Quick answer: WARDOGS Season 2 is coming "about a month after launch, so three weeks away-ish," BULKHEAD CEO Joe Brammer said on 18 September 2026 — so roughly early October 2026, though no exact date is published. When it lands, BULKHEAD has confirmed your Cash and XP progression reset, your banked Cash is automatically converted into Gold Bars, and your Gold Bars and cosmetics stay on your account permanently. Levels and Cash are season-scoped and disposable; cosmetics are the only thing you keep. This guide explains exactly what carries over, what disappears, and what to do with your Season 1 Cash before the reset. All figures are Season 1 / launch build (Patch 0.11) and BULKHEAD publishes no numeric season-end date.

Is WARDOGS Season 2 confirmed, and when is the release date?
Yes — Season 2 is confirmed, but no exact date has been published. On 18 September 2026, BULKHEAD CEO Joe Brammer wrote on X (reported by PCGamesN) that he had just played the Season 2 build and that the plan is for it to release "about a month after launch, so three weeks away-ish." WARDOGS launched into Steam Early Access on 10 September 2026 at 16:00 UTC, which puts the target in early October 2026 — but "three weeks-ish" is a developer estimate, not a scheduled date, so treat it as a window and check the Steam announcements feed before you plan around it.
Brammer's framing matters for how you spend the next few weeks: "Season 2 and 3 look sick… stuff we had to cut to hit early access now coming to fruition is awesome." He also flagged that BULKHEAD is "not happy with the state of vehicles" in the current build and acknowledged the game "definitely" has team-balance issues — "it's green team who wins most of the time… blue getting destroyed is definitely a problem." So expect Season 2 to bring vehicle and balance changes on top of the standard progression reset. What Season 2 will not do, per BULKHEAD, is dramatically expand the maps, vehicle count or weapon types during Early Access.
Sourcing note. Every economy and reset mechanic below is drawn from BULKHEAD's own Steam announcements and devlogs. The WARDOGS SERP is full of AI content farms inventing season dates, level caps and map names — we don't. Where a number isn't published, this guide says so.
What resets when WARDOGS Season 2 starts?
| The core rule comes straight from BULKHEAD's devlog *WARDOGS | Early Access & Beyond* (7 April 2026): |
|---|
"At the end of a season, your cash and XP progression will reset with your cash auto converted into gold bars… Your gold bars and cosmetics from a season will stay permanently on your account across seasons."
Break that into what you lose and what you keep:
Wiped at season end (Cash + XP):
- Your Cash balance — the dollar-denominated ($) currency you spend on loadouts every life. It does not roll over as Cash.
- Your XP progression across the six progression tracks (Career, Medic, Support, Driver, Pilot, Recon). Your track levels reset, which means the unlock gates re-lock — you re-earn access to the Artillery Tank, the Heavy Tank, the Deagle and everything else.
Kept permanently (across every season):
- Gold Bars — the endgame currency you buy in the Gold Market.
- Cosmetics — every camo, skin and vanity item you've unlocked, forever.
The critical wrinkle: your Cash is not simply deleted. At reset, BULKHEAD auto-converts your banked Cash into Gold Bars. So Cash you're sitting on when Season 2 flips becomes permanent cosmetic currency instead of evaporating. That single mechanic changes how you should play the back half of Season 1.
Note that BULKHEAD frames each season as its own economy on purpose: "Each season we will have a different XP curve with different item orders." The Season 1 XP curve — famously slowed, up to 124.2% more XP required at level 20 — is not guaranteed to carry into Season 2. A different curve and different unlock ordering is exactly what BULKHEAD has told you to expect.
Should you spend your Cash or bank it before the reset?
This is the decision that actually matters, and the answer depends on what you want out of Season 2.
Bank it (let it convert to Gold Bars) if you value permanent cosmetics. Cash is a depreciating, season-scoped asset — it's worth nothing the moment Season 2 starts except through the auto-conversion. Gold Bars and the cosmetics they buy are the only things that survive the reset. If you've been grinding a big Cash pile and you don't need it for a specific unlock this season, banking it turns a disposable balance into a permanent one.
Spend it now if there's an unlock or a run you actually want to enjoy in Season 1. Cash only has in-match value while the season is live: buying a better loadout, a vehicle, or pushing for a big-ticket item like the Artillery Tank (Career 90 + $500,000) or the Heavy Tank (Driver 35). Once the season ends, that spending power is gone in Cash form anyway.
What you should not do is hoard Cash "for Season 2 progression." It won't be there — it'll be Gold Bars, which buy cosmetics, not loadouts or unlocks. There is no way to carry a Cash war-chest into a new season to skip the early grind. Every season, you start the loadout economy over from the account's Cash rules.
Heads-up on the Season 1 XP curve. Because leveling was deliberately slowed at launch (up to 124% more XP at level 20), a lot of players will hit the reset well short of the big-ticket unlocks. If you're chasing a specific gate before Season 2, our WARDOGS unlock levels guide lists every confirmed Season 1 track gate, and the Season 1 XP curve breakdown shows exactly how much grind sits between you and level 50.
Does beta or Season 1 progress carry into Season 2?
Beta progress did not carry into Early Access, and Season 1 progress will not carry into Season 2 — with the two exceptions above. This is the single most common question on the WARDOGS Steam Discussions board, and the answer is a hard "no" for Cash and levels.
To be precise about what "persistence" even means in WARDOGS right now: BULKHEAD, asked how much of your progress is permanent at Early Access launch, said plainly, "At early access launch? It's keeping your cash. That's the persistence. It's just your cash. But the plan for full release is the meta game." The deeper metagame systems — Player Skills, the Challenge System, the Vault — are planned, post-Early-Access features, not live now. So today the only cross-match persistence is your Cash (within a season) and your account-level Gold Bars and cosmetics (across seasons).

Will Season 2 add new content, maps or vehicles?
Some, but don't expect a huge expansion during Early Access. BULKHEAD has stated it won't be dramatically expanding the maps, vehicle count, or weapon types through Early Access. WARDOGS currently ships with 37 weapons, 21 vehicles, and three maps (each with three variations), and that footprint is broadly the Early Access plan.
What Season 2 is likely to change instead:
- Vehicles. Brammer said BULKHEAD is "not happy with the state of vehicles" — expect a rebalance rather than a pile of new ones.
- Team balance. BULKHEAD acknowledged blue team is disadvantaged and green wins most; balance passes are on the table, though they've ruled out quick fixes like randomizing spawns.
- A different XP curve and unlock order, per BULKHEAD's standing "each season" statement.
- Cut content returning — Brammer's "stuff we had to cut to hit early access now coming to fruition."
None of this is a published patch note yet, so treat it as developer signalling, not a changelog. The current live build is Patch 0.11 (12 September 2026); Season 2's notes will supersede it when they drop.
What is the smartest way to prepare for the Season 2 reset?
A simple checklist for the final weeks of Season 1:
- Decide your Cash plan now. Either spend it on unlocks/runs you'll enjoy this season, or bank it so it converts to permanent Gold Bars. Don't leave it half-committed.
- Chase only reachable gates. With the slowed Season 1 curve, pick unlock targets you can realistically hit before the reset instead of grinding toward a level 90 Career unlock you won't reach.
- Bank Cash if you care about cosmetics. The auto-conversion is the only thing that gives idle Cash lasting value.
- Don't buy anything expecting it to carry over. Loadout purchases are per-life and per-season; nothing you buy with Cash persists as an item into Season 2.
- Watch the announcements feed, not the content farms, for the real date and the real patch notes.
If the reset means you're effectively starting the progression grind over and you'd rather not repeat the slowest levels twice, that's exactly the "save time" case our WARDOGS services exist for — in-game earning is always the primary route, and BULKHEAD watches the Cash economy closely, so we focus on legitimate, hand-done leveling and Cash farming rather than anything that touches exploits.
Skip the double grind on Timesaver.gg? Season resets mean re-earning Cash and re-climbing the tracks. If you'd rather not do the slow early levels twice, our WARDOGS specialists can help:
- WARDOGS Cash — hand-farmed in-game Cash, fast turnaround, so your loadout economy is ready when you are.
- WARDOGS Career Leveling — climb the Career track toward the big-ticket unlock gates without the level-15-to-20 XP wall.
- WARDOGS Class Leveling — level a specific track (Medic, Support, Driver, Pilot, Recon) to the gear you actually want.
- Rent a WARDOGS Pro — keep your own account and party up with a specialist to win rounds and earn faster.

FAQ
When is the WARDOGS Season 2 release date? No exact date is published. BULKHEAD CEO Joe Brammer said on 18 September 2026 that Season 2 is planned for "about a month after launch, so three weeks away-ish," which points to early October 2026. Because that's a developer estimate rather than a scheduled date, confirm it against BULKHEAD's official Steam announcements before planning around it.
Do I lose my Cash when WARDOGS Season 2 starts? Your Cash balance resets, but it isn't deleted — BULKHEAD automatically converts your banked Cash into Gold Bars at season end. You can't carry Cash forward as Cash, so any Cash you're holding becomes permanent cosmetic currency instead.
Do my levels and unlocks reset in Season 2? Yes. XP progression across the six tracks resets, so the unlock gates re-lock and you re-earn access to items like the Artillery Tank and Heavy Tank. BULKHEAD has also said each season uses a different XP curve with a different item order, so Season 2's grind may not mirror Season 1's.
What carries over between WARDOGS seasons? Only your Gold Bars and your cosmetics. BULKHEAD's devlog states gold bars and cosmetics "stay permanently on your account across seasons," while cash and XP reset each season.
Should I spend or save my Cash before the reset? Spend it if there's an unlock or run you want to enjoy this season, since Cash only has in-match value while Season 1 is live. Save (bank) it if you want permanent cosmetics, because banked Cash auto-converts to Gold Bars at reset. Don't hoard Cash expecting to spend it on Season 2 loadouts — it won't be Cash anymore.
Did beta progress carry into WARDOGS Early Access? No. Beta progress did not carry over into the 10 September 2026 Early Access launch, and Season 1 progress will not carry into Season 2 beyond Gold Bars and cosmetics. The only in-season persistence today is your Cash; deeper metagame systems are planned for after Early Access.
