Quick answer (TLDR): On the official stores, GTA 6 costs £69.99 / £89.99 in the UK, €79.99 / €99.99 across the eurozone, C$109.99 / C$139.99 in Canada and A$129.95 / A$159.95 in Australia (Standard / Ultimate). The US price is $79.99 / $99.99. We pulled all 28 PlayStation Store regions live on October 23, 2026, and the Xbox Store matched them in 15 of the 16 markets we cross-checked (the exception is Mexico). Once you convert to dollars, the UK and Switzerland pay the most (about $94–97 for Standard) and Japan and India pay the least (about $62–63). At current prices, the Ultimate Edition Upgrade costs exactly the gap between the two editions ($20 / £20 / €20 / C$30 / A$30), so buying Standard now and upgrading later costs nothing extra.
How much is GTA 6 where you live? Most price guides only give the US $79.99 figure, and that number doesn't help much if you're shopping in pounds, euros or Canadian dollars. With 27 days until the November 19, 2026 launch and preload opening on November 12, we checked every regional storefront ourselves. This guide covers:
- The Standard and Ultimate price in 28 PlayStation Store regions, with 16 markets cross-checked against the Xbox Store
- What each price works out to in US dollars, ranked from cheapest to most expensive
- Why the UK and Europe look expensive (VAT is included) while the US and Canada don't (tax gets added at checkout)
- What the $20 Ultimate Edition Upgrade costs in each region, and why it changes the "which edition" decision
- Whether buying from a cheaper region is worth it (short version: no)
Sources: All prices were read directly from the official PlayStation Store listing (concept 10000730) and Microsoft's Xbox Store catalog on October 23, 2026. The $79.99 / $99.99 launch pricing comes from Rockstar's pre-order announcement. USD conversions use market rates from October 22, 2026 and are approximate. Store prices change, so check your own store before buying.
How much does GTA 6 cost in the UK, Europe, Canada and Australia?
These are the big four that most non-US readers ask about. Each price is identical on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
| Region | Standard Edition | Ultimate Edition | Ultimate Upgrade (Xbox Store) |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $79.99 | $99.99 | $20 |
| United Kingdom | £69.99 | £89.99 | £20 |
| Eurozone (Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Ireland) | €79.99 | €99.99 | €20 |
| Canada | C$109.99 | C$139.99 | C$30 |
| Australia | A$129.95 | A$159.95 | A$30 |
| New Zealand | NZ$139.95 | NZ$174.95 | NZ$35 |
The eurozone price is identical in all six euro stores we checked: Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and Ireland all list €79.99 / €99.99. Unlike some games, Rockstar didn't set a separate price for any euro country.
Both editions come with the Vintage Vice City Pack if you pre-order. A digital pre-order on either PlayStation or Xbox also includes a month of GTA+. Here's the PlayStation Store's offer text, verbatim:
"Pre-order or purchase Grand Theft Auto VI digital Standard Edition or Ultimate Edition on PlayStation Store by November 19, 2026 and receive: One month of GTA+ on PlayStation 5 to claim at no extra cost." — PlayStation Store, Grand Theft Auto VI listing
The PlayStation listing says the GTA+ month must be claimed by March 31, 2027 and that the subscription "continues until canceled", so set a reminder if you don't want to keep paying. The Xbox Store listing offers the same month on pre-orders placed before November 19, but it must be redeemed within 180 days of placing the pre-order. For the full bonus breakdown, see our GTA 6 pre-order bonuses guide.
What does GTA 6 cost in every country? (All 28 stores, ranked in USD)
Here's the full table, sorted from cheapest to most expensive Standard Edition once converted to US dollars. Local prices are exactly what the PlayStation Store showed on October 23, 2026 (for example the UK listing and the Canadian listing). Dollar figures use open.er-api.com market rates updated October 22, 2026 at 00:02 UTC, so treat them as approximate.
| Rank | Region | Standard (local) | Ultimate (local) | Standard ≈ USD | Ultimate ≈ USD |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Japan | ¥9,800 | ¥12,280 | $61.99 | $77.67 |

| 13 | Singapore | S$109 | S$136 | $85.33 | $106.46 |
| 14 | Brazil | R$449.90 | R$549.90 | $89.54 | $109.44 |
| 15 | Eurozone (6 stores) | €79.99 | €99.99 | $89.85 | $112.31 |
| 16 | Poland | 349 zł | 429 zł | $89.91 | $110.52 |
| 17 | Denmark | 599 kr | 749 kr | $90.00 | $112.54 |
| 18 | Sweden | 899 kr | 1,149 kr | $90.92 | $116.20 |
| 19 | Australia | A$129.95 | A$159.95 | $91.31 | $112.39 |
| 20 | South Africa | R1,499 | R1,899 | $91.54 | $115.97 |
| 21 | Czech Republic | 2,009 Kč | 2,499 Kč | $92.97 | $115.65 |
| 22 | United Kingdom | £69.99 | £89.99 | $93.74 | $120.52 |
| 23 | Switzerland | CHF 79.90 | CHF 99.90 | $96.90 | $121.16 |
Three things stand out:
- The spread is about $35. Switzerland's Standard Edition (≈$96.90) costs 56% more in dollar terms than Japan's (≈$61.99).
- Japan and India are the only big markets well under $65. Our read is that this is deliberate regional pricing rather than an exchange-rate fluke, but neither Rockstar nor the stores have said so.
- Mexico is the one place the two stores disagree. The PlayStation Store lists MX$1,292.24, but the Xbox Store lists MX$1,499 / MX$1,879. That's about $11 more on Xbox for the same game, so Mexican players should compare before buying.

Why does GTA 6 look more expensive in the UK and Europe?
Mostly because UK and EU prices include VAT, and US prices don't. The $79.99 sticker in the US is pre-tax, and sales tax is added at checkout depending on your state. In the UK, £69.99 already includes 20% VAT. Take the tax out of each price and the gap mostly disappears:
| Region | Shelf price | Tax included | Price before tax | ≈ USD before tax |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $79.99 | none (added at checkout) | $79.99 | $79.99 |
| Canada | C$109.99 | none (added at checkout) | C$109.99 | $78.30 |
| United Kingdom | £69.99 | 20% VAT | £58.32 | $78.11 |
| Germany | €79.99 | 19% VAT | €67.22 | $75.50 |
| France | €79.99 | 20% VAT | €66.66 | $74.87 |
| Australia | A$129.95 | 10% GST | A$118.14 | $83.01 |
So in these six markets, the pre-tax price lands at roughly $75–83. A UK player isn't really paying $14 more than an American. They're paying VAT that's already in the price. An American in a state with 7% sales tax pays about $85.59 at checkout, which narrows the gap a lot.
Australia is the one big Western market that stays a bit high after tax (≈$83 before GST). That's normal for AAA games there.
How much is the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition Upgrade?
The Ultimate Edition Upgrade is already listed as a separate product. Here's what Microsoft's Xbox Store catalog showed on October 23, 2026 (US listing):
| Region | Upgrade price | Gap between Standard and Ultimate |
|---|---|---|
| US | $20 | $20 |
| UK | £20 | £20 |
| Eurozone | €20 | €20 |
| Canada | C$30 | C$30 |
| Australia | A$30 | A$30 |
| Japan | ¥2,480 | ¥2,480 |
| India | ₹1,500 | ₹1,500 |
| South Korea | ₩23,000 | ₩23,000 |
At current listed prices, the upgrade costs exactly the difference between the two editions in every region we checked. In practice that means:
- Buying Standard and upgrading later costs the same as buying Ultimate on day one, as long as prices don't change
- There's little reason to pay for Ultimate now "just in case"
- Because the boxed copy is a download code, physical buyers end up with a digital copy that the upgrade is designed for
The PlayStation Store describes the upgrade as "an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story". Among the extras it lists are the '95 Grotti Cheetah and the Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers. If you're still deciding, our Ultimate vs Standard breakdown covers what's in it.
Our take: Buy Standard unless you're sure you want the extras. At today's prices the upgrade costs the same as the gap, so waiting until you've played a few hours costs nothing extra. Store prices can change, so check before you upgrade.
Is GTA 6 cheaper on PS5 or Xbox?
No. The price is the same on both in 15 of the 16 markets we cross-checked on Xbox. The US, UK, eurozone, Canada, Australia, Japan, India, Brazil, Poland, Turkey, Switzerland, South Korea, South Africa, Sweden and New Zealand all show identical Standard and Ultimate prices on both stores. The only exception was Mexico, where PlayStation is cheaper. (For the Xbox check, the eurozone counted as one market. We didn't check Hong Kong, Singapore, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Denmark or the Czech Republic on Xbox.)
Both stores include a month of GTA+ with a pre-order, but the redemption terms differ: PlayStation's must be claimed by March 31, 2027, and Xbox's within 180 days of the pre-order. For the hardware side, see our PS5 vs Xbox Series X guide for GTA 6.

Can you save money by buying GTA 6 from a cheaper region?
In practice, no, and it isn't worth the risk. Digital purchases are tied to your account's region, and each regional store generally only accepts payment methods and gift cards from that region. Japan's ¥9,800 price looks tempting, but you'd need a Japanese account funded with Japanese credit. On top of that:
- The licence stays on the foreign account. Purchases can't be transferred to your main account, and the GTA+ offer is non-transferable and tied to the account that bought the game. (PS5 Console Sharing can let other profiles on the same console play it, but you don't own it on your main account.)
- Platform terms generally don't allow setting up accounts with false region details. Getting flagged on an account you've spent money on is a bad trade for $15.
- Grey-market keys are an unofficial channel. Nothing official covers you if a code turns out to be invalid or revoked.
The legitimate way to pay less is to watch for retailer discounts on the physical code-in-a-box. Retailers set their own prices, and Black Friday falls on November 27, eight days after launch. Our where-to-pre-order guide explains why the boxed copy has no disc.
What are players saying about the GTA 6 price?
In r/GTA6 this week, the price itself gets less attention than what you get for it. In one thread asking whether shops are locked behind Ultimate, replies pointed out that only a handful of stores are exclusive to the Ultimate Edition. Several players called the idea that Standard owners can't customise cars or visit tattoo parlours a misreading of the announcement, and others joked that Standard buyers would have to "sleep in a cardboard box". The consensus is the same as ours: Standard is the full game, and Ultimate is optional extras.
