Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov has not formally left Team Spirit: since 21 September he has been on the club's inactive list, and Bohdan "Batyuk" Batiuk has held the offlane. That was still the position on 2 November, a day after the new line-up won its first trophy by beating Team Yandex 3-0 in the PARI Universe grand final.
The title changes the debate, not the paperwork: no return date has been announced. Collapse did play on 31 October, alongside inactive coach Yaroslav "Miposhka" Naidenov, in a PARI Universe showmatch, but it was an exhibition and we found no statement from Spirit or the player calling it a comeback.

Did Collapse leave Team Spirit, and why?
Not in the sense of a release or a retirement. Spirit's 21 September statement described Collapse as "taking a break from the pro scene" and Miposhka as "taking a break from his career", and Liquipedia still lists both on its inactive roster. "Both departures were expected and had already been discussed during the season. There's no drama, human resources just aren't infinite," manager Dmitry "Korb3n" Belov said in that statement.
In an October podcast on the club's YouTube channel, Korb3n said they had discussed time off as early as December 2025, and that Spirit's first target as a replacement was Noticed, a transfer that did not happen.
Will Collapse return to Team Spirit?
Nobody has announced a date. In All Chat podcast remarks reported on 8 September, Collapse said he was looking for new motivation and might need five or six months away from competitive play, which would run to about late February or March 2027 if counted from the 21 September announcement. That arithmetic is ours, not his. In remarks reported the same day, he said he thought he would return to Spirit after the break. He also said a move to another team, which he considered during an earlier break, would be very hard.
On a return to Dota in general, Korb3n was quoted on 18 October saying Collapse "will definitely come back" (our translation from Russian). A return to Spirit's starting five is less certain. In remarks reported on 5 October he said it depends on Collapse, the timing and the team's results, and that if Collapse asked to return in March or April with things going well, he did not know what the club would do. Those months were an example. Results are one of the three factors he named, though he said a lot depends on timing, and the line-up now has a trophy. Asked on Twitch about a plan B, in remarks reported on 2 October, he said they did not need one for now, pointing to Batyuk's form.
How Batyuk's line-up has done
Spirit have lost only three series since their first match on 29 September, winning 14 of 17 across BLAST SLAM VIII and PARI Universe.
- BLAST SLAM VIII: runners-up in Malta for $135,000, beaten by Team Yandex 2-0 in the upper-bracket final and 3-1 in the 11 October grand final.
- PARI Universe: champions, taking $125,000 of the $250,000 pool ($80,000 to the players, $45,000 to the club). After four group series won and a 2-1 loss to OG on 28 October, Spirit beat LEGION, PARIVISION, Team Liquid and GamerLegion from the lower bracket.
Yatoro went 30/4/14 on Outworld Destroyer in the final's 72:55 second game, which Spirit won 61-43 on kills. Counting their SLAM VIII seeding win, the sweep levelled this line-up at 2-2 in series with Yandex and ended Yandex's run of two straight titles.
Support "not me" said after the final that Batyuk was "MVP, probably, of the tournament" and "top-1" at the event (our translation from Russian). Before the final, opinion was split: Yandex support Saksa said on 14 October that losing Collapse had not weakened Spirit, while analyst KingR had argued earlier that Spirit missed Collapse and that Batyuk was not yet at his predecessor's level.
Who is Batyuk?
Batyuk is a 22-year-old Ukrainian offlaner who joined from Yellow Submarine, where he arrived in March 2026 after leaving Passion UA in December 2025. He stood in for Collapse twice in spring 2026. Cyber.Sports.ru called PARI Universe his first win at a big tournament, and Illidan's first tournament win as a coach.
