MK Mobile Dragon Krystals pay for character and tower gear summons, and they're slow to earn on a new account. This guide covers the main sources we could confirm, what a day of play really pays, the odds on the packs in the Store right now, and what to buy at each stage. Quick answer (checked October 31, 2026, Hotfix 7.4.1): A new player's fastest Dragon Krystals are one-time: 150 for linking a WB Games account, then 150 more for linking Mortal Kombat 1 if you own it. Once the Krypt opens at level 25, the daily floor is about 6 a day from sharing a Krypt result and finishing Daily Trials. Veterans earn far more because maxed duplicates sell back for Krystals, up to 60 a day on the in-game counter. Spend the first 500 on the 50 Beginner's Summon Packs at 10 each. After that, buy characters until you have a couple of solid teams, then move to Tower Equipment Summons at 15 each. Don't chase one featured Diamond: at a 1.25% rate, MK1 Noob Saibot averages 1,200 Krystals. WB's Halloween Dragon Krystal Sale (30% bonus on select packs) runs through November 2.

What are Dragon Krystals in MK Mobile?
Dragon Krystals are a premium currency that arrived in Update 5.3. WB described them as a resource "used to acquire elusive and valuable Characters and Equipment" and said they're earned "in a variety of ways, including card sellbacks, Kombat Passes, Towers, and more."
They differ from Souls in one key way. Souls are spent on many things, including tower attempts and Krypt Keys. Krystals are spent in the Store's Dragon Krystals section, which has Kard Packs, Kaskets, Upgrades and Limited Bundles tabs. Summons and Kaskets take most of them, though players also bought Diamond Fusion Ups there at a reported 200 Krystals each in 2024. Players often shorten the name to DK, and searches for "dragon crystals" mean the same thing.

How do you get Dragon Krystals?

The MK1 link needs an eligible copy on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X or S, or PC. If linking fails, WB says to sign in to Mortal Kombat 1 with your WB Games Account, open MK Mobile on that same account and redo Console Link. If the reward still doesn't arrive, contact WB support.

Pass rewards change each season, so open the track and check before you plan around them.
Be careful with Free Rewards. Update 7.2 added a set of offers that pay Krystals, and some of them ask you to reach a milestone in another game. One player posted on October 31 that they hadn't been paid for early levels of a game offering "4K Dragon Krystals" (thread), and the reply was to wait 24 hours. WB's free Souls FAQ gives a window of 15 minutes to 48 hours for its offers, which is a fair guide. Read the terms first, because some offers need a purchase.
How many Dragon Krystals can you earn per day?
The range runs from about 6 a day, once the Krypt opens at level 25, to well over 90, depending on how much of your Kollection is maxed.
The best public breakdown comes from u/Radamantis11, a free-to-play veteran who logged 6,382 Krystals over Update 6's 68 days. That's about 94 a day:

Two caveats apply. They said the badge payout was being nerfed, so that line won't repeat in full. And the sellback cap was 45 a day then, per the Update 6.0 notes. A Store screenshot from October 27 now shows a 0/60 daily counter, though WB's patch notes haven't printed that number.
Nearly half of that total is sellbacks, which a new account barely gets. Your duplicates are still fusing cards. So a new player should expect the low end at first, plus tower and Krypt income as the roster grows.
Watch for doubled caps. WB has run events where, in its own words, "The daily sellback limit is 120 for a limited time only". The 7.4 schedule listed Double Daily Dragon Krystals for 10.14 to 10.19, so that window has passed. Once your daily counter is full, hold off on opening duplicate-heavy packs until it resets.
What should you spend Dragon Krystals on first?
Spend in this order, and stop when the next step doesn't fix a real problem on your account.
- First, Beginner's Summon Packs. These cost 10 instead of 15 and are limited to 50. The MK Mobile Base listing adds up to about a 22.75% Diamond rate, so 500 Krystals should average around 11 Diamonds.
- Next, Character Summons, until you have solid teams. "Characters until you max a few golds or diamonds," u/Ok_Image_6871 told a beginner on October 30, adding: "Dragon krystals are hard to get for beginners."
- Then Tower Equipment Summons. Gear works across fighters, while a Diamond only helps the teams that use it. Check the card first, though: many tower pieces only get their big boosts in their own tower, so buy them for a tower you're climbing now. "Easily gears as long as you have opened all beginner summons," wrote u/Left_Research_4973 in the same thread. That thread split between gear and characters, and both answers can be right depending on your roster.
- Kameos, last. "Don't buy kameos. They are practically only for veterans who have everything else maxed," u/barca1702 wrote in 2024, and the advice still holds for a new account.
Check your Summon Pack Trial before a big session. These milestones arrived in Update 6.0 and pay out on pack purchases, "such as Gold and Diamond characters". A player in 2024 reported a random Diamond at 40 Beginner openings and MK11 Scorpion at 50. Open your Trials menu to see your current steps, because those may differ now.

What are the odds on Dragon Krystal packs right now?
These packs were on the MK Mobile Base tracker on October 31. The rates are added up from its pack pages, the end dates are the tracker's, and the "average cost" column is our math. Always open "You might get" in the Store before buying, since that's the live version.

Three things stand out:
- Averages hide bad runs. At 1.25%, 100 MK1 Noob packs (1,500 Krystals) still have about a 28% chance of no Noob at all. Set a stopping point before you start.
- A Diamond isn't the same as your Diamond. The MK1 Noob pack's 18.25% is mostly other fighters. Check them against our MK Mobile tier list. Noob also has other routes, including the Tower of Khaos and the Premium Pass.
- One exact Epic costs far more than any Epic. A specific Tower of Horror Epic is 1.25%, or about 1,200 Krystals on average. Buy gear packs when several pieces would help. Our Halloween towers guide covers what each piece does.
The permanent Kaskets cost 250 to 400 Krystals (Event Rare Equipment 250, Kollector's Gold 300, Event Epic Equipment 350, Kollector's Diamond 400). A 2024 r/mkxmobile post called them "way overpriced" next to 15-Krystal packs, and 400 Krystals does buy about 26 summons. A reply in that thread pushed back that a Kasket gives you a copy you don't own, and WB's Update 6.2 notes say Fusion X and Max Ascended cards are no longer included. That makes a Kasket a late-game way to fill a gap, not a beginner buy.
Don't mix up the Halloween Kard Packs, either. The Freddy, Jason and Leatherface packs that landed on October 30 cost 400 Souls, not Krystals:
Is the Halloween Dragon Krystal sale worth it?
Only if you already planned to buy Krystals. WB's Update 7.4 schedule lists a 30% bonus on select packs from 10.30 to 11.02.
WB hasn't published which packs qualify, what they cost or whether they're paid offers, so compare them in your Store. Spend it on a plan. If your target is one 1.25% Diamond, extra Krystals only buy more attempts. If you're short of the last Beginner's Summons, or a Trial milestone is close, the sale is much easier to justify.
If those packs cost real money in your Store, free players lose nothing by skipping them. Keep saving for a tower or fighter your account needs. Some players hoard Krystals for that reason: one reported 11k banked in October 2026.
What are the most common Dragon Krystal mistakes?
- Skipping the WB Games account link. It's the easiest 150 in the game, and it protects your progress.
- Forgetting the Krypt share. At 5 a day, that's about 150 a month for a few taps.
- Spending Krystals to farm Krystals. A sellback only returns part of what the pack cost, so it isn't profit.
- Opening packs at a full sellback cap. Duplicates pay no extra Krystals until the counter resets.
- Copying a veteran's pull plan. On a new account, duplicates fuse cards. On a maxed one, they sell back. The same pack has a different value.
- Falling for generators. Anything promising free Krystals for your login is a scam, and it can cost you the account.
