Palworld Sekhmet Location (1.0): Breeding Combos & Alpha Sekhmet

Quick answer: Sekhmet (Paldeck #140, Ground) spawns in the Dessicated Desert in the north-east of the Palpagos Islands at level 37 to 42. Fast travel to the Searing Dunes Watchtower and sweep the dunes. For a much faster catch later, the Sandstone Gate Islet just west of Feybreak spawns her at level 65 to 68, where she makes up roughly 30% of the spawn table against about 3% in the desert. There is no Alpha Sekhmet out in the world: an Alpha ("Cutthroat Sun Snuffer") has to come from an egg, and the fastest way is a Broncherry + Broncherry Aqua party when you pick the egg up.

Sekhmet is the most-wanted Pal in Palworld right now. On October 20, 2026 Pocketpair posted the results of its Global Popularity Poll 2026 in an official Steam announcement, and she took first place in the Pal category, ahead of Solenne and Chillet. She's also one of the best Handiwork workers in the game, and her Alpha form carries an oversized work bonus that players are racing to farm before Pocketpair touches it.

This guide covers every place Sekhmet spawns, which Pals to breed for her, how her Desert Empress partner skill actually works, and the egg setup that turns a normal Sekhmet into an Alpha. Everything below applies to the live build, version 1.0.5 (September 2026). The next content patch, "Palworld: Side by Side" (update 1.1), is due in Winter 2026. Sources: the in-game Palpedia, the Palworld wiki, paldb.cc datamined values, and the official Steam announcement.

What kind of Pal is Sekhmet in Palworld?

Sekhmet is a Ground-type, Rarity 5, medium-sized Humanoid Pal added in the 1.0 update on July 10, 2026. She was one of the 47 brand-new Pals in 1.0, which is why any guide written before July 2026 doesn't mention her. Her Palpedia entry ties her straight to Anubis: "Once a fierce creature feared as a symbol of death. When Anubis claimed that mantle, wealthy elites looking for a replacement beguiled the species with wine."

That lore matches her job in the game. She's built to make Anubis work faster.

Handiwork Lv.6 puts her level with Anubis on crafting benches. Anubis is the better all-rounder (it adds Mining Lv.6 and Transporting Lv.4), but Sekhmet is easier to get early and buffs Anubis on top of her own work.

Where is Sekhmet's location in Palworld?

Sekhmet has three wild spawn areas in 1.0. Pick one by your level and how much time you want to spend.

Three wild Sekhmet at level 37 to 40 in the Palworld Dessicated Desert

1. Dessicated Desert (level 37–42) — the main spawn

The big sand region in the north-east of the Palpagos Islands is where most players find her, and the Palworld wiki lists it as her main natural habitat. Fast travel to the Searing Dunes Watchtower and work outwards. Datamined spawn maps put the densest clusters around (341, 340) and (512, 367) on the in-game map. She spawns day and night, so you don't need to wait for a time of day.

The catch: the desert spawn table is crowded. Per the PalMods 1.0 spawn extract, Sekhmet is only about 40 of 1,410 weight on an 18-Pal table, so roughly one spawn roll in 35 is a Sekhmet. If she isn't there, clear or capture what is and keep moving. Tetroise uses the same spawn points at level 48–52, so expect to see a lot of it.

2. Sandstone Gate Islet (level 65–68) — the fast spawn

The Sandstone Gate Islet, a small desert island just west of Feybreak Island, is the best place to farm Sekhmet once you can handle level 65+ enemies. Its spawn table has only three Pals, and Sekhmet takes about 29.5% of the rolls, roughly ten times the desert rate. The other two are Prixter Lux and the occasional Anubis, so this is also a decent Anubis spot.

3. The World Tree (level 80) — not worth hunting

Sekhmet also shows up at level 80 in the World Tree, but only on the shared aura spawner that rolls between 72 different Pals, so the odds of any one spawn being her are about 1 in 72. The only reason to care is the drop table: level 80 World Tree Sekhmet also drops 10–20 Ground Radiant Gems (the Awakening material, see our Awakening and Radiant Gems guide). As a Sekhmet farm, ignore it.

Spawn areaLevelChance per rollBest for
Dessicated Desert37–42~2.8%Your first Sekhmet, mid-game
Sandstone Gate Islet65–68~29.5%Fast farming, breeding stock
World Tree (aura)80~1.4%Not worth targeting

Spawn chances are spawn-table weights from the datamined 1.0 files, not measured drop rates.

How do you catch Sekhmet?

Sekhmet is a straightforward catch. She's pure Ground, so Grass attacks do bonus damage and Electric attacks are resisted. At level 40, a Rarity 5 Pal goes down fast, so the bigger risk is killing her by accident.

  • Bring a Grass Pal but switch it to passive before you throw. Lyleen, Verdash and Warsect all work.
  • Chip her to low HP with a light weapon, not a shotgun.
  • Throw Mega Spheres for the desert spawns. Use Hyper Spheres or better for the level 65+ islet spawns.
  • Catch five. Since 1.0 the Capture Bonus completes at 5 captures (it was 12 in Early Access), and you'll want extra Sekhmet for condensing anyway.

What do you breed to get Sekhmet?

Sekhmet has a breeding power of 870, and PinDrop's 1.0 breeding table lists 139 parent pairs that produce her. You don't need a special combo; any pair that averages out to her slot works. The useful ones:

Parent 1Parent 2Why use it
MoldronSootseerEarliest pair you can catch wild (Moldron from Lv.32, Sootseer from Lv.45)
FrostplumeGhanglerBoth common, cheap to replace
AnubisIcelynGood if you already run an Anubis base
AnubisNyafiaSame, alternate partner
SekhmetSekhmetAlways produces Sekhmet; use it to stack passives

You need a Breeding Farm and a Cake in its feed box; eggs hatch from a Large Rocky Egg, which hatches faster near a heater. For the full breeding loop, passive inheritance and Cake recipes, see our Palworld breeding guide.

Once you have a male and a female Sekhmet, breed them together to stack worker passives. There are 139 valid pairs and no single "best" one, so if you're working from your own Palbox, a live breeding calculator will find a route faster than any fixed list.

What does Sekhmet's partner skill Desert Empress do?

The Palpedia text in 1.0 reads: "While at base, boosts Anubis's work speed by 20%. Increases efficiency by 30% if Sekhmet is also working at a Workbench, Workshop, or other related facilities. (Does not stack)"

Sekhmet Palpedia entry showing the Desert Empress partner skill and Handiwork Lv.6

The wording confuses a lot of players, so here's what it actually does:

  • Part 1 is a base-wide aura for Anubis. Every Anubis at the same base works faster while Sekhmet is assigned there.
  • Part 2 is a bonus for Sekhmet herself. The efficiency boost applies to Sekhmet when she is working a crafting facility. It isn't a second Anubis buff.
  • "Does not stack" means a second Sekhmet at the same base doesn't add another Anubis aura. One Sekhmet per base covers the buff.

Both numbers grow when you condense her. Per paldb.cc's datamined table:

Condense rankAnubis work speedSekhmet's own efficiency
0 stars+20%+30%
1 star+24%+36%
2 stars+28%+42%
3 stars+32%+48%
4 stars+40%+60%

Condensing to 4 stars takes 48 Pals in total in 1.0 (down from 116 in Early Access). Our condensing guide covers the fastest way to collect them.

Is there an Alpha Sekhmet in Palworld?

Yes, but you won't find it in the world. The Palworld wiki is explicit: "There is no Alpha Sekhmet as an overworld boss." The Alpha form, named Cutthroat Sun Snuffer, only comes from eggs.

It's worth the effort for one reason: its partner skill. The datamined Alpha version keeps the same +20–40% Anubis aura but its own efficiency bonus jumps to +200% at base, rising to +400% at 4 stars, compared with +30–60% on a normal Sekhmet. Players noticed that the second half of the Alpha's skill uses a much larger number than the normal Sekhmet. It matches the 200–400% crafting bonus that Ribbuny Botan has at weapon benches. Most players treat it as a suspected bug, and a fresh r/Palworld thread this week is asking whether Pocketpair will fix it. Players report it still works on 1.0.5 and no patch note has mentioned it, but there's no guarantee it survives the 1.1 update.

One player in that r/Palworld thread who built a late-game base around it described it this way: "I had bred, condensed, souled up, and booked up 10 alpha Sekhmets. This was complete overkill. They produce more of each type of ore that I could ever need." So you don't need ten. One or two Alpha Sekhmet at a crafting base is plenty.

How to get an Alpha Sekhmet (3 ways)

1. The Broncherry egg party (best). Two 1.0 partner skills convert eggs into Alpha eggs at the moment you pick them up:

Pal in partyPartner skillEffectSaddle
BroncherryLove's First Blossom35–45% chance a picked-up Pal Egg becomes AlphaTechnology Lv.33
Broncherry AquaPurity's Full Bloom45–55% chance a picked-up Pal Egg becomes AlphaTechnology Lv.44
GrintaleGlaring Cat's Eye50–75% chance of an extra eggTechnology Lv.19

The partner skills only work with their saddle crafted. Breed Sekhmet normally, swap Broncherry, Broncherry Aqua and Grintale into your party, then collect the eggs. Each skill is marked "does not stack", so a second Broncherry of the same species adds nothing. The two different species do add together, though: per PalMods' 1.0 test and player reports, 35% + 45% = 80% at base rank, and fully condensing both (45% + 55%) reaches 100%. Grintale doesn't make Alphas; it doubles some eggs, which matters when your parents carry the passives you want.

2. Huge Rocky Eggs in the desert. Sekhmet's Alpha form is in the Huge Rocky Egg pool in the Dessicated Desert, at roughly an 8% chance per egg in the datamined table. It's a lottery, but any Huge Rocky Egg you find there could be her.

3. Plain breeding and Mutation. Any bred Pal has a 5% chance of hatching as an Alpha (wiki), and a mutated egg is always an Alpha. But a mutation can also change the species, so two Sekhmet parents don't guarantee a mutated Alpha Sekhmet. Mutation is rare, so treat it as a bonus rather than a plan. See our mutation guide.

Is Sekhmet worth using in Palworld 1.0?

For your base, yes. For combat, she's fine but not a top pick.

  • Crafting base: Handiwork Lv.6 plus the Anubis aura makes one Sekhmet a strong addition to any base that already runs Anubis. Pair her with two or three Anubis on the same base. Our best worker Pals list and best base locations cover the rest of the setup.
  • Alpha Sekhmet: The suspected-bug efficiency bonus makes her one of the fastest crafters in the game right now. If you play long-term, breed one while it lasts.
  • Combat: A level 80 Sekhmet sits around 790–997 Attack, and her kit is fast melee: two exclusive Ground skills (power 300 and 400) plus Sand Twister and Rocky Impact. She's usable, but she's no Orserk, Jetragon or Bastigor.

Both versions drop 2–3 Leather and 1–2 Large Pal Souls every time. An Alpha also drops 3–5 Ancient Civilization Parts and 2–3 Precious Claws. Large Pal Souls feed straight into the Statue of Power, see our Pal Souls farm.

Short on time to farm Sekhmet, breed Alphas and grind to level 80? Sandstone Gate Islet spawns are level 65–68, and the Broncherry Aqua saddle needs Technology Lv.44. Skip the leveling and go straight to the endgame base.

FAQ

Where is Sekhmet in Palworld 1.0? In the Dessicated Desert in the north-east of the Palpagos Islands at level 37–42. Fast travel to the Searing Dunes Watchtower. For faster spawns at level 65–68, go to the Sandstone Gate Islet west of Feybreak.

Where do I find Alpha Sekhmet? You can't find one in the world; there's no overworld Alpha Sekhmet boss. You get one by hatching an egg: collect bred Sekhmet eggs with Broncherry and Broncherry Aqua in your party, find one in a Huge Rocky Egg in the desert, or roll the 5% Alpha chance from normal breeding.

What two Pals make Sekhmet? The earliest wild-catchable pair is Moldron + Sootseer. Frostplume + Ghangler, Anubis + Icelyn and Anubis + Nyafia also work, and two Sekhmet always breed another Sekhmet. PinDrop lists 139 valid pairs in 1.0.

Does Sekhmet's partner skill stack? No. One Sekhmet per base gives the Anubis work speed boost; a second Sekhmet doesn't add another one. Condensing raises the boost from 20% to 40%.

Does Sekhmet's efficiency boost help other Pals? No. The efficiency part of Desert Empress only applies to Sekhmet while she works a Workbench, Workshop or similar facility. The only boost to other Pals is the Anubis work speed aura.

Why is Sekhmet so popular? She won Pocketpair's Global Popularity Poll 2026 in the Pal category, announced October 20, 2026, and her Alpha form has a 200–400% crafting bonus that players suspect is a bug and don't want fixed.

Applies to Palworld version 1.0.5. Spawn chances come from datamined 1.0 spawn tables and may shift in the 1.1 "Side by Side" update.
