Step 2 — Farm Vitus Essence in Arbitrations. Vitus Essence is the special currency that drops as a rotation reward inside Arbitration missions. You need 75 total — enough for all three Locators at 25 Essence each. Arbitrations rotate through a set of Star Chart nodes that refresh roughly every hour, so pick a mission type you can run efficiently (endless modes like Survival, Defense, and Interception let you stack rotations for more Essence per run).

How much Vitus Essence do you actually need?
For Grendel specifically, the math is simple: 75 Vitus Essence (three Locators × 25 each). But Vitus Essence is a deep vendor currency used across the whole Arbitration Honors store — Galvanized mods, Arcanes, and cosmetic Ephemeras all cost Essence too, so most players over-farm it on purpose.
Your Essence-per-hour depends entirely on the mission and how long you stay:
- Endless nodes (Survival, Defense, Interception, Disruption) pay Essence on rotation, so the longer you stay, the more you bank per run.

Getting Grendel without the grind
If the un-modded Europa missions and the Arbitration Essence farm sound like more than you want to commit, you have two fully legitimate shortcuts:
- Buy the finished frame for 325 Platinum on the Market. This is the cleanest skip — no Locators, no Essence, no Europa. You still need the Warframe slot to hold him.
- Earn Platinum by trading in-game. The safest, EULA-compliant way to fund a Market purchase is to farm Prime parts and Ducats, trade duplicates to other players for Platinum through the in-game Trading Post, and spend that on Grendel.
A word of caution here, because Warframe is stricter than most games about this: buy Platinum only from Digital Extremes or their authorized retailers.
