AION 2 Daevanion Board Guide: Points, Best Nodes & the New Ariel Board (October 2026)

How should you set up your Daevanion board? r/Aion2 has been asking since launch day, and three weeks in it's still coming up, most recently from a Sorcerer asking for "a photo of what it should be". The honest answer is less about a magic layout and more about one fact most new players miss: you can't fill the four shared boards by level 45, so the order you buy nodes in decides how strong you are for the next month.

This guide applies to the AION 2 global PC build as of 28 October 2026, including the Ariel board added in NC's 20 October (PDT) / 21 October (CEST) patch. NC hasn't published a Daevanion point table in English, so node counts and costs below come from global client data read by MetaBot and the Fextralife AION 2 wiki, cross-checked against in-game screenshots. Anything only seen in the Korean version is labelled as Korean.

Quick answer: AION 2 global has 6 Daevanion boards. Nezekan (level 12), Zikel (20), Vaizel (30) and Triniel (40) share one pool of Daevanion points and give stats plus +1 skill level per skill node, for up to +4 to every active and passive skill across the four boards. Ariel (PvE) and Azphel (PvP) open at level 45 and each uses its own crystal currency. Nodes cost 1 point (grey stats), 2 (green passives), 3 (blue actives) or 4 (orange corners). Filling the four shared boards costs 570 points, but levelling gives about 136 (4 per level from 12 to 45) and side content roughly 180 more, so you can't max them early. Take your main skills' blue nodes first, then route to the orange corners you need. Ariel points come only from Ariel Fragments in Expedition (Hard), and each dungeon's crystal recipe is capped at 30 morphs per character.

What are Daevanion boards in AION 2?

Daevanion boards are AION 2's grid-shaped progression trees. Every board starts with a node in the middle, and you unlock adjacent nodes outward by spending Daevanion points. On the four shared boards, each node is one of four types (Ariel and Azphel use the same colours, but all their nodes are stats):

Node colourWhat it givesCost
GreyFlat stats (Attack, Defense, HP, Critical Hit and so on)1 point
Green+1 level to a passive skill2 points
Blue+1 level to an active skill3 points
OrangeA percentage bonus tied to the board's theme4 points

The orange "core" nodes sit in the corners, as far from the start as possible. That's deliberate. You have to buy a path of grey nodes to reach them, so every corner costs more than its sticker price.

What do the 6 Daevanion boards do?

Unlock levels match the in-game Nezekan panel ("Board Starting Level: 12") and the Fextralife board list. Corner bonuses and full costs are MetaBot's global client figures. On global, each orange node is worth +1.5%. Korean guides quote +2.5%, which is a Korean-version value, so don't plan around it.

Two things stand out. First, only the four shared boards have skill nodes. Ariel and Azphel are pure stat boards. Second, the shared boards together cost 570 points. That number is the reason the order matters.

How do you get Daevanion points in AION 2?

The four shared boards run on Daevanion Crystals, and each crystal is one point. They're bound to the character, so your alts can't feed your main. Global client data lists these sources:

  • Levelling: 4 points per level from level 12, about 136 by level 45 (MetaBot).
  • Sealed Dungeons: 2 crystals each. MetaBot counts 61 per faction.
  • Regional quests: 1 crystal each, 58 per faction. These are the green side quests most players skip on the way to 45.
  • Shops: a limited number of crystals from the Shugo Festival shop and the Nightmare shop. Players report about 50 from the Shugo Festival shop, with the price rising in steps. NC hasn't published the exact steps, so check the shop before you plan around it.
  • Substance Morph: Daevanion Crystal Fragments can be morphed into crystals.

aion2.run puts the total from levelling and side content at about 316 points, a bit over half of the 570 the shared boards cost. That's why one r/Aion2 reply puts it simply, "eventually you have to complete the whole board", and why the green side quests and Sealed Dungeons are worth doing even after you hit 45. If you're still levelling, our AION 2 leveling guide shows where those quests fit.

Which Daevanion nodes should you take first?

The short version: skill levels first, then the corners your role needs, then the grey nodes on the way.

1. Blue nodes for your main rotation skills

Every active skill has one blue node on each of the four shared boards, so the boards add up to +4 levels to each skill. Passives get the same +4: the first five passives have two green nodes each on Nezekan, the other five have two each on Zikel, and Vaizel and Triniel have one per passive. Stigma skills never appear on the boards.

Skill levels matter because AION 2 active skills unlock Specialty options at levels 8, 12 and 16, and Specialty slots at 8, 12 and 20. Skill points take a skill to 10 and the boards add 4, for 14. Levels 16 and 20 come from Arcana and gear later on (our Transcendence guide covers Arcana). Two board levels on a main skill take it from 10 to 12, which opens its next Specialty. That's the strongest early buy on any board.

As a Gladiator put it in that r/Aion2 setup thread: "I prioritized spells like overhead slam, ruinous blow and such and of course passives. the corners come naturally but you dont really need all corners."

2. The orange corners your role actually uses

Each corner is +1.5%, and the theme tells you who it's for:

  • DPS: Nezekan Cooldown Reduction and Combat Speed, then Zikel Damage Boost and Vaizel Critical Damage Boost.
  • Tanks: Nezekan first, then Zikel Damage Tolerance.
  • Healers: Nezekan's corners (faster casts, shorter cooldowns) plus heal-skill nodes.
  • PvE players: you can skip Vaizel's Critical Damage Tolerance and Triniel's Multi-Hit Resist until much later. Monster crits and multi-hits aren't the problem in dungeons.

3. Grey nodes on the way, not as a goal

Grey nodes are cheap filler. Buy the ones on the path to your blue and orange targets, and favour Attack, then survivability. One r/Aion2 player goes further and puts Attack nodes even ahead of skills: "Focus on the slots with Attack first." Don't spread points evenly across all four boards. A finished route to a corner is worth more than ten random stats.

Board stats and skill levels also feed your Combat Power. Our Combat Power guide explains why CP alone can mislead you.

What are the best Daevanion paths for each class?

Nobody has a proven "best" global layout three weeks after launch, and the top layouts change with balance patches. MetaBot has published example skill priorities based on its own analysis. We've listed them as a starting point, not a final answer:

ClassBlue nodes to path firstKey passives
GladiatorRuinous Blow, Crushing WaveAttack Preparation
TemplarJudgment, Shield SmiteIronclad Defense, Guarding Seal
AssassinAmbush, Heart GoreAssault Stance, Rear Smite

To check your own choices, compare with what high-ranked players on your class are running. Community sites that read public character data show which skills top players have levelled. If a skill isn't in your rotation, don't spend 3 points on it. And if you're still deciding on a class, start with our which class to play guide.

How does the new Ariel Daevanion board work?

Ariel is the newest board on global. NC's 20 October (PDT) / 21 October (CEST) patch notes are explicit about where its points come from:

"Ariel Daevanion Points will be earned by collecting Ariel Fragments from Expedition (Hard) and morphing them through Substance Morph." (NC patch notes, 21 October 2026)

AION 2 Substance Morph window showing the Draupnir recipe for Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound), 100 Ariel Fragment: Draupnir with a Per Character 0/30 counter

What NC has confirmed:

  • Ariel Fragments (Bound) drop from Expedition (Hard), which on global is only Krao Cave and Draupnir, with an entry requirement of item level 2,600.
  • The fragment you get varies by dungeon (the morph screen lists "Ariel Fragment: Draupnir").
  • 100 fragments = 1 Daevanion Crystal: Ariel (Bound), made under Substance Morph > Special > Daevanion, up to 30 times per character.
  • NC says the number you can morph "will be limited for each dungeon". The Substance Morph list shows two separate Ariel crystal recipes, and the Draupnir one carries its own 0/30 counter. NC hasn't spelled out the combined total, so check both recipes in your own client.
  • You can also turn 1 fragment into 5 Enhance Stones, with no limit.

What the client data adds: Ariel opens at level 45, has no skill nodes, and is all PvE stats. Its small nodes give PvE and Boss Attack and Defense, PvE Accuracy and Evasion, and HP and MP. Its 3-point nodes give Critical Hit, Critical Hit Resist, Boss Damage Boost +1% and Boss Damage Tolerance +1%. A full board adds +6% PvE Damage Boost and Tolerance and +4% Boss Damage Boost and Tolerance, according to aion2vault.

The catch is the cap. The full board costs 232 points, and the morph limits mean one character can only make a small slice of that right now: 30 per dungeon recipe, so even both recipes maxed come nowhere near 232. So for now, Ariel is about the first PvE Damage Boost corners and the boss-damage nodes next to them. aion2vault's cheapest routes reach two PvE Damage Boost corners for 26 points. Use the morphs for damage, not tolerance, unless you're the one tanking bosses. Our Hard Mode expedition guide covers the Combat Power groups expect for Krao Cave and Draupnir Hard.

How do you get Azphel points for the PvP board?

Azphel is the PvP mirror of Ariel. It opens at 45, has no skill nodes, and its corners give PvP Damage Boost and PvP Damage Tolerance. Its currency, Daevanion Crystal: Azphel, comes from the Abyss, Arena and Battlefield shops and from Monolith rewards, and "Fragment: Azphel's Trace" can be morphed into crystals (MetaBot). If you don't PvP, skip it. Its bonuses do nothing in dungeons. If you do, it competes with stigma shards for your Abyss Points, so read our Abyss Points guide and stigma guide before you spend.

Can you reset your Daevanion board?

Yes, but node by node, not with one button. You refund nodes from the outside in, and you can't remove a node that another unlocked node depends on. Korean guides list the refund as 500 Kina per node, whatever the node cost, and AION2 Builds gives the same price for global. Other global guides say the price isn't confirmed, and NC hasn't published one, so check the confirmation window before you refund a large route. At 500 Kina, a 20-node rework is about 10,000 Kina.

There's also an "Acquire All Nodes" button on each board that buys the whole board at once. That's fine once you're near the end of a board, but before 45 it spends your points on nodes you don't need yet.

We found no Daevanion presets on global, and r/Aion2 players say the same: "there is no preset and won't have one." Skill points, by contrast, reset for free.

Will more Daevanion boards come to AION 2 global?

Probably. The Korean version has eight tabs: the six above plus Marchutan, added in Korea on 25 February 2026 and fed from the Transcendence dungeon Sunken Temple of Life, and Yustiel, an end-game board. aion2.run also lists Korea's shared boards at 210 points each (840 total). None of that is on global, and NC hasn't announced a date for either board. Treat any "Marchutan guide" as a Korean preview.

FAQ

How many Daevanion boards are in AION 2? Six on global: Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel, Triniel, Ariel and Azphel. The first four share one point pool and unlock at levels 12, 20, 30 and 40. Ariel (PvE) and Azphel (PvP) unlock at 45 and use their own crystals. The Korean version has two more, Marchutan and Yustiel.

How do I get more Daevanion points in AION 2? Level up (4 points per level from 12), clear Sealed Dungeons (2 crystals each) and finish regional side quests (1 crystal each). The Shugo Festival and Nightmare shops sell a limited number, and Daevanion Crystal Fragments can be morphed into crystals.

Can you max out the Daevanion boards in AION 2? Not the shared boards, at least not soon. Nezekan, Zikel, Vaizel and Triniel cost 570 points together, and levelling plus side content gives about 316. Ariel costs 232 points, but each dungeon's crystal recipe is capped at 30 morphs per character right now.

Should I take orange or blue nodes first? For most players, blue nodes for the 2 or 3 skills you use most come first. Two levels take a skill from 10 to 12, which unlocks its next effect. Then route to the orange corners for your role. Guides disagree on this, and some put Nezekan's Cooldown Reduction corner first.

How much does it cost to reset Daevanion nodes in AION 2? Guides list 500 Kina per node, refunded one at a time from the outside in. NC hasn't published a global price, so check the in-game confirmation window.

How do I get Ariel Daevanion points? Clear Krao Cave or Draupnir on Hard (item level 2,600) for Ariel Fragments, then turn 100 fragments into one Daevanion Crystal: Ariel in Substance Morph. Each dungeon's recipe allows up to 30 per character.

The bottom line

The Daevanion board isn't something to fill as fast as possible. It's a budget, and you'll be short for weeks. Spend your first points on blue nodes for the skills you press most, route to your role's orange corners, and do the Sealed Dungeons and side quests you skipped, because they're the cheapest points you'll get. Spend your limited Ariel crystals on PvE and boss damage, and ignore Azphel unless you PvP. Check back after each NC patch: when Marchutan reaches global, the order changes again.
