Jujutsu Shenanigans Hired Killer Guide: Toji Moveset, Weapons & How to Get It

Hired Killer is the Toji Fushiguro character that landed in Jujutsu Shenanigans with the V1.84 Halloween Update on October 23, 2026. He is the game's 16th Early Access character and 25th character overall, and he plays unlike anything else on the roster: no cursed energy, three swappable cursed tools, and a passive that lets him walk straight through domain expansions.

This guide covers how to get Hired Killer, every move and variant across all three weapons, how the Restricted passive really works against domains, and what the first wave of players thinks of him. Every number below comes from the Jujutsu Shenanigans Wiki character page and our own Roblox API pulls, checked on October 24, 2026 against the V1.84 build.

How do you get Hired Killer in Jujutsu Shenanigans?

You unlock Hired Killer by buying the Early Access gamepass. When we checked the Roblox game-pass API listing for Jujutsu Shenanigans on October 24, 2026, it read:

• Pass name: Early Access
• Price: 345 Robux
• Description: "Get early access to unreleased abilities"

Early Access is how the developer, Tze, ships unfinished characters before they go free. Sky Assassin followed the same route: Early Access in V1.82, then a public release in V1.83. If you would rather not spend Robux, the realistic path is to wait for Hired Killer to come out of Early Access. No release date for that has been announced, so treat any "free Toji date" you see on TikTok as a guess.

A couple of things to know before you buy:

• It is one game pass, not a Toji-only purchase. The game sells a single Early Access pass for "unreleased abilities", the same system that gated Sky Assassin and Register before their public releases.
• You are buying an unfinished character. The wiki marks Hired Killer as Early Access, and his awakening is explicitly incomplete (more below).
• The meta doesn't depend on it. As our Jujutsu Shenanigans tier list covers, every S-tier Style is free. Early Access gets you a new toy early, not a stronger account.

What does Hired Killer's Restricted passive actually do?

Restricted is the Heavenly Restriction in game form, and it is the single most important thing to understand about this character. Per the wiki, it changes how domains treat you in three ways:

• You can walk through any domain border in either direction, whenever you like.
• Domain sure-hits can't target you, with one exception: Malevolent Shrine and Incomplete Shrine hit everything inside their range. Even then, your body cuts the slash damage from those two by 70%.
• The drawback: domain casters deal much more damage to you. Defense Attorney and Restless Gambler are the exceptions.

In practice this makes Hired Killer a domain escape tool rather than a domain counter. When an Honored One opens a domain, you don't have to sit inside it and eat the sure-hit. You can step out, reset, and come back in on your terms. What you should not do is stand toe-to-toe with the caster inside their domain, because the damage penalty punishes exactly that.

Players spotted this within hours of release. One new thread on r/JujutsuShenanigans was titled "Found out toji can freely enter domains and isn't affected by information void."

What is the Hidden Inventory special?

Hidden Inventory (5-second cooldown) is the engine of the whole kit. Each press stores your current cursed tool and pulls out the next one in a fixed loop:

Split Soul Katana → Inverted Spear of Heaven → Chain of a Thousand Miles → Split Soul Katana

Swapping changes your moves, M1s and front dash. Three details matter for combos:

• Cycling backwards: hold block while pressing the special to go back to the previous weapon.
• Instant swaps: the swap windup becomes instant for a short window after a successful Debilitate, Transcend, Rupture (QTE loss included) or Lasso, and after Ascend, Reincarnation or Whiplash. That window is where your weapon-switch combos live.
• Interrupted swaps are free: if someone hits you mid-swap, the special stays off cooldown.

What is Hired Killer's full moveset?

Each weapon gives you two moves. All numbers are from the wiki's V1.84 ability tables.

Split Soul Katana — the opener

The katana's M1 string is 3 hits instead of 4, with the same total damage as a normal chain. Its front dash spins the blade upward twice (1.5 damage per hit) and launches nearby enemies.

Flourish is the interesting one. If the slash lands, time briefly slows, and what you press next decides the follow-up:

• The Wrath (press Flourish again): three rushing slashes for 7 damage. If the first misses, the rest won't come out.
• The Greed (press special): swaps to the Inverted Spear of Heaven, kicks the target up and grounds them with slashes for 11 damage. You keep the spear afterwards.
• The Pride (press block): swaps to the Chain, grabs, lifts and slams for 9 damage. You keep the chain afterwards.

Debilitate (13 damage) is faster if you use it straight after a side dash. On a ragdolled enemy it only knocks them to the left and won't extend into the slash combo.

Inverted Spear of Heaven — the punisher

The spear's M1 string totals 14 damage (3 + 3 + 4 + 4), but its first M1 reaches 7 studs instead of 8 and your block covers a smaller angle. You give up some defence for strong single-target moves.

• Transcend (12 damage): crouch, then press again to strike. Press nothing and you just stand back up, which makes it a mind game. In the air it fires instantly.
• Ascend (special during the crouch): dash without striking and skip the endlag. It also opens the instant-swap window.
• Rupture (14 on a QTE win): lunge, lift with an unblockable swing, then time a second press for the stab. Miss the timing and the opponent blocks and pushes you away (11.5 damage).
• Paradise (special during windup): drops the horizontal swing.
• Reincarnation (hold special during windup): throws the spear up so it spins down to you over 2 seconds. In that window you can move, swap tools and even use another weapon's skill before you catch the spear again.

Chain of a Thousand Miles — the zoner

The chain's M1s are slightly slower but reach 9 studs instead of 8 (downslams excluded). The final M1 spins the chain all the way around you, hitting behind you too, though it is still blockable from the front. Front or back dashing hurls the chain 15 studs to crush anyone standing where it lands.

• Lasso (12 damage: 4 pull + 8 kick): latch on from 24 studs, yank the target in and kick them away. It can also snatch throwables and fling them back.
• Whiplash (5 damage) slams the chain down to bounce enemies at range, and Twirling Strike (8 damage) lets you follow up with a spinning rush. The wiki lists the move's 15-second cooldown as starting after Twirling Strike.

What does the Puppet of Carnage awakening do?

Not much yet. The wiki's entry is blunt: "As the character is incomplete, awakening will only heal the user." Puppet of Carnage gives you 50 HP of healing and nothing else. There are no awakened moves, no new special and no finisher.

That is the main reason to hold your Robux if you are buying for competitive value. Every finished character's awakening is a power spike, and Hired Killer's is currently a heal. Expect this to change as he moves through Early Access, which is how Sky Assassin went from a partial kit in V1.82 to a full one in V1.83 (our Sky Assassin update breakdown covers that path).

What are the best Hired Killer combos right now?

The kit is only a day old, so nobody has a "solved" combo list yet. These routes come straight from how the wiki describes the swap and variant rules. Lab them in a private server before trusting them in a lobby:

• Katana opener into spear: land Flourish → The Greed (special). You end holding the spear, so follow with Transcend or Rupture while they are still recovering.
• Katana into chain for range: land Flourish → The Pride (block). You end holding the chain, so use Lasso to drag back anyone who tries to escape.
• Debilitate swap: a landed Debilitate gives you an instant Hidden Inventory swap, so you can go straight into the spear's Transcend without the swap windup.
• Spear juggle: Reincarnation throws the spear, you swap to the chain, use Whiplash while the spear spins down, then catch it and keep pressure on.
• Domain escape: when an enemy domain opens, walk out with Restricted, wait out their awakening and step back in. Don't trade inside the domain, because the caster damage penalty is real.

Is Hired Killer good? What players are saying

Opinion on day one is split, which is normal for an Early Access release. Most of the quotes below come from the r/JujutsuShenanigans thread "Is it just me or is toji kind of ass?" (we don't name individual players). The positive takes focus on how creative the weapon swapping is. One player wrote that Toji "feels pretty fun once you understand how the variants work. The weapon swapping into another move is cool." Another thread title simply read "I'm genuinely baffled how interesting they made toji."

The complaints are about approach and damage. Players called the katana's lack of a proper front dash a weakness and argued the chain's back dash "makes using the weapon feel more like a punishment". The Lasso divides people too:

Our read is that Hired Killer is a high-ceiling, unfinished character. Six moves across three weapons with instant-swap windows give skilled players a lot of options, but the heal-only awakening and the domain-caster damage penalty hold him back against finished S-tier Styles. Treat him as provisional and unranked, the same way we handled Sky Assassin, until the next balance pass.

What else came with the V1.84 Halloween Update?

Hired Killer wasn't the only addition. The V1.84 preview on the wiki's front page, posted before launch, listed a Halloween 2026 event with a new map alongside the new Early Access character. The official trailer, "The Halloween Update (Trailer)", went up on Tze's YouTube channel on October 21, 2026. The images in this guide are frames from it.

Final verdict

Hired Killer is the most mechanically unusual character Jujutsu Shenanigans has shipped. Three weapons, six moves, seven variants and a passive that rewrites how domains work make for a lot of depth. Right now, though, you are paying 345 Robux for an Early Access kit with a heal-only awakening. Buy the pass if you want to learn Toji before everyone else does. If you only care about winning, stick with the free S-tier Styles and wait for his full release.
