AION 2 Abyss Points Guide: How to Farm AP Fast in PvP (October 2026)

If you have hit the Abyss in AION 2 and the game started handing you Abyss Points for killing other players, you have reached the faction-war endgame — and the single most-argued system on the live servers right now. The top complaint on r/Aion2 this week is literally "Stop killing Lowbies in the Abyss", and the most common reply explains exactly why nobody will: Abyss Points are the currency that unlocks your best Stigma Shards, and killing weaker players earns them fastest. This guide covers what the Abyss actually is in the 2026 global build, every verified way to earn Abyss Points, what to spend them on first, and why the ganking will not stop.

Quick answer: Abyss Points (AP) are AION 2's faction-war PvP currency. You earn them from Abyss open-world PvP, the Arena (Arena of Tactics / Solitude / Cooperation), daily Duty quests (community-reported ~1,000 AP each, up to 5/day), Supply Requests (~380 up to ~6,000 AP by tier), weekly Abyss quests and sieges. You can start earning AP from around level 13, but the main sink — the Abyss Trade Shop (Growth tab) — opens at level 45, where AP buys Stigma Shards in four tiers of 50 (10,000 / 15,000 / 20,000 / 25,000 AP, a reported cap of 200 per character). A weekly AP cap exists on global, but NC has not published the number — read the live counter in the Abyss UI.

This applies to the AION 2 global PC launch build (Steam AppID 3393110), patched as of mid-October 2026. NCSoft has not published official Abyss Point rules, caps or payout tables in English, so every number below is community-reported, cross-checked against at least two independent launch-week guides and the live r/Aion2 community, and flagged where sources disagree. Read the in-client counter before spending large amounts — the test build was not necessarily identical to the final release.

What is the Abyss in AION 2?

The Abyss is AION 2's shared, open-world faction-PvP endgame. It is the one place where the two factions — Elyos and Asmodian — meet and fight, and it is the core of the game's RvR (realm-vs-realm) identity that NCSoft sells on the official Steam store page. Your reward for taking part is Abyss Points: a ranking-and-currency system that tracks how much you contribute to the war.

The Abyss returns from the original Aion, but this is a rebuilt system — same name, different game. The 2008 Aion's Abyss, fortress list and Abyss Point ladder do not carry over, and NCSoft has reworked the structure for the global release. So ignore anything an old Aion wiki tells you about Reshanta fortresses or artifact mechanics; it is not a source for how AION 2 works in 2026.

One structural detail NCSoft has confirmed: each server houses only one faction, and every Elyos server is paired with an Asmodian counterpart. You meet players from your paired server in cross-faction modes like the Abyss and Spacetime Rifts, and NC updates those pairings periodically to keep the factions balanced. Reports that the factions are fully separated outside the Abyss circulate on fan sites, but NC has not spelled out the complete global structure — so treat "you only see the enemy faction in the Abyss" as broadly true for the endgame, not a hard rule for every zone.

How do you earn Abyss Points in AION 2?

There are two buckets: PvP you fight for and objectives you turn in. The objective turn-ins are the steady, repeatable income; PvP is the variable, higher-ceiling source. All figures below are community-reported from launch week and should be verified against your live Abyss UI.

Repeatable daily and weekly income (the reliable AP)

  • Daily Duty quests — community-reported at roughly 1,000 AP each, up to 5 per day. This is the single most reliable AP faucet and should be your daily baseline (~5,000 AP/day from dailies alone).
  • Supply Requests — delivery turn-ins that pay a variable amount by item tier, community-reported at roughly 380 up to ~6,000 AP each (not a flat payout — the big numbers are the rare, high-tier requests). These unlock a bit later than your first dailies.
  • Command Merchant / supply-request scrolls — the Lower Reshanta Duty scrolls are reported at roughly ~1,000 AP each (the Middle Reshanta versions pay closer to ~2,000). Note the Command Merchant itself sells its Commands for Kina, not AP — the Abyss Points come from completing the scroll, not from buying it.
  • Weekly Abyss quests — a weekly chunk of AP on top of the dailies.

PvP sources (higher ceiling, more variable)

  • Open-world Abyss PvP — killing enemy-faction players grants AP. This is where the "food chain" lives: higher-geared players farm lower-geared ones because the AP flows faster and easier. It is intentional (more on that below).
  • The Arena — instanced PvP that pays AP win-or-lose:
  • Arena of Tactics — community-reported ~1,000 AP for participating, ~3,000 for a win, roughly 3× per week.
  • Arena of Solitude / Arena of Cooperation — ~500 AP + ~1,000 on a win, up to ~10× per week.
  • Sieges — large-scale faction battles pay the biggest bursts. One player reported ~45,000 AP two-to-three times a week from siege participation, with the server granting bonus entries after a siege. Global siege times are not published by NC — do not trust any Korean-server "Tue/Thu/Sat 9 PM" schedule you see copied around; watch your in-game event calendar for the global times.
  • Limited-time events such as the Shugo Festival, plus open-world Abyss mob farming, round out the list.

ToS warning: fighting for AP is normal play, but third-party AP/shard farming tools, bots and auto-hunt macros are not. NC has been banning aggressively at launch — players have reported bans for running an "Abyss DPS Meter" and for botting. "Botting is out of control" is itself a top launch-week complaint, and NC's response has been zero-tolerance. Farm AP by playing, not by automating.

What should you spend Abyss Points on first?

The reason everyone grinds AP is Stigma Shards — the currency that powers AION 2's most important build system (see our full AION 2 stigma guide for how shards level a stigma). Spend AP in this order:

  • Abyss Trade Shop → Growth tab (unlocks at level 45). You reach it through the Abyss, Arena or Battlefield tabs. This shop sells Stigma Shards and Daevanion Crystals, and it is the main reason AP matters. Stigma Shards come in four tiers of 50, each tier more expensive than the last:
TierShardsAbyss Point cost
15010,000 AP
25015,000 AP
35020,000 AP
45025,000 AP
Total200 (reported cap/character)70,000 AP

The 200-per-character cap and the tier prices are reported by two independent launch-week guides but flagged "to be confirmed" by at least one — verify the live shop limit before you plan a 70,000-AP grind.

  • Your build's key stigmas, to Level 20. Dump AP into shards until the two or three skills that define your class are at Level 20, where they hit the bonus-stat thresholds (players on r/Aion2 call out stigma thresholds at 5, 10, 15 and 20 as the biggest combat-power jumps). A Chanter, for example, may only need ~2 skills at 20 ("red mantra + the party buff mandatory at 20") before pivoting.
  • Cosmetics and wings in the Season Shop (Oath Coin) — only after your build is set. Once your key stigmas are maxed, veterans redirect currency toward wings and skins, which are account-wide — some farm them on an alt because the unlock applies to the whole account.

Remember that leveling one stigma all the way to Level 20 costs 75 Stigma Shards (1 shard/level through 5, then 2, then 4, then 8), so a full 200-shard Abyss cap is a little under three maxed stigmas' worth — which is exactly why AP farming is an endgame-long grind, not a one-week sprint.

Why won't players stop ganking lowbies in the Abyss?

Because the game pays them to. This is the most honest answer to the week's loudest complaint, and it comes straight from the live community: "The game incentivises you to get as many Abyss Points as possible for Stigma, so unfortunately it is just the game." Killing an enemy player grants AP; killing a weaker enemy player grants that AP faster and with less risk. There is no downside baked in for the attacker.

Several players point out that NCSoft could have applied the Battlefield-mode stat-normalization system — which already exists in the game — to the open-world Abyss, and chose not to. That was a design decision: the Abyss is meant to be a real, un-normalized faction war where gear and level matter. If you want to farm AP without being farmed yourself, the practical advice from veterans is blunt: avoid the Abyss during siege windows unless you are rolling with the zerg, do your feather/objective runs at off-peak hours, and lean on Arena and Duty-quest AP (which do not expose you to open-world ganks) when your faction is outnumbered. On lopsided servers — one player reported being outnumbered "10 to 1" — Arena and daily turn-ins are often the only realistic AP income.

Abyss Points vs Daevanion Points — don't confuse them

A frequent launch-week mix-up: Abyss Points are not the same as Daevanion Points. AP is the faction-war PvP currency spent in the Abyss Trade Shop on Stigma Shards. Daevanion progression (Daevanion Crystals and related upgrades) is a separate track, even though the Abyss Trade Shop sells both. If a guide tells you "earn Abyss Points for your Daevanion," read carefully — you spend AP in the shop that also stocks Daevanion Crystals; the points themselves are distinct. Check the currency icon in the shop before you buy.

FAQ

What are Abyss Points in AION 2? Abyss Points (AP) are the faction-war PvP currency of the Abyss endgame. You earn them by fighting enemy-faction players, clearing Arena matches, and turning in daily Duty quests and supply-request scrolls, then spend them in the Abyss Trade Shop — most importantly on Stigma Shards. NCSoft has not published official AP payout tables in English, so treat specific numbers as community-reported and confirm them in your live Abyss UI.

How do I farm Abyss Points fast in AION 2? The fastest reliable income is your five daily Duty quests (community-reported ~1,000 AP each) plus Supply Requests (variable, ~380 up to ~6,000 AP by tier) and Duty scrolls (~1,000 AP each in Lower Reshanta), topped up with Arena matches (Arena of Tactics ~1,000/participation and ~3,000/win, Solitude/Cooperation ~500 + ~1,000/win). Sieges pay the biggest bursts when they run, but global siege times are not published by NC, so watch your in-game calendar. Open-world Abyss PvP has the highest ceiling but the most risk.

What do Abyss Points buy in AION 2? Primarily Stigma Shards in the Abyss Trade Shop's Growth tab, which opens at level 45. Shards come in four tiers of 50 at a reported 10,000 / 15,000 / 20,000 / 25,000 AP (reported cap 200 per character). The shop also stocks Daevanion Crystals. Once your build's key stigmas are maxed, players redirect currency to account-wide wings and skins in the Season Shop.

When can I start earning and spending Abyss Points? Community guides report you can begin earning AP as early as character level 13 (via Shugo Festival content and early objectives), but the main sink — the Abyss Trade Shop's Growth tab — does not open until level 45. So early AP mostly just accumulates; there is no rush to spend it, and you should bank it for Stigma Shards once the shop unlocks.

Is ganking low-level players in the Abyss allowed? Yes. The open-world Abyss is intentionally un-normalized PvP, so higher-level and better-geared players can and do farm weaker ones for faster Abyss Points. NC has the Battlefield stat-normalization system but chose not to apply it to the open-world Abyss. If you are being farmed, do your objectives off-peak, stick with your faction's group, and lean on Arena and daily-quest AP, which don't expose you to open-world kills.

Is there a weekly Abyss Point cap? A weekly AP cap exists on the global build, but NCSoft has not published the number. Read the live counter in your Abyss UI rather than trusting a fixed figure from a guide — several of them disagree.

Keep leveling your AION 2 power

Abyss Points are only one half of the power equation — the other half is turning those Stigma Shards into a build that actually wins fights, plus the gear, combat power and enhancement grind that sits on top. If you are still climbing to level 45 to unlock the Abyss Trade Shop, our AION 2 leveling guide and combat power & gear guide cover the fastest route; once you are there, the Kina farming guide keeps your wallet funded for enhancement. If you would rather spend your limited playtime in the parts of AION 2 you enjoy instead of grinding Abyss dailies on repeat, timesaver.gg is building out its AION 2 service lineup now.
