Quick answer
NBA 2K27 trick or treat is live in The City during The Long Night, and it pays out at about 34 to 36 orange floor markers, one in front of nearly every store and game-mode entrance. Walk onto a marker, press the on-screen Trick or Treat button (Circle on PlayStation, B on Xbox), and the prize lands instantly. In the player reports we found, totals ran from 2,500 to 17,000 VC per lap, and several landed around 12,000 to 14,000. 2K lists the event for October 30 to November 1, 2026, and gives no end time. Our estimate from the in-game countdown is Sunday morning, around 9 AM ET, give or take an hour, so don't leave it until Sunday night. This guide applies to Season 2 and was last checked on October 31, 2026.

Where are all the trick or treat locations in NBA 2K27?
2K doesn't publish a map, so the best one is community-made. Creator SHOOT posted this annotated City map on October 30, and it's the image at the top of this guide. The red lines are storefront routes with a marker at every shop along them, and the red dots are the spots that are easy to miss.
Run them in this order:
- North loop. Five dots circle the area around Street Kings, Art of Shooting and Triple Threat Park. Creators also picked up rewards at the Gatorade Training Facility up here.
- East street. The long red line runs south past Ante-Up and MyCOURT. This stretch is packed with shops, so walk it slowly.
- Southwest street. The next line runs past Starting 5, The REC and Proving Grounds, including the NBA Store.
- Northwest street. The last line passes Casual Corner, The Theater and Crew HQ.
- The two strays. One dot sits on the walkway out to the Arena, by the players' entrance. The other sits in the south plaza by the Event Center. These are the two most players miss.
HAUNTING says on video: "all the locations are just going to be the stores." In a single walkthrough, creators named these stops:

You don't need to enter a building, a game or The Park. Brotha Jones checked The Park after finishing a lap and found nothing, and 24kBandz checked around the buildings and reached the same conclusion: the spots are only in The City.
How do you trick or treat in NBA 2K27?
It's quick at every stop:
- Load into The City. 2K's Long Night Guide only asks you to "head into The City." No quest or sign-up is needed.
- Find the orange marker. It's a small glowing orange tile on the floor, as in the screenshot above.
- Press the prompt. "Trick or Treat" appears at the bottom of the screen. Press the button shown.
- Dismiss the banner and move on. Prizes are granted immediately, according to 2K.
The published walkthroughs run from about three to nine minutes, so one lap costs very little time. If the markers don't appear straight away, try reloading The City. Brotha Jones first thought a shirt had triggered them, then confirmed on a second account: "no, you don't need a shirt."
What rewards can you get from trick or treat?
2K lists three prize groups: VC, Skill Boosts and "tons of Halloween themed apparel and items." It doesn't publish the odds or the full list. This is what showed up across six walkthroughs from October 30, by Brotha Jones, 24kBandz, HAUNTING, llockk, JerzFlow201 and sparkyant:

Two points are worth knowing before you start:
- Rewards are random. Brotha Jones ran both of his accounts and got different prizes: "It's not preset. Everybody get different stuff."
- Duplicates happen. 2K says so directly: "Keep in mind there is a chance to receive duplicate prizes." Expect repeat masks and indicators.
Some items look recycled. 24kBandz said a shot release and another item looked identical to last year's. That's one creator's read, not a confirmed list.
How much VC can you get from trick or treat?
We don't have a representative sample, only selected reports from October 30, but several land in the low teens. They come from this r/NBA2k thread, this one and one creator video:

Is the event worse than last year? Players think so, though 2K publishes no comparison. One r/NBA2k reply says last year was "like 20k vc," and llockk remembers 25,000 to 30,000 in earlier years. HAUNTING blames the smaller City, since fewer stores means fewer stops.
Ignore the 1,000,000 VC thumbnails. Several videos repeat that someone won a million VC, but none of the six we read shows it happening, and no player in either Reddit thread reports it. The biggest single prize shown on video was 3,000 VC. One Reddit reply says "Max i got was 5k," but it isn't clear whether that means one prize or the full lap. If a bigger drop gets posted with a clip, we'll add it here.
How do you get 2X REP during The Long Night?
This is the part most players miss. 2K's guide confirms "You'll be getting 2XREP during The Long Night," which settles the question we flagged in our 2X REP schedule: it isn't limited to October 31. The in-game event screen says:
"Wear eligible clothing sold in pop-up shops around The City and earn 2XREP! Eligible games include courts in: The Park, The Theater, Ante-Up. Triple Threat Park will award 2XREP for MyTEAM."
The screen points you to the pop-up shops, and you shouldn't need them. JerzFlow201 priced Halloween glasses at 5,000 VC in a pop-up shop, then got a Halloween helmet from a marker, put it on and saw the 2X REP icon appear above his player. "You can walk around, gain a reward before you even buy anything," he says.
So the cheapest order is:
- Do the lap first. You'll almost certainly collect a Halloween item.
- Equip it and look for the 2X REP logo over your MyPLAYER.
- Play The Park, The Theater or Ante-Up. For MyTEAM REP, play Triple Threat Park. 2K's guide ties the apparel to MyCAREER games and lists Triple Threat Park separately.
- Only buy from a pop-up shop if no item triggers the icon. JerzFlow says a ring doesn't count, so check before paying.
The free-item route is one creator's test on one item, not a 2K statement. The icon is your proof, so play once it's showing. The REC isn't on the list. The 2X REP coin from a marker is separate, lasts one hour and is worth saving for a real session. Our rep guide shows where to spend it.
When does the NBA 2K27 trick or treat event end?
The official answer is November 1, 2026, and 2K gives no time. The in-game clock gets you closer. llockk's event screen, which we date to Friday morning US time, read 47 hours, 33 minutes left, with "Season ends: 28 days 1 hr" beside it. Season 2 passes expire at 7:59 AM PT on November 27, so that screen dates to roughly 10 AM ET on October 30. Add the countdown and the event would close around 9 AM ET (6 AM PT) on Sunday, November 1.
That's our own estimate, not a 2K time. The season counter is rounded and US clocks go back that same morning, so allow at least an hour either way. 24kBandz also calls it a 48-hour window. The practical advice: finish your lap by Saturday night. Your Events menu in The City shows the live countdown, and 2K itself says that's the place to confirm event times.
If you see an older date, that's a known mismatch. 2K's Season Events Guide lists The Long Night as October 20 to November 1, but the event-specific guide and the Seasons page both use the shorter window, which matches when the markers actually went live.
What should you do after your lap?
You've got a short 2X REP window and a little spare VC, so use both well:
- Don't spend the VC on the first thing you see. A haul of 12,000 won't move a build far, so hold it until you can afford a whole upgrade.
- Spend your play time in the right modes. The Park, The Theater and Ante-Up pay double this weekend. The REC doesn't, so save ranked REC sessions for later.
- Plan ahead. Season 2's next 2X REP apparel window is Amex on November 7, and Season 3 starts on November 27.

Is NBA 2K27 trick or treat over? Not as of October 31. 2K lists it through November 1, 2026 with no end time. We estimate about 9 AM ET that morning, so check the Events menu in The City.

Can you trick or treat more than once? 2K doesn't say whether markers reset daily or apply per build. On a second account, rewards were available again and came out different. If you have a second build, load it in and check whether the markers show.
Is trick or treat in The Park or MyTEAM? No. The markers are in The City, and creators who checked The Park found none. MyTEAM players get 2X REP in Triple Threat Park during the event.
Do Skill Boosts from trick or treat expire? 2K's guide doesn't say. Use them in your 2X REP games this weekend.
