On 13 September 2026 HoYoverse published the Version 7.1 Craftsperson Guide for Miliastra Wonderland. The post contains 161 characters of readable text and eight images. Everything that actually changes in the editor is drawn inside those pictures, which is why most Miliastra coverage right now stops at "there are new features" and moves on.

So we read the pictures. Below is a full transcription of all six upgrade panels, plus the dated facts around them.

Quick answer: Version 7.1 goes live on 23 September 2026, and Miliastra Wonderland gets six editor upgrades: client controls driven by client scripts, Shared Creation Mode for multiplayer co-editing, new Unit Status effects, configurable Jump Skills, upgraded combat and complex-creation nodes, and 350 or more new effects and decorative objects. The "Amongst the Thousand Stars: Wonderlands Creator Contest" also starts on 23 September, with prizes including Creation Ticket No. 1 and Primogems. Before that, four things expire: the Miliastra Shop discount and the Phantasmagoric Chronicle pass on 21 September 03:59, the "Phantasmagoric Discourse" Event Ode on 22 September 14:59, and the Version 7.0 Inspiration Incentive Program on 22 September 23:59 (UTC+8).

Article status: verified 16 September 2026. The feature list is transcribed from the Version 7.1 Craftsperson Guide infographic HoYoverse posted to HoYoLAB on 13 September 2026 (post 46673260), read panel by panel at full resolution. The contest details come from the official announcement of 15 September 2026 (post 46704315). The 23 September update date is lifted off HoYoverse's own Version 7.1 Event Calendar (post 46673425). The expiry timestamps and shop prices come from the live in-game announcement feed, enumerated on 16 September 2026. Version 7.0 "Everwinter Without Mercy" is still the live version as this is written.

When does Miliastra Wonderland get its 7.1 update?

On 23 September 2026, with the Version 7.1 update itself. The Version 7.1 Event Calendar that HoYoverse published on 13 September carries an explicit "09/23 Version 7.1 Update" marker at the left edge of its September column, and every time on that calendar is UTC+8.

That is the same day the contest opens, which is not a coincidence: HoYoverse has scheduled the editor upgrade and the first contest for creations built with it on the same date. Day one is the start line, not a warm-up. The full dated breakdown of what else lands that day is in our Genshin 7.1 events calendar, and the version timing itself in the Genshin 7.1 release date explainer.

What is the Wonderlands Creator Contest?

The first one HoYoverse has run for Miliastra Wonderland. The key art carries the subtitle "The First Creator Contest Begins," and the announcement is short enough to quote in full rather than paraphrase:

"Starting September 23, embark on a creative journey in the Miliastra Sandbox and publish your Wonderlands following the contest rules for a chance to win rewards, including the 'Creation Ticket No.1' and Primogems. Outstanding Wonderlands will also receive additional official promotional support."

Three things in that sentence are worth slowing down on.

Creation Ticket No. 1 is not a cosmetic. HoYoverse's own Inspiration Incentive Program page states that "Creation rewards will be distributed in the form of Creation Ticket No.1" and that "Craftspeople can redeem Creation Ticket No.1 for cash in the Creator Center." The prize pool includes a real-money instrument, not only Primogems.

"Official promotional support" is the second prize. Standing out inside a user-generated mode is a discovery problem before it is a design problem, and HoYoverse is offering to solve discovery for the winners.

The rules are not out yet. Entry requirements, judging criteria, submission windows and prize tiers are all still unpublished as of 16 September 2026. Anyone quoting a specific prize amount right now is guessing.

What changes in the Editor and Miliastra Sandbox in 7.1?

Six things. This is the Content Overview panel from the Craftsperson Guide, transcribed word for word:

  • "Adds new client controls that work with client scripts to enable logic-based control"
  • "Adds Shared Creation Mode, allowing multiple players to work together on a Wonderland"
  • "Adds new 'Unit Status' features"
  • "Improves 'Jump Skill' and adds support for custom skill configuration"
  • "Improves nodes such as 'Combat Node' and 'Complex Creation Node'"
  • "Continues to update assets"

The detail panels behind each of those six are where the actual scope lives.

Client controls and client scripts

The guide adds a "Client Control Container" to UI Control Group Management, "allowing you to freely create and edit Client Controls within the container." The stated payoff is broad: "Client Scripts allow you to dynamically control Client Control behavior, improving UI interactions, enabling smooth animations, and supporting most types of 2D gameplay."

"Most types of 2D gameplay" is the sentence that matters. The UI control list visible in the panel includes Item Display, Pop-up, Floating Interaction Page, Deck Selector, Progress Bar, Timer, Scoreboard, Text and Image Input Box, Status Display Area, Subscribe Button, and now the Client Control Container.

Shared Creation Mode

This is the headline change for anyone who has tried to build something ambitious alone. The panel reads: "Adds multiplayer co-editing, allowing assets in a save (Entities, Player Templates, Classes, Entity Node Graphs, etc.) to be split across different Shared Creation sections, so multiple Craftspeople can work together on the same Wonderland."

The screenshot shows Shared Creation Mode as a new entry at the bottom of the Stage Settings sidebar, with a "Currently Editing: Shared Creation Section..." label underneath. Paimon's summary is blunt: "Now Craftspeople can finally edit saves and build Wonderlands together with friends!" The word "finally" is doing real work there. Until 7.1, a Wonderland was a single-author project.

Unit Status effects

Two new effects, both transcribed from the panel. The first: "Adds the 'Character Movement Disabled' effect, allowing Craftspeople to restrict Character Entity movement by applying the effect." The second: "Adds the 'Creation Levitation' effect, allowing Complex Creations to be placed or suspended in midair."

Small-sounding, genuinely enabling. Movement lockout is the foundation of cutscenes, dialogue beats and timed stage gates. Midair placement is how floating platforms and aerial arenas get built without terrain tricks.

Jump Skill configuration

"Adds a 'Jump Skill' configuration field to 'Class Template,' allowing you to choose between the default jump and a custom skill," plus "custom configuration for the 'Jump Skill' slot under 'Air Skill.'" In practice the jump button stops being a jump button. Paimon's aside on the panel spells out the implication: "Pressing 'Jump' could mean aiming, attacking, or even… Hmm… counting on fingers."

Combat and complex-creation nodes

Three separate node upgrades on this panel.

Combat Nodes. The Event Node "adds a 'CRIT Hit or Not' output parameter, allowing you to determine whether a damage instance is a CRIT Hit." The Execution Node "adds an 'Ability Unit Parent Entity' input parameter, allowing you to specify which entity the triggered Ability Unit belongs to."

Complex Creation Nodes. The guide "adds 5 new aerial tactics execution nodes, along with query nodes for checking conditions such as 'Ray Detection' and 'Unit Status.'" The named nodes are Tactic: Aerial Confrontation, Tactic: Aerial Landing, Tactic: Aerial Escape and two Tactic: Aerial Idling entries, with query nodes Get Ray Filter Type List, Get Ray Detection Result and Get Entity Type List.

Wonderland Gift Box Nodes. An "Open Gift Box" node is added, "allowing the Gift Box interface to be opened dynamically," alongside an "Activate/Disable Model Display" node.

Aerial tactics nodes plus the Creation Levitation effect plus ray detection is, taken together, the toolkit for air combat stages. That is a deliberate bundle, not five unrelated fixes.

New assets

The largest single number in the whole guide sits here: "Adds 350+ new effects and decorative objects, giving Craftspeople a richer selection of assets and more possibilities for scene building." The examples given are "effect and glow assets (Kuuvahki, flashes, smoke and dust, etc.), metal structures and props (bases, ladders, door columns, mechanisms, etc.), and stone structures and props (steps, gates, beds, pillars, etc.)."

New image assets arrive across ten Image Library categories, and new Complex Creations are added: "Floating Hydro Fungus, Spirit of Omen: Glede, Snow-Winged Goose, Darkwing Goose, Flowcurrent Bird, Black Cat, Sheriff Cat, Northland Cat, etc."

Two footnotes are printed at the bottom of the guide, and honest coverage has to carry them: "For more Craftspeople-related feature optimizations and updates, please stay tuned for upcoming official announcements" and "Features shown in the demo are currently under development and are not indicative of the final product."

Which Miliastra deadlines expire before 7.1?

Four, across three timestamps, all inside the same 48 hours. These are taken from the live in-game announcement feed on 16 September 2026, in server time.

Bundle prices in the same notice are Chronal Nexus 1,440 for the featured Elite (4-Star) pair and 240 for the featured Exceptional (3-Star) pair, both discount-window only.

One reward there is worth flagging because it is the Primogem drip people argue about: "Play Popular Miliastra Wonderland stages with your new Sets or Try-On Capes equipped to obtain a Primogems ×60 reward." Sixty Primogems, tied to equipping the current cosmetics and playing stages that are actually popular. That is the real number, and it is the one circulating on Reddit as the whole of Miliastra's Primogem value.

Can you actually earn money from Miliastra Wonderland?

Yes, and HoYoverse documents the mechanism rather than hinting at it. The Version 7.0 Inspiration Incentive Program page, running 12 August 2026 11:00 to 22 September 2026 23:59 (UTC+8), states that "Wonderland stages that have been played by players will make you eligible for creator earnings," that rewards arrive as Creation Ticket No. 1, and that those tickets are redeemable "for cash in the Creator Center."

The entry bar published on that page is two lines long: reach Craftsperson Lv. 2, and enable the Earnings function. No follower threshold, no application queue.

What HoYoverse has not published is any rate: no per-play figure, no ticket-to-cash conversion, no cap. Treat "you can earn from Miliastra" as documented and "here is what it pays" as unknown. A Version 7.1 edition of the Incentive Program has not been announced yet, which is one more reason 23 September is the date to watch.

Do you need a PC to build in the Miliastra Sandbox?

Almost certainly. Every editor screenshot in the Craftsperson Guide is a desktop interface, HoYoverse's Version 7.0 editor patch notes refer to an "In-Game Editor" under a separate "Beyond Mode," and the community-maintained Genshin Impact Wiki states plainly that the Miliastra Sandbox "is only supported on PC."

HoYoverse has not published a platform statement alongside the 7.1 guide itself, so treat this as strongly indicated rather than officially confirmed. If you play on mobile or console and want to enter, check your client before 23 September rather than after. Playing Wonderlands built by other people is a different matter and is not restricted the same way — that part of Miliastra travels with the rest of the game, including onto the Switch 2 version.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Miliastra Wonderland in Genshin Impact? It is the game's user-generated content mode. Players called Craftspeople build stages, called Wonderlands, in the Miliastra Sandbox editor, and other players drop into them using a customisable avatar, the Manekin or Manekina. It runs alongside Teyvat rather than replacing it, and it has its own progression, cosmetics and shop.

When does the Miliastra Wonderland 7.1 update arrive? 23 September 2026, with the Version 7.1 update. That date is printed on HoYoverse's official Version 7.1 Event Calendar as "09/23 Version 7.1 Update," in UTC+8.

What is the biggest new feature in the 7.1 Miliastra editor? Shared Creation Mode. It splits a save's Entities, Player Templates, Classes and Entity Node Graphs across separate Shared Creation sections so multiple Craftspeople can edit the same Wonderland. Before 7.1, a Wonderland was a one-author project. The Miliastra Sandbox editor is documented as PC only, so check your client before planning a contest entry.

When does the Wonderlands Creator Contest start? 23 September 2026, according to HoYoverse's announcement of 15 September. The full contest rules, judging criteria and prize tiers have not been published yet. Prizes are stated to include Creation Ticket No. 1 and Primogems.

Is Creation Ticket No. 1 real money? It is redeemable for cash in the Creator Center, per HoYoverse's own Inspiration Incentive Program page. No conversion rate has been published.

How many Primogems can you get from Miliastra Wonderland right now? The live "Wonderland Treasures: Phantasmagoric Discourse" notice offers 60 Primogems for playing Popular Miliastra Wonderland stages with the new Sets or Try-On Capes equipped. That event ends 22 September 14:59.

What is Chronal Nexus? The Miliastra Shop currency. Current discount-window prices are 960 for a featured Elite (4-Star) cosmetic set, 160 for a featured Exceptional (3-Star) set, 1,440 for the Elite bundle and 240 for the Exceptional bundle. Those revert to 1,200 and 200 for the single sets when the discount ends on 21 September 03:59.

The short version

Version 7.1 turns Miliastra Wonderland from a solo building tool into a collaborative one, and opens the first contest for what gets built with it on the same day. Shared Creation Mode, client scripts driving "most types of 2D gameplay," aerial tactics nodes and 350 or more new props are a scope-of-ambition upgrade, not a polish pass. The contest rules are still unpublished, so the useful preparation window is now: clear the deadlines on 21 and 22 September, check that your client can run the Sandbox, and have an idea ready for 23 September.
