Three details matter more than the price itself.
Faction and ruleset are fixed. A face-to-face trade needs two characters of the same faction and the same ruleset. Pick the faction of the character that will receive the gold, not one you plan to switch to. There is no level, gear or reputation gate, so a bank alt on the right ruleset receives an order as well as your main.

Delivery times they publish. EpicCarry lists an estimated start of 15 to 30 minutes and an estimated completion of "up to 12 hours" on its gold page (listed on Nov 4, 2026). It also says in-game mail "usually takes about one hour" to arrive. LepreStore's page says delivery "depends on supplier readiness" and asks you to confirm timing in the order chat; its footer says most orders start in 15 minutes (listed on Nov 4, 2026). Per gold, WoW Forever costs many times what Classic Era costs, and "10×" is a round figure for that gap. Here is the measured version:
- Classic Era: our Classic Era gold price guide found third-party market rates of about $12 to $18 per 1,000 gold in July 2026, citing the PlayerAuctions price tracker. That is roughly 1.2 to 1.8 cents per gold.
- WoW Forever: the 30 per-gold offers on the PlayerAuctions WoW Forever gold page ran from $0.031 to $5.50 per gold, with a middle offer of $0.11 (listed on Nov 4, 2026). These are seller asking prices, an estimate of the market, not completed sales.
On those figures, the middle Forever listing was about 6 to 9 times the Era rate, the cheapest Forever offers sat closer to 2 to 3 times, and hand-delivered offers from service sites sat far higher. The gap will move every day of launch week. The reasons behind it are structural:
1. Nobody has any gold yet. Every Forever character started at level 1 on November 4. Classic Era realms have had years of gold piling up in banks. A new economy has almost no supply on day one, and whatever exists is in the hands of the few players who farmed first.

3. There is no WoW Token. Forever has no official way to turn real money into gold, so every purchase runs through third parties. That keeps supply thin.
4. Blizzard enforcement raises the cost of supply. Blizzard has said it will act against gold buyers' accounts and introduced Temporary Economy Holds on October 13, 2026. Expect the rate to fall over the first weeks as more players reach 60 and farm. Classic launches have always followed that pattern, though Blizzard's enforcement this time makes it harder to predict.
What does Blizzard say about buying gold in WoW Forever?
