Delta Force Polaris Patrol: How to Play as Director Desmoulins (October 2026)

Delta Force just turned the extraction mode on its head: in the new Polaris Patrol mini-mode you stop raiding the Haavk corporation and start defending it, playing as Haavk Security Director Anais Desmoulins (or her Adjutant) against the same G.T.I. operators you normally run with. It is a limited "play-as-a-boss" event tied to the Reorientation (S11) season, and it has a hard entry wall most players hit before they even see the mode.

This guide is built from Team Jade's official October 15, 2026 Steam patch post — every cost, unlock level, map, and date below is quoted from that notice, not from memory.

Quick answer: what is Polaris Patrol and how do you play it?

  • What it is: a limited-time Operations mini-mode where you play as Haavk Security Director Desmoulins or her Adjutant, fighting off invading G.T.I. operators instead of extracting loot.
  • When it is live: October 16, 2026, 00:00 UTC → January 26, 2027, 02:00 UTC (visible in-client after the 10/15 update).
  • The gate: unlock the Desmoulins File at Operations Level 33, then spend a Security Director's Work Badge (250,000 Tekniq Alloys each) to enter as Desmoulins.
  • The cheaper way in: play an Adjutant (Heavy Guard or Comms Guard) — unlocked by default, no Work Badge needed — but a Desmoulins must be in your squad.
  • Where it runs: Space City – Normal/Hard and AZ3 – Normal.
  • Why bother: Performance-Rank rewards, the red-quality Petite Madame / Requin Model collectibles, the Serenity weapon appearance, and an exclusive M700 attachment.

What exactly is Polaris Patrol in Delta Force?

Polaris Patrol is a returning "play-as-a-boss" mode — this season rebuilt around Desmoulins. Instead of dropping in as a G.T.I. operator to loot and extract, you flip to the other side of the fiction and play as Haavk's security leadership repelling the raid.

Team Jade frames the whole event as a character study. The official event blurb reads:

"The Space City incident, the AZ3 crisis, ambitious Hudson's flagrant disregard for the rules, and his daughter Cami's doubts and accusations have thrust Haavk Security Director Desmoulins into a double crisis, both professional and personal. Will she keep playing by the rules and the Adage, climbing the ranks one step at a time? Or will she embrace radical change and strike Hudson down by any means necessary?"

A few mechanics make this different from a normal Operations raid:

  • When you enter, your role switches to Desmoulins or the Adjutant, and your appearance plus abilities change to match.
  • Friendly Haavk units stay neutral toward your squad — except Hudson's units, who remain hostile.
  • Results are scored on operation performance, earning Performance Points that raise your Performance Rank.
  • This is not a one-sided event. Unlike the earlier Fiery Owl Hunt, G.T.I. operators can also earn Performance Points by defeating Squad Desmoulins, and killing a player-controlled Desmoulins lets them search her mezzanine for the same limited red-quality collectibles.

If you have been running the extraction grind, start from our Delta Force Operations extraction guide — the core survival rules still apply here, you are just on the defending side.

How do you unlock Polaris Patrol? (The Desmoulins File + Work Badge)

There are two separate unlocks, and this is where most players stall.

1. Unlock the Desmoulins identity — the Desmoulins File. The Desmoulins File is the story-driven unlock that opens the Desmoulins identity. Per the patch notes it is unlocked at Operations Level 33 and presents five mission branches, of which you must choose and complete three. The file is framed as exploring "five memories within the box — sync, feel, and understand." Finish it and you unlock both the Desmoulins identity option and the Director's To-Do tasks in Polaris Challenge.

2. Pay to deploy as Desmoulins — the Work Badge. Entering a match as Desmoulins costs one Security Director's Work Badge. These are bought at the Supply Station for 250,000 Tekniq Alloys each. You can hold a limited stock:

  • You can initially purchase 4 badges.
  • One additional purchase slot restores every 21 hours.
  • You can store a maximum of 8 at once.

At 250,000 Tekniq Alloys per badge, this is a serious Operations-economy sink — for context, a Normal AZ3 raid entry runs 112,500 Alloys, so a single Desmoulins deployment costs more than two AZ3 Normal runs. If you are short on Alloys, our Brakkesh loot and Tekniq Alloy guide covers the fastest legitimate in-match farming routes.

The free alternative — play an Adjutant. Adjutants (the Heavy Guard and Comms Guard) are unlocked by default and require no Work Badge. The catch: a Desmoulins must be present in your squad for an Adjutant to enter. So the efficient squad play is one teammate spends a badge as Desmoulins while the rest ride in free as Adjutants.

What abilities does Desmoulins's squad get?

Squad Desmoulins plays nothing like a standard operator. Here is the official kit.

Security Director — Anais Desmoulins:

  • Neural-Controlled Vehicle — deploys and remotely controls a Haavk vehicle with a multi-function Weapon Station (MG, Grenade Launcher, Threat Imaging System, Seeker Bomb Vehicle modules).
  • Threat Imaging System — scans and marks nearby threats and shares target data with the squad; while active she gains handling and ADS movement speed, and in a vehicle can lock onto targets for certain vehicle weapons.
  • Seeker Bomb Vehicle — a small vehicle that drives forward hunting enemies, auto-locks on a detected target, and detonates after a short delay.
  • Weakness Analysis (trait) — enemies she hits suffer reduced armor-repair speed and slower medical-item use; downed targets bleed faster and move less.

Adjutant — Athos Leal brings a Remote Bomb and Smoke Grenade (both can attach to the Neural-Controlled Vehicle), plus the Haavk Elite trait that drags allies to safety and grants a speed boost when he is near Desmoulins or the vehicle during damage.

Adjutant — Aramis Orgueil swaps in a Flare (hovering scan) and an Airburst Grenade, with the same Haavk Elite rescue trait.

Note those Adjutant traits in particular: this squad is built around a controllable vehicle and around keeping Desmoulins alive, not around solo fragging. Play it like a defense, not a deathmatch.

Which maps and difficulties does Polaris Patrol use?

The mode runs on a tight map pool:

  • Normal Operation: Space City – Normal and AZ3 – Normal.
  • Hard Operation: Space City – Hard.

Desmoulins also gets a map-specific perk: she can use the executive elevator and its exclusive extraction point in the Space City garden. If G.T.I. kills her, they can pick up her special Access Card in the mezzanine sector to use that same route. If you are not familiar with the layout, the Space City map guide walks the extraction rework and keycard routes that this event is built on top of.

What rewards does Polaris Patrol give?

Rewards scale with your Performance Rank. The headline pulls:

  • Desmoulins Reward Crate — a chance at the red-quality Petite Madame or Requin Model; collect both and they assemble into the Petite Madame - Requin Model, placeable in your EDC Tool Kit and brought into matches.
  • Desmoulins Exclusive Weapon Appearance: Serenity.
  • M700 Sniper Rifle attachment — HVK Whirlwind Enhanced Gas Block — craftable once Polaris Patrol reaches the Hunter stage, limited to 10 per week.
  • Cosmetics — Desmoulins Avatar, Spray Paint, Calling Card, and Gesture.
  • Challenge-mission rewards — large Performance-Point bumps, combat supplies, and unique Custom Gear Tickets.

G.T.I. players are not shut out: defeating a player-controlled Desmoulins lets you search the Desmoulins Mezzanine for a chance at the same Petite Madame or Requin Model collectibles.

What else arrived with the October 15 update?

Polaris Patrol headlines a broader no-downtime patch:

  • 7-Day Login (10/16–10/25): sign in all seven days for the Graffiti Art - PSG-1, plus TurBrick Deltaversary Gifts and an Armament Voucher.
  • Petite Madame Rampage (10/16–11/9): complete Operations tasks for the Action - Perfect Sync and an Armament Voucher.
  • Haavk Attachments (10/16–11/9): new limited HVK Whirlwind Frame System and Enhanced Gas Block attachments — buy from the Auction House (Operations) or Armory (Warfare), or pull them at low chance from in-match crates.
  • Expert Choice (10/16–10/22): complete missions with the MDR and Thompson SMG for weapon tokens and an Armament Voucher.
  • Balance tweaks: Stinger and Shepherd were nerfed, and Rover's Clover now stacks with diminishing returns (1 Clover = 20 damage; 3 Clovers = 7 damage each at a 3x damage-taken multiplier) with its duration cut from 50s to 40s.

A note on Tekniq Alloys and staying banned-proof

Polaris Patrol is expensive, and that makes it a magnet for people selling shortcuts. Be careful. Delta Force runs the most aggressive anti-RMT enforcement of any shooter we cover — Team Jade publishes a weekly enforcement bulletin, and the October 12, 2026 notice alone reported hundreds of thousands of economic-security actions, including a new policy of clawing back Tekniq Alloys moved through queue sniping and permanent account bans with IP notifications.

The only safe way to afford Work Badges is to earn Tekniq Alloys in-match — loot routing, Auction House flipping, and event freebies. Alloys bought from a third-party seller, or an account someone else logs into for you, are exactly the "abnormal login environment" signals Team Jade says it profiles for. For how the clawbacks actually work, see our Delta Force ban wave explainer.

Frequently Asked Questions

What level do you need for Polaris Patrol in Delta Force? You unlock the Desmoulins File — the story unlock that opens the Desmoulins identity — at Operations Level 33. Adjutant roles (Heavy Guard, Comms Guard) are unlocked by default, but you still need a Desmoulins in your squad to deploy as one.

How much does a Security Director's Work Badge cost? 250,000 Tekniq Alloys each, bought from the Supply Station. You can initially buy 4, regain one purchase slot every 21 hours, and store up to 8.

Can you play Polaris Patrol for free? Partly. Playing an Adjutant needs no Work Badge, but your squad must include a Desmoulins (who does spend a badge). There is no way to deploy as Desmoulins herself without a 250,000-Alloy badge.

What maps is Polaris Patrol on? Space City – Normal, Space City – Hard, and AZ3 – Normal.

How long is Polaris Patrol available? It becomes visible after the 10/15 update and is playable from October 16, 2026, 00:00 UTC through January 26, 2027, 02:00 UTC.

What are the best rewards in Polaris Patrol? The red-quality Petite Madame and Requin Model collectibles (which combine into a placeable EDC item), the Serenity weapon appearance, and the HVK Whirlwind Enhanced Gas Block attachment for the M700 (craftable at the Hunter stage, 10 per week).

Is it safe to buy Tekniq Alloys to afford Work Badges? No. Delta Force's anti-RMT enforcement is severe, Team Jade actively confiscates illicitly obtained Alloys and issues permanent bans. Earn Alloys in-match instead.
