Quick answer: Beating the Modern Warfare 4 campaign unlocks 16 rewards: 8 Base Operators (Cho, Dallas, Luca, Oh-Ji, Kal, Dunn, West and Park), 3 Double XP Tokens, 2 Double Weapon XP Tokens, the "No More Rules" Calling Card, the "Ready Line" Loading Screen and the "Gone Dark" Emblem. You earn them in a fixed order as you clear the 16 missions. None of them can be used until October 23, 2026, when Multiplayer and DMZ go live at full launch. Activision's own reward graphic puts the operators at missions 1, 4, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 16, so several of the one-reward-per-mission tables going around get the back half wrong.

TL;DR
- 16 rewards, 16 missions, fixed order. That's 8 operators, 5 XP tokens (3 Player 2XP + 2 Weapon 2XP) and 3 cosmetics. All of it comes from Activision's Campaign Now Live post.
- Operator unlocks by mission (from Activision's graphic): Cho/"Chow" (1), Dallas (4), Luca (7), Oh-Ji/"Ohji" (9), Kal (11), Dunn (13), West (15), Park (16).
- Usable from October 23. Activision says the rewards "will be available for use in Multiplayer and DMZ upon the full game launch," so don't expect them on day one of DMZ Early Access (October 20).
- The real value is the 5 tokens. MW4 tokens only count down while you're in a match (Push Square), so campaign tokens become pure launch-week leveling fuel.
- Time cost: about 7–9 hours for a normal run (GameRant). That leaves plenty of room to finish before the 23rd.
Campaign Early Access went live on October 16 for anyone who digitally pre-ordered the Standard Digital or Vault Edition. That covers Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, PS5, Battle.net, Steam and Switch 2. It runs right up to the October 23 launch. If you haven't started yet, here's what's actually worth unlocking and how to turn it into a faster start in multiplayer. (Still can't get the campaign to boot? Our early-access crash and launch fix guide covers it.)
What are all 16 Modern Warfare 4 campaign rewards?
Activision lists the completion rewards in the exact order you earn them. Here's the official sequence, with the official count by type underneath:
| # in order | Reward | Type |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | "Cho" Base Operator | Operator |
| 2 | "No More Rules" Calling Card | Cosmetic |
| 3 | Double XP Token | 2XP |
| 4 | "Dallas" Base Operator | Operator |
| 5 | "Ready Line" Loading Screen | Cosmetic |
| 6 | "Luca" Base Operator | Operator |
| 7 | "Gone Dark" Emblem | Cosmetic |
| 8 | "Oh-Ji" Base Operator | Operator |
| 9 | Double XP Token | 2XP |
| 10 | "Kal" Base Operator | Operator |
| 11 | Double Weapon XP Token | Weapon 2XP |
| 12 | "Dunn" Base Operator | Operator |
| 13 | Double Weapon XP Token | Weapon 2XP |
| 14 | "West" Base Operator | Operator |
| 15 | Double XP Token | 2XP |
| 16 | "Park" Base Operator | Operator |
Totals: 8 Base Operators, 3 Double XP Tokens, 2 Double Weapon XP Tokens, 1 Calling Card, 1 Loading Screen, 1 Emblem.
In Activision's words: "The Modern Warfare 4 Campaign includes completion rewards as players progress through the various missions, all of which will be available for use in Multiplayer and DMZ upon the full game launch." (callofduty.com)
One naming quirk: the blog text says "Cho" and "Oh-Ji", but the official reward graphic labels the same operators "CHOW" and "OHJI." Same unlocks, two spellings. Expect the in-game name to match one of them.
Which mission unlocks each MW4 campaign operator?
This is where a lot of guides go wrong. Several of the tables ranking right now just pair reward #1 with mission 1, reward #2 with mission 2, and so on. That puts Luca at mission 6, Oh-Ji at 8 and West at 14. Activision's own reward graphic disagrees. Each operator card reads "Unlocked after Campaign Mission X":
| Operator | Unlocked after (official graphic) |
|---|---|
| Cho ("Chow") | Mission 1 |
| Dallas | Mission 4 |
| Luca | Mission 7 |
| Oh-Ji ("Ohji") | Mission 9 |
| Kal | Mission 11 |
| Dunn | Mission 13 |
| West | Mission 15 |
| Park | Mission 16 (final mission) |
The calling card, loading screen, emblem and five tokens drop in between, in the order shown above. Activision hasn't published which specific mission awards each non-operator item. Because the order is fixed, though, you can bracket them. The calling card and first 2XP token land between missions 1 and 4. The "Gone Dark" Emblem comes between 7 and 9. Both Weapon 2XP tokens arrive between missions 11 and 15. The last Double XP token lands in the final stretch with West and Park.
Bottom line: if you want a specific operator, play through to that mission number. The last Double XP token arrives at the very end (mission 15 or 16; Activision doesn't say which), so plan on finishing the campaign if you want all five.
What are the 16 MW4 campaign missions?
Here's the mission list as reported by GameRant and GamesAtlas, in play order. The operator column uses Activision's mission numbers:
| Mission | Name | Operator unlocked |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mayhem | Cho |
| 2 | Out In The Cold | — |
| 3 | Following Orders | — |
| 4 | Hired Gun | Dallas |
| 5 | Losing Ground | — |
| 6 | Traffic | — |
| 7 | Gone Dark | Luca |
| 8 | Assassins | — |
| 9 | Survivors | Oh-Ji |
| 10 | Stranded | — |
| 11 | Defection | Kal |
| 12 | Counter Attack | — |
| 13 | Escape | Dunn |
| 14 | Entrenched | — |
| 15 | Decapitation | West |
| 16 | Greater Good | Park |
Mission 11 shows up as both "Defection" and "Deflection" across guides. The story (a North Korean airbase assault with a defector's help) points to Defection. Entrenched (mission 14) is the Hajin City mission players already got a taste of in the beta. Our Entrenched beta breakdown covers it.
You play mostly as Private Park Hyun Jun, fighting a full-scale invasion across the Korean Peninsula, while John Price runs his own hunt in parallel. That's why Park is the final reward. For the wider story setup, see our MW4 campaign story and villain explainer.
When can you actually use MW4 campaign rewards?
From October 23, 2026, in Multiplayer and DMZ. That's Activision's wording: "upon the full game launch." The rollout looks like this:
- October 16 — Campaign Early Access (digital pre-orders). You earn rewards here.
- October 20 — DMZ Early Access. Activision's post ties reward availability to full launch, not to this date. If they show up in DMZ early, treat it as a bonus.
- October 23 — Full launch. Operators, cosmetics and tokens are confirmed usable in Multiplayer and DMZ.
Our unlock schedule guide has the region-by-region times for each wave. One thing to keep separate: campaign progress does not give you weapon XP, military rank or camo progress. Only these listed rewards carry over. We explain the full split in does MW4 campaign progress carry over to multiplayer.
Correction note: before Activision published this list, our campaign early-access leveling guide and the carry-over explainer linked above said no campaign-to-multiplayer rewards had been confirmed. That part of both is now outdated. The 16 rewards above are official, though they're still cosmetics and XP tokens rather than direct weapon or camo progress.

How should you use the 5 campaign Double XP tokens at launch?
Eight Base Operators look nice. The five XP tokens are what actually speed up your launch week. Two rule changes make them more valuable than in past games:
- Tokens count down in-match only. Infinity Ward confirmed that MW4 Double XP timers pause outside matches, in menus, lobbies and matchmaking (Push Square). None of the timer gets wasted in the lobby. Our 2XP pause explainer covers the details.
- There's a daily cap on promotional 2XP. Activision's MW4 bonus-content page limits promotional tokens to "40 hours of each 2XP Token per account across all promotions; one hour maximum of each 2XP Token can be used in-game per day" (Activision Support). Activision hasn't said whether campaign reward tokens count as "promotional." Plan as if the one-hour-per-type-per-day limit applies, and you won't be caught out.
Activision's post also doesn't list how long each campaign token lasts. Check the duration in your inventory on October 23 before you plan around it.
Two ways to play your campaign tokens:
- Spend early (best if you main one gun). Run a Double Weapon XP Token in your first sessions on your main weapon, because early attachments matter most in week one. Add a Player 2XP Token to reach the first rank gates for perks, equipment and Create-a-Class slots. Our fastest day-1 weapon leveling guide explains which modes to queue.
- Save for later (best if you have lots of free 2XP). If you already hold Monster Energy, email-verification or pre-order tokens, use those first and bank the campaign tokens for a later grind session. Tokens only tick down in matches, so a banked token loses nothing while it sits.
- Either way, check the duration first. Look at each token's length in your inventory on launch day. Then pace them around the one-hour-per-type daily limit if it applies. We counted every free source in all free MW4 Double XP tokens and the daily cap.
Is it worth finishing the MW4 campaign before launch?
For most multiplayer players, yes. Five XP tokens for roughly 8 hours of play is a good trade, and it's the only way to get the eight Base Operators. Early reports put the campaign at about 7–9 hours on an average run (GameRant), and you have a full week of early access.
Two time sinks to know about:
- Stranded (mission 10) is the big open-area mission. In an r/CallOfDuty campaign thread, one player compared it to Far Cry and said they lost about three hours there exploring and enjoyed it. They added that it goes much faster if you don't wander and use fast travel. Another player in the same thread called the campaign's free-roam style map its weakest part. If you're chasing rewards, stick to the objectives here.
- Trophy hunters need two runs. GameRant counts 18 campaign trophies, and one requires finishing on Realism, which only unlocks after your first completion. Rewards don't need a second run, though. For the trophy picture, see why MW4 has no Platinum trophy.
If you pre-ordered physically, you don't get Campaign Early Access. You'll earn these rewards after October 23 instead. That means burning campaign hours during launch week, when everyone else is leveling guns.
Lock in your MW4 setup before launch
Campaign tokens give you a head start. They don't skip the grind: the campaign doesn't level your Multiplayer guns or move the camo track, so that work starts when you jump into Multiplayer or DMZ. If you'd rather spend launch week playing than grinding, we've got that covered:
Lock in your MW4 setup before launch: bot lobbies, camo and weapon leveling are ready from day one.
- MW4 Bot Lobbies: level weapons and farm camo challenges in low-pressure lobbies from the moment multiplayer unlocks. They pair perfectly with your campaign Weapon 2XP tokens.
- MW4 Mastery Camo Unlock: skip straight to the top-tier camos.
- MW4 Weapon Leveling: max your main guns without the hundred-match grind.
- MW4 Account Leveling: rank up fast and unlock your full loadout.

FAQ
What do you get for beating the MW4 campaign? Sixteen rewards in total: eight Base Operators (Cho, Dallas, Luca, Oh-Ji, Kal, Dunn, West and Park), three Double XP Tokens, two Double Weapon XP Tokens, the "No More Rules" Calling Card, the "Ready Line" Loading Screen and the "Gone Dark" Emblem, per Activision's official campaign post.
Do MW4 campaign rewards carry over to multiplayer? Yes. Activision says all of them "will be available for use in Multiplayer and DMZ upon the full game launch" on October 23, 2026. Campaign play does not give weapon XP, rank or camo progress, though. Only the listed rewards transfer.
Why aren't my MW4 campaign rewards showing up? Most likely because Multiplayer and DMZ aren't fully live yet. Activision ties reward availability to the October 23 full launch. If they're still missing after launch, confirm you're signed in to the same Activision account you played the campaign on. Then restart the game so your account data resyncs.
Which mission unlocks the Park operator in MW4? Mission 16, the final mission, "Greater Good." Activision's reward graphic shows Park as "Unlocked after Campaign Mission 16," so you have to finish the whole campaign.
Do you have to play on Veteran to get MW4 campaign rewards? Activision doesn't tie the rewards to a difficulty, and guides report they unlock on any difficulty. Play on whatever setting gets you through fastest. Higher difficulties only matter for trophies.
How long do the MW4 campaign Double XP tokens last? Activision's campaign post doesn't state the duration. Check your token inventory at launch. MW4 tokens only count down during matches, and Activision limits promotional 2XP to one hour of each token type per day, so plan around that cap.
