Team Vitality won StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026, beating Aurora Gaming 3-1 in the grand final in Barcelona on Sunday 20 September to take the $200,000 first prize. It is Vitality's first title since May, according to HLTV. Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut was named the event's Most Valuable Player.
Vitality got there the hard way. Aurora beat them 2-1 in Saturday's upper-bracket final, dropping Vitality into Sunday's lower-bracket final against FURIA — a series that started three hours before the rematch. They won the event from the lower bracket, with no second life left.

ZywOo takes the StarSeries 20 MVP
ZywOo was named MVP with a 1.50 rating across the event, and he saved his best for the final — HLTV recorded a 1.51 rating from him across the four grand-final maps. HLTV called the award uncontested, noting that Aurora's Jimi "Jimpphat" Salo had been in the race until the grand final itself.

Natus Vincere and MOUZ both arrived in Barcelona as Valve Regional Standings invitees and neither reached the podium. MOUZ came into the event off the back of losing the BLAST Open Porto grand final to Team Spirit on 6 September, and were eliminated here by FURIA in the lower-bracket quarter-final.
How the bracket played out
There was no group stage. The eight teams went straight into a double-elimination bracket on 17 September, with every series a best-of-three except the best-of-five grand final. The event used the current seven-map pool: Ancient, Anubis, Cache, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage and Nuke.
Vitality played more maps than anyone — thirteen across five series. They opened 2-0 against magic, beat FURIA 2-0 in the upper-bracket semi-final (Mirage 13-8, Dust II 13-5), lost to Aurora, then won the 14:00 CEST lower-bracket final 2-0 against FURIA again (Cache 13-5, Anubis 13-8), which sent FURIA to third place and set up the rematch.
Aurora came through the European Qualifier and reached the final without dropping a series. They beat Natus Vincere 2-0 on Thursday (Nuke 13-8, Mirage 13-7), then NRG 2-0 in the upper-bracket semi-final on Friday (Cache 13-7, and a 19-17 double-overtime win on Mirage), then Vitality 2-1 in Saturday's upper-bracket final (Anubis 13-7, Inferno 11-13, Nuke 13-8). The roster is XANTARES, Wicadia, woxic, Jimpphat and kyxsan, coached by ashhh.
FURIA matched that workload with five series and twelve maps. They opened with a 2-1 win over MIBR (Inferno 11-13, Nuke 13-6, Cache 13-6), lost 0-2 to Vitality, then won two lower-bracket series — 2-1 over MOUZ in a set that went to double overtime on Mirage (Cache 13-8 FURIA, Mirage 19-16 MOUZ, Nuke 13-6 FURIA), and 2-0 over MIBR (Mirage 13-8, Nuke 13-11) — before Vitality stopped them.
What the result means for the Singapore Major
Every placement here feeds the Valve Regional Standings, and the VRS is what hands out Major invitations. PGL Major Singapore 2026 starts in late November and ends on 13 December, and its 32 invites come from the VRS snapshot dated 2 November 2026. A deep run at a $500,000 event six weeks before that cut-off is a meaningful VRS input, and it is worth more to Aurora than the runner-up cheque suggests — they entered through the European Qualifier rather than on VRS standing.
The VRS is Valve's own ranking and is separate from HLTV's 31 August CS2 world ranking. If an invited roster declines or is no longer intact, its slot passes to the next-highest ranked roster; Valve's rulebook falls back to a last-chance regional qualifier only if a region runs out of eligible rosters. Only results banked before that snapshot can feed into it, and several of the events left on the remaining 2026 CS2 calendar do not start until November.
