Quick answer (updated 28 October 2026, Chapter 7 Season 4 "Override", Fortnitemares 2026): The new Fortnite Predator skin is Dek, the young exiled Yautja from the 2025 film Predator: Badlands. Epic named the crossover in its Fortnitemares 2026 announcement and put him in the official gameplay trailer on 1 October, so the collab itself is confirmed. The release slot isn't from Epic. Creator schedules and leak accounts point to the 28 October Item Shop reset: 8 PM ET on 28 October, which is 00:00 UTC / midnight UK on Thursday 29 October. Dataminers report a set with the Dek outfit (3 styles: Base, Helmet, Masked), a back bling, a Plasma Sword pickaxe and an emote. Epic has not posted a V-Bucks price. Our estimate is about 1,500 V-Bucks for the outfit and about 2,000 for the bundle, going by how this year's other Fortnitemares collabs were priced. Dek is a different skin from the 2021 Battle Pass Predator, and buying one does not unlock the other.
Key takeaways
- Who: Dek, the lead of Predator: Badlands (20th Century Studios, released 7 November 2025, directed by Dan Trachtenberg), played by Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi.
- Confirmed by Epic: Dek appears roughly 15 seconds into Epic's Fortnitemares 2026 gameplay trailer, which went out on 1 October 2026.
- Expected drop: the 28 October shop reset, which is 00:00 UTC on 29 October. Creator schedule and leakers; not Epic-announced.
- Reported set: outfit, back bling, Plasma Sword pickaxe and emote. Leakers say the back bling is Thia, Elle Fanning's android character.
- Price: not announced. Estimate ~1,500 V-Bucks for the outfit and ~2,000 for the bundle.
- Deadline: Fortnitemares 2026 ends 1 November 2026, the same day Override ends and Treasure Hunters (v43.00) begins.
Is the Predator: Badlands collab confirmed in Fortnite?
Yes, the crossover is confirmed. Only the shop date and price are still unofficial.
Epic listed Predator: Badlands among the collabs in its Fortnitemares 2026 announcement and released the Fortnitemares 2026 gameplay trailer on 1 October 2026 (this link is the PlayStation channel upload of Epic's trailer). Dek shows up around the 15-second mark: first a full-body shot walking through the Nightmare Neighborhood streets, then a close-up of his face. Horror and film outlets reported him the same day. Bloody Disgusting said the trailer "includes skins for Hazbin Hotel, Dek from Predator Badlands, Five Nights at Freddy's, Slender Man, The Purge, Beetlejuice, and of course, Freddy Krueger."
Most of the trailer's collabs went on sale earlier in October, but Dek didn't. On 23 October, Future of the Force wrote that "there's still no sign of Beetlejuice or Dek from Predator: Badlands." That's why players have been asking when he'd arrive, and why he's turning up in the event's last few days.
When does the Dek skin come out in Fortnite?
The expected release is the 28 October 2026 Item Shop rotation. Fortnite's shop resets daily at 00:00 UTC, so the "28 October" drop goes live on the evening of the 28th in the Americas and in the early hours of the 29th elsewhere.
| Region | Local release time |
|---|---|
| US Pacific (PDT) | 5:00 PM, Wednesday 28 October |
| US Eastern (EDT) | 8:00 PM, Wednesday 28 October |
| UK (GMT) | 12:00 AM (midnight), Thursday 29 October |
| Central Europe (CET) | 1:00 AM, Thursday 29 October |
| Moscow (MSK) | 3:00 AM, Thursday 29 October |
| Sydney (AEDT) | 11:00 AM, Thursday 29 October |
Daylight saving catch: the UK and the EU moved their clocks back on 25 October, but the US doesn't until 1 November. For this one week the gap between New York and London is 4 hours, not the usual 5. If an older guide says "1 AM UK," it's using the wrong offset.
Where the date comes from: Techtroduce's write-up of the leak says community account FNBRunderground "identified that release window." The Click traces it to "an Epic creator schedule reported by Fortnite news outlets." Techtroduce also reports that dataminer FireMonkey said on 28 October that the set's encrypted files had been decrypted, which usually happens shortly before a shop release. That's strong evidence, but Epic hasn't confirmed it yet. If Dek isn't in the shop after the reset, the next reset is at 00:00 UTC on 30 October.
What's in the Predator: Badlands bundle?
Everything below comes from leaks and datamines. Epic hasn't published a store listing yet, so check the in-game preview before you buy.
| Item | Type | What's reported | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dek | Outfit | 3 styles: Base, Helmet, Masked | Leaked (ShiinaBR and others) |
| Thia | Back Bling | Elle Fanning's android, carried on Dek's back as she is in the film | Leaked (Future of the Force) |
| Plasma Sword | Pickaxe | Harvesting tool based on Dek's blade | Leaked |
| Themed emote | Emote | Name not confirmed | Leaked |
The Thia back bling is the piece players are talking about most. Future of the Force posted on 27 October:
"Dek will use Elle Fanning's Thia as a back bling in the FORTNITE 'PREDATOR BADLANDS' bundle."
That fits the film, where the legless android rides on Dek's back for much of the story. In the r/FortniteBR thread about the leak, players mostly wanted Thia as a Sidekick rather than a back bling ("this has to be a side kick"). One commenter shared a supposed in-game description for the backpack, "Take the Elle." That line is unverified, so treat it as a fan report until the item goes live.
About the styles: Base, Helmet and Masked appear to change Dek's headgear rather than give you three different characters. That matters for a Predator skin. The masked hunter look is the classic silhouette, and the unmasked Base style shows the new, younger face that Badlands introduced.
How much will the Dek skin cost in V-Bucks?
Epic hasn't announced a price, and we haven't found a reliable leaked one (as of 28 October, 15:30 UTC). Here's what we can estimate from this year's Fortnitemares:
- Lady Liberty (The Purge) went on sale on 18 October 2026 for 1,500 V-Bucks, with her back bling included. The Purge Bundle (adding the pickaxe, emote and wrap) cost 2,000 V-Bucks.
- Historically, an Epic-rarity outfit has usually cost 1,500 V-Bucks. That's a pattern, not a rule, and some licensed characters have sold for more.
Our estimate: ~1,500 V-Bucks for Dek (very likely with the Thia back bling included, as with Lady Liberty) and ~2,000 V-Bucks for the full four-item bundle. The pickaxe and emote should also be sold separately.
What that costs in real money (US): since Epic's 19 March 2026 V-Bucks repricing, $8.99 buys 800 V-Bucks and $22.99 buys 2,400. Starting from zero with fixed packs, a 1,500 V-Buck outfit takes two 800 packs ($17.98) or one 2,400 pack, and the 2,400 pack also covers a 2,000 V-Buck bundle with 400 left over. Epic's Exact Amount option lets you top up only what you're missing on supported platforms, and any balance you already have lowers the cost.
Scam warning: Epic hasn't announced any free Dek code, and V-Bucks "generators" aren't an Epic service. The official ways to get Dek are buying him with V-Bucks in the Item Shop or receiving him as a gift. Treat any site offering a free Predator skin as a phishing risk for your Epic login.
We'll update this section with the exact prices once the listing is live.
Is Dek the same as the old Fortnite Predator skin?
No. They're two different outfits from two different films.
| Predator (2021) | Dek (2026) | |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Classic Predator franchise | Predator: Badlands (2025) |
| Released | 20 January 2021, Update v15.21 | Expected 28 October 2026 reset |
| How you got it | Chapter 2 Season 5 Battle Pass, unlocked through the Jungle Hunter Quests | Item Shop (V-Bucks) |
| Rarity / set | Legendary, Jungle Hunter Set | Not yet listed |
| Styles | Default, No Mask | Base, Helmet, Masked (reported) |
When the original arrived, Epic's announcement read: "One of the most feared Hunters of all time arrives on the Island. Battle Pass owners, complete the Jungle Hunter Quests to unlock the Predator." It was a Battle Pass reward worth 950 V-Bucks in pass value, never a standard shop item. Buying Dek won't unlock the 2021 Predator or its No Mask style, and you can't reach the old Jungle Hunter Quests anymore.
If you own both, Dek's masked style and the 2021 Predator side by side make an obvious duo for Fortnitemares squads.
Who is Dek in Predator: Badlands?
If you haven't seen the film, here's the short version so the cosmetics make sense:
- Dek is a young Yautja (the Predator species) who is exiled from his clan for being considered too weak. To prove himself he sets out to kill an apex predator on a hostile world.
- Thia (Elle Fanning) is a Weyland-Yutani synthetic, the corporation from the Alien films. She's been torn in half and travels on Dek's back. That's why the leaked back bling is her.
- The film was directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who also made Prey and Predator: Killer of Killers. It released on 7 November 2025, runs 1h 47m, and is rated PG-13.
In the film Dek is the protagonist, closer to an anti-hero than the trophy-hunting monster of the 1987 original. That's also why his Fortnite outfit looks younger and rougher than the armoured 2021 Predator.
How do you get the Dek skin before Fortnitemares ends?
- Wait for the reset. Open Fortnite after 8 PM ET on 28 October / 00:00 UTC on 29 October and go to the Shop tab. Collabs are usually grouped in their own section, so look for Predator: Badlands.
- Preview everything. Check all three styles in the locker preview and see whether the Thia back bling comes with the outfit before you pay.
- Compare the outfit with the bundle. If you only want Dek, the single outfit is the cheaper option. If you want the pickaxe or emote too, the bundle is usually discounted.
- Gift instead of buying for yourself (optional). Per Epic's gifting rules, you need two-factor authentication turned on, the recipient has to have been your friend for at least two days, there's a limit of 5 gifts per rolling 24 hours, and gifts can't be refunded. Our Item Shop reset, refunds and gifting guide covers the rules.
- Don't count on it staying. Epic hasn't said how long Dek will stay in the shop. Fortnitemares 2026 ends on 1 November, the day Override ends and Treasure Hunters (v43.00) begins. Licensed sets can come back to the shop later, but Epic never guarantees a return date.
Dek's own clan didn't think he'd make it to the end, and he's arriving in the last four days of the event. If you want him, plan to buy in the first rotation rather than waiting for a second one.
What else is happening before Override ends?
The shop drop lands in a packed week:
- The Final Spritemare (27–31 October) runs 2x Sprite XP and 2x Sprite Dust every day. Details are in our Final Spritemare guide.
- Override ends on 1 November 2026 (Epic's Battle Pass page says "Ends November 1, 2026 Eastern Time"). Rewards you've already earned but not claimed are granted automatically the next time you log in. See when Chapter 7 Season 4 ends.
- Treasure Hunters starts with v43.00 on 1 November, with the One Piece collab Epic has already teased. Our Treasure Hunters guide tracks what's confirmed.

FAQ
Is there a new Predator skin in Fortnite? Yes. It's Dek from Predator: Badlands. Epic named the collab in its Fortnitemares 2026 announcement and showed him in the official gameplay trailer on 1 October 2026. Leakers expect him in the 28 October Item Shop (00:00 UTC on 29 October).
What time does the Dek skin release? Expected at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT on 28 October, which is midnight UK and 00:00 UTC on 29 October. That's the daily shop reset. The timing comes from creator schedules and leakers, not an Epic post.
How much is the Predator Badlands bundle? Epic hasn't announced a price. Going by this year's Purge collab (1,500 V-Bucks outfit, 2,000 V-Bucks bundle), expect about 1,500 for Dek and about 2,000 for the full set.
Does the Dek skin come with Thia? Leakers report Thia as Dek's back bling. If it follows the Lady Liberty pattern, the back bling will come with the outfit, but check the shop preview to be sure.
Can I still get the old Predator skin? Not through the Battle Pass. It was a Chapter 2 Season 5 reward from the Jungle Hunter Quests in January 2021. Buying Dek doesn't unlock it.
Is the Dek skin free? No. It's an Item Shop cosmetic paid for with V-Bucks, and Epic hasn't announced any free code for it. Treat "free Predator skin" or V-Bucks generator sites as scams.
