Gas is the fruit that quietly sits in almost every "best Blox Fruits" conversation without ever being the headline. It is a Mythical Elemental-type fruit that combines two things nothing else in its class has: physical-attack immunity through Elemental Reflex, and a full transformation into a giant Gas Knight. That mix makes it one of the most versatile fruits in the game: it grinds, it raids, it handles Sea Events and it holds up in PvP.
This guide covers what you need to know before you spend 3,200,000 Beli or 2,500 Robux on it: every move in both forms, how the Gas Meter actually fills, the combos worth learning, the recent buffs and nerfs, and what Gas trades for right now.
Quick answer: Gas is a Mythical Elemental fruit added in Update 24 that costs 3,200,000 Beli or 2,500 Robux from the Blox Fruit Dealer. It has no awakening. You get a transformation (V at 300 mastery) instead, which gives 50% damage reduction, a 33% speed boost and water-walking. Its core combo is Z Suffocating Fumes into X Bursting Vapor: the beam explodes when it passes through the fumes. Community trackers put it at about 72M physical / 1.43B permanent (TradeKitsune, pulled Oct 18, 2026), and it is one of the most actively traded perms in the game.
All mechanics below are checked against the Blox Fruits Fandom wiki Gas page (pulled Oct 18, 2026). Blox Fruits had 241,694 concurrent players on the Roblox Games API when we checked (universe 994732206, pulled Oct 18, 2026 13:26 UTC, last updated Oct 11, 2026). Gas works the same on the current Update 30 "Magnet" build. Its last balance changes came in Update 29.6.

What is the Gas fruit in Blox Fruits?
Gas is a Mythical Elemental-type Blox Fruit that released in Update 24 (December 2024). Its in-game Shop description reads, verbatim (wiki): "Allows the user to exhale clouds of explosive gas and transform into a powerful gaseous knight."
A few facts set it apart from the rest of the roster:
- It is the first and only Elemental fruit with a transformation, and the fourth non-Beast fruit to get one (after Venom, Rubber and Diamond).
- It is only the second Mythical Elemental, after Dough.
- It is the most expensive Elemental fruit on the Dealer.
- It is the only Elemental fruit with a power meter, the Gas Meter.
That last point matters most. Every Gas decision comes down to the meter: when to transform, how long you can stay transformed, and when to drop back to base form.
How much does Gas cost and how do you get it?
| Physical | Permanent | |
|---|---|---|
| How you get it | Spawns, gacha, trades | Dealer: 2,500 Robux |
| Dealer Beli price (equips instantly) | 3,200,000 Beli | — |
| Community trade value (TradeKitsune, Oct 18, 2026) | ~72M | ~1.43B |
| Rarity / type | Mythical / Elemental | Mythical / Elemental |
Buying Gas from the Dealer with Beli (3,200,000) equips the power immediately. It replaces your current fruit and does not give you a physical fruit you can store or trade. A physical Gas fruit (the tradeable, storable item) comes from fruit spawns, the gacha or trades, and is consumed when you eat it. Permanent Gas is bought with 2,500 Robux and stays on your account, so you can switch away and come back without losing it.
As with every Mythical, the hard part is not the Beli price. It is catching Gas in stock. That is why most players end up trading for it.
How does the Gas Meter work?
The Gas Meter works like the Fury Meter on Beast fruits. Here is how it behaves:
- It fills passively, and faster when you deal damage to NPCs or players.
- In base form you never lose meter. You can bank a full meter and save it.
- Once the meter is full you can transform with V.
- While transformed, the meter drains passively. It drains faster when you take damage, use any attack (including M1s) or walk on water.
The hard numbers from the wiki:
- 5 minutes 30 seconds to fill the meter from empty without dealing damage.
- 3 minutes 12 seconds with the Kitsune Mask equipped. If you transform a lot, this is the biggest single upgrade you can make.
- About 10 minutes of transformation (a full in-game day cycle) if you deal no damage at all. In real fights it lasts much less.
- The meter takes about as long as Kitsune's Tail meter to fill, roughly three normal Fury Meters.
Update 26.8 raised Gas Meter gain by 25%, which is a big reason Gas went from "fun" to "meta".
What do the Gas passives do?
Gas has three passives, and they are what keep it in the top tier:
- Elemental Reflex. You turn into purple gas and smog, so physical attacks from players (fighting styles, swords, guns) can't hurt you unless they are imbued with Aura. Unlike most transformations, this immunity also works while you are a Gas Knight. Against NPCs it only applies if you are a certain level above them, and it never works against bosses.
- Condensed Vapor (transformed only). 50% damage reduction, a 33% speed increase, double jump height, double dash distance, double movement speed, and the ability to stand and walk on water, much like awakened Buddha.
- Gas Meter. Covered above. It controls your transformation uptime.
What are all the Gas fruit moves?
Gas has two complete movesets: base form and Gas Knight form. The mastery unlock is the same for both.
Base form moves
| Key | Move | Mastery | Cooldown | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| TAP | Suffocating Slashes | — | — | Gas-sword combo. Hits 3–4 pull enemies in, and the final blue blast knocks them away |
| Z | Suffocating Fumes | 1 | 9s | Dash forward in fumes. If you catch someone, you grab and slash through them for big damage |
| F | Traveling Gas | 50 | 8s | Turn your legs to gas and fly. Aim at an enemy at the start to launch into them |
| X | Bursting Vapor | 100 | 12s | Rotating cage of gas rings that grabs and suffocates, then explodes |
| C | Smog Demons | 200 | 15s | Tap to fire smog demons in two waves for poison damage over time. Hold to summon more |
| V | Vapor Condensation | 300 | 6s | Gas vortex that pulls enemies in as you transform into the Gas Knight |
Gas Knight (transformed) moves
| Key | Move | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| TAP | Suffocating Slashes | Heavier sword chain ending in a big explosion. Each slash costs meter, and it can stun-lock enemies against a wall |
| Z | Suffocating Fumes | Long-range fume field that does tick damage, disables dashing, jumping and abilities, blurs the victim's screen and heals you a little |
| X | Bursting Vapor | Huge gas beam swept left into a large explosion. Explodes harder if it passes through your Z fumes |
| C | Smog Demons | Same idea as base form, with more range and a faster charge (buffed in 29.6) |
| F | Traveling Gas | Lunge that pulls a nearby enemy onto your sword and knocks them far back |
| V | Vapor Condensation | Return to base form so you can use fighting styles, swords and guns again |
One warning the wiki repeats: pressing V again in the ocean drops you out of water-walking. Don't untransform over open sea.
What are the best Gas fruit combos?
The wiki doesn't publish official combos, but the moveset has some interactions built in. These are the sequences that use them:
- Fumes → Beam (transformed, core combo). Cast Z Suffocating Fumes on the target. Fumes can't be dodged, break Instinct and lock out dashing and jumping. Then sweep X Bursting Vapor through the cloud. When the beam passes through the fumes it explodes for extra AoE damage. This is the combo the whole Gas Knight kit is built around.
- Fumes → Smog Demons (transformed). If the target has already left the fume field or the effect has ended, follow up with a held C Smog Demons. The tick damage stops abilities from charging and drains Instinct, so they can't get away clean.
- Gas X + Cursed Dual Katana (base form). The wiki lists Gas X as pairing well with the Cursed Dual Katana's held Z. The X cage holds the target in place while you channel the sword move.
- Wall M1 lock (PvE). Transformed, back an enemy into a tall wall and keep up the M1 chain. Gas can infinitely stun Terrorsharks and tough bosses like Cake Queen this way. It is one of the most reliable sea-hunting tricks in the game.
- Opener: F → Z (base form). Use F Traveling Gas to close the gap. Aim at the enemy at the very start of the flight to lunge into them, then follow with Z before they recover.
Since Update 29, transformed X no longer goes through walls or buildings, so beam combos need line of sight now.

Has Gas been buffed or nerfed?
Patch history explains why Gas moved up the trade boards. From the wiki's change log:
- Update 24: Gas released.
- Update 26.8 (buff): Gas Meter gain +25%, transformed TAP hitbox +15%, transformed damage reduction 42.5% → 50%.
- Update 29 (nerf): transformed X can no longer go through walls or buildings.
- Update 29.6 (buff): transformed C deals 30% more damage with a 30% shorter charge time, and transformed Z hitbox +15%.
That is two buff updates (26.8 and 29.6) and one nerf (29). The wiki change log lists nothing for Gas after 29.6.
Is Gas good? PvP, grinding, raids and Sea Events
Grinding: very good. The wiki calls it a "great fruit for grinding as it has Elemental Reflex and has a good M1". Physical immunity against lower-level NPCs means you take far less damage while farming. The base-form moves lack AoE, though. Only C has real range until you transform. For a full ranking, see our Blox Fruits best grinding fruits tier list.
Raids: top tier. Gas is regarded as one of the best raid fruits, with a caveat: careless M1s knock enemies away and can slow a raid down. Use abilities to group targets and M1 against walls.
Sea Events: excellent. Water-walking while transformed, the Terrorshark stun-lock, and Smog Demons that home in on a Sea Beast's hitbox below the chin make Gas a strong pick for sea hunting.
PvP: strong, but beatable. Elemental Reflex shuts down players without Aura. The Z fume field punishes slow fruits like Dragon that stand still to aim. On the other hand, the wiki notes that base-form Gas attacks can be instinct-tricked (transformed Z fumes are the exception and can't be dodged with Instinct), the giant transformed body is easy to hit, and the particles can lag older devices.
Travel: weak. Flight is slow and Gas has no travel speed buff in base form, so moving between islands is a chore.
| Use case | Rating | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Grinding | A | Elemental Reflex + strong M1; base AoE is limited |
| Raids | S | Top-rated raid fruit if M1 knockback is managed |
| Sea Events | S | Water-walking, Terrorshark lock, homing demons |
| PvP | A | Physical immunity + fume lockout; instinct-trickable |
| Travel | C | Slow flight, no speed buff in base form |
What is Gas worth in trading? (October 2026)
Gas holds value because people actually use it. On TradeKitsune (pulled Oct 18, 2026):
- Physical value: ~72M, ranked #42 of 82 items on the trade-value leaderboard.
- Permanent value: ~1.43B.
- 7,431 active trade offers and 6,649 players looking for it. Supply and demand are close, and the market reads as stable.
Our October trading tier list put permanent Gas at around 1.61B, so trackers disagree by roughly 10–15% depending on the day and the site. These are community estimates, not official values. Check two trackers before you accept a trade. Gas has been one of the hottest perm trades all autumn, next to Kitsune, Tiger, Buddha and Yeti, so you can usually trade into or out of it at a fair price. For the full market, see our Blox Fruits value list.
If you're trading in-game, remember the Treasure Trade window rejects offers where the two sides differ too much in value. Keep offers close, and read the Blox Fruits trading guide for common scam patterns.
Gas vs Dough, Control and Buddha: which is better?
- Gas vs Dough: Both are Mythical Elementals. Dough has an awakening and very high PvP combo damage. Gas has a transformation, water-walking and better Sea Event use. Pick Dough for pure PvP, Gas for all-round use.
- Gas vs Control: Control costs much more (9,000,000 Beli / 4,000 Robux) and has a steep mastery curve. Gas is cheaper, easier to learn and grinds better. See our Control fruit guide.
- Gas vs Buddha: Buddha is still the safer pure grinder. Gas beats it in Sea Events and PvP, and community trackers currently value permanent Gas above permanent Buddha.

FAQ
How much does the Gas fruit cost in Blox Fruits? Gas costs 3,200,000 Beli or 2,500 Robux from the Blox Fruit Dealer. Buying with Beli equips the power right away and does not give you a tradeable fruit. Buying with Robux gives you the permanent version, which stays on your account. Physical Gas fruits for trading come from spawns, the gacha and trades.
Does Gas have an awakening in Blox Fruits? No. Gas is one of three Elemental fruits without an awakening, along with Smoke and Blizzard. You get the Gas Knight transformation instead, unlocked at 300 mastery on V.
How long does the Gas transformation last? It depends on the Gas Meter. From empty, the meter takes about 5 minutes 30 seconds to fill passively (about 3 minutes 12 seconds with the Kitsune Mask). Transformed, it drains over time and faster when you attack, take damage or walk on water. Without dealing damage it can last about 10 minutes.
Is Gas better than Dough? Neither is strictly better. Dough is the stronger PvP combo fruit thanks to its awakening. Gas is more versatile, with physical immunity, water-walking, and top-tier raid and Sea Event performance. Their permanent trade values are currently close (roughly 1.4–1.6B each on community trackers).
What is Gas worth in trading right now? As of October 18, 2026, TradeKitsune lists Gas at about 72M physical and 1.43B permanent, with roughly 7,400 active offers. Other trackers put the permanent version closer to 1.6B. Values are community estimates and change week to week.
Can Gas be hit by swords and guns? Not unless the attacker uses Aura. Elemental Reflex makes you immune to physical attacks (fighting styles, swords, guns) that aren't Aura-imbued, and unlike most transformations it still works as the Gas Knight. Against NPCs you need to be a certain level above them, and it never works on bosses.
