TL;DR: What is the fastest way to farm Diablo 4 Reliquary Favor Tokens in Season 14? For pure Favor, 10-wave Infernal Hordes are the community's most consistent pick, though no controlled Season 14 Tokens-per-hour test proves there's one universal winner. Run them at the highest difficulty where your build still wipes packs quickly. If you want better all-round seasonal progress, rotate Helltide events and Pandemonium Ruptures instead. You need 35 Favor Tokens to clear the free Reliquary and 196 for every standard reward across all four Battle Pass Reliquaries. Spend them before the 99-token cap stops further earnings.
Diablo 4 doesn't drop Favor Tokens as red items on the floor. Kills and quest completions fill the small meter in the Reliquary menu. Once it's full, you get a token.
So this is a speed problem. Kill more monsters. Cut loading screens. Stop staring at loot in town.
Season 14, Season of Death Awakening, began on June 30, 2026. Its Ruptures make the open world a strong farming loop, while old standbys such as Infernal Hordes remain excellent when filling the Favor bar is all you care about. This guide ranks those routes, gives the exact Season 14 token budget, and shows you how to test farms with your own build. Blizzard hasn't published a secret drop table, so we won't pretend otherwise.

How do Reliquary Favor Tokens work in Season 14?
Blizzard's rule is refreshingly short: “Favor can only be earned by slaying monsters and completing quests.” That wording comes directly from the official Reliquary introduction, which also confirms the progress bar and wallet cap.
There's no documented daily or weekly Favor reset. No token vendor, either. Blizzard also lists no paid shortcut that adds Tokens to your wallet.
You earn progress while playing on either the Seasonal or Eternal Realm. Once you have a Token, you can spend it on any eligible item in a Reliquary you can access. The reward order isn't fixed.
Three rules matter before you start grinding:
- You can hold no more than 99 Favor Tokens. At 99, you stop earning more until you spend some. Blizzard Support confirms both rules.
- Up to 99 unused Tokens carry into future seasons, but unclaimed rewards disappear when their individual Reliquary expires. Blizzard documents the carryover separately.
- A starred completion reward costs 0 Favor. It becomes available after you redeem every regular item in that Reliquary, so remember to claim it.
Favor Tokens aren't Grim Favors from the Tree of Whispers. They aren't Season 14's Glints of Hope, either; our Glints of Hope guide covers that separate reputation track. The Overwatch event Reliquary uses Eye of the Overwatch currency from Elite and Champion kills, not Favor. Same menu family. Different wallet.
How many Favor Tokens do you actually need?
As checked on July 11, 2026, the current per-item prices total 35 Favor for the free Season of Death Awakening Reliquary. Weapons costs 20, Beasts costs 43, and Armor costs 98. That's 196 Favor Tokens for every regular reward.
The Favor totals below come from adding the current Season 14 reward list and its displayed Favor prices. Icy Veins' current Reliquary guide lists the 200/500/800-Platinum individual prices, while Blizzard's current season page confirms the four Reliquaries, reward counts, 99 cap, and 1,000-versus-1,500 bundle totals.
| Season 14 Reliquary | Displayed slots | Favor needed for regular items | Platinum access price | Completion reward cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Season of Death Awakening | 9 | 35 | 0 Platinum | 0 Favor |
| Weapons | 8 | 20 | 200 Platinum | 0 Favor |
| Beasts | 8 | 43 | 500 Platinum | 0 Favor |
| Armor | 11 | 98 | 800 Platinum | 0 Favor |
| All four | 36 | 196 | 1,000 Platinum (three-paid bundle) | 0 Favor each |
Those displayed slots include one free completion reward per Reliquary. That's why the slot count and Favor cost don't match.
The Premium bundle costs 1,000 Platinum, compared with 1,500 for the three paid Reliquaries separately. You save 500 Platinum. The Deluxe bundle costs 2,800 Platinum and instantly grants the Winged Redeemer set plus its listed extras, but it doesn't make Favor a purchasable currency.
Free players have a simple target: 35. That gets you three weapon transmogs, the Eye of Tyranny Town Portal, Nangaria Mount, Barding of the Deathless mount armor, and two 100-Platinum rewards before the free completion bonus. Only want the spendable currency? The two Platinum tiles cost 5 Favor each, so 10 Tokens gets both.
What is the fastest Reliquary Favor Token farm?
1. Run 10-wave Infernal Hordes for pure Favor
Infernal Hordes should be the first test for an endgame character. A 10-wave Compass gives you 10 minutes of timed combat before the boss and reward room because each wave lasts 60 seconds. Packs spawn in the same arena. There's no corridor backtracking, and the next target comes to you.
That's perfect for a kill-fed meter.
The Season 14 patch notes also say, “Increased the base activity XP for Infernal Hordes and Nightmare Dungeons with Escalation Sigils.” (Blizzard, patch 3.1.0) That quote is about XP, not Favor. It makes Hordes a better multi-purpose run, but it doesn't prove there's a Token multiplier.
Pick spawn-heavy Infernal Offers. Keep moving between event points, and avoid options that make enemies dramatically tougher without adding bodies. Burning Aether doesn't convert into Favor; it's a separate Hordes currency.
The plan is simple: keep killing, drop the Council fast, and reset immediately. Our Infernal Hordes farming guide covers Compasses, offers, and reward chests in detail.
Don't force Torment XII if elites turn into punching bags. A lower tier where you erase every wave will usually fill the Favor bar faster than a prestige tier where half the minute disappears into one pack. Blizzard hasn't published a Favor multiplier by Torment. Clear speed is the reliable variable you can control.
2. Chain Helltides and Pandemonium Ruptures for the best Season 14 stack
Helltide is the smarter route when you still need seasonal progress, gear, Cinders, or Glints. Blizzard says normal Pandemonium Ruptures are especially common inside Helltides, while Surging Ruptures can replace local events. Both place dense packs around a compact objective. The kills fill Favor, and closing the Rupture advances the season loop.
Ride from event to event. Open every Rupture you cross, and kill on the move instead of cleaning up lonely corners of the map. If a Realmwalker appears, finish it and continue into its one-room Deathtoll Chamber. That room cuts the dead travel that makes open-world farming inconsistent.
See our Pandemonium Ruptures guide for the Normal, Surging, and Colossal variants.
This loop kills plenty of Elites and Champions, too, so it can advance the separate Overwatch Reliquary at the same time. Just remember that Ruptures don't advertise a fixed Favor payout. Their value is the monster density, not a special Token chest.
3. Speed-run the Pit only if your maps are genuinely fast
The Pit can beat a sloppy Helltide for a finished build. It's repeatable and doesn't demand much decision-making.
It can also be a trap.
Long layouts, missed side paths, and a slow boss all leave the Favor meter idle. Drop to the tier where trash dies on contact and the boss folds quickly. Run it for 20 minutes, record Tokens plus the partial bar, then compare that result with 20 minutes of Hordes. Keep the faster one.
Favor efficiency is personal here. A screen-clearing Rogue and a boss-focused Necromancer won't post the same route time, even at identical Paragon.
4. Stack quests while leveling
On a fresh character, don't ditch the seasonal questline just to target Hordes early. Quest completion is one of only two officially confirmed Favor sources, and the monsters you kill along the way cover the other. Pick up side quests that finish in the zone you're already clearing. Progress the Season of Death Awakening story, and skip long rides for a single dialogue turn-in.
It isn't flashy. It is efficient.
You're earning Favor while gaining access to the systems and power needed for the faster farms. The Season 14 Season Journey guide can help you overlap progression targets without confusing Journey rewards with Reliquary Favor.

Does higher Torment give more Favor Tokens?
Blizzard doesn't publish a Favor-per-kill table, a Torment multiplier, or even the amount of hidden progress needed to fill one Token bar. Player reports disagree because difficulty, build speed, activity, and partial-bar progress all affect the result. Treat any universal “Tokens per hour” claim as a benchmark, not a drop rate.
Test it yourself. Screenshot your starting wallet and bar, run one activity for 20 minutes, then record full Tokens plus the bar's rough remainder. Repeat on another tier or activity for the same 20 minutes.
Don't count only whole Tokens. A nearly full bar can look like zero progress if you ignore the partial meter.
As a rule, raise Torment only while your kills per minute stay steady. Favor doesn't care how impressive the tier number looks. Dead monsters move the bar. Spending five minutes on one boss creates far fewer kill events than mowing through dense packs.

How can you make every farming session faster?
The biggest gains are boring. That's why players skip them.
- Empty your bags before the first run. Salvage after several runs, not after every Compass.
- Lock the gear you're keeping so town cleanup takes seconds.
- Use a speed-farm setup with movement, area damage, and short cooldowns. Your deepest Pit setup may be slower here.
- Prefer 10-wave Hordes over 6- or 8-wave versions when your supply allows it; fewer resets means more combat per loading screen.
- In Helltide, follow events and Ruptures rather than killing scattered stragglers.
- Check the Reliquary wallet between blocks and spend near 99. Overflow doesn't bank invisibly.
Got one hour? Spend the first 40 minutes chain-running 10-wave Hordes, then use the final 20 minutes on a Helltide with Ruptures. That gives you one clean pure-density sample and one Season 14 open-world sample.
Next session, give the full hour to whichever moved your meter farther. No folklore needed.
What should you spend Favor Tokens on first?
Start with anything you'd hate to miss. You can choose rewards in any order, so free players should consider the two 100-Platinum tiles first. They cost 10 Favor combined. After that, take the mount, mount armor, portal, or weapon skins you'll actually equip.
Completionists need to spend all 35 regular Favor before the free bonus becomes available.
Premium buyers should make their choice before purchasing one Reliquary. Blizzard's current terms say buying an individual paid Reliquary removes the 1,000-Platinum Premium bundle offer; all three individually total 1,500. Preview the cosmetics. Then choose once.
Never sit at 99 because you're “saving for later.” Spend enough to resume earning, then rebuild the wallet. Carryover is valuable near season end, but a full wallet during an active farm is just lost progress.
Which activities are poor Favor farms?
Repeated single-target boss kills are weak unless the encounter spawns substantial trash. Long inventory sessions are worse. So is waiting for scheduled events or pushing content where enemies survive several rotations. Farming only reward chests has the same problem: opening a chest isn't one of Blizzard's stated Favor sources.
The Tower may matter for leaderboards. Boss lairs may matter for Uniques, and Nightmare Dungeons may fit another progression goal. Run them for those rewards.
If the Reliquary is your only target, continuous low-downtime killing wins.

FAQ
Can you buy Reliquary Favor Tokens in Diablo 4? No. Blizzard says Favor can only be earned through monster kills and quest completions. Platinum buys access to Premium Reliquaries or bundles; it doesn't buy Favor Tokens.
Do Favor Tokens carry over to the next season? Yes. Up to 99 unused Favor Tokens carry into future seasons. The Tokens persist, but unclaimed rewards from an expired Reliquary don't, so redeem anything you want before its in-game countdown ends.
How many Favor Tokens does a 10-wave Infernal Horde give? Blizzard publishes no fixed payout, and no controlled Season 14 test supports a universal number. A 10-wave run guarantees 10 one-minute combat waves, not a set Token total. Measure the full Tokens and partial progress bar earned by your own build.
Does the Diablo 4 Overwatch Reliquary use Favor Tokens? No. It uses Eye of the Overwatch, earned from Elite and Champion monsters. Favor Tokens pay for the regular Season of Death Awakening, Weapons, Beasts, and Armor Reliquary items.
Why did my Favor Token bar stop moving? Check whether your wallet reads 99. That's the hard cap, and Blizzard says you must spend Tokens before you can earn more. Below 99? Compare the meter after a full combat run; individual kills may add too little progress to notice at a glance.
Do Elixirs, incense, or XP bonuses increase Favor gains? Blizzard hasn't documented any of them as Favor multipliers. Use consumables if they improve your kill speed, but don't assume an XP percentage also applies to the Reliquary meter.
