Updated October 24, 2026 · based on the official TV Royale episode published October 23, 2026 · applies to Season 89 (November 2026). Evo Mirror is announced, not live yet: we'll update this page with exact numbers when the season release notes go up.

Quick answer: Evo Mirror is the Evolution of the Mirror card, revealed in Supercell's October 2026 TV Royale for Season 89 ("King vs. King"), the November competitive season. Normal Mirror re-plays your last card one level higher for +1 Elixir. When Evo Mirror's Evolution is charged, the copy comes out evolved, even if that card's Evolution isn't in your deck and even if you don't own it. That opens two things that were impossible before: a Hero and an Evolution of the same card on the field at once, and the same Evolution twice in a row. Mirror a card that has no Evolution and you just get the regular Mirror effect, so the charge is wasted. Season 89 is due to start Monday, November 2, 2026, when Season 88's events end.

Supercell explained it in one line on stream: "If it has an evolution, Evo Mirror lets you play it." That's the whole card. It's also why r/ClashRoyale has been arguing about it since the reveal. One side thinks it's the laziest Evolution so far. The other is already preparing for "a month straight of getting blasted with double evo Firecracker and double evo E-Giant," as one commenter put it in a thread on the reveal.

This guide covers what's confirmed, what's only leaked, which cards are worth mirroring, and how Evo Mirror fits into Season 89.

Key takeaways

  • Revealed: TV Royale, October 23, 2026 (official Clash Royale YouTube channel, 600,000+ views in its first day).
  • What it does: when charged, Mirror's copy of your last card is the Evolved version, one level higher than the Mirror.
  • You don't need the Evolution. The stream says it works "even if the Evolution isn't in your Evo Slot. Even if you don't own it."
  • New combos: Hero + Evolution of the same card on the field together, or the same Evolution twice.
  • The catch: cards without an Evolution only get the normal Mirror effect.
  • Not confirmed yet: the charge cycle count, exact stats, and whether it brings back a +2 level bonus. That last one is a leak, not an announcement.
  • When: Season 89, expected November 2, 2026.

What does Evo Mirror do in Clash Royale?

Start with the base card, because Evo Mirror changes very little about it. The Mirror is an Epic spell that unlocks at Arena 15 (Miner's Mine). It has no fixed cost. Instead it costs whatever your last card cost, plus 1 Elixir, and drops a copy of that card one level higher than the Mirror itself. It never appears in your starting hand. For average-Elixir purposes, the game counts it as 1.5 Elixir.

Evo Mirror keeps all of that and adds one rule. Here's how TV Royale described it:

"You know how Mirror copies the last card you played, but one level higher? When the Evolution is ready, Mirror works its magic and the copy comes out evolved. Even if the Evolution isn't in your Evo Slot. Even if you don't own it."

So the sequence works like this:

  • Put Mirror in your Evolution slot or your Wild slot. Since the March 2026 update you get three special slots: 1 Evolution, 1 Hero and 1 Wild, and the Wild slot takes either an Evolution or a Hero/Champion. In the demo deck shown on stream, Evo Mirror sits next to an Evolved P.E.K.K.A, so you can still run a second Evolution with it.
  • Cycle Mirror until its Evolution is charged, like any other Evo.
  • Play a card that has an Evolution.
  • Play the charged Mirror. The copy comes out as that card's Evolved form, one level higher.

The Evolution is borrowed from the card you copy. Evo Mirror doesn't have an evolved effect of its own. It hands out other cards' Evolutions.

Why is Evo Mirror a big deal? Hero + Evolution on one board

TV Royale named two combos that didn't exist before:

1. A Hero and an Evolution of the same card at the same time. "For the first time, you could have a Hero and Evolution of the same card on the battlefield together." Play the Hero version from your Hero slot, then Evo Mirror it. The copy comes out as the Evolution. This only works on cards that have both a Hero form and an Evolution. Going by the Clash Royale Wiki's Hero and Evolution rosters, those are Knight, Musketeer, Valkyrie and Wizard, plus Giant once Evo Giant arrives in the same season.

2. The same Evolution twice in a row. Play a card in its Evolved form, then mirror it with a charged Evo Mirror, and you get a second Evolved copy. If the first card was a normal (non-evolved) play, you get one normal card plus one Evolved copy: the original isn't evolved after the fact. This is what the community is most worried about: two Evo Firecrackers, or two of Season 88's Evo Electro Giant.

One rule still applies to the Hero half of combo 1. Since the August 2026 balance changes, Hero and Champion abilities are single-use per deployment (Boss Bandit is the only exception). The Hero you play first still gets one ability activation. Evo Mirror doesn't give you a second one, because the copy is the Evolution, not another Hero.

Which cards should you mirror? (and which to avoid)

The rule is simple. No Evolution means no evolved copy. Supercell said so directly: "Just don't waste it on a card without an Evolution as you'll only get the regular Mirror effect."

That matters because many of the most popular cards to mirror have no Evolution. Champions, Fireball and most Legendaries all fall in that group. Mirroring them still works, but only as a regular Mirror, and you lose the charged Evolution.

The Evolution list changes every month, so check the card in-game before you build around it. The Clash Royale Wiki's Evolution roster lists 42 Evolutions, and it doesn't yet include the newest ones like Evo Electro Giant. The combos worth testing first

  • Goblin Barrel → Evo Mirror. This is the classic Mirror play. A second Barrel lands right after your opponent has used their Log or Arrows on the first. Now the copy is evolved and a level higher, so it's harder to clean up with a single small spell.
  • Hero Knight → Evo Mirror (Evo Knight). Two cheap tanks with different jobs. It costs 3 Elixir for the Knight, then 4 for the Mirror. If you play Hero Knight, read our Hero Knight guide for how the ability works since the single-use change.
  • Evolved Firecracker → charged Evo Mirror. Two Evolved Firecrackers behind a tank, but only if the first Firecracker went down evolved too (a normal Firecracker plus Evo Mirror gives you one normal and one Evolved). This is exactly what Reddit expects to see everywhere in November. If you're on the receiving end, keep a spell or a fast flanker that can hit both.
  • Giant → Evo Mirror (Season 89). Evo Giant gets angry once he's taken enough damage, punches faster, and leaves a trail of Rage that his support troops can walk through. A mirrored Evo Giant is an expensive play (Giant is 5 Elixir, so the Mirror costs 6), but it's the purest version of what Season 89 is built around.

Does Evo Mirror bring back +2 levels? (Not confirmed)

This is the most common misconception right now. A datamine thread posted before the stream claimed Evo Mirror's copy would be +2 levels instead of +1. In that thread, commenters quickly pointed to the last time Mirror got an extra level: in April 2022 Supercell raised all mirrored card levels by one, then reverted it in September 2022.

The official TV Royale description says "one level higher." It doesn't mention a +2 bonus. Until the Season 89 release notes say otherwise, treat +2 levels as unconfirmed. The same applies to the charge cycle count. Some leak posts mention it, but Supercell hasn't announced a number, so we won't print one.

When does Evo Mirror come out?

Evo Mirror is part of Season 89, which TV Royale's title card names "King vs. King." The stream didn't give a calendar date. November 2, 2026 fits everything Supercell has published, though:

  • Season 88's events end on November 2 according to the official Shocktober season notes (C.H.A.O.S Draft and C.H.A.O.S Power Surge both run to Nov 2).
  • Seasons roll over on the first Monday of the month, and November 2, 2026 is a Monday.

How to unlock it isn't fully confirmed. The stream's narration only says that this season you earn Tokens from win-condition milestones and spend them in the Season Market. Third-party recaps of the episode report that Evo Mirror (plus an animated Tower Skin) is the Season Market's top reward. We'll confirm the exact unlock path against the release notes when the season goes live. Until then, don't buy anything expecting to get it.

What else is coming in Season 89 (King vs. King)?

Clash Royale Season 89 King vs. King title card from the October 2026 TV Royale

TV Royale opened with "November is competitive season and we're starting off big." Here's everything else it announced:

  • Evo Giant. Plays like the regular building-targeting tank. Once he's taken enough damage he gets "angry. Really angry," punches faster with alternating fists, and leaves a trail of Rage behind him that his support troops can walk into.
  • Win condition weeks. "Each week, a new group of win conditions will hog the spotlight." Each one comes with milestones. In-game screens on stream showed "Win 5 battles with Giant", "Battle Ram", "Royal Giant", "Ram Rider", "Balloon" and "Three Musketeers" paying x180 Tokens each, marked "final rewards might vary."
  • Win Condition Challenges with pre-built decks, so you can earn without building every deck yourself.
  • Daily Puzzles (one week). A new puzzle every day. You get up to 4 cards, each playable once, against an opponent whose cards are placed the same way every time. Rewards scale with how few attempts you need.
  • Deck Wizard comes to Trophy Road. It builds decks from cards you own. Lock the cards you want to keep and it builds around them.
  • Clash Royale League World Finals, November 6–8. Supercell teased "a whole new way to compete," to be revealed at World Finals, with predictions, polls and viewer rewards.

One more November change that has nothing to do with Evo Mirror but catches a lot of players out: under Supercell's published ramp, the Ranked unlock requirement rises to 14,000 trophies in November 2026, up from 13,500 in September and October. That's a different system from the 14,000-trophy Trophy Road cap, even though the number is the same. Our Ranked unlock guide explains both. Supercell also said it won't ship balance changes at the start of the November season. The seasonal balance pass came early, on October 19 (see our October balance changes breakdown).

Is Evo Mirror good or overrated?

Our honest read: strong in the right deck, dead weight in the wrong one.

The case for it is flexibility. Evo Mirror sits in one of your existing special slots, but it gives you flexible access to extra Evolved copies of whichever Evolution-capable card you just played, including Evolutions you haven't unlocked. For players without many Evolutions, that's real value.

The case against it is that the base card hasn't changed. Mirror still costs your last card +1 Elixir, still copies a card your opponent just watched you play, and still loses value when you're behind on Elixir. Evo Mirror makes the copy better. It doesn't make mirroring cheaper. As one r/ClashRoyale commenter said: "Not really because it means you have to play mirror."

Where it's likely to shine:

  • Bait decks that already mirror Goblin Barrel or Skeleton Army. Both have Evolutions, so every charged Mirror is a real upgrade.
  • Hero decks running Knight, Musketeer, Valkyrie or Wizard, where the Hero + Evolution combo is unique.
  • Win-condition weeks, where a doubled-up win condition in one push is one possible way to win the milestone matches (the milestones count wins, not copies played).

Where it'll struggle: Champion decks and heavy Legendary decks. Their best mirror targets don't have Evolutions.

FAQ

What does Evo Mirror do in Clash Royale? When its Evolution is charged, Evo Mirror copies your last played card one level higher, like normal Mirror, but the copy comes out in its Evolved form. That works even if the card's Evolution isn't in your deck and even if you don't own it.

When is Evo Mirror coming out? It was revealed in the October 23, 2026 TV Royale as part of Season 89 ("King vs. King"). Season 88's events end on November 2, 2026, and that's the expected start date for Season 89.

Can Evo Mirror copy a Hero? Yes. If you play a Hero version of a card that also has an Evolution, Evo Mirror's copy comes out as the Evolution, so both are on the field at once. Supercell called this out as a first for the game. The copy doesn't get another Hero ability.

What happens if I mirror a card with no Evolution? You get the regular Mirror effect: a copy one level higher for +1 Elixir. The charged Evolution is wasted, so save it for cards that have an Evolution.

Does Evo Mirror give +2 levels? Not as far as Supercell has said. The official description says the copy is one level higher. A +2 level bonus appeared in pre-stream leaks but hasn't been confirmed. The last time Mirror got an extra level (April 2022), Supercell reverted it in September 2022.

How do I unlock Evo Mirror? Supercell hasn't confirmed the exact path in the stream narration. Season 89 Tokens come from win-condition milestones and are spent in the Season Market, and recaps report Evo Mirror is the Market's top reward. We'll confirm it when the release notes go live.
