcement feed carried 37 notices. Pulled in full and searched end to end — roughly 89,000 characters of text — they contain zero redemption codes. Only three notices even use the word "redeem", and all three are about redeeming an event weapon or a cosmetic: the Silver Light sword from "Silverwing in Pursuit of the Moon", and a pair of Manekin cosmetic notices.
This matches what happened at the 7.1 launch, when the same check across every live notice, including the Version 7.1 Update Details itself, also returned nothing. Version launches are not a code event. Codes arrive with Special Programs — the pre-patch livestreams — and almost nowhere else.
When do the next Genshin Impact codes drop?
At the Version 7.2 Special Program. Each of the last two Special Programs produced three fresh codes, and 7.1's paid 100 Primogems apiece.
It has not been announced. The projection is 23–24 October 2026, with reasoning rather than a bare guess: Special Programs sit eleven to twelve days ahead of their patch (7.0's landed twelve days out, 7.1's eleven), and Version 7.2 projects to 4 November from seven consecutive 42-day Wednesday cycles. The confirming notice is the Version 7.2 Update Maintenance Preview, historically posted the Monday before launch.
Treat those dates as a planning window, not a fact, until HoYoverse posts the stream announcement to HoYoLAB. Our Genshin 7.2 release date page tracks that confirmation, and the 7.1 livestream codes page shows how the last batch behaved in practice.
How long do livestream codes really last?
Not 24 hours. That number is repeated constantly and it is not supported by anything HoYoverse has published — because HoYoverse has published no duration rule at all.
Three measured figures, none of them agreeing:
- Version 7.0: codes appeared in the official recap on 31 July 2026 at 13:15 UTC and expired 3 August at 04:00 UTC — about 62 hours 45 minutes.
- Version 7.1: the stream aired 12 September at 12:00 UTC and the codes expired 16 September at 04:00 UTC — about 88 hours.
- The wiki's editing rule: expiry "within 16 hours from its broadcast", extended by a further 48 hours since Version 5.3, which totals 64 hours.
The practical advice survives the uncertainty intact: redeem livestream codes the moment they appear. Neither measured window was shorter than two days, but no two were the same length, and nobody outside HoYoverse knows the rule.
How do you redeem a Genshin Impact code?
Use the official redemption page at genshin.hoyoverse.com/en/gift. Four things gate it:
- Adventure Rank 10 or above. Below that the page will accept nothing.
- A character already created on the server you are redeeming for — America, Europe, Asia, or TW/HK/MO. Picking the wrong server is the single most common failure.
- A linked HoYoverse account in User Center.
- Rewards arrive as in-game mail, valid 30 days by default.
That last one matters more than it sounds. HoYoverse's own support documentation states that expired mail is "automatically deleted upon expiration, even if the attached rewards have not been claimed yet", with no recovery path. Not opening the mail for a month wastes the code just as thoroughly as letting it expire.
Two more rules from the same official terms: each code is one use per account, and "Once a code is redeemed, the redemption cannot be revoked."
One safety note. There is no way to redeem a Genshin code with only a UID — the redemption endpoint rejects every unauthenticated request outright. The Rainbow's End: Resplendent Starlight - Daily Login Event runs 1 October 04:00 to 19 October 03:59, needs Adventure Rank 5, and pays ten Intertwined Fate across seven login days plus 80,000 Mora, a Dust of Enlightenment and eight Hero's Wit. Seven days out of eighteen means you can miss most of the window and still finish it — but it does not extend.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does my Genshin code say it is already redeemed when I have never used it? Almost always the shared-type rule. If you have already redeemed any code starting with the same four characters — any PLDX code, or any GS71 code — the rest of that group is permanently locked for your account. The error text does not distinguish between "you used this code" and "you used this code's type".
Can I redeem the same code on two different servers? No. Codes are tied to the account and the character you select, and a code is one use per account. If you play on two servers you have to choose which one receives it.
How long do I have to claim the rewards after redeeming? Thirty days by default, delivered as in-game mail. After that the mail is deleted automatically and the rewards go with it, with no way to restore them.
Are the GS71 codes safe to use? The group is real and one member is corroborated by more than one publication, but the strings mostly circulate socially. Redeem the best-sourced one, GS71XYNSYJ; the others will fail on the type rule rather than because they are fake.
Will there be new codes when Version 7.2 launches? Probably not at launch itself. Codes come from the Special Program that precedes a patch, projected 23–24 October, rather than from the update day. The 7.1 launch produced none at all.
Is 290 Primogems really all the codes are worth? For October, yes, across the eight confirmed codes. A Special Program month adds more on top: 7.1's three livestream codes paid 100 Primogems each, 300 in total. That is why the October stream matters far more than any code list.
Do I need Adventure Rank 10 for every code? Yes, the redemption page enforces it regardless of which code you are entering. There is no lower-rank exception.
