When Does Your Once Human Novice Server End — and Do You Lose Your Base? (2026, PS5/Xbox/PC)

Short answer: a Once Human Novice (Manibus) server runs for about 68 days before its final four-week settlement phase, and when that phase ends the server closes. You do not lose your base permanently — the game saves it as a blueprint you re-place on your next server — and you keep every blueprint, Mod, accessory, recipe and currency. What you do lose is your character level (reset to 1), your Memetics, your map discovery, and the base as a physically-placed structure until you set it back down. If you left Novice early and panicked that you "messed up," you almost certainly didn't: leaving early and the server ending work the same way.

This guide is written for the live game as of Version 3.0.7 (September 28, 2026 PT) and applies identically on **PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series XS and PC** thanks to full cross-progression — the scenario cycle is the same on every platform.

Key takeaways

  • A Novice Manibus run is ~68 days (phases of roughly 4 / 6 / 6 / 12 / 12 / 28 days), ending in a 4-week settlement phase you can sit in or leave early.
  • You keep forever: character name and appearance, weapon/armor blueprints + star ratings, blueprint fragments, accessories, Mods, food recipes, Battle Pass/task progress, Main and Side Story progress, and currencies (Starchrom, Crystgin, Mitsuko's Marks, Silver Keys).
  • Your base is saved as a blueprint when you leave or when the server closes — re-place it on the new server. Pick up placed facilities (robot, coffee machine, dropped furniture) before saving so the blueprint sets down cleanly.
  • You reset: character level (back to 1), Memetics, map discovery, and your base's physical placement in the world.
  • Leaving Novice early vs staying gives the same outcome for your carry-over — the only difference is you forfeit the remaining Novice content and rewards you hadn't finished.

When does a Once Human Novice server end?

A Novice server is a Manibus (Novice) scenario instance, and like every seasonal server it advances through a fixed set of numbered phases on a calendar, then ends in a settlement phase. Per the official Scenario Phase Adjustments Notice, Manibus (Novice) runs its phases over roughly 4 / 6 / 6 / 12 / 12 / 28 days — about 68 days total, with that final 28-day block being the settlement phase.

So the practical answer: a Novice server lasts a little over two months, and the last four weeks are the wind-down. During that settlement phase the world stops advancing — no new phase content unlocks — and you decide what to do next.

Starry Studio describes the design directly in its "About Seasons and Scenarios" dev blog: "Once you unlock all the scenario content and the season has come to its settlement phase, you can sign up for a new scenario, take all your gains, and start a new adventure. Alternatively, you can stay on the same server until the settlement phase is over. This phase lasts for four weeks in our current scenarios."

One thing to get right: there is no global "season" clock. Every server runs its own phase timeline, and server-opening days differ by region. Your Novice server's end date depends on when that specific server opened — check the scenario bar in the top-right of your screen (ESC → the scenario panel) for your server's current phase and remaining time. Do not trust a generic "Season 5 ends on X" table from a 2024 guide; it does not apply to your server. Do you lose your base when a Once Human server transitions?

This is the question that makes new players panic — and the honest answer is no, you don't lose it permanently, but it does not physically carry over placed. Here's exactly what happens.

A furnished base interior in Once Human, the kind of built space saved as a blueprint when a server ends

When you leave a server, or when the server reaches the end of its settlement phase, the game automatically saves your base as a blueprint. Your house design, walls, floors and layout are preserved in that blueprint. On your next server you open the building menu, select the saved blueprint, and re-place the whole structure where you want it. You rebuild the materials cost, but you do not redesign from scratch.

The catch veterans will tell you every time: pick up your facilities and loose items before the blueprint saves. Things like the crafting benches, the robot, the coffee machine and any dropped furniture can make a blueprint refuse to set down cleanly on the new map if they're still placed when it saves. Pack them into storage first, then save.

What this means in plain terms:

  • Saved and reusable: your base design (as a blueprint).
  • Not carried over: the base as a built, placed structure in the old world, and the raw materials — you re-place and re-supply it on the new server.

So if you switched servers and spawned into an empty plot, your base isn't gone — it's in your saved blueprints, waiting to be placed. If you're rebuilding on a new server, our base building guide for beginners covers territory placement, power and defense layout.

What carries over when your Novice server ends?

Everything that represents real account progress is permanent across scenarios. Per the official seasons dev blog, when a scenario ends — or when you "exit a scenario halfway" — "you can take away the rewards you've earned (except for some extremely rare cases and items related to scenarios and Memetics)."

Concretely, you keep forever:

  • Character identity: name, body size, appearance, cosmetics, friends list.
  • Gear progression: Weapon and Armor Blueprints and their star ratings, Blueprint Fragments, Weapon Accessories, Mods, and learned food/furniture recipes (except those unlocked through Memetics).
  • Account progress: Battle Pass progress, task progress, Main Story and Side Story progress.
  • Currencies: Starchrom, Crystgin, Mitsuko's Marks, Silver Keys and other important materials.

This is the mechanic that makes Once Human not feel like a full wipe: your power as a player — the blueprints and Mods you've unlocked — never resets. Veterans rebuild fast on a new server precisely because their blueprint library carries over.

An energy core surrounded by chests and currency in Once Human, representing the gains and currencies that carry over between scenarios

Your captured Deviations, crafted items, regular resources (ammo, medicine) and materials move into Eternaland, your persistent personal hub. Energy Links convert into Astral Sand for building Eternaland — they do not carry over as Energy Links, which trips up anyone hoarding them. For exactly how that hub works and what lands in it, see our guide to Eternaland explained. For the complete item-by-item breakdown, read what carries over and what resets.

What resets when the scenario ends?

Some things are deliberately scenario-bound so that veterans and brand-new players stay close together on a fresh server:

  • Character level — reset to 1. The dev blog states levelling "and Memetics are considered part of the scenario experience and are closely linked to in-game pace and balance, so they will be reset according to scenario rules."
  • Memetics — reset, so you re-pick your tree for the new scenario's balance.
  • Map discovery and landmarks — rediscover the world.
  • Your base's physical placement — re-place from the saved blueprint.
  • Scenario-specific items and gear tied to Memetic specializations.

There's also an anti-snowball rule for carry-in: entering a new scenario, you spend Supply Points to pull items from your stored backpack into the new scenario — this caps how much gear and how many materials you can drag in from Eternaland on day one. It is intentional, and it's the reason starting a scenario late doesn't leave you hopelessly behind.

Should you leave Novice early or stay until it ends?

For your carry-over, it makes no difference — leaving early and the server ending both save your blueprints, Mods, currencies and base-blueprint the same way. The dev blog is explicit that you keep your rewards "even when… you exit a scenario halfway."

The real trade-off is content and rewards you haven't finished yet:

  • Stay if you still have Novice phase rewards, Battle Pass tiers, Mitsuko's Marks objectives or story missions you want to complete — these stop being available once you leave that server.
  • Leave early if you've done what you want in Novice and are ready for the harder Manibus (Normal/Hard) or a different scenario. Normal Manibus has tougher enemies and better rewards, and Novice exists mainly to teach the systems.

If you simply do nothing when the final phase ends: "If you haven't decided on which one to join when your server's last phase is over, your current server will be closed, and your character will return to Eternaland, where you can continue playing and sign up for a new scenario at any time." So there's no hard deadline that deletes you — worst case you land in Eternaland and pick a scenario whenever you're ready.

One more thing console players hit after the August 25, 2026 launch: a permanent (no-wipe) server is a separate option. At the end of a normal server's settlement phase, your character data can be merged into the matching permanent Manibus server, which only ever has the settlement phase and never ends — the right home if you never want to reset again. FAQ

How long is a Once Human Novice server? About 68 days. Manibus (Novice) runs phases of roughly 4 / 6 / 6 / 12 / 12 / 28 days, with the last 28-day block being the four-week settlement phase. Check the scenario bar in the top-right of your screen for your specific server's remaining time, since every server runs its own clock.

Do I lose my base when my server ends or I switch servers? Not permanently. The game automatically saves your base as a blueprint when you leave or the server closes, and you re-place it on your next server. You lose the physically-built structure and its materials, not the design. Pick up facilities and dropped furniture before it saves so the blueprint sets down cleanly.

I left Novice early and everything reset — did I mess up? Almost certainly not. Leaving early and the server ending give the same carry-over: you keep blueprints, Mods, accessories, recipes, currencies and your base-blueprint, and you reset level, Memetics and map discovery. The only thing you forfeit by leaving early is unfinished Novice content and rewards.

What carries over to the next scenario? Your character name and appearance; weapon and armor blueprints with star ratings; blueprint fragments, accessories and Mods; food/furniture recipes; Battle Pass and task progress; Main and Side Story progress; and currencies including Starchrom, Crystgin, Mitsuko's Marks and Silver Keys.

Do my Energy Links carry over? No — your Energy Links convert to Astral Sand in Eternaland, which you use to build your personal hub. Any guide that says Energy Links carry over as Energy Links is wrong.

Does my character level stay? No. Your level resets to 1 and your Memetics reset, because levelling is treated as part of each scenario's balance. Your gear blueprints and Mods are what make you strong again quickly.

What if I don't pick a new scenario when my server closes? Your character returns to Eternaland and the old server closes. You can keep playing in Eternaland and sign up for a new scenario whenever you like — there's no deadline that deletes your character.
