How to Unlock Everything in Black Ops 7 (Season 5): The Fastest Path to Unlock All Weapons, Camos & Operators

Black Ops 7 Season 5 Battle Pass rewards — new weapons, Operators and BlackCell shown in the progression menu

Quick answer (TLDR): There is no single button that unlocks everything in Black Ops 7 — "unlocking all" means clearing four separate tracks: weapons (Military Level + the Armory), camos (Military → Special → Mastery), Operators (Battle Pass, Store, and challenges), and your rank/Prestige climb to the Level 1000 cap. Nothing in Season 5 is permanently missable — anything you skip drops into the Armory later. The fastest route is to run double-XP windows in objective modes (or easy lobbies), buy the Battle Pass for the free-and-paid weapon tiers, and chip camo challenges while you level. Below is the exact order to do it in.

Black Ops 7 has one of the deepest progression systems Treyarch has ever shipped — and in Season 5 (live July 23 – September 17, 2026) the "unlock everything" grind is bigger than ever. Between a Level 1000 max cap, ten Prestiges, 16 Mastery Camos, four new seasonal weapons, and a growing Operator roster, it is genuinely easy to lose track of what you own, what you missed, and what still has to be earned.

This guide maps the whole thing. We break down every unlock track, the exact mechanics behind each (fact-checked against Call of Duty's official progression docs), what carries over when you Prestige, and the fastest realistic path to a fully-unlocked account. Everything here is verified against callofduty.com and support.activision.com.

What does "unlock everything" actually mean in Black Ops 7?

"Unlock all" isn't one system — it's four parallel tracks, and they unlock in different ways:

TrackHow it unlocksCeiling
WeaponsMilitary Level (base guns) + Battle Pass/events (seasonal) + Armory (missed items)Every base + seasonal weapon
CamosPer-weapon challenges: Military → Special → Mastery16 Mastery Camos (4 per mode)
OperatorsBattle Pass, Store bundles, and in-game challengesFull seasonal roster
Rank / PrestigeXP → Level 55 → 10 Prestiges → Prestige MasterLevel 1000

The important mental model: you never truly "finish." Each new season adds weapons, Operators, and camo challenges. When people say "unlock all," they almost always mean one of three things — unlock every weapon, unlock all mastery camos, or hit max rank (Level 1000). We'll cover all three.

How do you unlock all weapons in Black Ops 7?

Weapons come from three places, and understanding which is which saves you from grinding the wrong thing:

  • Base weapons unlock automatically as your Military Level climbs. Keep playing any mode and the core arsenal fills in on its own.
  • Seasonal weapons unlock during their season, mostly through the Battle Pass or limited-time events. Season 5 added four: the FG42 Assault Rifle and dual-wield Gremlin SMGs (via the free Battle Pass tiers), plus the Mammoth LMG (a limited-time event weapon) and the Mace melee arriving later in the season.
  • The Armory is the safety net. Miss a weapon's unlock window and it doesn't vanish — it moves to the Armory, where you complete an unlock challenge to claim it.

That last point is the one players panic about most. Per GameSpot's Season 5 weapons breakdown: "If you miss the unlock window for any weapon on this list, it will be added to the Armory section of the Black Ops 7 and Warzone menus." Nothing is permanently missable — so don't burn real money rushing a Battle Pass if you'd rather earn it later.

If you're specifically trying to catch up on older or missed guns fast, our BO7 Armory unlocks guide walks through exactly how the Armory challenges work, and the Season 5 new weapons guide covers the FG42, Gremlin, Mammoth and Mace unlock paths step by step.

How do you unlock all camos in Black Ops 7?

Camos are the biggest single time-sink in the game, and they follow a strict tier order per weapon:

  • Military camos — the base tier. Simple challenges (kills, headshots) unlocked as you use the gun.
  • Special camos — three weapon-specific challenges tied to the gun's playstyle. These can be done in any order and often stack, so you can chip multiple at once.
  • Mastery camos — the prestige tier. You can't touch these until Military and Special are complete for that weapon.

There are 16 Mastery Camos in total — four per mode (Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, Campaign). Each weapon gates them behind 9 Military + 3 Special challenges first, and on 30 weapons the top tier unlocks automatically once you've cleared the previous one (the reactive camos). In Multiplayer the ladder runs Shattered Gold → Arclight → Tempest → Singularity (Singularity is BO7's Dark Matter equivalent). Because every weapon has its own set, the true "unlock all camos" count balloons into the hundreds of individual challenges — PC Gamer clocked it at 136 Mastery Camos across the game.

ModeMastery ladder (in order)
MultiplayerShattered Gold → Arclight → Tempest → Singularity
WarzoneGolden Damascus → Starglass → Absolute Zero → Apocalypse
ZombiesGolden Dragon → Bloodstone → Doomsteel → Infestation
CampaignMolten Gold → Moonstone → Chroma Flux → Genesis

For the full Multiplayer grind, see How to unlock Shattered Gold and the complete BO7 Mastery Camos guide, which lists all 16 and the challenge for each.

How do you unlock all Operators?

Operators don't come from leveling — they come from three sources:

  • Battle Pass — each season's pass includes new Operators or Operator skins on specific tiers.
  • Store bundles — premium Operators are sold in the Store for COD Points.
  • Challenges / events — some Operators (and Echo/variant skins) are earned through limited-time event challenges.

Because a chunk of the roster is paid, "unlock all Operators" is partly a spending question, not just a grind. The good news: base Operators are never relocked, even through Prestige (more on that below). If you're chasing Operator prestige rewards specifically, our BO7 endgame Operator Prestige guide breaks down how that separate track works.

What happens to your unlocks when you Prestige?

Black Ops 7 Prestige 1 menu showing the Permanent Unlock feature and instant rewards

This is the single most misunderstood part of "unlock everything," and getting it wrong costs people hours. When you hit Level 55 you can choose to Prestige — and Prestiging relocks most Level Unlocks. Straight from Activision's official progression doc:

"All Level Unlocks will be relocked and must be unlocked again, except for Base Operators, Emotes, Zombies GobbleGums, and anything you Permanently Unlock."

But — and this is the part that matters for camo hunters — the following do NOT reset when you Prestige:

  • Weapon Progression, Camos, and Reticles (your camos are safe forever)
  • Weapon Builds (saved, even if the gun temporarily relocks)
  • Challenge Progress and Unlocks
  • Store and Battle Pass Content
  • Operator and Emote Unlocks
  • Zombies GobbleGums

So your Mastery camo grind is never wasted by Prestiging. What relocks is the loadout item pool (perks, wildcards, attachments) tied to your Military Level — which you re-earn as you climb again. Each Prestige also grants one Permanent Unlock (10 total across all Prestiges) to instantly free any single Level Unlock you don't want to wait for. Full detail in our Season 5 Prestige-reset guide.

The max ceiling: reach Level 55, Prestige 10 times, then enter Prestige Master, which extends the cap all the way to Level 1000. That's the real "unlocked everything" endgame — and, per the official progression blog, most players never reach it.

What's the fastest way to unlock everything in Season 5?

Here's the efficient order most players should follow instead of grinding blind:

  • Buy and progress the Battle Pass early — it's the cheapest way to grab the FG42 and Gremlin now and bank Mammoth/Mace when Reloaded drops. Skipping it just pushes those guns to the Armory later.
  • Farm XP in double-XP windows. Objective modes (Hardpoint, Domination) and high-kill Zombies rounds pay the most XP per minute. Our fastest XP guide has the exact mode-by-mode rates.
  • Stack camo challenges while you level. Special camo challenges often overlap — run a weapon until its Special tier is done, then flip to Mastery. Don't split focus across 10 guns at once.
  • Use the Armory as a checklist, not a panic button. Anything you missed is claimable there. Clear those challenges between seasons when demand for new content is low.
  • Decide your Prestige timing. Prestige when you've unlocked the loadout items you actually use, and spend Permanent Unlocks on late-level perks/wildcards you don't want to re-grind.

Realistically, a full "unlock everything" run — every weapon, all 16 Mastery camos, and Level 1000 — is hundreds of hours of play. That's why a lot of players offload the grind.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you unlock everything in Black Ops 7 for free? Yes for the vast majority of it — base weapons, all camos (including Mastery), rank, and Prestige are all earned by playing. The exceptions are premium Operators and skins sold in the Store, and the paid Battle Pass tiers. Everything gameplay-related is free; some cosmetics cost COD Points.

Are any weapons permanently missable in Season 5? No. If you don't unlock a seasonal weapon during its window, it moves to the Armory, where you can claim it later by completing an unlock challenge. Nothing is lost forever.

Do your camos reset when you Prestige in Black Ops 7? No. Weapon Progression, Camos, and Reticles all carry over through every Prestige. Only your Military Level Unlocks (perks, wildcards, attachments) relock and must be re-earned — your camo grind is permanent.

What is the max level in Black Ops 7? Level 1000. You cap the base rank at Level 55, then Prestige 10 times to enter Prestige Master, which extends the cap to 1000. See our full Level 1000 breakdown for how long it takes.

How many Mastery Camos are there in Black Ops 7? There are 16 Mastery Camos overall — four for each mode (Multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, Campaign) — but because each weapon has its own challenge set, the total number of individual Mastery unlocks across all guns is 136.

What's the fastest way to unlock all weapons? Buy the Battle Pass for the current seasonal guns, level your Military rank in double-XP objective modes for the base arsenal, and clear Armory challenges for anything you missed. Easy lobbies dramatically speed up the XP-per-match rate.
