PoE 2 Ascendancy Points: Which Trial Unlocks Points 2, 4, 6 & 8
Verified 2026-07-04 · patch 0.5.4b · Runes of Aldur league
PoE 2 grants 8 ascendancy points in four pairs: points 1–2 from your first Act 2 trial, 3–4 in Act 3, and 5–6 and 7–8 from endgame runs. Either trial alone can grant all 8 — the Trial of the Sekhemas (opened with a Barya) and the Trial of Chaos (opened with an Inscribed Ultimatum) are interchangeable. The exact requirement for each pair is below.
Ascendancy points table (0.5.4b)

| 3 & 4 | Act 3 | Campaign Trial of the Sekhemas run | Clear 7 rooms |
| 5 & 6 | Endgame | Level 60+ Djinn Barya — clear 3 floors | Clear 10 rooms |
| 7 & 8 | Endgame | Level 75+ Djinn Barya — 4 floors + defeat Zarokh, the Temporal | 10 rooms + 3 fate fragments + defeat The Trialmaster |
Fate fragments for the Trialmaster fight: Cowardly Fate (Uxmal, The Beastlord) · Deadly Fate (Bahlak, The Sky Seer) · Victorious Fate (Chetza, The Feathered Plague).

Trial of Chaos
Affliction waves (Ultimatum-style). Final boss: The Trialmaster. Opened with: Inscribed Ultimatum.
Can’t beat Zarokh or the Trialmaster?
Points 7 & 8 are the hardest content most builds touch before pinnacles. A Timesaver pro runs the trial on your character — all 8 points, usually same day.
Ascendancy trial carry →FAQ
- How many ascendancy points can you get in PoE 2?
- 8 in total, earned in pairs: points 1–2 from your first trial in Act 2, 3–4 in Act 3, and 5–6 and 7–8 from endgame trials. Either the Trial of the Sekhemas or the Trial of Chaos alone can grant all 8.
- How do I get ascendancy points 5 and 6 in PoE 2?
- Run an endgame trial: Trial of the Sekhemas with a level 60+ Djinn Barya clearing 3 floors, or a Trial of Chaos clearing 10 rooms. Both award the same two points — pick whichever trial suits your build.
- How do I get ascendancy points 7 and 8 in PoE 2?
- Trial of the Sekhemas: use a level 75+ Djinn Barya, clear all 4 floors and defeat Zarokh, the Temporal. Trial of Chaos: clear 10 rooms, then use the 3 fate fragments (Cowardly, Deadly and Victorious Fate) to fight and defeat The Trialmaster.
- What items do you need to open ascendancy trials in PoE 2?
- Trial of the Sekhemas is opened with a Barya (Djinn Barya for endgame runs — the coin’s area level sets the difficulty). Trial of Chaos is opened with an Inscribed Ultimatum.
- Which is easier for ascendancy points — Sekhemas or Chaos?
- Both trials grant the same points, so run whichever fits your build: Trial of the Sekhemas is an honour/relic gauntlet that favors ranged and fast builds, while the Trial of Chaos is wave-based combat that tanky melee builds usually find more forgiving.
