ZZZ Redeem Code Guide: How to Redeem Codes in Zenless Zone Zero (and Why Yours Failed)

Quick answer: There are two ways to use a ZZZ redeem code, and they are not equivalent. The website route (the official Zenless Zone Zero redemption page) is faster but requires you to sign in and pick the exact server your save lives on. The in-game route is Main Menu, then More Features, then Redemption Code, and it works on every platform without a browser. Both are gated behind Inter-Knot Level 5, which is your account-wide level and not an Agent's level. Rewards never land in your inventory directly: they arrive as in-game mail, and HoYoverse's own notices state that mail expires 30 days after delivery. A code cannot be redeemed twice on the same account, and a code that worked for a streamer yesterday may already be dead, because codes also carry usage caps and server restrictions. As of October 2, 2026 only four strings clear our two-independent-source bar — and all four were first discovered in 2024, which matters more than most lists admit. Meanwhile there is a 300-Polychrome compensation mail sitting in many mailboxes with a hard claim deadline of 2026/10/09 23:59 (UTC+8), no code required.

What exactly is a ZZZ redeem code?

A redemption code in Zenless Zone Zero is a short alphanumeric string HoYoverse issues as a promotional gift. Most come from Special Program broadcasts, collaboration campaigns, or compensation payouts tied to a patch.

What they are not is a currency tap. Rewards are small and fixed — Polychrome in the tens, Denny in the thousands, occasional W-Engine materials. No code hands you an S-Rank Agent, and no generator produces working strings, because codes are issued centrally rather than derived from a pattern.

The mechanical detail that explains most failures: redemption is tracked per account and additionally capped in aggregate. Both limits can stop you.

How do you redeem a code on the Zenless Zone Zero website?

The web route is the one most guides show, and it is the faster of the two if you are at a desk:

  • Open the official Zenless Zone Zero redemption page on zenless.hoyoverse.com.
  • Sign in with the HoYoverse account your save is attached to — the one holding the Proxy, not a second account you made for the forums.
  • Select your server. This is the step people skip, and the one that silently breaks redemption.
  • Select the character (your Proxy) on that server.
  • Paste the code exactly as published and submit.

Step 3 is not cosmetic. The page submits your code to HoYoverse's redemption endpoint with both a game identifier and a region identifier — we probed that endpoint on October 2, 2026 and it accepts both parameters while returning a structured rejection, retcode -1071, "Please log in to your account first". The server your code is spent against is part of the request. Pick the wrong one and the code is checked against a save that is not yours.

The community wiki goes further: codes carry a server scope of their own, so a string circulating on social media can be structurally incapable of working on your account no matter how carefully you type it.

How do you redeem a code inside the game?

The in-game path avoids the server-selection problem entirely, because the game already knows which save you are on. It is slightly slower to reach:

  • Press the menu button to open the Main Menu.
  • Open More Features.
  • Select Redemption Code.
  • Enter the code and confirm.

Use this route on PlayStation, Xbox and mobile, and whenever a code has failed on the website — if the in-game attempt also rejects it, the problem is the code or your account, not the region picker.

It is also the only route documented as universal: the community wiki annotates the website path with a parenthetical restriction, "(For Global servers)", while the in-game path carries no such note. Off a Global server, the menu is not the slower option — it is the only one.

What level do you need before a ZZZ redeem code works?

Inter-Knot Level 5. Both redemption routes refuse to process a code below it.

This is the single most common reason a new player thinks the system is broken. Zenless Zone Zero shows several numbers that could reasonably be called "level" — Agents have levels, W-Engines have levels, and the account has its own track. The gate uses the account-wide one. The community wiki's redemption page states it bluntly, "Reach Inter-Knot Level 5 to unlock", and PCGamesN's walkthrough lists "Reach Inter-Knot Level 5" as step two, before you ever open the menu.

Inter-Knot Level caps at Level 60 across five named ranks: Novice Proxy 1 to 20, Certified Proxy 20 to 30, Senior Proxy 30 to 40, Elite Proxy 40 to 50, Legendary Proxy 50 to 60. Reaching Level 5 is an hour or two of story progress and pays for itself immediately — the Level 5 bundle alone is Master Tape ×2, Denny ×5,000, Official Investigator Log ×4 and W-Engine Power Supply ×4.

While you are there, finish the Main Story Prologue, which HoYoverse's Version 3.2 notice names as "The Hare and the Proxy". It is not a redemption requirement, but HoYoverse pairs it with Inter-Knot Lv. 5 as the entry condition for events repeatedly — the 3.2 notice prints the line "Reach Inter-Knot Lv. 5, complete the Main Story Prologue 'The Hare and the Proxy,' and unlock the Event feature" three separate times. Clear both and nothing in the reward economy is closed to you.

Which ZZZ codes can be verified right now?

Our standard, because this is where accuracy collapses: a code gets published only if it appears on one first-party source or on two genuinely independent third-party sources. Mirrors count as one. We never pattern-complete a string, and we never pad the table.

On October 2, 2026, exactly four strings clear that bar, cross-checked against the community wiki's active-codes container and PCGamesN's list updated October 1, 2026. Both list all four, and both record the same server scope — valid on all servers rather than Global-only.

CodeReward as recordedFirst recordedListed expiry
ZENLESSGIFTPolychrome ×50, Official Investigator Log ×2, W-Engine Power Supply ×3, Bangboo Algorithm Module ×12024-07-04Indefinite
ZZZINK32Polychrome ×20, Denny ×2,2222024-09-11Unknown
ZZZGRIND32Polychrome ×20, Denny ×2,2222024-09-10Unknown
ZZZVOID32Polychrome and Denny — amount disputed between sources2024-09-12Unknown

Now the part the lists leave out. Every one of those four strings was first recorded in 2024 — ZENLESSGIFT in the July 2024 launch window, the three ZZZ-prefixed codes at a September 2024 Special Program — and three of the four carry an expiry recorded only as "unknown". That is not the same as confirmed-working in October 2026, and we will not pretend otherwise: a code can only be proven live by consuming it, which destroys the test. What is honest to say is that two independent trackers still list them, nobody has recorded them expiring, and trying one costs ten seconds.

The wiki states the real risk in one line: "indefinite" does not mean "infinite"; a code can become unredeemable if it hits its max usage limit or if HoYoverse decides to revoke it.

ZZZVOID32 also carries a reward conflict — Polychrome ×20 with Denny ×2,222 on one source, 60 Polychrome and Denny on the other. Those cannot both be right, so we publish the string, flag the reward disputed, and deliberately print no "total Polychrome available today" figure. Any guide that sums that column is manufacturing a statistic out of two numbers it never reconciled.

For the running list — the one we refresh as new strings land rather than re-reporting weekly — see our Zenless Zone Zero codes hub.

Why did my ZZZ redeem code fail?

Codes fail for boring, specific reasons, in rough order of how often they bite:

  • You are below Inter-Knot Level 5. The gate is hard, and the error message does not always name it.
  • Wrong server selected on the website. The code is checked against a save that is not yours.
  • Already redeemed on this account. Each code is single-use per character, so a second attempt reads as a failure even though the first one worked.
  • The usage cap is exhausted. Codes carry a finite number of redemptions in aggregate, so one posted to a large audience can die within hours.
  • Server scope mismatch. A code's scope may not include your server.
  • Transcription error. A trailing space pasted from a tweet is a failure.
  • The code expired. Broadcast codes are usually live for about a day.
  • It was never real. Generated or "leaked" strings fail because codes are issued centrally and cannot be guessed.

If the in-game route rejects a code the website also rejected, stop retrying. Nothing about the attempt changes the outcome.

Where do the rewards go, and when do they disappear?

Not into your inventory. Into your in-game mail, and mail in Zenless Zone Zero has a clock on it.

HoYoverse states this directly in the Version 3.2 "Their Secret Histories" Update Announcement: "The dev team will issue the compensation via in-game mail after the update has been completed. The mail will expire after 30 days, so don't forget to claim the attachments."

Thirty days is the figure to hold onto. A code you redeemed and then forgot to open is a code you did not actually receive. Open the mailbox, claim the attachment, then verify the Polychrome actually moved — the redemption succeeding and the reward landing in your wallet are two separate events.

What else is in your mailbox before October 9?

This is the time-sensitive part of this guide, and it is worth more than every code in the table above.

Version 3.2 shipped with compensation payouts delivered as mail, not as codes: two separate Polychrome ×300 grants, one labelled Server Update Compensation and one labelled Issue Fix Compensation. Read the deadlines carefully, because they are not the same date:

  • Issue Fix Compensation, Polychrome ×300 — the notice says to claim it before 2026/10/09 23:59 (UTC+8). That is seven days from this article's publication.
  • Server Update Compensation, Polychrome ×300 — claimable until the end of Version 3.2, which the same notice dates to 2026/10/21 06:00 (UTC+8).

Both carry the same eligibility line: reach Inter-Knot Lv. 4 before 2026/09/09 06:00 (UTC+8). If you started playing after 3.2 went live, you do not qualify for either.

600 Polychrome, no code required, and the tighter deadline is a week out. Check the mailbox before hunting for strings on social media — it is worth more than the entire table above.

The wider calendar matters too, because code supply is cyclical rather than continuous. Version 3.2 runs 42 days and ends on 2026/10/21 at 06:00 (UTC+8), which is also when the next version begins — we broke that timeline down in our ZZZ 3.3 guide. The practical consequence: the next large batch of codes arrives with the Version 3.3 Special Program broadcast, roughly a week to ten days before the version launches, and those livestream codes are the ones with the shortest fuses. Set a reminder rather than refreshing a list.

How should you actually budget Polychrome around codes?

Honest framing: codes are rounding error. The four strings above, read generously, total well under a single ten-pull. Claim them because they are free, not because they move your pity count.

The levers that actually fund pulls are repeatable — events, Deadly Assault scoring, battle-pass progress, the daily and weekly commission loop. Our Polychrome farming guide covers where the real income sits; our pity system breakdown covers what it buys.

FAQ

Where do I enter a ZZZ redeem code? Two places. The official Zenless Zone Zero redemption page on zenless.hoyoverse.com, where you sign in and choose your server and character, or inside the game via Main Menu, then More Features, then Redemption Code. The in-game route works identically on PC, mobile and console.

Why does my valid ZZZ code say it failed? Most often because your Inter-Knot Level is below 5, because the website has the wrong server selected, or because the account already redeemed that code. Codes also carry an aggregate usage cap, so a widely shared code can be exhausted while still being listed as active.

Do I need to be level 5 to redeem codes in Zenless Zone Zero? Yes — Inter-Knot Level 5, which is the account-wide progression level, not an Agent level. It is roughly an hour or two of story progress from a fresh account, and the Level 5 bundle alone pays out Master Tape ×2 and Denny ×5,000.

How long do ZZZ codes last? It varies by campaign. Codes handed out during a Special Program broadcast are the shortest-lived and are usually gone within about a day. Promotional codes can run far longer — ZENLESSGIFT has been listed since July 2024 — but none are permanent: every code has a usage cap and can be revoked.

Where do code rewards appear? In your in-game mailbox, as a mail attachment you have to open and claim. HoYoverse's notices state that mail expires 30 days after delivery, so an unclaimed reward is eventually lost.

Can a code be redeemed twice? No. Redemption is single-use per character, so the second attempt will report a failure on an account that already used it successfully.

Are ZZZ code generators real? No. Codes are issued centrally by HoYoverse and cannot be computed from a pattern. Sites claiming to generate them are running surveys or harvesting credentials.

When is the next batch of ZZZ codes? The next reliable supply is the Version 3.3 Special Program broadcast. Version 3.2 ends 2026/10/21 at 06:00 (UTC+8), and Special Programs historically air roughly one to one and a half weeks before a version launch.
