GTA Online Cayo Perico Loot Values (2026): Every Primary & Secondary Target Payout After the Nerf

If you want to know exactly what a Cayo Perico run is worth in 2026, the honest answer is: less than it used to be, and the numbers you'll find in most guides are from the wrong patch. Title Update 1.73 — the July 14, 2026 Kortz Center Heist update — cut both primary and secondary target values, and Rockstar confirmed it in the official notes. Every payout chart written before that date is now wrong.

This guide is the current Cayo Perico loot value reference: every primary target at Normal and Hard Mode, every secondary loot type with its per-stack value and how much of your bag it eats, the odds of scoping each target, what gets deducted from your take, and what a realistic solo run actually banks today.

Quick answer: what is Cayo Perico loot worth in 2026?

TL;DR — After Title Update 1.73, Cayo Perico primary targets pay GTA$400,000 (Sinsimito Tequila) up to GTA$910,000 (Pink Diamond) on Normal, and Hard Mode adds +10%. Secondary loot runs GTA$70,875 (cash) to GTA$300,000 (gold) per stack. Gold is the best loot per bag at roughly GTA$443K–450K, but its compound storage rooms need two players. A realistic solo run today lands around GTA$700K–800K on a repeat Tequila week and ~GTA$1.24M on a Hard Mode Pink Diamond — after the 10% fencing fee, Pavel's 2% cut and the GTA$100,000 setup. If you'd rather skip the cooldowns entirely, a GTA 5 money top-up puts the cash straight in your account.

Here's the roadmap:

  • Primary target values — all five targets, Normal and Hard Mode
  • Secondary loot values — per-stack ranges and bag weight
  • Best loot per bag — the number that actually decides your route
  • The deductions — fencing fee, Pavel's cut, setup cost
  • Target odds — why you keep scoping Tequila
  • Realistic payouts — full worked math for solo runs in 2026

What changed in Title Update 1.73?

Rockstar documented the nerf directly in the GTAV Title Update 1.73 notes:

"Primary and Secondary Target appearance rates for repeated completions of The Cayo Perico Heist have been updated to now refresh in the same weekly cadence as the above. The values of Primary and Secondary Targets in The Cayo Perico Heist have been reduced."

Rockstar Games, GTAV Title Update 1.73 notes (July 14, 2026)

Two separate changes are bundled in there, and they matter differently:

  • Values were reduced — a flat cut to what the loot is worth.
  • Appearance rates now refresh weekly — the good primary targets are gated behind the Thursday reset instead of rerolling freely on every scope-out.

The second one is the bigger deal for grinders. When we covered the Cayo Perico nerf on July 14, the value change was still community-reported; Rockstar has since confirmed it in writing.

What are the Cayo Perico primary target values in 2026?

The primary target is most of your gross take. Hard Mode adds a flat 10% to the primary target only — it does not boost secondaries.

Primary TargetValue (Normal)Value (Hard Mode)
Sinsimito TequilaGTA$400,000GTA$440,000

Pink DiamondGTA$910,000GTA$1,001,000
Panther Statue (event only)GTA$1,900,000GTA$2,090,000

Current post-Title-Update-1.73 values, per GTA BOOM's Cayo Perico payout list, which tracks in-game checks against Rockstar's confirmed reduction.

Two things people get wrong here:

  • The Panther Statue is not in the normal pool. Rockstar enables it only during selected events, and it cannot appear during a standard scope-out. Any guide that lists it as a "chance" target on a regular week is selling you a fantasy.
  • The Madrazo Files (GTA$1,100,000) are story-only. They're the fixed target on your very first playthrough and never return to the repeat pool.

To activate Hard Mode, you have to pay the setup fee within 48 real minutes of Pavel contacting you after the cooldown expires. Miss that window and you're running Normal.

What are the Cayo Perico secondary loot values?

Secondary loot spawns at fixed locations, but the type and amount reroll every run. One "stack" = one fully cleared table.

The GTA Online on-screen message reading 'Your duffel bag is now at maximum capacity and no additional secondary loot can be collected', with a Cayo Perico take of GTA$388,800

Each player carries exactly one loot bag. That single constraint is the whole game: you're not optimising for what's most valuable on the table, you're optimising for what's most valuable inside 100% of one bag.

Which secondary loot is worth the most per full bag?

This is the number that should actually drive your route, and almost nobody publishes it. Multiply the per-stack value by how many stacks fit in one bag:

Secondary LootValue Of A Full Bag (calculated)Solo-friendly?
Gold~GTA$443,000 – GTA$450,000❌ Compound gold needs 2 players
Cocaine~GTA$356,000 – GTA$364,000✅ Yes
Artwork~GTA$283,000 – GTA$324,000✅ Yes (El Rubio's office)
Weed~GTA$313,000 – GTA$324,000✅ Yes
Cash~GTA$283,000 – GTA$300,000✅ Yes

Calculated from the per-stack values and bag weights above; real runs land inside the range depending on partial stacks and pickup order.

The takeaway is blunt: gold is worth roughly 22–26% more per bag than cocaine, which is why every max-payout video chases it. But the compound's gold storage rooms use a dual-keycard lock that needs two players swiping simultaneously — so a solo player's true ceiling is cocaine, and the practical solo priority is:

  • Cocaine — best solo value per bag
  • Weed — close behind, and it awkwardly fills 2.7 stacks, so top off with something else
  • Artwork — often spawns in El Rubio's office, directly on your primary-target route (zero detour)
  • Cash — only if it's what's in front of you

Because weed fills 37.5% per stack, two weed stacks leave 25% of your bag empty — exactly one cash stack. Mixing is not a downgrade; leaving bag space empty is.

Don't forget El Rubio's safe

El Rubio's wall safe sits inside his office to the right of the desk, and it currently holds between GTA$18,000 and GTA$99,000. Critically, it does not consume any loot-bag space — it's free money on a route you're already walking. Skipping it is the single most common self-inflicted payout loss on the island.

What gets deducted from your Cayo Perico payout?

Your gross loot total is not what hits your bank. Per the GTA Wiki finale breakdown, after the first playthrough the payout is reduced by Pavel's 2% cut and the Madrazo Cartel's 10% fencing fee — about 12% off the top.

On top of that:

  • Setup fee: GTA$100,000, paid from the Kosatka before the prep missions. This is also the payment that arms Hard Mode.
  • Crew cuts, if you're not running solo — every additional player takes a share of your take.

So the mental model is: `(primary + secondaries + safe) − ~12% + Elite bonus − GTA$100,000 setup`.

What are the odds of scoping each primary target?

Title Update 1.73 tied target odds to the weekly reset, and the split is dramatic:

Primary TargetFirst scope-out after weekly resetAdditional scope-outs before next reset
Sinsimito Tequila0%80%
Ruby Necklace40%10%
Bearer Bonds40%8%
Pink Diamond20%2%

Current target probabilities post-TU 1.73.

Read that table again, because it is the most important strategic fact about Cayo Perico in 2026: your first scope-out of the week cannot roll Tequila, and has a 20% shot at the Pink Diamond. Every scope-out after that is 80% likely to be the worst target in the game.

That is Rockstar telling you, mechanically, to run Cayo once a week and spend the rest of your time elsewhere.

There is one small consolation. On repeat runs, a weaker primary target inflates your secondary loot:

Scoped PrimarySecondary Loot Increase
Sinsimito Tequila+20%
Ruby Necklace+10%
Bearer Bonds+5%
Pink Diamond0%

How much can you realistically make per run in 2026?

Let's run the actual math on the two runs you'll genuinely see.

Run A — first scope-out of the week, Hard Mode Pink Diamond, solo, cocaine secondary:

  • Pink Diamond (Hard Mode): GTA$1,001,000
  • 2× cocaine stacks (full bag): ~GTA$360,000
  • El Rubio's safe (mid-range): ~GTA$50,000
  • Gross: ~GTA$1,411,000
  • Less ~12% (fencing + Pavel): ~GTA$1,241,700
  • Plus Elite Challenge on Hard Mode: +GTA$100,000
  • Less setup fee: −GTA$100,000
  • Net: ≈ GTA$1,241,700

Run B — repeat run later the same week, Normal, solo, Tequila with the +20% secondary bonus:

  • Sinsimito Tequila (Normal): GTA$400,000
  • 2× cocaine stacks +20%: ~GTA$432,000
  • El Rubio's safe: ~GTA$50,000
  • Gross: ~GTA$882,000
  • Less ~12%: ~GTA$776,200
  • Plus Elite Challenge on Normal: +GTA$50,000
  • Less setup fee: −GTA$100,000
  • Net: ≈ GTA$726,200

That second figure lines up almost exactly with what players are reporting on r/gtaonline right now — one player running the numbers this week described Cayo as paying roughly GTA$700K–800K for about an hour of work with a GTA$100K buy-in, and said they'd rather join a Kortz Center lobby for GTA$400K–500K in 20 minutes. Another put the average at around GTA$800K solo, spiking past a million on a lucky primary.

The Elite Challenge, by the way, is worth chasing: GTA$50,000 on Normal, GTA$100,000 on Hard Mode, and it's repeatable on every finale. The requirements are finishing the finale in under 15 minutes, filling every player's loot bag, and not failing a fingerprint hack.

Is Cayo Perico still worth it in 2026?

Yes — once per weekly reset, on Hard Mode, as one line item in a wider routine. No — as a repeat grind.

The cooldowns settle it. After a solo finale you wait three in-game days (144 real minutes); after a crew finale it's one in-game day (48 real minutes). Combine 144 minutes of downtime with an 80% chance of drawing Tequila, and the money-per-hour of farming the island collapses.

The 2026 play is a rotation:

  • First scope-out after Thursday reset — Hard Mode, take the Pink Diamond or Bearer Bonds roll, cocaine bag, safe, Elite Challenge.
  • Clear the weekly boosted first-completions — TU 1.73 gave a batch of classic heists and missions "a much higher payout for their first completion each week," resetting every Thursday. That list covers the five Original Heists, all three Doomsday Acts, the Diamond Casino Heist Finale, the Cluckin' Bell Farm Raid, the Data Leaks, Oscar Guzman Flies Again and KnoWay Out. For the week of July 30–August 6, 2026, that includes doubled GTA$ on your first weekly Fleeca Job and Pacific Standard Job.
  • Add the Kortz Center Heist — see our Kortz Center vs Cayo Perico payout comparison for which one deserves your next hour.
  • Keep passive income running — the best businesses in GTA Online earn while you heist.

If you want the step-by-step island route rather than the payout tables, our Cayo Perico solo money guide covers the approach, and how to make money fast in GTA Online ranks every method against each other.

And if the honest answer is that you want the Kosatka, the Mansion, the Art Studio and the cars without spending eight weekly resets earning them:

FAQ

What is the highest-value Cayo Perico loot in 2026? The Panther Statue at GTA$1,900,000 (GTA$2,090,000 on Hard Mode), but it only appears during selected Rockstar events. Of the permanently available targets, the Pink Diamond is the best at GTA$910,000 Normal / GTA$1,001,000 Hard Mode.

What is the best secondary loot on Cayo Perico? Gold, at roughly GTA$443,000–450,000 for a full loot bag. However, the compound's gold rooms use a dual-keycard lock that requires two players, so solo runners should prioritise cocaine (~GTA$356,000–364,000 per bag).

Did Cayo Perico loot values get nerfed? Yes. Rockstar's GTAV Title Update 1.73 notes (July 14, 2026) state that the values of both Primary and Secondary Targets in The Cayo Perico Heist have been reduced, and that repeat-run appearance rates now refresh on the weekly cadence.

How much does Cayo Perico pay solo in 2026? Roughly GTA$700,000–800,000 net on a repeat Tequila run, and around GTA$1.24 million net on a Hard Mode Pink Diamond run with a full cocaine bag — after the 10% fencing fee, Pavel's 2% cut and the GTA$100,000 setup.

Why do I keep getting the Sinsimito Tequila? Because of the weekly odds. Your first scope-out after the Thursday reset has a 0% chance of Tequila (40% Ruby Necklace, 40% Bearer Bonds, 20% Pink Diamond), but every additional scope-out that week is 80% Tequila.

How long is the Cayo Perico cooldown? Three in-game days — 144 real minutes — after a solo finale, and one in-game day (48 real minutes) after a finale completed with a crew. You then have 48 real minutes from Pavel's message to pay the setup fee and activate Hard Mode.
