Support got two of its big guns swapped around in WARDOGS Season 2. Update 0.2.0, live since 15 October 2026, moved the PKM fifteen levels earlier and made it cheaper, pushed the M249 five levels later at a higher price, and added a brand-new top-end LMG, the Evo-3 Ultra. Support also lost C4 and several of its old XP sources to other tracks. If you levelled Support in Season 1, both the gun order and the way the track levels have changed.

This guide lists every Support unlock BULKHEAD added or moved for Season 2, what each one costs to unlock and to carry every life, what no longer counts toward Support, and the order we'd take things in.

Quick answer: In WARDOGS Season 2 the PKM unlocks at Support level 15 (was 30) for $100,000 (was $150,000). The M249 moved to Support level 20 (was 15) and its unlock fee rose to $150,000 (was $100,000). The new Evo-3 Ultra LMG unlocks at Support level 30 for $200,000, and costs $7,250 per life. The MAAWS moved to level 18 for $100,000, and the MGL-40 unlock fee rose to $250,000. C4 and the Remote Detonator left Support for the Assault track. Role-track XP is faster: Support 20 takes 111,500 XP instead of 250,000.

Updated 24 October 2026. Applies to WARDOGS Season 2, Update 0.2.0 (patch notes posted on Steam 14 October 2026, season live 15 October 2026). WARDOGS is BULKHEAD's 100-player, three-team Control Zone shooter on PC. It is not a battle royale or an extraction shooter. Every level, price and percentage below comes from the official Season 02 Patch Notes unless it's marked as a player report.

What changed for Support in WARDOGS Season 2?

BULKHEAD's own summary of the Support section, verbatim from the Season 02 Patch Notes: "Support gets the new Evo-3 Ultra, the PKM now unlocks at level 15 instead of 30, and the M249 moves from 15 to 20."

That one line hides five separate changes:

  • The LMG order flipped. The PKM is now the first machine gun you reach (level 15) and the M249 comes after it (level 20). In Season 1 it was the other way round.
  • A new top-end LMG arrived. The Evo-3 Ultra, chambered in .308 Win, unlocks at level 30 with its own bipod and suppressor further up the track.
  • The MAAWS and MGL-40 moved and got repriced. The MAAWS came down two levels and got cheaper to unlock. The MGL-40 got more expensive to unlock and to carry, and was nerfed.
  • Explosives left the track. The Remote Detonator and C4 moved to the Assault track, which Season 2 makes the role for attacking enemy bases, along with the Spectr 4x scope.
  • Support lost several XP sources. Four kinds of action that used to pay Support XP now pay another track (more on that below).

What are the new Support unlock levels and fees?

Every item in WARDOGS has two gates. A level on its progression track makes it available, usually with a one-time unlock fee in Cash. After that you pay a per-life vendor price each time you deploy with it. This table covers the first part: every Support unlock the Season 02 Patch Notes added or moved, sorted by Season 2 level. Where a fee isn't shown, the notes didn't list a change to it. Support items the notes didn't touch aren't listed.

Two more changes have no level attached. The MGL-40 unlock fee went from $200,000 to $250,000, and the Heavy Drill unlock fee doubled from $25,000 to $50,000. The notes don't list a new level for either.

Two items moved out of Support. The Remote Detonator + C4 Charge is now Assault level 4 (it was Support level 2), and the Spectr 4x scope is now Assault level 43 (it was Support level 21).

How much do Support weapons cost per life in Season 2?

Unlock fees are one-off. Per-life prices are what you pay every time you deploy, so they decide whether a Support loadout makes or loses Cash. From the Season 02 Patch Notes vendor tables:

ItemSupport level (S2)Unlock fee (S2)Per-life price (S2)
PKM15$100,000$4,100 (was $4,500)
MAAWS18$100,000$2,400 (was $2,600)
M24920$150,000not listed
Evo-3 Ultra30$200,000$7,250 (new)

Full Choke16not listed$1,150 (was $1,400)
12 Gauge Suppressor32not listed$1,170 (was $1,225)

A full Evo-3 Ultra kit (gun, box, bipod and suppressor) comes to $10,210 per life before armor, two and a half times the price of a PKM. The PKM is the cheap one: $4,100, and $400 cheaper than in Season 1.

Are LMGs still worth it in Season 2?

This is the question r/WarDogs is arguing about this week. BULKHEAD deliberately cut machine-gun damage for Season 2. From the Combat Balance section of the patch notes:

  • Calibre base damage: .308 Winchester −25%, 7.62x54mmR −20%, 7.62x39mm −19%, .50 Cal −16%. These apply to "every weapon that uses these rounds, including infantry & vehicle weapons," so the .308 Evo-3 Ultra is hit by the largest cut on the list.
  • LMG body damage: "LMG body damage now matches assault rifles. LMGs win fights through sustained fire and magazine size, not by out-damaging assault rifles on every shot."

BULKHEAD's stated reason is that high-calibre rounds were "doing close to sniper damage at a much faster fire rate" in assault rifles, DMRs and LMGs, which made those guns "far stronger than the others in their archetype."

Players are not happy about where that left the class. In the r/WarDogs thread "LMGs suck and i blame the Bipod", one commenter put it bluntly: "Currently the firepower is equal to AR with all the negatives of LMG, that AR doesn't have." Another said the Season 1 PKM was clunky "but at least it actually had the firepower to (sometimes) make up for it." Those are player opinions, not BULKHEAD data, and they're the top two comments in a short thread whose other replies mostly blame the bipod.

Our read: an LMG in Season 2 is a volume-of-fire tool, not a damage upgrade over a rifle. Its edge is magazine size and sustained fire, which is exactly what BULKHEAD says it should be. Suppression was also rebuilt around shared per-weapon falloff curves, and helmets now resist it (Level 3 helmets cut suppression by 68%, Level 4 by 80%). The notes only single out "small and medium calibres" for stronger near-miss suppression, and BULKHEAD calls .308 and 7.62x54mmR high-calibre, so they don't say the Evo-3 Ultra or PKM suppress harder than before. If you want to win one-on-one duels, an assault rifle does that for less money.

What's the best Support unlock order in Season 2?

You can't skip levels, but you choose which unlock fees to pay and when. Cash is the limit, so here's the route we'd take, with every fee from the Season 02 Patch Notes:

  • Level 13 and 14: Improved Cylinder Choke, then the 9K333 Verba. Their fees aren't in the notes; pick them up as you work toward the first LMG.
  • Level 15: PKM, $100,000. Now the first LMG on the track, and the cheapest one to carry at $4,100 a life.
  • Level 17: PKM Bipod, $25,000. It used to sit at level 33 for $35,000. It's the cheapest PKM add-on in the notes.
  • Level 18: MAAWS, $100,000. The patch notes don't describe what the MAAWS is for. If you hunt vehicles, Season 2 gave every vehicle variant its own bounty and made armed variants worth far more than unarmed ones (an L2A6 now pays $11,000, down from $14,000; the new T-72B3 pays $8,000).
  • Skip the M249 at level 20 unless you have spare Cash. It costs $150,000 to unlock and its bipod is now $50,000 at level 24.
  • Level 30: Evo-3 Ultra, $200,000, then the Evolys Bipod at 33 for $75,000 if you'll actually run it. At $10,210 per life with the bipod and suppressor, only buy it if you're comfortable losing it.

The core route (PKM, PKM bipod, MAAWS) costs $225,000 in unlock fees by level 18. Adding the Evo-3 Ultra and its bipod takes you to $500,000. If you also want the M249 and its bipod, add another $200,000. Our WARDOGS money guide covers the Season 2 earning methods that still pay.

Why does Support level slower in Season 2?

The XP curve itself got faster for every role track. The catch is that Support lost several of the actions that used to feed it. Verbatim from the Season 02 Patch Notes, Altered Action Role Rewards:

  • "Destroying a buildable now gives assault XP instead of support."
  • "Artillery now gives driver XP instead of support."
  • "IED/C4 now give assault XP instead of support."
  • "Repair XP now goes into the driver or pilot tracks depending on the vehicle being repaired, instead of a flat support amount."

So four sources of Support XP now go to other tracks. BULKHEAD hasn't published what still credits Support, and we won't guess at a per-action table. Players say Support levels mainly through supply delivery. One r/WarDogs commenter summed the tracks up in Season 1 (11 October 2026) as "Recon has spotting, Medic has stims/revives, Support has supply delivery." That's a player summary, not a BULKHEAD table. Logistics pays smaller base rewards this season but adds delivery streaks: +$250 / +100 XP per pallet in a row and +$100 / +50 XP per crate in a row, each up to 10. BULKHEAD doesn't say which track that XP goes to.

The curve itself, total XP required from the Season 02 Patch Notes:

Track levelSeason 1 XPSeason 2 XPChange
1035,00025,00029% quicker
15110,00054,75050% quicker
20250,000111,50055% quicker
25365,000206,60043% quicker
30500,000318,20036% quicker

The PKM at 15 sits right at the 54,750 XP mark. The Evo-3 Ultra at 30 needs 318,200 XP, almost six times as much.

What changed for building and hammers?

Building is a big part of how many players run Support, and Season 2 made it slower and more expensive on purpose. BULKHEAD's aim, verbatim: "making structures a considered investment rather than something you spam." The changes that matter:

WARDOGS Season 2 Large Shelter buildable standing in heavy rain over stacked supplies, from BULKHEAD's Season 02 patch notes art

  • New buildables: the Wooden Step (small hammer and above), the Large Shelter (medium hammer and above, 250 build supplies) and the MG Nest, a manned M2 Browning emplacement (large hammer, 650 build supplies).
  • Build speed: "Medium hammer now contributes less per swing." The large hammer's rate per swing is unchanged.
  • Costs went up: Bremmer wall 15 → 32 supplies, door 22 → 80, gate 85 → 200, L81 Mortar 150 → 600, Stingray 150 → 650. The Talon 9K-SAM got cheaper (1,000 → 650) but now reloads in 5 seconds instead of 2.
  • Barbed wire no longer pays: "Barbed Wire no longer contributes Cash or XP on kills."

Season 1's changelog put the Medium and Large Hammer on the Support track (Large Hammer at level 8). The Season 2 notes don't list either hammer as moved.

Will Support levels reset in Season 3?

Yes, assuming Season 3 follows the same rules. BULKHEAD's seasonal model resets Cash and track XP at each wipe, and Gold Bars and cosmetics stay on your account. On 17 October 2026 the official @WARDOGS account said Season 3 could be brought forward "significantly", but BULKHEAD hasn't given a date yet. That makes every unlock fee here a season-scoped spend: a $200,000 Evo-3 Ultra only lasts until the next wipe. Our Season 3 release date tracker covers the latest.

For the other Season 2 role tracks, see the Medic unlocks guide and the Recon unlocks guide. For the vehicles and aircraft on the other side of the fight, see our anti-air and counter-vehicle guide and the T-72 tank guide.

FAQ

What level is the PKM in WARDOGS Season 2? The PKM unlocks at Support level 15 in WARDOGS Season 2, down from level 30 in Season 1. Its unlock fee dropped from $150,000 to $100,000, and it costs $4,100 per life (Season 02 Patch Notes, 14 October 2026).

What level is the M249 in WARDOGS? In Season 2 the WARDOGS M249 unlocks at Support level 20 (was 15) for $150,000 (was $100,000). Its bipod moved to level 24 and now costs $50,000 to unlock.

What level is the Evo-3 Ultra in WARDOGS? The Evo-3 Ultra is new in Season 2. It unlocks at Support level 30 for $200,000, with the Evolys Bipod at 33 ($75,000) and the SL7i-BL Suppressor at 40 ($35,000). It costs $7,250 per life.

Where did C4 go in WARDOGS Season 2? The Remote Detonator and C4 Charge moved from Support level 2 to Assault level 4. IED and C4 now give Assault XP instead of Support XP.

Are LMGs bad in WARDOGS Season 2? They do less damage than in Season 1. BULKHEAD cut .308 damage by 25% and made LMG body damage match assault rifles, saying LMGs should "win fights through sustained fire and magazine size." Commenters in a recent r/WarDogs thread feel the PKM and M249 now lose to rifles in straight duels, so use them for sustained fire rather than one-on-one fights.

How do you level Support fast in WARDOGS? Play near the Control Zone and keep your team supplied. Players report supply delivery as Support's main XP source, and Season 2 added delivery streak bonuses for consecutive pallet and crate runs. BULKHEAD hasn't published which track logistics XP goes to. Destroying buildables, artillery, IED/C4 and repairs no longer give Support XP. Season 2 also cut the XP to reach level 20 from 250,000 to 111,500.
