The HSR 4.6 Phase 2 banners open on October 21, 2026 (server time), and they swap one rerun for another: Evanescia leaves, Mortenax Blade returns, and Pearl stays. This guide covers exactly what is on each Warp, what Mortenax Blade's kit actually does at E0, how the pity carries over, and a straight answer on who should pull. Everything here applies to Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.6 "Dance With the Beast Before Moonrise", which runs until November 11, 2026, 06:00 (UTC+8).
Quick answer (TLDR): Phase 2 of Version 4.6 runs October 21 to November 10, 2026. The Character Event Warps are "Now I Am Become Blade" (Mortenax Blade rerun, Fire, Nihility) and "An Ocean in a Pearl" (Pearl, Ice, Elation, carried over from Phase 1). Both share the rate-up 4-stars Qingque, Xueyi and Misha. The Light Cone Warps feature Reforged in Hellfire (Mortenax Blade) and Colors for Tomorrow (Pearl). Pull Mortenax Blade if your teams attack often and need a damage amplifier; pull Pearl if you already run Elation. Evanescia and her Light Cone leave when Phase 1 ends. What are the HSR 4.6 Phase 2 banners?
HoYoverse revealed the full Version 4.6 Warp schedule in the Special Program on September 20, and the major trackers agree on the line-up: Pocket Tactics, Game8 and the community wiki all list the same four Phase 2 Warps and dates. HoYoverse posts the in-game Event Warp notice when the phase opens, so check the Warp screen before you spend.
| Warp | Type | Featured 5-star | Rate-up 4-stars | Dates |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Now I Am Become Blade | Character (rerun) | Mortenax Blade (Fire, Nihility) | Qingque, Xueyi, Misha | Oct 21 to Nov 10, 2026 |
| An Ocean in a Pearl | Character (new, both phases) | Pearl (Ice, Elation) | Qingque, Xueyi, Misha | Sep 28 to Nov 10, 2026 |
| Bygone Reminiscence | Light Cone (rerun) | Reforged in Hellfire (Nihility) | Planetary Rendezvous, Post-Op Conversation, Boundless Choreo | Oct 21 to Nov 10, 2026 |
| Brilliant Fixation | Light Cone (new, both phases) | Colors for Tomorrow (Elation) | Planetary Rendezvous, Post-Op Conversation, Boundless Choreo | Sep 28 to Nov 10, 2026 |
Three practical points follow from that table:
- Evanescia leaves on October 21. Her rerun, "The Demoiselle in Charge", and her Light Cone Until the Flowers Bloom Again are Phase 1 only. If you want her, you have about two days.
- Pearl does not leave. Her banner spans both phases, so there is no rush to pull her on October 20.
- The 4-stars do not change. Qingque (Quantum, Erudition), Xueyi (Quantum, Destruction) and Misha (Ice, Destruction) are on every 4.6 Character Warp. All three sit in C tier on our HSR tier list, so treat 4-star drops as a bonus, not a reason to pull.
Phase 2 also opens the "Interastral Peace Gala: One Take" combat event, which the official Version 4.6 update notice dates from October 21, 2026, 12:00 (server time) to November 11, 2026, 03:59 (UTC+8).
Who is Mortenax Blade and what does his kit do?
Mortenax Blade launched in Version 4.3 on June 1, 2026, on a banner that ran until June 24 alongside Sampo, Luka and Tingyun. This is his first rerun. HoYoverse's own Version 4.3 update notice describes him in one sentence:
"Mortenax Blade is a damage-dealing character who deploys a special Zone to gain enhancements and brand-new abilities. While the Zone is active, ally targets can frequently inflict DEF-reducing and Vulnerability debuffs on enemies, and also trigger Mortenax Blade's additional Skill Follow-Up ATK." (HoYoverse, Version 4.3 Update Details)
In practice he is two things at once: an HP-scaling Fire damage dealer, and a team-wide damage amplifier that gets stronger the more often your other units attack. The numbers below are E0 values at maximum Trace level (Ultimate and Talent Lv. 10, Skill Lv. 10), taken from the in-game ability text as mirrored on the community wiki.
How does the Zone work?
His first Ultimate, Fornax Ex Corpore, inflicts "Balefire Bind" on all enemies: DEF -30% and DMG taken +50% for 2 turns. He then spends 20% of his Max HP to deploy a Zone and enter "Infinite Fury", which gives him +20% CRIT Rate and +60% CRIT DMG, enhances his Basic ATK, unlocks his Skill and swaps his Ultimate for Tenax Per Ignem, an AoE hit for 350% of his Max HP.
The Zone runs on its own countdown with a fixed SPD of 70 on the Action Order. When it reaches its turn, the Zone ends. If he takes a killing blow while the Zone is up, he does not go down: the Zone ends and he restores 50% of his Max HP instead.
Why does he reward teams that attack often?
His Talent, All Karma Comes Due, is the reason tier lists rate him so highly. While the Zone is active, every attack any ally makes on an enemy re-applies Balefire Bind and gives Mortenax Blade 1 Charge. At 9 Charge he regenerates 25 Energy and casts his Skill again as a Follow-Up ATK. His Skill costs 10% of his Max HP instead of a Skill Point, so he does not compete with your support for SP.
Two Traces push this further:
- Heart, Refined ad Infinitum: while the Zone is active, all allies deal 50% more DMG. If another Nihility character is on the team, allies' Ultimate DMG rises by a further 75%; otherwise his own DMG rises by 75%.
- Soul, Tempered ad Mortem: while the Zone is active, enemies target him more, he takes 50% less DMG and receives 50% more healing, and every hit he takes adds Balefire Bind and 1 Charge.
The result is a unit whose value scales with action count. Teams that hit many times per cycle, such as follow-up and extra-turn teams, feed his Charge fastest and get the most out of the 50% team DMG bonus.
Which Eidolons and Light Cone matter?
E0 is a complete character. If you go further, E1 and E2 are the meaningful stops:
| Upgrade | Effect | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| E1 | While the Zone is active, all enemies' All-Type RES -20%; the Fury countdown is delayed 15% after his Talent Skill | Large team-wide damage gain; best value per copy |
| E2 | Allies' Ultimate DMG counts as Follow-Up ATK, Follow-Up DMG +75%, Charge cap drops to 7 | Strongest in follow-up teams; expensive |
| Reforged in Hellfire (S1) | Max HP +30%, 20 Energy at the start of his turn once per wave, Skill applies "Purgatory": target takes +30% CRIT DMG, and a further +30% from the wearer | Good, not required; secure the character first |
Each 5-star Light Cone Warp costs up to 80 pulls with a 75% featured rate, so a guaranteed Reforged in Hellfire (up to 160 pulls) costs nearly as much as a guaranteed Mortenax Blade (up to 180). Most accounts should skip it unless they have already finished the teams they care about.
Should you pull Mortenax Blade in HSR 4.6 Phase 2?
Mortenax Blade sits in SS on our HSR tier list for Version 4.6, where at least two of the three sources we combine put him in their top band. The tier list notes that he fits follow-up teams beside Ashveil and Aventurine • Waveflair, as well as Elation and Fate teams. That flexibility is the strongest argument for him: he does not demand a dedicated shell.
Pull him if:
- You run Ashveil or Aventurine • Waveflair follow-up teams. They generate many attacks per cycle, which is exactly what fills his Charge.
- You need a Fire damage dealer that also raises team damage, rather than a pure selfish carry.
- You skipped him in June and you have a guaranteed 5-star (your last 5-star on a Character Warp was not the featured unit). That guarantee carries into Phase 2.
Skip or wait if:
- Your main team is Elation and you have not pulled Pearl yet. Pearl adds more to an Elation team than Mortenax Blade does.
- You have under roughly 90 pulls (14,400 Stellar Jade) and no guarantee. On a 50/50 you need up to 180 pulls (28,800 Stellar Jade) to be certain.
- You only want a single-target hypercarry. His damage is spread across AoE Skill and Ultimate hits, and half his value is the buff he gives the rest of the team.
Pearl or Mortenax Blade: which should you pull first?
Pearl is the only new 5-star in Version 4.6, and her banner runs through Phase 2. The official update notice describes her this way: "Pearl is a defense character who consumes 'Certified Banger' to block DMG for all allies. Her Ultimate advances a teammate's action, and can grant that unit an extra turn with massive Punchline and 'Certified Banger' under certain conditions. She also restores HP and dispels debuffs for all allies."
The two banners solve different problems, so the choice comes down to your roster:
| Your account | Pull first | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Already runs Elation (Silver Wolf LV.999, Evanescia, Yao Guang) | Pearl | Elation sustain that also advances or grants extra turns to a teammate |
| Follow-up team (Ashveil, Aventurine • Waveflair) | Mortenax Blade | Frequent attacks feed his Charge; 50% team DMG while his Zone is up |
| No limited sustain yet, mixed teams | Pearl, then reassess | She heals, cleanses and blocks DMG for all allies |
| Needs a Fire damage dealer | Mortenax Blade | HP-scaling Fire AoE plus DEF shred and Vulnerability |
| Saving for Version 4.7 | Neither | Pity and guarantee carry over to the next Character Warp |
Both are Character Event Warps, so they share one pity counter and one 50/50 guarantee. You can put 40 pulls into Pearl and then switch to Mortenax Blade without losing anything; the next 5-star you hit lands on whichever banner you are pulling on.
How much Stellar Jade do you need for Phase 2?
Each Warp costs one Star Rail Special Pass, or 160 Stellar Jade. The Character Event Warp rules, as listed in the in-game Warp details and on the community wiki, are:
- A 5-star is guaranteed by the 90th pull at the latest.
- Each 5-star has a 50% chance to be the featured character; if you lose, the next 5-star is the featured one.
- The worst case for a guaranteed featured 5-star is therefore 180 pulls (28,800 Stellar Jade).
- Pity and the guarantee carry over to the next Character Event Warp, including into Version 4.7.
Light Cone Event Warps are cheaper on the worst case: a 5-star by the 80th pull, 75% featured, so up to 160 pulls (25,600 Stellar Jade) for a guaranteed Reforged in Hellfire or Colors for Tomorrow.
Before you pull, collect the free currency still on the table. Our Honkai Star Rail codes page lists every active redemption code and is updated whenever one is added or expires.
What should F2P players do in Phase 2?
A free-to-play account rarely earns enough for two limited 5-stars in one version, so Phase 2 is a choice, not a shopping list. The plan that wastes the least:
- Count your pulls including pity. If you are already at 60 pity with a guarantee, you need far fewer than 90 pulls.
- Pick the unit that finishes a team you already use. One completed team clears more endgame than two half-built ones.
- Ignore both Light Cone banners unless you have the character at E0 and nothing better to spend on.
- Pull late in the phase. Pearl and Mortenax Blade are both available until November 10, so you can clear the new Pure Fiction ("Imagined Words", from October 19) and Apocalyptic Shadow first and see which team actually struggles.

Is Mortenax Blade on the HSR 4.6 Phase 2 banner? Yes. His Character Event Warp "Now I Am Become Blade" returns for Phase 2 with Qingque, Xueyi and Misha as the rate-up 4-stars, and his Light Cone Reforged in Hellfire returns on the Bygone Reminiscence Light Cone Warp.
Is Pearl still available in Phase 2? Yes. Pearl's banner "An Ocean in a Pearl" and her Light Cone Colors for Tomorrow run through both phases of Version 4.6, until November 10, 2026.
Does pity carry over from Pearl to Mortenax Blade? Yes. All Character Event Warps share one pity counter and one 50/50 guarantee, so progress on Pearl's banner counts on Mortenax Blade's banner and carries into the next version.
