Roblox Plus Explained (2026): Price, Benefits & Why Premium Is Gone

If you subscribed to Roblox Premium last year and went to renew it in 2026, you found it gone. Roblox Premium was retired on April 30, 2026 and replaced by a new subscription, Roblox Plus — and the change is bigger than a rebrand. Plus doesn't work the way Premium did, most SEO articles you'll find still describe the dead Premium tiers, and if you trade Limiteds or buy Robux the difference actually matters. Here's exactly what changed, what it costs, and whether it's worth it — verified against Roblox's own Help Center.

Quick answer: what is Roblox Plus?

TL;DRRoblox Plus is Roblox's current paid membership, launched globally on April 30, 2026 at $4.99/month. It replaced Roblox Premium, which can no longer be purchased. The single biggest change: per Roblox's Help Center, "Roblox Plus is a benefits-only monthly subscription with no monthly stipend." Where old Premium handed you a fixed pile of Robux every month (450 / 1,000 / 2,200 by tier), Plus gives you no Robux stipend at all — instead you get a 10% discount on in-experience and avatar purchases (rising to 20% after your first 2 months), unlimited free private servers, fee-free Robux transfers, and trading access. Existing Premium members can keep their old plan, but nobody new can join it.

If you only take one thing away: Premium paid you in Robux; Plus pays you in discounts. Everything below is the detail — and why the "Premium 450/1000/2200" tables still floating around Google are wrong for 2026.

How much does Roblox Plus cost?

$4.99 USD per month. That's the only tier — there are no 450/1000/2200 pricing levels like Premium had, because those levels existed to sell you stipend Robux, and Plus doesn't include a stipend. Roblox introduced Plus globally on April 30, 2026 (Roblox Developer Forum, "Introducing Roblox Plus," April 2026).

A few practical notes:

  • You can still bundle Robux with it. The base subscription has no stipend, but Roblox offers purchase bundles that pair Plus with a one-time Robux amount if you want both in one transaction.
  • Payment methods narrowed. Unlike Premium, some players report Plus can't be paid for with Roblox credit in every region — check your own checkout screen.
  • Under-18 accounts need a parent or caregiver to approve certain actions (like Robux transfers). Roblox tied this to its 2026 age-based account and parental-control rollout.

What are the Roblox Plus benefits?

Straight from the official Help Center article (en.help.roblox.com/hc/en-us/articles/47967913158164-Roblox-Plus), Plus subscribers get:

BenefitDetail
Purchase discount10% off in-experience items, avatar items, and more — immediately on subscribing
Discount ramps upRises to 20% off after your first 2 months (i.e., from month 3)
Free private serversUnlimited free private servers in experiences that offer them
Robux transfersFee-free Robux transfers (under-18s need parent/caregiver approval)
Trading accessAccess to Roblox's marketplace / avatar-item (Limiteds) trading system
Profile badgeA distinct Plus logo on your profile

The 10%→20% discount is the core of the value proposition. If you regularly buy gamepasses, dev products, or avatar items, that discount is the thing that pays the $4.99 back — not a stipend.

Roblox Plus vs Roblox Premium: what actually changed?

This is the comparison every returning player needs, because the two work on fundamentally different models — currency delivery (Premium) vs spending savings (Plus):

Roblox Premium (retired)Roblox Plus (current)
StatusNo longer purchasable (since Apr 30, 2026)Live — the only membership you can buy
Price modelTiered: $4.99 / $9.99 / $19.99Flat $4.99/month
Monthly Robux stipendYes — 450 / 1,000 / 2,200 by tierNo stipend
Discount on purchasesNo10%, rising to 20% after 2 months
Bonus Robux on top-upsHistorically 10% extraNone (removed for everyone in 2026)
Private serversDiscountedFree, unlimited
Trading (Limiteds)YesYes
Profile badgePremium badge (now retired)Plus badge

Two traps to flag, because stale articles repeat them:

  • The "10% bonus Robux when you buy Robux" perk is dead. Roblox removed it in 2026 — and critically, it was removed even for legacy Premium holders (from May 30, 2026), along with the Premium profile badge. No 2026 subscription adds bonus Robux on a top-up anymore.
  • There is no "Premium 450 / 1000 / 2200 at $4.99 / $9.99 / $19.99" plan to sign up for. That's the pre-April-2026 model. If a guide is still selling you those tiers as current, it hasn't been updated.

What happened to my existing Roblox Premium subscription?

Per Roblox's Premium Membership Help Center article: existing Premium subscribers may keep their existing subscription — you weren't force-migrated. You continue to receive your tier's Robux stipend for as long as you stay subscribed.

The catches for legacy holders:

  • You can't re-subscribe or upgrade once you cancel — Premium is closed to new and returning sign-ups. Drop it and Plus is your only option.
  • The 10% bonus-Robux-on-purchase perk and the Premium profile badge were removed even for legacy Premium (from May 30, 2026).
  • Roblox gave affected members transitional perks around launch (a free stacked month of Plus was reported), but the durable state is: keep the stipend, lose the bonus and badge.

So if you're a long-time Premium subscriber whose main value was the monthly stipend, staying on Premium is usually right. If your value was the discounts and private servers, Plus is the better model.

Do you need Roblox Plus to trade?

Yes — to trade platform Limiteds, both players need Roblox Plus (or a legacy Premium subscription). Trading is a paid-membership feature; free accounts can't access Roblox's Limited-item trade window. This is separate from the in-experience trading inside games like Adopt Me! or Blox Fruits, which have their own trade windows and don't require Plus.

A couple of rules that catch new traders on the platform (Limiteds) system:

  • Robux added to a trade is charged a 30% fee, and is capped at 50% of the value of the items on your side (cap applied after the fee). This is why serious traders move value item-for-item.
  • Item-for-item trades carry no marketplace fee — the whole reason trading, not reselling, is how Limited value actually moves.
  • For Limited values and rare/projected status, the community-canonical source is rolimons.com (Limiteds only — it does not cover in-experience items like MM2 knives or Adopt Me pets).

If you trade in-game items and want to know what your stuff is worth, we keep dated, community-cross-checked value lists for the big economies: Adopt Me pet values, Blox Fruits fruit tiers, Murder Mystery 2 Godly & Chroma values, and Steal a Brainrot trade tiers.

How much do Robux cost in 2026?

Since Plus no longer hands you a stipend, most players fund purchases by buying Robux directly. A few facts that stay true regardless of the exact table:

  • Web/desktop is cheaper than the mobile app. Buying Robux on roblox.com or the Windows app avoids the app-store cut Apple/Google add on mobile, so the same dollar buys more Robux on desktop. Always start on the website.
  • The rate improves as the bundle gets bigger — the per-dollar Robux you get climbs at the larger price points, so one bigger purchase beats several small ones.
  • Prices vary by platform and region, and Roblox runs rotating promos (the store has shown "up to 25% more Robux" offers). Check the live amounts at roblox.com/upgrades/robux before buying — we won't quote an exact bundle table here because it shifts and differs web-vs-app.
  • Official gift cards (from real retail partners) redeem as Robux or credit at roblox.com/redeem and are a safe, legit way to buy.

⚠️ Never buy or sell Robux or Roblox items off-platform for real money. Roblox's Terms of Use explicitly prohibit "buying, selling, or trading Robux or virtual Roblox items outside the Roblox website" — such transactions are void and can get your account suspended or terminated. Enforcement is active. Buy Robux only from Roblox and authorised resellers.

For creators, the change to Plus doesn't touch DevEx: cashing Earned Robux out to USD still runs through the Developer Exchange at its published rates, and stipend/purchased Robux were never DevEx-eligible anyway.

Is Roblox Plus worth it?

It depends on how you play — here's the decision in one line each:

  • Worth it if you spend Robux regularly (gamepasses, avatar items, dev products) and/or play with friends in private servers. The 10%→20% discount plus unlimited free private servers pays back $4.99 fast for active spenders — one Reddit player noted buying a ~17,000-Robux item and saving 1,700 Robux with the discount, which alone dwarfs the sub cost.
  • Not worth it if your only reason for Premium was the monthly stipend. Plus gives you zero stipend, so as a pure "free Robux each month" deal it's a downgrade — that's the most common complaint from former Premium subscribers.
  • Keep legacy Premium if you already have it and value the stipend more than the discounts.
  • You need it if you want to trade platform Limiteds at all — free accounts are locked out.

Bottom line: Plus is a spender's and trader's subscription, not a stipend subscription. Judge it on how much you actually buy and trade, not on the sticker price.

FAQ

Is Roblox Premium gone? Yes. Roblox Premium was retired on April 30, 2026 and can no longer be purchased. It was replaced by Roblox Plus. Existing Premium subscribers may keep their current subscription, but nobody new can sign up for Premium.

How much is Roblox Plus? $4.99 USD per month. It's a single flat tier — there are no 450/1,000/2,200 pricing levels like Premium had, because Plus doesn't include a monthly Robux stipend.

Does Roblox Plus give you free Robux every month? No. Per Roblox's Help Center, Plus is "a benefits-only monthly subscription with no monthly stipend." Instead of Robux, you get a 10% purchase discount (rising to 20% after your first two months), free private servers, fee-free Robux transfers, and trading access. You can, however, buy bundles that pair Plus with a one-time Robux amount.

What are the Roblox Plus benefits? A 10% discount on in-experience and avatar purchases that rises to 20% after your first two months (from month 3), unlimited free private servers, fee-free Robux transfers (under-18s need parent approval), access to Roblox's Limited-item trading system, and a distinct Plus profile badge.

Do you need Roblox Plus to trade? To trade platform Limiteds, yes — both players need Roblox Plus or a legacy Premium subscription; free accounts can't trade Limiteds. In-experience trading inside individual games (Adopt Me!, Blox Fruits, etc.) uses each game's own trade window and doesn't require Plus.

Should I switch from Premium to Roblox Plus? If you value the monthly Robux stipend, keep Premium — Plus has no stipend. If you value discounts on purchases and free private servers over the stipend, Plus is the better fit. Note that once you cancel Premium you can't get it back.

Is Roblox Plus worth it? For players who buy Robux items regularly or play in private servers, yes — the 10–20% discount and free servers pay back the $4.99 quickly. For players who only wanted a monthly Robux stipend, it's a downgrade, since Plus provides none.
