Once Human RaidZone Explained (2026): Isles of Abyss RaidZone, Modes & How to Join on PS5/Xbox

Quick answer: Once Human RaidZone is the game's hardcore PvP survival mode. Everyone starts at Level 50 with no blueprints, no Mods and no supplies, servers reset on fixed cycles (7, 14 or 28 days depending on mode, with some regional servers opening monthly), and on Standard and Hardcore servers anything outside your Safe Backpack and Territory Vault can be looted when you die or your base is breached (Casual only drops weapons and gear). It's part of the normal Once Human client on PC, PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X/S, and you get in by flipping the RaidZone toggle in the upper-left corner of the character sign-in screen. With the October 21, 2026 (PT) update, there's also a new map, Isles of Abyss: RaidZone: naval PvP where ships have a shared HP pool and sink at zero. It's scheduled to open straight after the update and reopen biweekly, and NA/EU get a dedicated 【Console】 server for PS5 and Xbox players.

Most RaidZone guides on page one were written for the 2025 Early Access version, which had Highpop/Lowpop servers, one ruleset and no ships. Since then the mode has been split into Casual, Standard and Hardcore, picked up a Safe Backpack and Territory Vault, and now gets an ocean map. Everything below is checked against the studio's own posts on oncehuman.game as of October 21, 2026, the day Isles of Abyss goes live.

What is Once Human RaidZone?

RaidZone is a full-loot PvP survival mode that runs on the same account and the same client as regular Once Human. It entered Early Access on May 21, 2025 (PT) and launched globally on July 29, 2025 (PT). The studio describes it as a fresh-start, anyone-can-shoot-anyone mode:

"Absolute Fairness: In RaidZone, servers will undergo periodic resets. All players start each match on equal footing, and must explore, build, and survive against environmental threats and rival players alike." (Once Human, RaidZone Official Launch Preview)

Here's how it differs from the PvE scenarios most console players start in (Manibus, The Way of Winter, Isles of Abyss):

Regular scenarios (e.g. Manibus)RaidZone

The Level 50 start is also why some new console players find a mystery "Level 50" character on their account. If you picked RaidZone at character creation, that's working as designed, not a bug. We covered it in our Once Human "Level 50 save" and missing-character fix.

Is RaidZone a separate game?

Not on PC or console. The official RaidZone page says to "download the Once Human client and select 'Once Human: RaidZone' after logging in." Your account and its character limit are shared between the two modes, so a RaidZone character takes up one of your character slots. On iOS and Android, RaidZone also has its own store listing, "Once Human: RaidZone", from NetEase.

What does and doesn't cross between modes, per the studio's launch preview:

  • Cosmetics work everywhere. Outfits, vehicle skins and furniture skins can be used in all modes, and Shop purchases are shared across modes.
  • Blueprints and Mods stay on your account but "cannot be used in RaidZone." You don't lose them. They just don't load in.
  • RaidZone loot stays in RaidZone. "All blueprints, weapon accessories, and the vast majority of Deviations obtained in RaidZone are exclusive to this mode and cannot be transferred out."
  • Battle Pass: non-cosmetic rewards can be claimed once per mode. Cosmetics and Silver Keys can only be claimed once per account.
  • Leaving a RaidZone server doesn't cost a Scenario Exit Card, and you can pre-register for a regular server from RaidZone (or the other way round).

Casual vs Standard vs Hardcore: which RaidZone mode should you pick?

This is the biggest change older guides miss. With Version 2.3.7 (April 22, 2026), RaidZone was split into three rulesets with their own server names. The studio's reasoning: casual players found full-loot deaths and round-the-clock raids too punishing, while hardcore players wanted more intense raid windows. The official rules:

ModeServer nameCycleWhat drops on deathRaid windowTerritory rules
CasualCasual-A00114 or 28 daysOnly weapons and gear (and RaidZone Chips)4 hoursTerritory protection in effect
StandardVanilla-A0017 daysEverything8 hoursRequires maintenance materials
HardcoreHardcore-A0017 daysEverything24 hoursRequires maintenance materials

Sources: RaidZone: Separate Modes dev blog (Apr 16, 2026) and the V2.3.7 server opening plan.

Our pick: if you're new, or coming from Manibus on console, start on Casual. Dying only costs you your weapons and gear, raids are limited to a 4-hour window, and submitting materials at your Territory Terminal keeps your territory protected at all times. You'll learn the crafting tree and base defence without losing a whole night's farming to one ambush. Move to Standard once you can build a base that survives an 8-hour window. Hardcore is for organised groups. A 24-hour raid window means your base is a target around the clock.

A regional note: in NA, EU, South America, Southeast Asia and HK/MO/TW, the Casual server restarts on a 14-day cycle. In Japan and Korea, Casual and Hardcore open at 7:00 PM on the 1st of each month and don't restart straight away. Hardcore follows the same monthly schedule in South America, SEA and HK/MO/TW. Check the server name before you invest a week in a base.

What is Isles of Abyss: RaidZone?

Isles of Abyss: RaidZone is the PvP version of the new ocean scenario, and it launches alongside it. The PvE Isles of Abyss scenario splits each server into 12 worlds. The RaidZone version doesn't:

"There are no separate worlds in the RaidZone; all players will compete in the same waters. Resources are scarcer, encounters are more frequent, and combat pacing will be more intense." (Once Human, Isles of Abyss Dev Blog, Oct 16, 2026)

The official dev blog lists three pillars:

  • Naval Core Contest. Everyone fights over the same enclosed archipelago. Route choice and when to contest resources decide who survives.
  • Island Survival. The map keeps the Isles of Abyss terrain and island ecosystems. You need to explore fast, collect resources and arm up before anyone else gets established.
  • Water Territory Construction. Ships are the centre of combat, so the rules below matter more than anything else on this map.

How ship HP and sinking work in RaidZone

This is the part that will cost new players the most:

  • Your ship has a total HP pool. Expanding and upgrading the ship, then saving its blueprint at the anchor, raises that total HP.
  • Attacking another player's ship lowers its total HP. At 0 HP the ship sinks.
  • After a sinking, you can re-place a saved ship blueprint to summon it again. No saved blueprint means the ship comes back in its initial state, so every upgrade is gone.
  • "Supplies aboard a sunken ship will not be refunded." Don't sail into a fight with your whole stockpile on deck.

The practical rule: save your ship blueprint at the anchor after every meaningful upgrade, and keep your valuables in your land territory or Vault, not on the ship. For how hulls, sails and cannons work in general, see our Isles of Abyss shipbuilding guide. The same building system applies here, but in RaidZone other players can shoot your ship's HP down to zero.

The studio hasn't published which ruleset (Casual, Standard or Hardcore) Isles of Abyss: RaidZone uses, or its raid window. Check the server's rules screen in-game before committing. We'll update this page once the rules are confirmed live.

When does Isles of Abyss: RaidZone open, and is there a console server?

It's scheduled to open "immediately after version update", meaning the October 21, 2026 maintenance that starts at 4:00 PM PT (23:00 UTC, or 01:00 CEST on October 22). For downtime length and how to tell maintenance from an outage, see our Once Human server maintenance and status page.

The important line for PS5 and Xbox players: "Servers with the [Console] prefix are console-exclusive servers, available only to players using console devices." That gives console players a choice:

  • 【Console】server: only players on console devices can join, so you won't meet PC or mobile players. This is the one we'd pick on PS5 or Xbox.
  • Untagged server: the cross-platform pool, where PC and mobile players are. Use it if your squad includes PC friends. Our crossplay and cross-progression guide explains how the tagged and untagged pools work.

There's no 【Console】 Isles RaidZone server outside NA and EU in the first batch. The studio says more servers will open "as necessary based on server performance."

How to join RaidZone on PS5, Xbox and PC

  • Wait for maintenance to end on October 21 (PT). There's no pre-registration for the Isles map. The servers appear once the update is live.
  • Log in and go to the character sign-in screen.
  • Switch to RaidZone mode with the toggle in the upper-left corner. The official post says Isles of Abyss: RaidZone "requires switching to [RaidZone] mode in the upper-left corner of the character sign in page, and selecting the corresponding server to enter."
  • Pick your server: the Isles of Abyss: RaidZone map, or Casual / Standard (Vanilla) / Hardcore on the regular RaidZone map. On console, pick the 【Console】-prefixed server if you want console-only lobbies.
  • Create a RaidZone character, or move one in. You'll start at Level 50 with nothing. Characters can transfer between RaidZone and regular servers through pre-registration, but your regular-mode gear stays behind.

On the PvE Isles of Abyss servers, a full server can be entered with a Special Invitation Code that a friend inside shares from their player info screen. The studio hasn't said whether the same applies to RaidZone servers. The how-to-join steps for the PvE side are in our Isles of Abyss on PS5 and Xbox guide.

How do you keep your loot in RaidZone?

In Standard and Hardcore, everything you carry drops on death except protected slots, so two systems from the January 21, 2026 RaidZone update (Version 2.3.1, official dev blog) matter most:

  • Safe Backpack: items in Safe Backpack slots "will not drop when your character is knocked down." You get 2 slots by default, and quests from merchants in Neutral Settlements unlock up to 2 more. Explosives and their crafting materials can't go in.
  • Territory Vault: a Vault inside your Territory Terminal. Items in it survive even if the Terminal is destroyed and reappear when you build the next one. It has separate General, Weapons and Armor tabs and can be upgraded twice through merchant quests. Explosives are excluded here too.

Other 2026 additions worth knowing:

  • Up to three territories. The studio's own advice is "a clever rabbit always has three nests." Spread your stockpile out.
  • Sleeping Bag respawn points in the wild, each with its own cooldown (shorter inside Territories).
  • Straight Ladders can be built on other players' territory structures without permission. Expect attacks from the roof.
  • Morphic Echoite: a Morphic that disguises itself as an Echoite supply crate and attacks when you get close. The studio calls rockets "highly effective" against it.
  • Advanced Stronghold: an underground stronghold (pictured above) with better rewards and tougher guards.
  • Knockdown Replay with a built-in Report button.

Is RaidZone worth playing on console?

If you like Rust-style full-loot survival, yes, and Isles of Abyss: RaidZone is the best entry point since the mode launched. Everyone on the map starts from zero on the same day, ships are new to everyone, and NA/EU console players get their own server. The fixed reset cycle also means a bad week ends with a clean reset, not a permanent deficit.

If you mainly enjoy Once Human for builds, Mods and Deviation collecting, RaidZone isn't that game. None of your blueprints or Mods load in, and almost nothing you earn there comes back out. Play the PvE side of Isles of Abyss instead. It's officially a PvE scenario (see is Isles of Abyss PvP or PvE), and it gets a permanent server, expected November 18, 2026 (PT) per the October 20 schedule post. RaidZone never gets one: "Permanent servers are not available in RaidZone."

One more thing: RaidZone is where the studio is strictest on cheating. It says it applies "NetEase Games' strictest anti-cheat standards," including account, device and IP bans. Don't touch third-party tools on a RaidZone character.

FAQ

Is Once Human RaidZone on PS5 and Xbox? Yes. RaidZone is a mode inside the normal Once Human client, and the October 20, 2026 schedule includes a console-exclusive 【Console】RaidZone_Isles_Abyss-A0001 server for North America and Europe, alongside the cross-platform server.

How do I switch to RaidZone in Once Human? On the character sign-in screen, use the RaidZone toggle in the upper-left corner, then pick a RaidZone server. On mobile, RaidZone is also available as its own app, "Once Human: RaidZone."

Do my blueprints and Mods work in RaidZone? No. Everyone starts at Level 50 with no blueprints, Mods or supplies, and Eternaland and the Eternaland Backpack are locked while you're in a match. Your blueprints and Mods stay on your account for the regular modes. Cosmetics do work in RaidZone.

How often does RaidZone reset? Standard (Vanilla) and Hardcore servers run 7-day cycles, Casual runs 14 or 28 days, and Isles of Abyss: RaidZone reopens biweekly. Some regional servers (Casual and Hardcore in Japan and Korea, Hardcore in South America, SEA and HK/MO/TW) open on the 1st of each month instead.

What happens to my ship if it sinks in Isles of Abyss: RaidZone? You can summon it again from a ship blueprint you saved at the anchor. Without a saved blueprint it returns in its initial state, and supplies that were aboard are not refunded.

Can I bring RaidZone loot back to Manibus or Isles of Abyss PvE? Almost none of it. The studio says blueprints, weapon accessories and "the vast majority of Deviations" from RaidZone are mode-exclusive and can't be transferred out. Cosmetics and Shop purchases are shared across modes.
