Diablo 4 Iconic Mythics Season 15: All 12, How to Get Them & Best Farm Methods (Patch 3.2.0)

Season 15 is the first time in Diablo IV history where every Iconic Mythic also exists as a regular Unique — making Harlequin Crest, Melted Heart of Selig, The Grandfather, and 9 others far more accessible than they ever were in Seasons 1–14. The 3.2.0 patch overhaul lets you find the Unique version first, then direct-craft the Mythic via the Horadric Cube. Belial remains the single most efficient boss for Mythic drops, and Blacksmith Mythic Caches now roll Iconic Mythics without the Crafted tag.

Quick answer (TLDR): In Diablo 4 Season 15, there are 12 Iconic Mythic Uniques. All 12 now also drop as regular Uniques (S15 change), making them significantly easier to find early in progression. To target a specific one: farm its Unique version from Lair Bosses, then direct-upgrade it to Mythic via the Horadric Cube (applies a Crafted tag — one per character). For an Iconic Mythic without the Crafted tag, run Belial (Exalted Lair Boss, highest drop rate) or claim a Blacksmith Mythic Cache. Season 15 launches around September 15, 2026 (post-BlizzCon 2026). All facts are based on the 3.2.0 PTR (August 4–11, 2026).

What Are Iconic Mythics in Diablo 4?

Iconic Mythics are a specific category of Mythic Unique items — the rarest, most build-defining gear in the game. Unlike crafted Mythics (which gain the Crafted tag and count against the 1-Crafted-per-character limit), Iconic Mythics are defined by their special Unique Effects that no other item replicates. They always drop at Item Power 925 with maximum-roll affixes.

Before Season 15, the 12 Iconic Mythics could only drop from Greater Lair Bosses (Duriel, Andariel, Belial, Harbinger) or be gambled via Blacksmith Mythic Caches, with no option to direct-craft a specific one. Season 15 changes that.

The 12 Iconic Mythics in Season 15:

What Changed for Iconic Mythics in Season 15 (3.2.0)

This is the biggest rework to Iconic Mythics since the system launched. Four significant changes apply as of Patch 3.2.0:

1. All 12 Iconic Mythics Now Also Drop as Regular Uniques

As Blizzard confirmed in the PTR patch notes: "We've heard your feedback, and we're making further improvements to mythic uniques and iconic mythics," with the goal to "give you far more control over that one major piece you'll need to carry your build."

In Season 15, every Iconic Mythic also has a Unique-quality version that drops from the same boss loot tables as regular Uniques. Getting the Unique version of Melted Heart of Selig or Harlequin Crest is significantly more likely than getting the Mythic-quality drop. This matters because the Unique version becomes your crafting material for the Horadric Cube direct-upgrade.

2. Direct-Upgrade Path to Iconic Mythics via Horadric Cube

The Horadric Cube's new Season 15 recipe lets you upgrade a specific Unique directly to Mythic quality while retaining all existing affixes, tempering, and masterworking:

  • Put in a Unique version of the item you want (e.g., a regular Harlequin Crest)
  • Add the required Resplendent Sparks + Horadric materials
  • Get back the Mythic-quality version of that exact item with all your affixes preserved

The catch: Horadric Cube "Upgrade Direct" results carry the Crafted tag in the 3.2.0 PTR — and you can only equip one Crafted item at a time per character. Note: Season 14 (hotfix 3.1.1a) removed the old 1-crafted-Mythic equip limit, but Season 15's PTR introduces a new Crafted tag system specifically on this direct-upgrade path. If you want two Iconic Mythics equipped simultaneously in S15, one must come from a world drop (Belial) or Blacksmith Cache (no Crafted tag). Plan your slot layout before committing the cube recipe. ⚠️ Confirm the exact equip rules on live Season 15 launch — PTR data is subject to change.

3. Blacksmith Mythic Cache Now Drops Iconic Mythics (No Crafted Tag)

The Blacksmith's Mythic Cache recipe — requiring Resplendent Sparks — now randomly drops either a standard Mythic Unique or an Iconic Mythic valid for your class. These have no Crafted tag, so they don't conflict with a direct-upgraded piece. The downside is that you cannot control which Iconic Mythic drops; it's random within your class pool.

Use Blacksmith Mythic Caches for your second Iconic Mythic slot if you've already direct-crafted your primary piece.

4. Mythic Unique Charms Are New in Season 15

Season 15 adds Mythic-quality versions of Unique Charms. These roll at max stat values with a significantly buffed Unique modifier. There is no crafting path for Mythic Charms — they must drop naturally from the world. Eight of the 10 new Legacy Uniques also have Charm variants, expanding the total Charm pool in Season 15.

Best Farm Methods for Iconic Mythics in Season 15

1. Belial, Lord of Lies (Best Method — Exalted Lair Boss)

Belial is the Exalted Lair Boss and the most efficient Mythic Unique farm in Season 15. He requires 2× Betrayer's Husk (dropped from Belial's Ambush events in the Overland — these trigger randomly like a Nemesis hunt) instead of Greater Lair Keys. Once cleared, his hoard chest lets you choose a loot table from Duriel, Andariel, or Harbinger of Hatred, giving you indirect influence over which Iconic Mythics appear in the roll.

Belial also has the highest base Mythic Unique drop rate of any boss in the game, per confirmed PTR testing. Save every Betrayer's Husk as you find them — they're the primary bottleneck on Belial access.

2. Horadric Cube Direct Upgrade (Target-Specific Method)

If you need a specific Iconic Mythic (e.g., Melted Heart of Selig for Rogue or Harlequin Crest for a universal slot), this is the most reliable path:

  • Farm the Unique version of your target item from Lair Bosses (Andariel and Duriel drop each Iconic Mythic's Unique precursor from their dedicated loot tables)
  • Accumulate Resplendent Sparks — drop from Greater Lair Bosses and Tormented boss first-kills
  • Gather Horadric crafting materials (obtained from Season Journey Caches and Escalation Nightmare Dungeons)
  • Use the Upgrade Direct to Mythic recipe at the Horadric Cube

The resulting item is your target Iconic Mythic at Mythic quality, Crafted tag applied. You keep all existing affixes, tempering, and masterworking.

3. Blacksmith Mythic Cache (No Crafted Tag, Random)

Spend Resplendent Sparks at the Blacksmith for a Mythic Cache. In Season 15, this can drop an Iconic Mythic — and importantly, it doesn't carry the Crafted tag. This is your path to equipping two Iconic Mythics simultaneously:

  • Direct-craft (Horadric Cube) your primary Iconic Mythic in the most important slot
  • Chase a Blacksmith Cache drop for your second slot

You cannot target which Iconic Mythic drops from the Cache. It's random within your class pool, so treat it as a high-value roll — don't skip the Blacksmith when you have excess Sparks.

4. Key Material Chain (Runs Per Hour)

Efficient Iconic Mythic farming comes down to maximizing your Greater Lair Key income:

  • Lair Keys — drop from War Plans, Helltide Tortured Gifts, World Bosses, Tree of Whispers caches
  • Farm Initiate Lair Bosses (Varshan, Grigoire, Beast in Ice, Lord Zir, Urivar) for Greater Lair Keys
  • Run Greater Lair Bosses (Duriel, Andariel, Harbinger) with Greater Lair Keys
  • Bank Betrayer's Husks from Overland Ambush encounters for Belial runs
  • Use excess Resplendent Sparks at Blacksmith Mythic Cache

Which Iconic Mythic Should You Target by Class?

Diablo 4 Melted Heart of Selig — Iconic Mythic Amulet converting resource drain to Life drain; best-in-slot for Rogue Death Trap builds in Season 15 (Blizzard Entertainment)

Iconic Mythic priority varies sharply by class and build. Here are the highest-priority items confirmed in PTR testing:

Barbarian: Melted Heart of Selig (survivability ceiling for Whirlwind builds), The Grandfather (raw damage for Hammer/Mighty Throw builds), Ring of Starless Skies (resource cost reduction for Wrath of the Berserker loops)

Druid: Ahavarion Spear of Lycander (Shrine effects proc constantly in dense overworld), Shattered Vow (DoT execute is lethal for Wolf builds)

Necromancer: Doombringer (Shadow damage shred on Lucky Hit; best-in-slot for most Necro builds), Heir of Perdition (single-target boss damage; excellent for Bone Spirit Desecrated Ground)

Rogue: Melted Heart of Selig (Death Trap immortal powerhouse — per Maxroll post-PTR analysis: "this otherwise squishy build [becomes] an immortal powerhouse"), Ring of Starless Skies (zero-cost skill rotations)

Sorcerer: Ring of Starless Skies (critical for Firewall builds), Andariel's Visage (Poison Nova on-hit synergy with Elemental builds)

Spiritborn: Leoric's Crown + Nesēkēm the Herald (the Splinter-doubling combination that Maxroll flagged as potentially broken in PTR — Crown doubles Soul Splinter effects, Herald guarantees Crit/Overpower on marked elites), Shattered Vow (execute DoT)

Paladin: Harlequin Crest (flat skill level bump for any Paladin build, especially Shield Charge variants), Doombringer (damage reduction on Lucky Hit for survivability)

Warlock: Heir of Perdition (boss kill focus), Doombringer (all-class access, Shadow synergy)

Iconic Mythics Versus Regular Mythic Uniques: Which Is Better?

In Season 15, the line is sharper than ever. Iconic Mythics have locked, predefined Unique Effects — you cannot roll them away, only min/max the base affixes. A crafted Mythic (via Horadric Cube or Jeweler Rune Crafting) is a specific Unique elevated to Mythic quality — it gains the Mythic label and stat boosts but its Unique Effect stays the same.

The power gap between an Iconic Mythic at Mythic rarity and the same item at Unique rarity is meaningful for endgame pushing. For most Torment 1–8 content, the Unique-quality version of an Iconic Mythic (now much easier to obtain in S15) is sufficient. For Torment 9–12 and the Pit's hardest tiers, the Mythic-quality version is the ceiling.

FAQ

What's the difference between Iconic Mythics and regular Mythic Uniques in Season 15? Iconic Mythics are a named subset of Mythic Uniques — items like Harlequin Crest, The Grandfather, and Melted Heart of Selig that have always-on Unique Effects. In Season 15, all 12 Iconic Mythics also exist as lower-rarity Unique versions (new), giving you an easier entry point before upgrading to full Mythic quality via the Horadric Cube.

Can I direct-craft a specific Iconic Mythic with the Horadric Cube? Yes — if you have the Unique version of the target item, the Horadric Cube's "Upgrade Direct to Mythic" recipe in Season 15 converts it to Mythic quality while preserving all affixes. The result carries the Crafted tag; you can only equip one Crafted item per character.

Which boss drops Harlequin Crest (Shako) in Season 15? Harlequin Crest is in the General Unique Pool and can drop from any Greater Lair Boss at Torment difficulty. Belial offers the highest overall Mythic drop rate — pick Duriel's or Andariel's loot table after clearing him for the broadest unique item selection. There is no single dedicated Harlequin Crest boss in the S15 loot tables.

Do Iconic Mythics still drop from world enemies in Season 15? Yes, but the rate is extremely low — Torment 1+ world enemies have a small chance for any Mythic Unique, including Iconics. In practice, Greater Lair Boss runs and Belial are dramatically more efficient than open-world farming.

Can I equip two Iconic Mythics at the same time? Yes, in most cases. Season 14 (hotfix 3.1.1a) removed the old 1-crafted-Mythic equip limit entirely — in S14 you can wear multiple crafted Mythics freely. Season 15's PTR (3.2.0) introduces a new Crafted tag on the "Upgrade Direct" path, limiting you to one such item equipped at a time. Equip a second Iconic Mythic from Belial drops or Blacksmith Mythic Caches (no Crafted tag). Confirm the live S15 rules at launch, as PTR details may change.

Are Mythic Unique Charms craftable in Season 15? No. Mythic-quality Unique Charms are world-drop only in Season 15 — there is no Horadric Cube recipe or Jeweler path to craft them. They roll at maximum stat values with significantly buffed Unique modifiers, making them high-value jackpot drops when they appear.
