What are the WoW Forever raids and when do they open?

All three unlock on December 9, 2026, five weeks after launch, and Blizzard says all raids are "currently planned to reset each week." For Onyxia, Blizzard tells players to "build their fire resistance before entering", but it hasn't published a resistance number.

Where does WoW Forever pre-raid gear come from?

LFCarry's WoW Forever BiS lists (read on Nov 3, 2026) summarise the sources. In its words, Blizzard "re-examined the loot of every dungeon boss", and every unique boss item is now blue:

Blackmaw Hold and Shaper's Terrace levels are from Blizzard's new dungeons overview. LFCarry notes that "Boss loot for the level 60 dungeons is still hidden in the launch client", and that on September 28 only 4,419 of 12,594 items in the beta files had revealed stats. That is why the class tables below list sets and sources, not a named item for every slot.

Pre-raid BiS by class: Dungeon Set 2

Dungeon Set 2 is back for every class. According to LFCarry's reading of the beta files, every set gives all resistances at 2 pieces, mana regeneration at 3 pieces (Vitality for Rogue and Warrior), and the bonuses stop at 6 pieces. Each set has 8 pieces, so 6 give the full bonus and the other 2 slots are free for your best dungeon blue.

What changes in raid gear on December 9?

Pre-raid gear is what you wear on the first raid night. After that, tier 1 replaces it. From the same LFCarry guide, based on beta files and still open to tuning:

LFCarry reports that each set has six pieces, raid pieces are item level 65, and shoulders, gloves, legs and boots also come as crafted item level 61 versions made with Malleable Essence of Nature from Hyjal Summit or Barrow Deeps. Blizzard places the new tier sets in Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit but hasn't published loot tables.

How do you get Onyxia attunement?

Blizzard's raid overview says Onyxia's Lair "requires each member of the raid to carry the Drakefire Amulet to enter." The amulet only needs to be in your bags, not equipped. Both factions finish on General Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire:

• Alliance starts with "Dragonkin Menace" from Helendis Riverhorn in the Burning Steppes, works through Blackrock Depths and the Great Masquerade in Stormwind, and finishes in UBRS. That's 16 quests counting each "True Masters" step.
• Horde starts with "Blood and Thunder" from Warlord Goretooth in Kargath, Badlands, runs Lower Blackrock Spire, brings Emberstrife in Dustwallow Marsh four dragon skulls, and finishes in UBRS.
