Robux to USD: How Much Are Your Robux Actually Worth in 2026?

"How much is my Robux worth in dollars?" sounds like it should have one clean answer. It has two — and they're wildly different. The price you pay to buy Robux and the rate you get back cashing Robux out are not mirror images; the gap between them is the single most misunderstood thing about Roblox's economy. Below is the full 2026 picture — the official price table, every common conversion, the creator cash-out (DevEx) rates, and the line Roblox's own Terms of Use draw around selling Robux for real money — all verified against Roblox's Help Center and developer docs.

How much is Robux in USD? (quick answer)

TL;DR — When you buy, Robux costs roughly $0.009–$0.0125 each on the Roblox website (US pricing). The best value is the biggest pack: 22,500 Robux = $199.99 (~113 Robux per dollar) or 10,000 Robux = $99.99 (a clean 100 per dollar), while the smallest packs (80 Robux = $0.99, 400 Robux = $4.99) work out to about 80 Robux per dollar. When you cash out as a creator through the Developer Exchange (DevEx), Earned Robux are worth only $0.0038 each at the standard rate — $114 per 30,000 Robux. So the same 10,000 Robux that costs you $99.99 to buy would return a creator about $38. Regular purchased or stipend Robux cannot be cashed out at all — only Earned Robux via DevEx can. Prices are higher in the mobile app and vary by region; always check the live amounts at roblox.com/upgrades/robux.

Keep that asymmetry in mind for everything below: buying is expensive, cashing out is cheap, and most Robux can't be cashed out at all. That's by design — it keeps value inside the platform.

How much do Robux cost? (the official 2026 price table)

These are Roblox's standard web/desktop package prices in US dollars. Buying on roblox.com or the Windows app is the reference point — the mobile app charges more (see below).

Price (USD)RobuxRobux per $1Cost per 100 Robux
$0.9980~81~$1.24
$4.99400~80~$1.25
$9.99800~80~$1.25
$19.991,700~85~$1.18
$49.994,500~90~$1.11
$99.9910,000~100~$1.00
$199.9922,500~113~$0.89

The pattern is obvious once you line the packs up: the more you buy at once, the more Robux each dollar gets you — from ~80 Robux per dollar on the small packs up to ~113 on the $199.99 pack. Roblox also runs rotating "more Robux" promotions and bonus-item offers (the $199.99 pack above bundled a limited Platinum Domino Crown avatar item), and its store has advertised "Enjoy up to 25% more Robux" on select offers (roblox.com/upgrades/robux). Because those promos shift, treat this table as the durable baseline and confirm the live numbers before you check out.

One myth to kill immediately: the 10% bonus Robux you used to get for buying while subscribed is gone. Roblox removed that purchase bonus in 2026 — even for legacy Premium holders (from May 30, 2026). No current subscription adds bonus Robux to a top-up anymore, so the table above is what everyone pays. (If you're fuzzy on the Premium-to-Plus switch, we broke it down in full in Roblox Plus Explained.)

How much is 400, 1,000, 10,000 Robux in dollars?

Because Roblox only sells fixed packs, "how much is X Robux" really means what's the cheapest pack that gets you there. Here are the conversions people search for most, using US web pricing:

RobuxClosest way to buy itApprox. USD
80 Robux$0.99 pack (smallest)$0.99
100 RobuxNo exact pack — buy the 400 pack~$1.25 in value
400 Robux$4.99 pack$4.99
800 Robux$9.99 pack$9.99
1,000 RobuxNo exact pack — buy the 1,700 pack~$12.50 in value; $19.99 to actually get them
1,700 Robux$19.99 pack$19.99
4,500 Robux$49.99 pack$49.99
10,000 Robux$99.99 pack$99.99
22,500 Robux$199.99 pack (best rate)$199.99

The rule of thumb for any amount not on the list: under 1 cent per Robux if you buy the biggest pack, closer to 1.25 cents if you buy small. So 2,000 Robux is roughly $20–$25, and 5,000 Robux is roughly $50–$60 depending on which pack(s) you combine. There is no way to buy an arbitrary odd number — you buy a pack and keep the change.

Why is the per-dollar rate different for each pack?

Look back at the "Robux per $1" column: it climbs from ~80 on the small packs to ~100 on the $99.99 pack and ~113 on the $199.99 pack. Roblox deliberately rewards larger single purchases — the 10,000 Robux pack gives about 25% more Robux per dollar than the 400 pack, and the 22,500 pack more still. If you already know you'll spend it, one big buy beats several small ones. This is the closest thing to a "discount" on Robux itself, and it's available to everyone, no subscription required.

For context, a Roblox Plus subscription ($4.99/month) doesn't give you cheaper Robux — it gives a 10% discount on what you spend Robux on (rising to 20% after two months). That's a different lever: bulk packs make Robux cheaper to acquire; Plus makes items cheaper to buy with Robux.

Web vs mobile: why the same Robux costs more in the app

If 800 Robux looks pricier on your phone than in the table above, you're not imagining it. Buying through the iOS or Android app routes payment through Apple's or Google's store, and Roblox passes the ~30% app-store cut on to you — so the same Robux buys for more dollars on mobile than on desktop. The fix is simple:

  • Buy on the website (roblox.com) or the Windows app, then use the Robux in whatever app or device you like.
  • Official gift cards (from real retail partners) redeem as Robux or credit at roblox.com/redeem and dodge the app-store markup too — and cards sometimes carry a bonus the direct pack doesn't. The $200 digital card below, for example, grants 24,000 Robux (22,500 + 1,500 bonus), versus 22,500 for the same money bought directly on the site.

Regional pricing also varies — the same pack in rupees, naira, pesos or euros won't be a straight exchange-rate conversion of the US price, because Roblox sets local pricing per market and taxes differ. Check your own checkout screen for the exact local amount; don't trust a currency-converter site's raw math.

How much is Robux worth the other way — cashing out with DevEx?

This is where the second, very different answer comes in. Roblox lets creators convert Earned Robux back into real money through the Developer Exchange (DevEx). The rates, straight from Roblox's developer documentation (create.roblox.com/docs), as of 2026:

DevEx rateUSD per Earned RobuxPer 30,000 RobuxApplies to
Standard$0.0038$114Most Earned Robux
Enhanced$0.0054$162Earned Robux from purchases by 18+ age-verified US players (effective June 8, 2026)
Legacy$0.0035$105Balances earned before Sept 5, 2025 (these cash out first)

Three things every player should understand about DevEx:

  • The minimum is 30,000 Earned Robux. You can't cash out small balances.
  • Only Earned Robux qualify. Robux you bought, and any subscription stipend Robux, are not DevEx-eligible — full stop. Earned Robux come from other players spending on your gamepasses, dev products, subscriptions, or private servers.
  • You need to be 13+, have a verified email, a valid DevEx account, and file a W-9 (US) or W-8 (non-US) tax form, and be in full compliance with Roblox's terms.

Now the punchline on "Robux to real money": you buy Robux at about $0.009–$0.0125 each, but a creator only receives about $0.0038 each cashing the same Robux out (standard rate). That ~3x spread is Roblox's platform economics in a single number — and it's exactly why nobody "invests" in Robux expecting to cash out at a profit.

Can I sell my Robux or Roblox items for real money?

Short answer: no — not outside Roblox. This is the line that protects your account, so get it exactly right. Roblox's Terms of Use prohibit:

"buying, selling, or trading Robux or virtual Roblox items outside the Roblox website."

Roblox states such transactions are void and can result in suspension or termination, and enforcement is active — a documented 2026 account termination cited that clause verbatim. What is allowed:

  • Buying Robux from Roblox and from authorised resellers (official gift cards at real retail partners).
  • In-platform trading of avatar Limiteds between players, under Roblox's rules (both players need Roblox Plus or a legacy Premium subscription; Robux added to a trade carries a 30% fee and is capped at 50% of your side's value).
  • DevEx for eligible creators cashing out Earned Robux.

So there's no legitimate "sell my Robux for cash" button for a normal player. If you want to turn Robux into progress — a rare pet, a boosted account, a stack of in-game currency — that's what safe, on-platform-friendly services are for, not a sketchy off-platform Robux sale that risks a ban.

Is buying Robux worth it, and what's the cheapest safe way?

Here's the decision in plain terms:

  • Cheapest per Robux: buy the largest pack you'll realistically spend on the website (not the app). 10,000 Robux at $99.99 is the best sticker rate; if that's too much, the $49.99 / 4,500 pack is the next-best per-dollar.
  • Safest: buy from Roblox directly or official gift cards. Never hand Robux or account details to an off-platform buyer.
  • Best real-world value: decide what you actually want first. If your goal is a specific pet, currency stack, or account progress in a game like Adopt Me!, Blox Fruits or Murder Mystery 2, buying loose Robux and grinding the conversion yourself is often slower and dearer than getting the end result directly.

FAQ

How much is 10,000 Robux in USD? 10,000 Robux costs $99.99 on the Roblox website (US pricing) — the best per-dollar rate Roblox sells, at about 100 Robux per dollar. It costs more in the mobile app because of the app-store fee. Note the reverse isn't equal: a creator cashing out 10,000 Earned Robux through DevEx would receive only about $38 at the standard rate.

How much is 1,000 Robux? About $12.50 in value, but there's no standalone 1,000-Robux pack — the closest purchase is the 1,700-Robux pack for $19.99. Buying in bulk (the 10,000 pack) drops the effective cost to roughly $10 per 1,000 Robux.

How much is 400 Robux? $4.99 — it's the smallest pack Roblox sells, at about 80 Robux per dollar. Small packs are the worst value per dollar; larger packs give more Robux for each dollar.

What is the Robux to USD rate? Two different rates. Buying costs roughly $0.010–$0.0125 per Robux depending on pack size. Cashing out via the Developer Exchange pays creators $0.0038 per Earned Robux at the standard rate ($114 per 30,000), or $0.0054 at the enhanced 2026 rate. Only Earned Robux can be cashed out — bought and stipend Robux cannot.

Can I convert Robux back to real money? Only if you're a creator using the Developer Exchange, only with Earned Robux, and only above the 30,000 Robux minimum, after meeting Roblox's eligibility and tax-form requirements. Regular players cannot cash out purchased or stipend Robux. Selling Robux to anyone off-platform violates Roblox's Terms of Use and can get your account terminated.

Why is Robux cheaper on the website than in the app? The iOS and Android apps route payment through Apple's and Google's stores, which take roughly a 30% cut that Roblox passes on to you. Buying on roblox.com or the Windows app — or redeeming an official gift card — avoids that markup, so the same dollar buys more Robux.

Do I get more Robux for buying in bulk? Yes. The per-dollar rate rises from about 80 Robux per dollar on the $4.99 pack to about 100 per dollar on the $99.99 pack — roughly 25% more Robux per dollar. If you know you'll spend it, one large purchase beats several small ones.
