Quick answer (updated 27 October 2026, Chapter 7 Season 4 "Override"): The Fortnite Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks and pays 800 V-Bucks back as you level it, so one purchase can fund the next pass. It's also included in Fortnite Crew ($11.99/month). The current pass is the Override Battle Pass: 8 skins, with Sonic the Hedgehog unlocked on purchase and Geno at level 85. Epic's Battle Pass page says it ends on 1 November 2026 (Eastern Time); some trackers list 31 October. If you've earned rewards you haven't claimed, Epic says you'll get them automatically the next time you log in. The next Battle Pass is Treasure Hunters, the mini-season that starts 1 November 2026 with v43.00. Epic released its trailer on 27 October. Epic still hasn't published the official pass lineup. The skins most likely to be in it are anime remixes of Jonesy and Hope.

Key takeaways

  • Price: 800 V-Bucks (a $8.99 pack since the 19 March 2026 repricing), or included in Fortnite Crew.
  • Payback: every Battle Pass contains 800 V-Bucks in total, and the free track gives 300 V-Bucks but never an outfit (Fortnite Wiki).
  • Levels: 80,000 XP per level. Full seasons have 100 rewards plus 50 bonus rewards, maxed at level 200. Mini-seasons have 50 rewards plus 10 bonus rewards, maxed at level 70.
  • Override ends: 1 November 2026 ET per Epic's Battle Pass page. That leaves under 5 days from this update.
  • Next pass: Treasure Hunters, 1 November 2026. Mini-season passes have historically had 5 outfits, against 8 in a full season.

How much does the Fortnite Battle Pass cost?

The premium Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks. Since Epic's V-Bucks repricing on 19 March 2026, the smallest pack is 800 V-Bucks for $8.99 (it used to be 1,000), and the pass itself dropped from 1,000 to 800 V-Bucks. Epic's stated reason was blunt: "The cost of running Fortnite has gone up a lot and we're raising prices to help pay the bills." (Epic, March 2026)

Here's every way to pay for it, and what each one costs:

OptionCostWhat you get
Free Pass0A small set of free rewards, including 300 V-Bucks, but no outfits
Battle Pass800 V-BucksEvery premium reward on the pass. It contains 800 V-Bucks in total
Battle Pass + 25 levels2,600 V-BucksThe pass plus a one-per-season 25-level bundle
25-level bundle (alone)1,800 V-Bucks25 levels at a discount (3,750 at the normal rate)
Single level150 V-BucksOne level. You can buy up to 100, and none after level 200
Fortnite Crew$11.99/monthBattle Pass, OG Pass, Music Pass and LEGO Pass, a monthly skin and 800 V-Bucks. Premium pass access lasts while the subscription is active

Level-bundle prices are from the Fortnite Wiki Battle Pass page. Crew inclusions are from Epic Player Support. Prices are current as of 27 October 2026.

The 800 V-Bucks payback is the key number. If you level the pass far enough to collect all of it, one 800 V-Buck purchase pays for every pass after it, as long as you keep playing. That's why most players treat the pass as a one-time $8.99 entry fee.

What's in the current Fortnite Battle Pass (Override)?

The Chapter 7 Season 4 pass, Override, launched with the season on 20 August 2026. It has 8 outfits. Each outfit unlocks a two-page set of cosmetics once you hit that set's level. Inside an unlocked set, every level you gain lets you claim one more reward.

After level 100, you can keep going into bonus pages for Mali, Grace Crowne, Bastian, K1ttyW1ns and Phantom. Those are extra styles, sprays, wraps and loading screens, at 2 levels per reward. The bonus pages contain no extra V-Bucks.

Geno is also the season's villain. If you're still finishing his questline, our Geno story quests guide covers every step.

When does the Override Battle Pass end?

Epic's own Battle Pass page reads "Ends November 1, 2026 Eastern Time." Some trackers and the community wiki list 31 October. Epic hasn't confirmed the exact hour. The changeover happens during the v43.00 server downtime, and our Fortnite server status page tracks it live. For the full countdown, see when Chapter 7 Season 4 ends.

Two things matter before it closes:

  • You can't buy the Override pass after the season ends. You also can't progress or claim rewards on a past season's pass. Each new season starts your Battle Pass progress from scratch (your overall account level carries on).
  • Earned rewards you haven't claimed still arrive. Epic Player Support puts it plainly: "If you forget to claim rewards from the Passes in Fortnite before the season ends, you will receive them automatically the next time you log in." (Epic Player Support) This only covers levels you've actually earned. It won't fill in a set you never reached.

If you're a few levels short of Geno (level 85) or the V-Bucks on the last pages, this final week is your last chance. The Final Spritemare event (27–31 October) mostly boosts Sprites and loot, not Battle Pass XP, so don't count on it for levels. Our XP map list and fast level-up guide are the quickest legitimate ways to close the gap.

How does the Fortnite Battle Pass work in 2026?

Battle Stars are gone. The pass now runs on Season XP, and XP earned in any Fortnite experience counts, from Battle Royale and Reload to Creative islands. The rules, per the Fortnite Wiki:

  • Every 80,000 XP = 1 level = 1 reward claim. Reaching level 100 takes about 8,000,000 XP.
  • Rewards come in sets, one per outfit, each with 2 pages of roughly 6–8 rewards. Only the first set is open at the start. The rest unlock at set levels (10, 35, 60 and 85 on Override).
  • Sometimes you choose between two sets. The one you don't pick gets a higher level requirement.
  • Some rewards are gated behind claiming others on the same page first. Styles and built-in emotes usually unlock when you clear a page pair.
  • Bonus rewards start at level 100 and cost 2 levels each. Only paid pass holders can claim them.
  • All rewards are done at level 200 (level 70 in a mini-season). You can't buy levels past that point.

Weekly XP caps exist, but Epic has never published them. The commonly quoted figures are community measurements, mostly from Creative XP islands: about 4 million XP a week, and a daily soft cap of roughly 200k–600k where XP per action starts to shrink. Treat those as estimates, not rules.

What is the next Fortnite Battle Pass?

The next pass belongs to Fortnite Treasure Hunters, the Chapter 7 mini-season launching 1 November 2026 with update v43.00. Epic's profile on X now reads "Treasure Hunters 11.1 ❌". On 27 October at 13:01 UTC Epic posted the 28-second trailer with a one-line caption: "Tempting, isn't it?" (@Fortnite on X) Full background on the season is in our Treasure Hunters guide.

What we can say with confidence:

  • Price: every pass since the March 2026 repricing has cost 800 V-Bucks and contained 800 V-Bucks (before that it was 1,000, with up to 1,500 back). Nothing suggests Treasure Hunters will be different, but Epic hasn't posted the price yet.
  • Size: mini-seasons are short. The last November mini-season, The Simpsons, ran 1–29 November 2025. The wiki records mini-season passes as 5 outfits, 50 levels and 10 bonus rewards, so expect a smaller pass than Override's 8 skins.
  • Length: Epic hasn't announced an end date. The community wiki lists 5 December and one outlet says 1 December. Neither date comes from Epic.

Which skins are in the Treasure Hunters Battle Pass?

Epic has not published the pass lineup as of 27 October 2026. Several outlets have printed confident lists, but they disagree with each other. Here's what the evidence actually supports:

CharacterWhere it's been shownIn the pass?
Jonesy (anime remix)Key art, 27 Oct trailer, London Soho wanted posterLikely. It's on the posters that point to a five-skin remix pass

That's also the question players are asking. A thread on r/FortniteBR today guesses "Luffy, Buggy, CTM, Hope, Jonesy" for the pass, reasoning that past mini-seasons had five outfits. Replies push back: "i thought oscar would make more sense in the battlepass instead of buggy." The likeliest answer is a pass of Fortnite originals remixed in anime style, with the licensed characters (One Piece, Teto, Miku) sold in the Item Shop. Treat that as a forecast until Epic posts its official pass overview. For Override, that overview went up a couple of days before launch. More on the collab itself: Fortnite x One Piece and Kasane Teto and Hatsune Miku.

Will Override Battle Pass skins ever come back?

They might, but not soon. Starting with Chapter 5 Season 4, Epic's policy allows Battle Pass cosmetics to come back to the Item Shop at least 18 months after their pass expires. That makes mid-2028 the earliest possible return for Sonic, Geno and the rest of the Override set. It's a permission, not a promise. Plenty of eligible pass skins have never come back. The first batch only returned on 29 June 2026 (Gwenpool, War Machine, Peelverine, Captain Jones and Mysterio bundles at 2,000–2,400 V-Bucks each, per the Fortnite Wiki). Note that a returned skin costs far more than the 800 V-Buck pass did.

Is the Fortnite Battle Pass worth it?

For anyone who plays most weeks: yes, by a wide margin. The arithmetic is simple:

  • 800 V-Bucks in, 800 V-Bucks back. Finish it and the net cost is zero.
  • 8 outfits on Override, against 800–2,000 V-Bucks for a single outfit in the Item Shop.
  • Clearing the pages takes 100 levels, or about 8M XP, over a roughly 73-day season. Daily quests, weekly quests and a couple of XP islands get most players there.

It's a worse deal for a mini-season if you start late. Treasure Hunters will likely be about a month long. If you only play weekends, check that you can reach the last V-Bucks pages before buying, or the payback breaks.

Battle Pass or Crew? Buy Crew only if you want a monthly skin and the other passes too. Crew includes the Battle Pass, OG, Music and LEGO passes, a monthly skin and 800 V-Bucks a month for $11.99. That grant was cut from 1,000 to 800. One catch: Crew's pass access only lasts while you're subscribed, so claim premium rewards before you cancel. The November 2026 Crew skin, Monarcha (found in the game files), is due on 1 November. Here's what the Crew pack includes.

FAQ

How much is the Fortnite Battle Pass in 2026? The Battle Pass costs 800 V-Bucks, which is the $8.99 pack after Epic's 19 March 2026 repricing. It's also included in Fortnite Crew at $11.99/month. The pass contains 800 V-Bucks in total, so completing it pays for the next one.

When does the Fortnite Battle Pass end? The Override pass ends with Chapter 7 Season 4. Epic's Battle Pass page says 1 November 2026 Eastern Time, and some trackers say 31 October. The Treasure Hunters pass replaces it when v43.00 goes live on 1 November.

What happens if I don't claim my Battle Pass rewards before the season ends? You still get them. Epic says unclaimed Pass rewards are granted automatically the next time you log in. That only covers levels you actually earned before the season closed.

Can you still buy the Override Battle Pass after the season ends? No. Old passes can't be bought, levelled or claimed after their season ends. If you want Sonic, Geno or the rest of the Override set, buy before the 1 November changeover.

How many skins are in the Treasure Hunters Battle Pass? Epic hasn't confirmed it yet. Mini-season passes have historically had 5 outfits, and street posters point to five anime remixes of Fortnite originals, starting with Jonesy and Hope. The One Piece characters, Teto, Miku, A$AP Rocky and Lil Uzi Vert are shown in the trailer, but Epic hasn't said whether they're in the pass or the shop.

Is there a free way to get the Battle Pass? Only legitimate ones: the free track pays 300 V-Bucks, and the premium pass pays back its own 800 V-Bucks. Crew includes it, and you can redeem a V-Bucks gift card you bought. Epic has never issued free V-Bucks codes, and every "V-Bucks generator" is a scam that targets your account.
