Last checked: October 31, 2026, about four hours after the broadcast. Primary source: the official Brawl Talk video on Brawl Stars' YouTube channel (transcript and on-screen text). Supercell hadn't published written release notes when we checked, so details marked as podcast or tracker claims come from BrawlQR's Brawl Talk hub and its Ranked breakdown.
Supercell's video description promised "3 New Brawlers (or is it 5?)", and that joke is the whole headline: one of the new Brawlers is three frogs. The 12-minute show had passed 2.3 million YouTube views within four hours. Here is everything it announced, what's confirmed, and what you should do before the update lands.
Quick answer (TLDR): The October 31, 2026 Brawl Talk revealed 3 new Brawlers: Thunder Frogs (Legendary Artillery, November) and Rey & Ruby (December, and you can pick one for free during Brawlidays). It also showed a Ranked rework (new pick and ban screen, more points for a 2–0, Power 11 only, free maxed Brawlers up from 3 to 6), 6 new Buffies, Hypercharges for Cosmo and Vince, the Brawl Vice and Brawlidays skin lines, and new modes including 20-Player Showdown. Supercell gave no exact update date in the video. Season 56 is due November 5. A free Pin is live now through the official Freebie link.

What do Thunder Frogs do?
Thunder Frogs are three frogs that count as one Brawler. They're the stage assistants of Ziggy's trio, and the presenters name them as Zap, Zee and Volt (spellings differ between fan sources until Supercell prints them). The on-screen card writes it as one word, "Thunderfrogs". The line that matters: "Thunder Frogs are the first legendary artillery brawler and they're coming in November."
- Main attack: you throw the frogs to different spots, and they form an electric triangle that damages everyone inside. Damage is higher toward the edges.
- Super: the three merge into one big frog that jumps three times. Each landing deals area damage, stronger at the center, and the third jump goes farther.
- Hypercharge: the third jump also fires an electric attack between all the jump spots, like the main attack.
Why that kit is interesting: the triangle rewards placement, not direct aim, so positioning across walls should matter more than for most throwers. That's our read from the footage. Supercell didn't announce stats, a price or an unlock event.
Who are Rey and Ruby, and how do you get one free?
Rey and Ruby are the King and Queen of Toyland, a couple, and "the first brawlers whose abilities synergize if they're in the same team". Both arrive in December, and Supercell confirmed the giveaway in plain words: "You'll be able to pick either Rey or Ruby for free during the Brawlidays season in December." It didn't say how the pick works.
| Rey | Ruby | |
|---|---|---|
| Main attack | Builds a mark on the enemy in sight; longer lock means more damage | Throws a club and a diamond; more damage if both hit at once |
| Super | Lock on to enemies in sight, then fire; shielded while aiming, press again to fire early | Area that grounds enemies and summons swirling shots, good against tanks |
| Hypercharge | Reveals invisible and bush-hidden enemies, applies a stronger mark | Larger area, wider swirling shots |
| Synergy | Heals an allied Ruby with his main attack, walks faster towards her | Heals an allied Rey with her main attack, moves faster towards him |
The community is already split: u/Logical_Print_9134's "You guys picking ray or ruby?" had the most comments among the 40 newest r/Brawlstars posts when we checked. Our call for now: don't decide yet. The choice comes with December's stats, and the synergy only pays off if a teammate brings the partner. On paper, Ruby answers a tank meta and Rey answers bush-camping Brawlers.
That takes the roster from 108 today to 111 by the end of December, if all three ship on schedule.
What changes in Ranked?
This was the opening segment and the biggest system change of the show. The stated goal: "We are making ranked better for all the competitive and sweaty players out there."
The big four:
- New pick and ban phase: more Brawlers on screen, filters and search, quick chat, swapping turns during picks, and suggesting bans or a whole class instead of one Brawler.
- New preparation screen: shows your skin, gives more loadout options and lets you use Pins before the match.
- More end-of-match stats: the presenters' pitch was proof "that you indeed carried the match".
- Fairer Elo: you win more for a 2–0 and lose less in a 2–1.
The smaller rules:
| Rule | Now | After the update |
|---|---|---|
| Brawler power | Power 9, Power 11 from Mythic | Power 11 only |
| Free maxed Brawlers | 3 | 6 |
| Diamond and above | Current requirement | More maxed Brawlers required (number not shown) |
| Unlock | 1,000 Trophies | Later on the Trophy Road |
| Season reset | Bigger drop | Drops fewer ranks |
| Masters and above | Teams allowed | No teaming |
| Matchmaking | Current range | Tighter from Mythic I |
| Spectating | Single match | Whole best-of-three |
| Battle log | Result | Stat screen and banned Brawlers |
| After a match | No Play Again option | Play Again button |
Two numbers came from outside the show. Supercell's October 4 podcast, as reported by BrawlQR, gave 5,000 Trophies as the new unlock and two ranks as the reset. The Brawl Talk's own Trophy Road shot supports the first one: the Ranked node sits just past 4,900, with 5,100 as the next reward.
New rewards are coming too. Seasonal Battle Cards are "inspired by fierce animals like wolves, tigers, dragons, and a deer", available for a limited time, and "they get slightly cooler every time you reach the same rank in a different season". The next Pro skin is Starr Patrol Bibi. The next Pro Pass "will be slightly shorter", with Pro Pass XP as compensation.
Until the update ships, the current rules in our Ranked brawlers guide still apply.
Which skins were shown?
| Line | Skins | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Brawl Vice season | Brawl Vice Bull, Crime Pays Poco | "You can get both of these skins with the Brawl Pass Plus"; each has two Chromas |
| Brawl Vice extras | Undercover Buzz, Undercover Pierce, Black Market Barley, City Days Emz | City Nights Emz is held for a future event |
| Brawlidays season | Santa Squeak, Nutcracker Draco, Snowball Bolt, Gingerbread Starr Nova, Brawlidays Pam, Delivery Elf Jessie | Frosty and Elf Squeak are the Brawl Pass colors; Draco gets Royal and Candy versions |
| Cartoon set | Toon Mortis, Steamboat Penny | Inspired by old cartoons |
| Esports | World Finals Clancy, HMBLE Leon, Crazy Raccoon Max | Clancy is a Supercell Make concept, given as a viewership reward |
| Pro skin | Starr Patrol Bibi | Upgrades as you play Ranked |
If you're deciding between passes for the new season, our Brawl Pass guide covers what Plus adds over the base pass.

What else is in the update?
Six Buffies. Two trios join the system, taking it from 27 Brawlers to 33:
| Trio | Brawler | Hyper Buffie effect |
|---|---|---|
| Snowtel | Mr. P | Suitcase bounces more times |
| Snowtel | Lou | Slippery area follows his main attack |
| Snowtel | Gale | Extra-large snowball right after his main attack |
| Candyland | Mandy | Keeps long range without focusing, camera zooms out |
| Candyland | Chester | Doubles his bells, each dealing a bit less damage |
| Candyland | Berry | Main attack splits in two, leaving two small puddles |
Some base kits change as well. Gale gets a new gadget, a wall that redirects enemy shots, Lou's Ice Block can be cancelled early, and Chester gets a hidden Jack-in-the-Box.
Two Hypercharges. Cosmo's Super homes in on a target and roots it for a few seconds. Vince's fires seven moths and spawns caterpillars that hunt enemies (the on-screen card labels it "Bug Swarm").
Pins and Sprays. More Pin slots, Pins and Sprays mixed in one battle menu, a general set or one per Brawler, a better inventory view and a clear label on exclusive cosmetics. New: Pins can fire automatically at match start, on a win, or after three takedowns without dying.
Modes.
- 20-Player Showdown: bigger map, robots to take down and a mini map.
- Counter Light: two turns. Each team plants its lights on the other side, and the faster team wins.
- Loaded Showdown upgrade: more items, including faster reload, life steal, attack range and a UFO that flies over walls.
- Super Hockey: hockey with "a wacky goalie".
- Reruns: past modes such as Drum Roll, which swaps your Brawler each time you take someone down.
Brawlidays. An advent calendar and Light Up the Tree, an improved Topple the Tower with a look-for-team option, a Brawler pool that favors your highest-Trophy picks, and "no power ups this time".
World Finals. November 20–22 in Japan. You can earn a Buffie, the World Finals Clancy skin and more for free by watching and interacting at event.brawlstars.com. Teams and format are in our World Finals guide.
When does the update come out?
Supercell didn't name a date in the video. Here's what's known:
- Season 56: due November 5, 2026 at 08:00 UTC, based on the current season's end time and Supercell's first-Thursday season rule.
- Thunder Frogs: "coming in November", with no day given.
- Rey & Ruby: December. If the first-Thursday rule holds, that season starts December 3.
- Balance changes: creators shared a work-in-progress list the day before the show, covering 27 Brawlers. See our V70 balance preview. It isn't live, and we'd treat every number as provisional.
Brawl-O-Ween isn't finished either. The Last Coffin runs until November 3 at 08:00 UTC, so keep clearing goals first.
What should you do before the update?
- Claim the free Pin. The official Freebie link comes from the video description. BrawlQR reports it's the Thinking Pin, one claim per account. Open it on the device with Brawl Stars installed.
- Max your Ranked pool. With Power 11 only and higher Diamond requirements coming, Coins and Power Points spent on your main picks should hold their value. The exact Diamond number isn't out, so spend on Brawlers you'd draft anyway, starting from our October tier list.
- Save resources for Thunder Frogs. Past launches ran a New Brawler Event with free Boxes, but nothing is confirmed here. Credits are the safe hedge; Legendary is the 3,800 tier in Brawler Blast, and that pull is random, so it doesn't guarantee a specific Brawler.
- Ignore "free Brawler" generators. The free Rey or Ruby comes from inside the game. Any site asking for your Supercell ID or login code is a scam.
When is the next Brawl Talk?
It hasn't been announced. This year's shows aired on Saturdays roughly 8–10 weeks apart (February 21, April 18, June 27, August 29, October 31), and this one already covers Brawlers through December. That points to early January 2027. It's a pattern, not a date.
