Wings questions are all over r/Aion2 this weekend. One player asked whether it's pointless to save for Nightmare Wings when the same currency buys power upgrades. Another posted a four-week route to the Talisra Wings from Season Missions, and one of the first replies was simply "gl as elyos."
That's the real question behind "how do I get wings in AION 2". You can get most of them, but each one costs a currency you could spend on something else. This guide covers where the wings come from, which ones are worth it for PvE and PvP, how the owned effect works, and what wing enhancement costs in Kina.
It applies to the AION 2 global PC build as of 26 October 2026. NC hasn't published a wing stat table in English, so wing stats, shop prices and enhancement costs below come from global client data published by metabot.gg (client build 0.0.4387.0). Anything NC has confirmed in its own patch notes is labeled as such, and player opinions are labeled too.
Quick answer: AION 2 has 28 wings in the global client: 13 Unique, 7 Epic, 4 Rare, 1 Common and 3 cosmetic Special wings. You get your first four for free from the Daeva's Wings episode quest chain, and NC raised their Flight Power on 9 October. After that, wings come from currency shops (Talisra Wings for 210,000 Oath Coin in the Season Shop, Nightmare Wings for 160,000 Phantasmal Fragments, Brawler Wings for 800,000 Abyss Points), from sealed wing drops in party dungeons, and from Hidden Cubes. Every stat-bearing wing you own gives a permanent bonus even when you're not wearing it, so collecting matters more than picking one. For PvE bossing, Nightmare Wings have the strongest equipped stats on paper; for skill uptime, Talisra Wings; for PvP, Brawler Wings. Enhancing a Unique wing costs about 3.5 million Kina to +5 and about 16.7 million Kina to +10.
How do wings work in AION 2?
Every earned wing in AION 2 (everything except the cosmetic Special grade) has two separate effects:
- Equipped effect: the stats you get from the pair you're wearing. Only one pair can be equipped.
- Owned effect: a smaller bonus that applies as long as the wing is in your collection, even when you're wearing a different pair. It always includes Flight Power, and most wings add one to three combat lines on top.
The owned effect is why the "is it pointless?" question has a clear answer. One r/Aion2 reply put it well:
"There is no 'pointless' or 'useless'. Wings add passives even if it's just fly power and also unlocks titles. You buy them when you can spare the points."
That's right for every wing that carries stats. Owned bonuses stack across your whole collection. Owning Nightmare Wings, for example, adds PvE Damage Boost +1%, Boss Attack +20 and Boss Defense +300 whether or not you wear them. Owning 25 wings unlocks the Dominator of Dimensions title, which gives PvE Damage Tolerance +4.5% and HP +1,000 when equipped, according to metabot's client data.
Two more things to know before you spend anything:
- Elyos and Asmodian wings are the same. Each of the 28 wings has a version for each faction with identical stats.
- Store wings are a different thing. NC describes Shop cosmetics, wings included, as "purely aesthetic." The Spider Wings NC added to the Shop on 14 October cost $19.99 and are on sale until the regular maintenance on 24 November (PST) / 25 November (CET). They're a look, not a stat upgrade. The wings in this guide are the ones you earn in game.
How do you get wings in AION 2?
There are five routes: the free quest chain, currency shops, sealed wings from party dungeons, Hidden Cubes, and boxes. Metabot's client data lists 8 wings from conversion (sealed drops you unseal) and 8 from currency shops, which makes those the two routes most players will use.
1. The free quest wings (do these first)
The Daeva's Wings episode chain gives you four wings at no cost: Daeva's Lesser Wings (Common), Intermediate (Rare), Superior (Epic) and Ultimate (Unique). The first pair comes from The Power in the Lake (Elyos) or The Being Beneath the Lake (Asmodian), recommended at level 5.
NC buffed all four in the 8 October (PDT) / 9 October (CEST) maintenance. From the official notice:
"The Flight Power of the 4 wings obtainable through quests has been increased by 500 each (2,000 in total). Daeva's Lesser Wings (Elyos/Asmodian): 2,000 → 2,500. Daeva's Intermediate/Superior/Ultimate Wings (Elyos/Asmodian): 500 → 1,000."
So the quest set alone now gives 5,500 owned Flight Power. Most other Unique wings give 200 to 300. If you skipped the chain while leveling, go back and finish it.
2. Currency shops
These are the wings most players are saving for. Prices are from the global client:
| Wing | Grade | Shop | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Talisra Wings | Unique | Season Shop | 210,000 Oath Coin |
| Nightmare Wings | Unique | Nightmare Trade Shop | 160,000 Phantasmal Fragment |
| Conqueror Wings | Epic | Nightmare Trade Shop | 20,000 Phantasmal Fragment |
| Brawler Wings | Unique | Abyss Trade Shop | 800,000 Abyss Points |
| Warrior Wings | Epic | Abyss Trade Shop | 200,000 Abyss Points |
| Springflower Butterfly Wings | Unique | Festival Shop | 8,350 Centuryroot Token |
| Spirit Wings | Epic | Festival Shop | 4,200 Centuryroot Token |
| Violet Butterfly Wings | Rare | Festival Shop | 2,100 Centuryroot Token |
Every shop wing is limited to one per character. Centuryroot Tokens are the Shugo Festival currency. If you're running the Shugo Festival anyway, Springflower Butterfly Wings are a Unique pair you can work toward without touching your Oath Coin, Phantasmal Fragments or Abyss Points.
3. Sealed wings from party dungeons
Six Unique wings drop as sealed wing items from the Normal difficulty of party dungeons. You unseal them by conversion with 10 Radiant Odyle:
- Kromede Wings: Fire Temple
- Forest Spirit Wings: Vakron Sky Island
- Dark Veil Wings: Ferocious Horn Den
- Black Fragment Wings: Krao Cave
- Blue Wave Wings: Draupnir
- Ancient Aullaeu Wings: Urugugu Canyon
Two Epic wings, Sealing Wings and Glorious Wings, cost 70 Sealed Wing Featherdown plus 10 Pure Odyle each. Featherdown drops two at a time from sealed dungeon clears such as Poacher's Den.
One catch: duplicate sealed wings can be broken into Enhance Stones through Substance Morph, but NC's 6 October (PDT) / 7 October (CEST) patch added "a weekly limit of 20 Morphs per server" to that recipe. It's a nice stone top-up, not a stone farm. See our AION 2 enhancement guide for the main Enhance Stone sources.
4. Hidden Cubes and quests
Radiant Love Wings (Unique) come from Hidden Cubes you find while gathering. The Rare Aullaeu Wings come from the quests Secrets Within Secrets and Canyon's Secret, both recommended at level 30.
5. Founder's Pack and boxes
Blazing Sun Wings came with the $99.99 Ultimate Founder's Pack. NC's Founder's Pack notice describes them as appearance-only, so they add no stats, equipped or owned. A few other pairs come from boxes and chests, including the Unique Blue Butterfly Wings, the Epic Odyle Wings and the Rare Fairy's Dream Wings. Two more Special pairs, Punk Bunny Bag Wings and Void Rending Wings, are in the client but had no listed source as of 26 October.
What are the best wings in AION 2?
Wing stats are fixed per pair, so "best" depends on what you do. These are the equipped stats from the global client:
| Wing | Best for | Equipped stats | Selected owned bonuses |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nightmare Wings | Raids and bosses | Boss Damage Boost +3.5%, Attack Bonus +60, Critical Hit +35, Accuracy Bonus +35 | PvE Damage Boost +1%, Boss Attack +20, Boss Defense +300 |
| Forest Spirit Wings | Tanky bossing | Boss Damage Boost +3.5%, Damage Tolerance +2.5%, Boss Attack +95, Defense Bonus +400 | Damage Tolerance +1%, Boss Attack +30 |
| Dark Veil Wings | All-round damage | Damage Boost +2.5%, Attack Bonus +60, Boss Defense +500, Boss Damage Tolerance +3.5% | Damage Boost +1%, Boss Defense +300 |
| Talisra Wings | Skill uptime, casters | Cooldown Reduction +4%, Attack Bonus +60, Accuracy Bonus +35, Defense Bonus +400 | Defense Bonus +100, Attack Bonus +10, Accuracy Bonus +20 |
| Brawler Wings | PvP | Status Effect Resist +3%, Status Effect Chance +3%, HP +500, Defense Bonus +400 | PvP Damage Boost +1%, PvP Defense +100 |
| Kromede Wings | Early Unique | Attack Bonus +60, Critical Hit +35, HP +500, Natural HP Regen +250 | HP +50, Attack Bonus +10 |
A few practical picks:
- For PvE damage: Nightmare Wings are our pick to wear, based on their stat lines (nobody has published comparative damage tests yet). If you're not there yet, Forest Spirit Wings from Vakron Sky Island carry the same +3.5% Boss Damage Boost and you can get them by running a dungeon you're probably already farming.
- For casters and healers: Talisra Wings are the only Unique pair with Cooldown Reduction. Metaroad notes that Cooldown Reduction caps at 60% in total, so it stops paying once your gear and Pantheon get you close to that.
- For PvP: Brawler Wings are the only Unique pair with PvP lines. Their owned PvP Damage Boost +1% stays active in PvP even while you wear a PvE pair. It does nothing for PvE damage.
- For a Unique outside the main grind: Springflower Butterfly Wings from the Festival Shop, for Penetration +500.
Talisra Wings vs Nightmare Wings: which should you save for?
This is the big decision this month, and the answer depends on your faction and server more than your class.
Talisra Wings cost 210,000 Oath Coin in the Season Shop. A Season Missions guide from Raid Relay posted to r/Aion2 on 25 October puts the weekly maximum at 49,140 Oath Coin if you finish all 30 weeklies. Four weeks of that plus the one-time mission steps comes to 212,020, just enough. But that assumes you finish the player-rank missions and get a siege win every week.
That's where the "gl as elyos" reply comes from. A large share of the weekly Oath Coin comes from PvP missions. One player in that thread estimated "60+% of the points" come from PvP. Another warned that kill-players missions won't finish on emptier servers. If you're on the weaker faction on your server, our estimate is five or six weeks, not four.
Nightmare Wings cost 160,000 Phantasmal Fragments in the Nightmare Trade Shop. That's a lot. The same shop sells stigma shards at 1,500 fragments each, so the wings cost about as much as 106 stigma shards. That's why the most common advice in the Nightmare thread was to get power first:
"Get statue first, then board and stigmas, and then consider saving up if you don't necessarily want anything else. Not before that."
Our take, for most players:
- If your key stigmas aren't at level 20 yet, don't buy either pair. Stigma levels and the Daevanion board add more damage than wing equipped stats. Our AION 2 stigma guide explains where the shards come from.
- If you're Asmodian on a balanced server, or on the stronger faction, go for Talisra. Oath Coin doesn't compete with stigma shards the way Phantasmal Fragments do.
- If you're a raider pushing for Ludra on 4 November, Forest Spirit Wings are the smarter short-term pick. They match Nightmare's Boss Damage Boost and come from Vakron Sky Island, not a 160,000-fragment save.
- Save for Nightmare Wings last. They're the best PvE pair, but they're a long-term goal for most players.
Both pairs transfer if you move servers. NC's Server Transfer Q&A says: "Your collected Wings will be transferred along with your character." Our server transfer guide has the rest of the rules.
How much does wing enhancement cost in AION 2?
Wing enhancement is live on the global build. Rare, Epic and Unique wings can be enhanced from +0 to +10; Common and Special wings can't. Every Unique wing uses the same track, and each attempt costs Kina, Unique Sync Stones and Enhance Stones. Steps up to +3 are guaranteed, and every failed attempt adds 10 percentage points to your next attempt's chance, so a failure is never wasted. These figures are from global client data. NC hasn't published an English rate table.
| Level | Success | Kina per attempt | Sync Stones | Enhance Stones |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| +1 | 100% | 240,000 | 2 | 800 |
| +2 | 100% | 480,000 | 4 | 1,600 |
| +3 | 100% | 720,000 | 6 | 2,400 |
| +4 | 90% | 840,000 | 7 | 3,200 |
| +5 | 80% | 960,000 | 8 | 4,000 |
| +6 | 50% | 1,200,000 | 10 | 4,800 |
| +7 | 50% | 1,250,000 | 10 | 4,800 |
| +8 | 50% | 1,300,000 | 10 | 4,800 |
| +9 | 40% | 1,400,000 | 12 | 6,000 |
| +10 | 30% | 1,500,000 | 12 | 6,000 |
Counting expected failures, metabot puts a Unique wing at 16,741,000 Kina, 137 Sync Stones and 66,000 Enhance Stones from +0 to +10. For Epic wings it's about 5.96 million Kina, and for Rare wings about 3.49 million.
Should you enhance your wings to +10?
For most players, no. Take your wings to +5 and stop. Here's the math, using the costs and expected attempts above:
- +0 to +5 costs about 3.5 million Kina. Three steps are guaranteed and the other two are 90% and 80%.
- +5 to +10 costs about 13.2 million Kina. That's roughly 79% of the total cost for the last five levels.
And on a Unique wing, those last five levels don't give you much. According to the client data, the only owned line that grows with level on Unique wings is Flight Power, from +200 at +0 to +300 at +10 on most Unique pairs. The combat lines stay the same. So pushing a Unique wing from +5 to +10 is about 13 million Kina for +50 Flight Power. Metaroad's guide reaches the same conclusion and adds that the Korean version handles this differently, so check your tooltip on the first level you buy.
Epic and Rare wings are different. According to Metaroad, one extra line switches on at +1 and grows with each level (Superior Daeva Wings grow Critical Hit Resist, Spirit Wings grow PvE Defense), so those can be worth pushing further if you need that stat.
The same logic applies to the guaranteed first three levels: +3 on a Unique wing costs 1.44 million Kina for +30 Flight Power. The Kina is better spent on your gear first. Gear enhancement and Amplify raise your combat stats directly, while wing levels mostly raise Flight Power. If you're short on Kina, our AION 2 Kina farming guide covers the best routes after launch.
What's the best wing order for a new level 45?
Putting it together, here's the order we'd follow on the global build in late October:
- Finish the Daeva's Wings quest chain. Free, and it's 5,500 owned Flight Power after the 9 October buff.
- Enhance Epic and Rare wings whose growing line you need (Critical Hit Resist, Block, Incoming Heal, PvE Defense). Leave Unique wing levels for later; they mostly add Flight Power.
- Pick up Forest Spirit or Kromede Wings from the dungeons you're already running, and unseal them with Radiant Odyle.
- Buy Springflower Butterfly Wings from the Festival Shop if you're doing the Shugo Festival.
- Get your key stigmas to level 20, then start saving Oath Coin for Talisra Wings.
- PvP players: work toward Brawler Wings with Abyss Points once your stigma shards from the Abyss shop are done. Our Abyss Points guide covers the fastest AP routes.
- Nightmare Wings last, unless you're a raider who's already finished stigmas and the Daevanion board.
- Once your gear is done, spread Unique wing enhancement to +5 across several wings instead of pushing one to +10.

FAQ
How many wings are in AION 2? The global client lists 28 wings: 13 Unique, 7 Epic, 4 Rare, 1 Common and 3 Special. The Special wings are cosmetic and have no stats, equipped or owned.
Do wings give stats in AION 2? Yes. Earned wings give stats when equipped and a smaller owned bonus while they're in your collection. Wings sold in the Shop for real money, like the Spider Wings, are cosmetic, which NC describes as "purely aesthetic."
How do you get Talisra Wings in AION 2? Buy them from the Season Shop for 210,000 Oath Coin, one per character. Oath Coin comes from weekly Season Missions, and a community guide puts the weekly maximum at 49,140, so expect about four weeks of full weeklies, or longer if your faction struggles with the PvP missions.
Is it worth saving for Nightmare Wings? Eventually, yes, because they're the best PvE wings. But at 160,000 Phantasmal Fragments they cost about as much as 106 stigma shards from the same shop, so most players should finish stigmas and the Daevanion board first.
Should I enhance my wings in AION 2? Enhance Epic and Rare wings if you need the stat line that grows with them. On Unique wings, levels mostly add Flight Power: +5 costs about 3.5 million Kina and +5 to +10 another 13.2 million, so wait until your gear is finished, then stop at +5.
Do wings transfer when you change servers? Yes. NC's Server Transfer Q&A says your collected wings move with your character.
The bottom line
Wings in AION 2 are a collection, not a single item. Every stat-bearing pair you own adds a permanent bonus, so the right move is to grab the free and cheap ones first, keep Unique enhancement at +5 once your gear is done, and save for Talisra or Nightmare Wings only after your stigmas are where they need to be. Your faction matters more than your class for Talisra, and your patience matters most for Nightmare.
We'll update this guide when NC changes wing costs, adds new wings to the Season Shop, or publishes a Season 1 end date.
