Most WARDOGS tips you'll find were written in launch week, and Season 2 quietly broke a lot of them. Binoculars no longer cost $75. Spotting pays around 30% less. A hammer no longer breaches a door.
This list keeps only what works on the current patch, and it puts a Season 2 number on each tip wherever BULKHEAD has published one. If you've just joined, or you came back for Season 2 and keep running out of money, start here.
Quick answer: The best WARDOGS tips for Season 2 are about Cash. Trim your rebuy every life, skip the Level 4 helmet unless you need it, stay in the Hot Zone for double Cash, chain logistics runs for streak bonuses, and raid enemy FOBs with your squad nearby. Treat armed vehicles as an expense, because destroying an equal one pays about half of what you spent deploying yours. Season 3 is scheduled for 12 November 2026, and it resets Cash and levels.
Updated 1 November 2026. Applies to WARDOGS Season 2, Update 0.2.0 (patch notes posted on Steam 14 October 2026, season live 15 October 2026). WARDOGS is BULKHEAD's 100-player, three-team Control Zone shooter on Steam, not the 2016 film or a Warhammer 40,000 unit. Prices below are vendor prices per life or per deployment unless stated, and they come from the Season 02 Patch Notes unless a tip says otherwise. Player reports are labelled. We'll update this page when Season 3 lands.

What do older WARDOGS tip lists get wrong in Season 2?
Check any guide you're reading against this table. The left column is advice that was fair at launch, and the right column is what Update 0.2.0 changed.
| Launch-era advice | Season 2 reality |
|---|---|
| Binoculars cost $75, a monocular $150 | $180 and $350 |
| Spotting is the easy money | Rewards are around 30% lower and scale with the target's value |
| Build drill rigs to win matches | Max uptime fell from 375s to 300s, and activation fuel rose from 1,500 to 2,000 |
| Breach doors with a hammer | Hammers can't breach doors or gates any more, but the Halligan Bar can |
| Supply pallets need no unlock | Mechanical, Ammo and Fuel pallets now unlock at WARDOG 5, 9 and 16 ($10k, $25k, $50k) |
| .308 guns outdamage everything | .308 base damage fell 25%, and 7.62x54mmR fell 20% |
| Level 4 is a straight upgrade | Level 4 helmets muffle audio, narrow your view and fog when you sprint |
| Level 20 is a huge grind | Role track level 20 fell from 250,000 XP to 111,500 XP |
BULKHEAD explained the spotting cut bluntly. Rewards dropped "as it was the lowest-risk, highest-paying way to earn." You can see similar thinking elsewhere in the patch: pallet and crate payouts fell, while hostile drill tower captures and Assault kills rose.
How do you stop wasting Cash in WARDOGS?
Cash persists between matches, but you re-buy your loadout after every death. These five habits matter more than any farming route.
1. Edit your rebuy, don't just press it
Rebuy Last Loadout now fills the vendor screen with your last kit, and you can add or remove items before you pay. Use that step. A Range Finder went from $400 to $1,450, and it's easy to keep paying for gear you stopped using three lives ago.
2. Start from the cheap guns
The AK74 is unlocked by default, and its price halved from $1,600 to $800. The PP-19 Bizon is also a default unlock at $1,000, plus $200 for its magazine. One $6,000 FAL costs the same as seven AK74s and change, and BULKHEAD says the FAL still has the highest damage per shot among assault rifles but now "sits closer to the TCX-SPR and M4". Save the expensive rifles for lives where you have a medic or a nearby spawn.
3. Don't buy the Level 4 helmet by reflex
A Level 4 helmet costs $4,500, against $2,000 for Level 3. You gain 10 points of damage reduction (60% vs 50%) and more suppression resistance (80% vs 68%). You pay for it with muffled audio and proximity chat, a narrower field of view and a helmet that fogs over when you sprint. Our armor tiers guide runs the full numbers. If footsteps win your fights, Level 3 is the better buy. Level 3 sets need WARDOG level 70, up from 60.
4. Treat armed vehicles as an expense
A Havoc costs $28,000 to deploy, and the L2A6 costs $22,000. Destroying an armed vehicle now has a listed reward of about half its deploy price, though attack-vehicle rewards rise with their kills. One equal kill recovers about half your deploy, so it takes about two to break even, before ammo and repairs. We worked this out for 13 vehicles in why helicopters and tanks lose money. Deploy them when your team needs them, not as a money plan.
5. Buy a parachute, and pull it early
Parachutes now open slowly. They won't open at all below about 10m, and if you're falling fast and open below roughly 50m, you'll take fall damage. The Basic Parachute rose to $500, while the Sport Parachute fell to $700 at WARDOG 34. BULKHEAD's advice is worth repeating: "Make sure you trust a pilot before getting into their aircraft."
How do you earn more Cash in WARDOGS Season 2?
Our Cash farming guide covers the full picture. These five habits are the best place to start.
6. Live in the Hot Zone
The Hot Zone is the shifting area inside the Control Zone, and BULKHEAD says it "yields DOUBLE CASH" and counts double toward zone control (Steam, 18 February 2026). Any plan that leaves you far from it needs to pay well to beat it.
7. Chain logistics runs
Base logistics pay less now, but consecutive runs add a bonus. BULKHEAD built this so drivers make return trips "instead of abandoning their vehicles." A pallet dropped in the Control Zone pays $1,250, plus a streak bonus of +$250 per pallet in a row, up to 10. Crates add +$100 per crate, return trips +$50 per trip (both up to 10), and delivered players +$25 per player (up to 25). The notes don't say what breaks a streak, or whether the bonus is flat or grows with each run, so keep your runs tight and don't bank on a total.
8. Spot high-value targets, not everything
Spotting still pays, but it now scales with target value, so a high-value target, such as an armed vehicle variant, pays more than a low-value one. If an enemy faction destroys your spotted target, you get 25% of the reward, down from 50%. Spot when you're already holding a position. Don't build a whole life around it.
9. Hack FOBs with your squad beside you
Hacking an enemy FOB pays the hacker $2,500. Season 2 also pays each teammate in the FOB's radius $1,000 and 250 XP, so bring everyone. Destroying a FOB adds up to +$7,500, based on the supplies it held. Our FOB guide covers the defending side, and closing a friendly FOB door now pays $75.
10. Help fill an empty server
Players who populate empty servers earn rewards and a vendor discount once the match begins. BULKHEAD hasn't published the amounts, but there's also a pre-match warm-up with guns and targets in each spawn, so the wait isn't wasted.
How do you win more fights in WARDOGS?
Season 2 added weather and rebuilt suppression, and both reward players who pay attention.
11. Move when it thunders
In heavier rain, "every player on the server hears the same strike at the same moment from the same direction," and BULKHEAD says it's "loud enough to mask footsteps, so use it strategically." Close the last few meters on that strike, but remember it hides their footsteps too. Rain also affects spotting range and reduces Molotov fire, so don't rely on either in a storm.
12. Suppress with small and medium calibers
Near-miss suppression from small and medium calibers is "considerably stronger" in Season 2. Near misses should now put more pressure on a target you can't hit. The notes don't claim that boost for high-caliber rounds like .308 and 7.62x54mmR, and rate of fire is now accounted for, so SMGs and pistols don't suppress disproportionately. Screen shake was cut so you can still read a suppressed fight yourself. Level 3 and Level 4 helmets cut suppression by 68% and 80%, so expect it to do less against heavily armored players.
13. Never shoot through your own helicopter's glass
"Helicopter cockpit glass now works both ways". Firing out through it damages your own aircraft, just as incoming fire does. Tell passengers, because this one surprises people mid-flight. Explosives and placeables also no longer work from enclosed vehicle seats. For flying itself, read the Pilot guide.
14. Carry a Halligan Bar on raids
Hammers no longer breach doors or gates, while the Halligan Bar breaches both. It fell to $885, its uses rose from 5 to 7, and each door breached pays $100 once.

How do you avoid team problems in WARDOGS?
Griefing and team balance keep coming up on r/WarDogs right now. You can't fix either alone, but you can stop them costing you money.
15. Read the squad intent before you join
Squad leaders can now set a visible intent, and you can see it on the squad list before joining. One player's advice on r/WarDogs on 1 November was to join a squad, ask about its agenda and pair up with what suits you. One reply warns that some squads kick you the moment you join, so don't take it personally.
16. Know the team-switch rules
Once a team is more than 10 points ahead, switching teams or joining mid-match has a cost. Your map stays obscured and you can't use the spawn vehicle until you first reach the Control Zone. You also can't switch again for 15 minutes. One player asked on 1 November how to read a match when joining with the map hidden, and the practical reply was to ask in chat. Do that before you buy a helicopter or an expensive gun.
17. Vote before you leave spawn
When a teammate kills you, you can Forgive or Punish, and Punish votes build toward kicks and escalating bans. If you respawn and leave the safe zone without voting, it counts as a forgive. Be careful around griefers, too. One player reports griefers wrecking a FOB, getting team-killed, then returning to stand in front of hammers until they were team-killed again, which left that player with 10-minute and then 20-minute bans. That's a single report, but don't retaliate, and stop swinging when someone steps into your work. Our griefing guide has more on what teammates can do.
18. Don't stash gear in the free spawn vehicle
Purchased vehicles keep their inventory private to the driver and their squad by default. Inventories in vehicles that spawn for free stay open to everyone. BULKHEAD's own warning is "Use at your own risk."
19. Keep your thumb off the spacebar on the Gold Exchange
One player reported on 1 November that pressing spacebar while viewing the rate instantly exchanged their Cash for a Gold Bar, with no confirmation. It's a single report and we found no comment from BULKHEAD, but the rate moves a lot. Check the latest dated reading on our Gold price page first.
What should you do before the WARDOGS wipe on 12 November?
Season 3 is currently scheduled for Thursday 12 November 2026, 11 days from this update, and no start time has been published. Its preview devlog has been delayed, so details could still move. Our Season 3 hub tracks the date.
BULKHEAD's reset rule, set out in its April 2026 devlog, is that Cash and XP progression reset and leftover Cash auto-converts into Gold Bars, which stay on your account. Nothing published says unlock fees come back, so on the current schedule a $250,000 unlock bought this week lasts about 11 days. Use remaining Cash on kit you'll enjoy, or keep it for Gold Bars. Exchanging it yourself needs the $150k Gold Market unlock at WARDOG 35, and whether the automatic conversion needs that unlock hasn't been published. What to buy before the wipe walks through that choice.

Read the rules first. everplay group plc's WARDOGS EULA (§14.1) lists "boosting" and "the purchase, sale, or exchange of in-game advantages… for real-world value" as cheating. We don't claim BULKHEAD allows this, and the risk sits with your account, up to a permanent ban. What we control is our own guarantee, refund policy and handling.

FAQ
What is the best tip for new WARDOGS players? Stay close to your team and the Hot Zone, and keep your loadout cheap until you stop dying quickly. Cash is what carries over between matches, and the Hot Zone pays double. Our beginner guide covers the first hour, though its prices date from Season 1.
Is spotting still worth it in WARDOGS Season 2? Yes, as a side income. Rewards are around 30% lower than in Season 1 and now scale with target value, while Binoculars cost $180 instead of $75.
Why is my map hidden when I join a WARDOGS match? Once a team is more than 10 points ahead, anyone who switches teams or joins mid-match has an obscured map until they first reach the Control Zone. They also can't use the spawn vehicle until then.
Can you still breach doors with a hammer in WARDOGS? No. Season 2 removed hammer breaching for doors and gates. The Halligan Bar breaches both, costs $885 and has 7 uses.
Why does WARDOGS keep kicking me for ping? Official servers now enforce regional ping limits, and BULKHEAD said on 21 October it would cut the maximum to 175. If you're kicked for sustained high ping, you can't rejoin that server until the next map. Use the server browser's ping filters to pick another one.
Do WARDOGS tips still apply after the Season 3 wipe? The habits should, but prices and unlock levels may change. We'll update this page once BULKHEAD posts the Season 3 notes.
