Halloween: The Final Push is the last quest on Therapist's side of the Tarkov Halloween 2026 event, and it's where a lot of players stall. You need 30 kills on infected inside a gas cloud that can kill them before you do, plus a boss who shrugged off two mags from one player and folded to a mag of leg shots for another. Here's what the quest wants, where the grenades come from, and how to finish it.
Quick answer: Final Push asks for 30 infected killed while they're under the RDA-78 gas effect, plus one Infected Tagilla kill. You get 1 grenade on accepting, and can barter for more at Therapist LL1. Only kills from your own weapon count, so throw, wait a couple of seconds, and shoot fast. Tagilla roams Infected Factory and Infected Lab. Rewards are 60,000 EXP, 450,000 ₽, an Item case and the Legendary Triumph of Science achievement.
Facts here were checked on November 1, 2026 against the official wiki's quest page, which was edited that day. The event is only days old and community sources still disagree on some details, so where they do, we say so.

What does Halloween: The Final Push ask you to do?
Therapist gives you the quest after Halloween: For the Greater Good and its Skier hand-in. Per the wiki, the objectives are:
| Objective | Count | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Eliminate infected under the effect of the experimental gas grenade | 30 | Infected Factory or Infected Lab |
| Obtain the RDA-78 experimental CS gas grenade | Optional | You get 1 on accepting |
| Eliminate the infected Tagilla | 1 | Boss objective, must be done to finish |
That last row matters. When u/Captain-Noot-Noot asked what to do on the quest, a reply confirmed you need to kill Infected Tagilla to finish it. Neither the wiki nor tarkov.help lists a one-raid condition, so you can split the work across raids.
If you're choosing a side and haven't committed yet, the Tarkov Halloween 2026 event guide covers Skier vs Therapist. Final Push isn't on Skier's route.
RDA-78 or RDE-78: which grenade do you need?
Same grenade. The wiki calls it the Model 8230 CS gas grenade (RDA-78), while tarkov.help writes RDE-78. The canister's own stencil reads РДЭ 78, which explains the second spelling. Don't confuse it with these two:
- RDA-68 / RDE-68: the yellow grenade from First Results. TarkovQuestie says this one makes infected tougher, so it won't help here.
- RDA-78 vaccine: a trade item that shares the name. It doesn't cure the infection.
The wiki's grenade page) lists a 5-second fuse and 30 seconds of emission. It also caps you at 3 grenades brought into a raid, and the grenade can't be listed on the Flea Market.
How do you get more RDA-78 grenades?
Accepting Final Push opens two barters at Therapist LL1:
| Barter | Cost | Where the parts come from |
|---|---|---|
| Option 1 | 1 Model 8230 CS gas grenade | Icebreaker, or dropped by Black Division |
| Option 2 | 1 Infected tissue sample, 1 UZRGM grenade fuze, 1 WD-40 (100ml), 1 LVNDMARK's rat poison | Tissue from quests or the Flea Market |
The tissue is the bottleneck. Ordinary infected can't be looted, and the wiki's sample page lists only two quest sources. On Therapist's side, that's the 2 samples from For the Greater Good - An Agreement. Tarkov.help says the Flea Market is the only other way, since daily-task samples go to Skier's side. Samples also can't go in your secure container, so they're at risk on the way out.
Here's the useful math. Tarkov.help estimates 1 grenade = 10 zombies. Your 1 free grenade plus 2 tissue barters makes 3, which is exactly the 30 you need, and exactly the raid limit. Tarkov.help also lists a 3-item restriction on the barter, so stock up before you plan a run. Treat 10 as a best case, though. u/Qrow1324 got 8 in one raid and then far fewer in the next, so budget for spares.
How do you make gas kills count?
This is where most of the frustration comes from. u/That_Row9842 summed it up: "Also, if the gas kills the infected, the kills don't count!"
Tarkov.help agrees: "These gas grenades KILL zombies, so you may not have time to kill them yourself. Only kills with your weapon count." So the grenade is on a clock, and the plan is about timing:
- Enter without throwing. Tarkov.help's advice is to hold the grenade until a crowd has built up around you.
- Pull them into a line. u/welle203, who finished the event, compared it to COD Zombies: build a train, then "lead them all into the gas." They put the exposure needed at about one to three seconds.
- Throw, step back and let the fuse run. You've got 5 seconds before the gas starts, so throw early enough that the group walks in with you already clear.
- Give them a beat, then shoot. Aim for heads. u/Qrow1324 waited about 3 seconds per zombie and says only "a few of them counted," so there's no agreed safe number yet. Too early and they may not be affected, too late and the gas takes the kill.
- Watch your counter. If it stops moving, the common causes are killing them outside the cloud or the gas getting there first.
It may not just be timing. u/Ready_ReplacementUFL reported using 6 grenades over two raids at Infected Factory's Gate 3, killing 40+ zombies after letting them stand in the gas, and ending with "zero kills counting both times." We couldn't confirm a cause, and we found no BSG statement on it. If a method fails for a full raid, change it before you spend more grenades.
What should you bring?
- A proper mask. The wiki says a Respirator or SOTR stops the thorax damage and coughing, but only a GP-5, GP-7, Avon M53A1 or MSA Millennium blocks everything, including the eye irritation.
- A large-magazine automatic or an auto shotgun. Tarkov.help recommends machine guns or auto shotguns with high-flesh-damage rounds, and no suppressor. The AA-12 from Rumors fits.
- Infection prevention. TarkovQuestie says Zagustin, AHF1-M or Perfotoran stop you catching the infection while active, and nothing cures it mid-raid.
- Gear you can lose. Insurance doesn't work on either infected map.

Where does Infected Tagilla spawn?
Start on Infected Factory. It costs nothing to enter, while Infected Lab needs a Labs keycard. Sources mostly agree, with a few differences:
| Map | Source | What it says |
|---|---|---|
| Infected Factory and Infected Lab | Tarkov.help | 100% on any infected map |
| Infected Factory and Infected Lab | TarkovQuestie | Almost every raid |
| Regular Factory | Wiki events page, TarkovQuestie | Occasionally, replacing normal Tagilla |
| Interchange | Wiki events page | Occasionally |
u/welle203's tip was to kill him on regular Factory, "since he's infected there too." That can work, but don't plan around it. One PvE player reported seeing Tagilla once in about 20 regular Factory raids during the event. That's one person's sample, but it fits the wiki's "occasionally."
If he finds you mid-grenade, deal with him first. u/That_Row9842's complaint was that Tagilla ran them down during the gas objective, and that killing him early left too few infected to gas. With no one-raid rule, the clean answer is to treat them as separate jobs: take the Tagilla kill when he comes, and save your grenades for the next raid.
How do you kill Infected Tagilla?
Expect mixed reports. TarkovHead calls him slightly nerfed compared with the regular boss, and tarkov.help calls him quite "dumb." But in a 64-comment thread, u/Dark_Forerunner wrote that he "took two whole mags of PS12B" and then shrugged off leg ammo too. Replies suggest a few things that worked:
- Stack flesh damage on the legs. One player reported "~ a whole mag of geksa or 13 rounds of buckshots."
- Take the head when he commits. Another said he "always draws his scythe" and that 10 rounds of M80 to the head finished him.
- Shoot during his swing, not his charge. The wiki's Tagilla page says to bait out the swing so he's standing still. That advice is for the regular boss, but players describe the same pattern here.
- Don't let him close. He can still kill you in one hit. One player reported exactly that on a first encounter.
Our Tagilla boss guide covers his standard behaviour if you want the baseline. One warning: TarkovQuestie says the kill counts for Call Your Brother, Hammer and Scythe, Long Live the King! and Snowball, but a player bug report says it didn't count for "kill Tagilla" dailies. Don't count on him for those.
What rewards do you get for Final Push?
Per the wiki:
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| EXP | +60,000 |
| Roubles | 450,000 (472,500 with Intelligence Center 1, 517,500 with Intelligence Center 2) |
| Item case | 1 |
| RDA-78 vaccine | 1 |
| TG-Vi-24 vaccine prototype | 2 |
| Achievement | Triumph of Science (Legendary) |
TarkovQuestie adds that the achievement mails you the Tarkov of the Dead poster. If you've read 520,000 ₽ elsewhere, that's close to the Intelligence Center 2 figure, not the base payout.
The quest also unlocks 10 barters, which is arguably the real prize:
- Therapist LL1: RDA-78 vaccine
- Jaeger: SWORD Mk-18 .338 LM (LL1), T-7 Thermal Goggles (LL2)
- Prapor: PKP (LL1), RB-BK marked key (LL2)
- Skier: Trijicon REAP-IR (LL1), Weapon case (LL2)
- Ragman: BNTI Zhuk EMR (LL1)
- Peacekeeper: M32A1 launcher (LL1), T H I C C item case (LL2)
Most of these cost RDA-78 vaccines. Per TarkovQuestie, the Mk-18 takes 1, the T-7 takes 12 and the T H I C C item case takes 14, so spend your first vaccine carefully.

FAQ
How many gas grenades do you need for Final Push? Plan on at least 3, though that's an estimate rather than a quest rule. Tarkov.help puts it at about 10 kills per grenade, and you need 30. You can carry 3 into a raid, per the wiki, so keep spares in your stash for later raids.
Why aren't my Final Push kills counting? Only kills from your own weapon count, and the infected must be under the gas effect when they die. If the gas kills them first, you get nothing. Some players also report kills not counting even after waiting, with no confirmed cause.
Do you have to kill Infected Tagilla to finish Final Push? Yes. It's a required objective on the wiki, separate from the 30 gas kills, and the wiki lists no gas condition for him.
Where is the best place to find Infected Tagilla? Infected Factory, because it needs no keycard and sources report him in almost every raid there. He also appears on Infected Lab and occasionally on regular Factory and Interchange.
Can you get Triumph of Science on Skier's route? No. It's for finishing Therapist's line, and Skier's line ends in Shields Up! Completing one side's second-choice quest fails the other, so one character gets one of them.
When does the Tarkov Halloween event end? BSG hadn't announced an end date as of November 1, 2026. The event started with patch 1.3.0.0 on October 29, so don't leave Final Push too long.
