TL;DR: Digital Extremes hasn't named the next Prime yet. It says the next Prime trailer comes at Devstream 199 on November 27, 2026, at 2 p.m. ET. Kullervo Prime is the most likely pick: he's the oldest Warframe without a Prime, and 9 of the last 12 Prime releases followed that rule. Prime gaps have averaged 97 days, which points to December 2026 or January 2027. Lavos Prime is expected to be vaulted next. The current Prime Resurgence is Nidus Prime & Saryn Prime, and the next rotation is due around November 25–26. Checked November 1, 2026, on Update 44.1, Hotfix 44.1.4.1.
"Next Prime" can mean four things in Warframe: the next Prime Access, the next Prime release date, the next Prime to be vaulted, or the next Prime Resurgence rotation. This guide answers all four, and it separates what DE has confirmed from what's only a prediction.
The prediction uses the official WARFRAME Wiki release and Vault dates, plus DE's drop tables, last updated October 22, 2026. We'll update this page after Devstream 199.
Who is the next Prime in Warframe?
DE hasn't announced it. The current Prime is Citrine Prime, released September 23, 2026 with Steflos Prime and Corufell Prime. Here's what we know about the next one, from Devstream 198 (quotes from the stream's auto-captions):
- The reveal date is set. The hosts said: "our next dev stream will have the next Prime trailer."
- It may land with Tau. While discussing the Vault, DE said "maybe there's one coming with this update, too. More on that November."
Our ranking, based on the record below:
| Candidate | Base frame released | Our estimate |
|---|---|---|
| Kullervo Prime | June 21, 2023 (Update 33.5) | About 75% |
| Dagath Prime | October 18, 2023 (Update 34) | About 15–20% |
| Qorvex Prime or later | December 13, 2023 (Update 35) | About 5–10% |
Those percentages are our own estimate from past releases. They aren't DE data.
Why is Kullervo Prime the most likely pick?
The wiki's Prime page says Primes are "typically released in the Warframe's order of release." We tested that against the last 12 Prime Warframes. The frame that came out was the oldest one still without a Prime in 9 of 12 cases. In order, those 12 were Grendel, Gauss, Protea, Sevagoth, Xaku, Lavos, Yareli, Caliban, Gyre, Voruna, Styanax and Citrine.
The three exceptions were small jumps in the queue, and each skipped frame arrived soon after:
- Grendel Prime came before Gauss Prime (October 2023, then January 2024).
- Sevagoth Prime came before Xaku Prime (August 2024, then November 2024).
- Voruna Prime came before Styanax Prime (April 2026, then June 2026).
Kullervo is now first in the queue. Dagath is the most realistic jump, since she followed him by about four months. The wiki also lists Kullervo in its Warframes without Primes category.
The old "two male, two female" rule doesn't help much anymore. The last five Primes were Caliban (male), Gyre (female), Voruna (female), Styanax (male) and Citrine (female). That isn't the old pattern, but a male frame next would keep the mix balanced, which also suits Kullervo.
On r/Warframe, the same logic shows up in a thread from this week. One player wrote that Kullervo "doesn't have a prime yet but will probably be one of the next few, if not the next." That's community reasoning, not a leak.
What would Kullervo Prime include?
Nothing is confirmed, but past releases give us a template. Every recent Prime Warframe launched with two Prime extras, usually two weapons:
| Prime Warframe | Released | Prime extras |
|---|---|---|
| Citrine Prime | Sep 23, 2026 | Steflos Prime, Corufell Prime |
| Styanax Prime | Jun 17, 2026 | Afentis Prime, Athodai Prime |
| Voruna Prime | Apr 8, 2026 | Perigale Prime, Sarofang Prime |
| Gyre Prime | Dec 10, 2025 | Alternox Prime, Kestrel Prime |
Kullervo's signature weapon is the Rauta shotgun, so it's the obvious first guess. Treat the second item as unknown until the trailer.
If you want to be ready for him, the base frame is a good place to start. Per the wiki's Kullervo page, his blueprints come from Acrithis in the Dormizone for Kullervo's Bane. The main blueprint costs 15 and each part costs 9, for 42 total. After The Duviri Paradox quest, beat the Kullervo boss on Kullervo's Hold and finish the Spiral to earn 4–6 Bane, or 6–8 on The Steel Path. That's roughly 7–11 clears on normal and 6–7 on Steel Path. Kullervo's Hold only appears in Anger, Sorrow and Fear Spirals, so the wiki recommends The Duviri Experience for this farm.
His kit is built around melee: Wrathful Advance, Recompense, Collective Curse and Storm of Ukko. He's a useful Mastery Rank pickup either way, and you won't lose anything if DE picks someone else.
When does the next Prime come out?
Our best estimate is December 2026 to January 2027. DE hasn't given a date. The last 11 gaps between Primes ranged from 70 to 119 days, with an average of 97 and a median of 98.
| If the gap is… | Next Prime lands around |
|---|---|
| Shortest (70 days) | December 2, 2026 |
| Average (97 days) | December 29, 2026 |
| Longest (119 days) | January 20, 2027 |
The Tau release date is the wild card. Warframe: Tau is due in December, and DE will give the exact day at Devstream 199. There's a recent precedent for pairing the two: Gyre Prime launched on December 10, 2025, the same day as The Old Peace. But it isn't a rule, because Xaku Prime arrived a month before Warframe: 1999 in 2024.
Devstream 199 is on November 27, 2026, at 2 p.m. ET (19:00 UTC). DE will also cover the Tau date there. If the trailer shows a Prime date, we'll put it here.
How much is Prime Access, and can you get the next Prime for free?
Yes. You can earn the next Prime Warframe and its weapons for free. DE's Prime Access page describes two paths: "instantly add the latest Primes to your Arsenal with Prime Access, or earn and craft Prime Warframes and Weapons for free."
The paid route. Citrine Prime Access has four tiers. These are the prices DE's page showed us on November 1, in euros, so yours may differ by region:
| Pack | Platinum included | Price shown |
|---|---|---|
| Prime Accessories | None | €44.99 |
| Weapons | 1,050 | €44.99 |
| Prime | 2,625 | €71.99 |
| Complete | 3,990 | €125.99 |
The next pack may not match these amounts, so check the page when it goes live. Only buy Platinum from DE or its authorized retailers. DE's Trading FAQ says players offering discounted Platinum are "not legitimate."
The free route. Relics for each new Prime enter the game with it. You collect them from missions, crack them in Void Fissures with 10 Reactant, then craft the parts. Our Prime parts farming guide covers that loop. You can also earn Platinum in-game by selling Prime parts to other players through the Trading system. Our Platinum guide shows how.
What to stockpile now:
- Forma: Prime frames usually add a polarity, and you'll want to re-polarize. See our Forma farming guide.
- Void Traces: refining relics to Radiant raises your odds at the rare part.
- A free Warframe slot: a crafted frame needs one, and it's easy to forget until launch day.
- Credits: you'll need them for the Foundry.
Which Prime gets vaulted next?
Lavos Prime is expected to go next, along with Cedo Prime and Dual Zoren Prime. This is the most reliable prediction on this page. DE said on Devstream 198 that "whenever a new prime comes out," it vaults one, and the wiki's Prime Vault page says items are vaulted "in relation to their release order."
The record backs that up. In each of the last 12 Prime releases, the oldest unvaulted Prime Warframe entered the Vault the same day:
| New Prime | Date | Vaulted that day |
|---|---|---|
| Citrine Prime | Sep 23, 2026 | Xaku Prime |
| Styanax Prime | Jun 17, 2026 | Sevagoth Prime |
| Voruna Prime | Apr 8, 2026 | Protea Prime |
| Gyre Prime | Dec 10, 2025 | Gauss Prime |
| Caliban Prime | Aug 26, 2025 | Grendel Prime |
| Yareli Prime | May 21, 2025 | Wisp Prime |
The weapons released with each frame go too. For example, Quassus Prime and Trumna Prime left with Xaku Prime. Lavos Prime came out on February 12, 2025, making him the oldest frame on the wiki's "Not Yet Vaulted" list.
If you still need Lavos Prime, farm him now. These relics currently drop from missions in DE's tables:
| Part | Relics that still drop | Drop chance (Intact) |
|---|---|---|
| Blueprint | Meso V17, Neo A16 | 11% |
| Neuroptics | Axi P10, Neo V13 | 11% |
| Chassis | Axi D6, Lith G14, Meso C11 | 25.33% |
| Systems | Lith L8 | 2% (Rare) |
The Systems blueprint is the hard part. It's in a single relic, at the Rare 2% rate. Refine Lith L8 or run it with a squad. In a squad, each player can pick any of the rewards shown. You can also buy the blueprint from another player with Platinum through in-game trading.
One caveat: DE plans to change the Vault with Tau. It said 10 full Prime sets will move permanently into the rewards of Perita, one of Tau's regions, and DE described these as very old Primes. It hasn't named the 10 sets, so the vaulting routine could shift. Relics you already own keep working after their Prime is vaulted, so stock up on them.
When is the next Prime Resurgence?
Around November 25–26, 2026. The current rotation is Nidus Prime & Saryn Prime, which started on October 29, alongside Strun Prime, Magnus Prime, Spira Prime and Nikana Prime. The wiki says the rotation changes every 28 days at 18:00 UTC, except when a special event moves it. Its table lists November 25 as this rotation's end date, while a full 28 days would be November 26, so watch both days. Recent rotations have kept to that rhythm:
| Rotation start | Primes |
|---|---|
| Sep 3, 2026 | Banshee Prime & Mirage Prime |
| Oct 1, 2026 | Protea Prime & Ivara Prime |
| Oct 29, 2026 | Nidus Prime & Saryn Prime (current) |
| Around Nov 25–26, 2026 | Not announced |
The next pair hasn't been announced. Don't confuse the two currencies, though. Aya is free and buys vaulted relics from Varzia. Regal Aya is paid and buys the items outright. Our Aya farming guide covers the free route, and a Prime Warframe costs 3 Regal Aya on the current page.
What do players get wrong about the next Prime?
- Treating the prediction as an announcement. Kullervo Prime isn't confirmed. Sites that list him with a date are guessing.
- Mixing up Prime Access and Prime Resurgence. Prime Access sells the newest Prime. Prime Resurgence brings back vaulted ones.
- Assuming vaulted means gone. Your owned relics, blueprints and parts stay. You can also trade relics, Prime Warframe blueprints and Prime weapon parts with other players.
- Trying to trade built Warframe parts. For Prime Warframes, only the blueprints can be traded. Crafted components and built frames can't. Prime weapon parts can be traded, and trading needs MR2 and 2FA. Our trading guide has the details.
- Waiting for Lavos Prime to come back. It may take a long time. Farming his relics this month is easier than waiting on a future rotation.
For more, browse our full Warframe guide library or our Citrine farming guide, since her Prime relics are still dropping.
FAQ
What is the next Prime in Warframe? DE hasn't announced it. Kullervo Prime is the most likely choice because he's the oldest Warframe without a Prime. DE will show the next Prime trailer at Devstream 199 on November 27, 2026.
When is the next Prime Access? There's no date yet. The last 11 gaps averaged 97 days, which points to around late December 2026, with a likely range of December 2026 to January 2027. DE hinted it may come with Tau, which is due in December.
Will the next Prime come with Tau? Possibly. DE said "maybe there's one coming with this update, too" on Devstream 198, but it hasn't confirmed it. Gyre Prime launched on the same day as The Old Peace in December 2025, so there's a recent precedent.
What Prime gets vaulted next? Lavos Prime is expected next, along with Cedo Prime and Dual Zoren Prime. The oldest unvaulted Prime Warframe has gone into the Vault on the day of each of the last 12 Prime releases. DE's Tau Vault changes could still alter this.
What is the next Prime Resurgence? The next pair hasn't been announced. The current Nidus Prime & Saryn Prime rotation started on October 29, and the 28-day schedule points to around November 25–26, 2026.
Is Kullervo Prime confirmed? No. As of November 1, 2026, DE hasn't confirmed a Kullervo Prime. The wiki still lists him among Warframes without Primes, and the prediction here is based on release order.
