Battlefield 6 Season 5 Phase 2: Casino Heist Release Date, NSW4 and Every Change

Battlefield 6 Season 5 Phase 2, the Casino Heist update, arrives on November 10, 2026. It adds one infantry-only map, one limited-time event, three pieces of new hardware and a set of weapon changes, the first EA has announced since Season 5 launched on October 13. The change most players will feel on day one is a nerf: the extended magazines on the SCW-10 and KV9 are getting handling penalties.

This guide covers everything EA has confirmed for Phase 2 as of November 3, 2026, based on EA's community update "High Stakes in the Casino" (published November 2) and the Season 5 roadmap. The current live build is still Game Update 2.1.1.0. EA says it will publish full Update Notes "prior to the upcoming patch", so exact numbers for the weapon changes are not out yet, and we mark every gap below.

Quick answer: Phase 2 goes live on November 10, 2026. It brings the European Casino map (infantry-only, multiplayer only), the Casino Heist event with a currency called DOUGH, the NSW4 Carbine, the ADS-17 6GHz Signal Jammer, the M142 MRAS truck, SCW-10 and KV9 extended magazine handling penalties, buffs to overlooked attachments, more magazine options, Multiplayer Leaderboards and proximity chat in Rapid Royale. Phase 3, Frozen Aces, follows on December 8.

When does Battlefield 6 Season 5 Phase 2 come out?

November 10, 2026. EA's community update opens with it: "Season 5 Phase 2 arrives on November 10, expanding the battlefield with a new infantry-only map, a limited-time event called Casino Heist, new tactical hardware, and changes to weapons." The same date has been on the Season 5 roadmap since October 9.

EA has not published a launch hour. Battlefield updates usually go live with a short maintenance window, so check our server status guide on the day if matchmaking fails.

Season 5 runs in three phases:

PhaseNameStart dateHeadline content
Phase 1Siege of Las VegasOctober 13, 2026Vegas Strip, Area 51, Rapid Royale, Mk 24, RSPR, Z84M, ELR-40
Phase 2Casino HeistNovember 10, 2026European Casino, Casino Heist event, NSW4, ADS-17 6GHz, M142 MRAS
Phase 3Frozen AcesDecember 8, 2026Operation High Roller, Platoons, Server Browser, MK 1 MOD 0, Karambit Knife, B-81 Cavalry

One timing detail matters if you are still grinding the Halloween crossover. EA's October 21 update says the Battlefield x Dead Space: Convergence event "runs until November 10", so it ends on the day Casino Heist starts. Finish those rewards this week.

What is in the Casino Heist update?

EA lists four groups of content. Here is all of it in one place:

The roadmap also lists the REDSEC Elite Series under Casino Heist. EA has not explained it further in the November 2 update.

What is the European Casino map?

The European Casino is the third new map of Season 5, after Vegas Strip and Area 51 at launch (Phase 3 brings back Blackwell Fields and New Sobek City as updated maps). EA describes it as "a nighttime, infantry-only combat zone set inside a large, European-style resort", and places it on the Las Vegas Strip.

Three things EA has confirmed about how it plays:

  • No vehicles. It is infantry-only, so it will play closer to the close-range maps than to Vegas Strip or Area 51.
  • Heavy destruction. "Blow through breakable walls to carve out flank paths", and "the massive center tower can come crashing down to permanently change the flow of the map."
  • Metro-style flow. EA compares it directly: "Players who love the tight, back-and-forth infantry combat of maps like Operation Metro will find a similar flow here."

It is not coming to REDSEC. EA's footnote reads: "European Casino map & certain content not available in REDSEC."

For loadouts, an infantry-only Metro-style map rewards SMGs, shotguns and short-barrel carbines. Our best SMG ranking and best shotgun guide are the places to start, but read the next section first, because the two strongest close-range SMG setups are about to change.

Are the SCW-10 and KV9 getting nerfed in Phase 2?

Yes, but only their extended magazines. EA's wording: "High-capacity extended magazines on the SCW-10 and KV9 are receiving handling penalties. Equipping extended magazines should involve a clear trade-off between sustained firing capacity and immediate weapon agility."

That is a handling change, not a damage change. Nothing EA has written touches the guns' damage, fire rate or base magazines, so this is not a general SMG nerf.

Why these two guns? They have the fastest close-range kill times in the SMG class. On our own calculation from per-band damage data (chest hits, no armor, no bullet travel), the SCW-10 kills fastest of every SMG at 5 m, about 150 ms, and the KV9 kills fastest at 15, 30, 50 and 80 m, about 222 ms at 15 m. The extended mag lets them chain those kills without reloading. EA says it is targeting "high pick-rate configurations", and we have not seen EA publish pick-rate data.

What "handling penalties" means in numbers is not public yet. Expect some mix of slower aim-down-sights time, slower reload or slower sprint-to-fire, but treat that as our expectation until the Update Notes appear. If you run either gun with the extended magazine today, the practical move is to try the standard magazine now and see whether the lost capacity hurts you on the maps you play.

There is also a cost question: the extended mags still take Attachment Points from your loadout budget, and EA has not said whether those point costs will change. Our attachments and points cost guide explains how the budget works today.

What other weapon changes are coming?

EA lists three more weapon items. None has numbers yet:

  • More magazine options. "Additional magazine capacities and feeding options are being introduced across multiple weapon types," including "some LMGs, Shotguns, and more."
  • Underused attachment buffs. EA names the Flared Magwell and Frangible Ammo and says "and more".
  • M44 optics, in testing. EA is "testing some highly requested, custom optic attachments for the M44", joking about putting "an 8x scope on a hand-cannon for the memes". In testing is not confirmed for November 10.

What EA did not say matters too. No line in the update mentions the four Season 5 launch weapons, the Mk 24, RSPR, Z84M and ELR-40, so do not expect changes to them from this announcement. Our Season 5 new weapons guide covers those four.

What is the NSW4 Carbine?

The NSW4 is the only new gun in Phase 2. EA's description: it "offers rapid handling and comes equipped with subsonic rounds by default, alongside a unique Supersonic ammo option."

Two takeaways from that one sentence:

  • Subsonic by default means it is built for close range on maps like the European Casino. Subsonic ammo is slower, so long shots need more lead.
  • Supersonic as an option is the counterweight for players who want a faster round at range.

EA has not published the NSW4's damage, fire rate, magazine size or unlock route, so do not assume it is a Battle Pass item until EA says so. We will add its unlock path to our weapon unlock guide when it is public. Until then, compare it with the current options in our best carbine ranking.

How does the Casino Heist event work?

Casino Heist is a limited-time event that runs "across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC". The loop EA describes has four steps:

  • Defeated enemies drop Contracts. Each Contract is an extra objective for the match.
  • Complete the objective. EA's examples are "capturing points and reviving teammates to exploring the European Casino map."
  • Earn DOUGH. That is the event currency.
  • Spend DOUGH on cosmetics: "weapon packages, vehicles skins, and an all-new Heist Mask soldier skins."

Claim every standard item on the reward track and you unlock "one final challenge for a bonus completion reward."

Some Contracts point at the European Casino map, and that map is not in REDSEC. If you only play Battle Royale, plan on some objectives being easier in multiplayer. EA says to "keep an eye out for our dedicated Event Guide for the full breakdown." EA has not published the DOUGH prices or the event end date yet, so do not trust any end date you see before then.

What are the ADS-17 6GHz Signal Jammer and the M142 MRAS?

ADS-17 6GHz (Signal Jammer). A deployable gadget that "jams enemy radars and drastically reduces the range at which opposing players can share active spotting information." It is a defensive tool. Expect it on objectives you are holding, especially against squads that rely on spotting. EA has not said which class gets it.

M142 MRAS. "A highly mobile truck that provides devastating indirect fire on a fast, flexible platform." It will not appear on the European Casino because that map has no vehicles. On the vehicle maps it adds a long-range threat. EA also says it is "tracking vehicle survival times, engagement win rates, and armor turnover across all game modes before deciding on further tuning", so EA has not announced any further vehicle tuning for this update.

What are Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Leaderboards?

Leaderboards were first planned for Season 5's opening phase and are now in Phase 2. EA says you will be able to browse "across dedicated tabs for Career, Game Modes, and Classes."

The details EA has confirmed:

  • Seasonal. A Seasonal Filter lets you compare standings "from Season 5 onward".
  • Sticky Player Row. Your own row stays visible "even if you are still working your way up toward the top ranks."
  • Multiplayer only. These are Multiplayer Leaderboards.

Leaderboards are not Ranked multiplayer. Battlefield 6 still has no Ranked multiplayer playlist; the live competitive queue is REDSEC Ranked Battle Royale, covered in our Ranked guide. EA has not said exactly which stats each tab ranks. Because the Seasonal Filter starts at Season 5, we expect progress from earlier in this season to count, but EA has not confirmed that.

What changes in REDSEC?

Two items:

  • Proximity chat in Rapid Royale. EA: "We will be adding proximity chat into Rapid Royale for this upcoming patch."
  • Clearer Battle Royale missions. "Clearer timers, better indicators, and more obvious notifications for objectives."

What did EA leave out?

Things players asked about that are not in the November 2 update:

  • Matchmaking problems. The update has no line about matchmaking. EA says only that Season 5 hotfixes addressed "early stability issues, combat bugs, and server inconsistencies."
  • Server Browser. Still Phase 3, December 8, along with Platoons.
  • A Season 5 end date. EA has not published one. Season 6 is only described as "2027". Our Season 6 release date guide tracks the estimate.
  • Exact balance numbers. Coming in the Update Notes before the patch.

How to prepare for November 10

  • Finish Convergence rewards first. The Dead Space event runs until November 10.
  • Test your SMG without the extended mag if you rely on the SCW-10 or KV9.
  • Level your close-range guns now. An infantry-only map rewards SMGs, shotguns and carbines, and attachments unlock with weapon level.
  • Check your Career stats. Leaderboards get a Career tab, and the Seasonal Filter starts at Season 5.

Want your guns ready before the Casino opens? Our boosters level supported Battlefield 6 weapons and Career Rank on your account, so you can spend Phase 2 on the new map instead of grinding attachments. Weapon Leveling covers older guns only, not the NSW4 or the Season 4 and 5 weapons.
