Quick answer: Gallery Level 10 in EA SPORTS FC 27 pays a 1-of-5 Holographic Base Hero Player Pick, and community objective trackers list it as untradeable. Early-access players putting numbers to the grind report roughly 3 million Gallery score to reach it and 100,000–130,000 coins burned on the 5% Transfer Market tax buying and re-selling cards to get there. The score you already own is free — the last stretch is not. Grade everything your club has passed through, run the Gold Re-Roll SBC for First Owner items, and do not buy cards at launch-week prices to force a level.
Current FC 27 phase: early access, day six. It opened 17 September at 23:00 UTC on PC and 18 September at 00:00 local time on every other platform for Ultimate, Ultimate Plus and EA Play Pro. Worldwide launch is 24 September at 23:00 UTC (PC) and 25 September at 00:00 local time (consoles). Live campaign: Season 1: Ones to Watch, 17 September to 22 October 2026.

Key takeaways
- Level 10 is the first milestone that looks like a jackpot and isn't. A 1-of-5 Holographic Base Hero Player Pick with no published rating floor means the pool includes the cheap Heroes as well as the good ones.
- The reward is untradeable in every objective tracker carrying it (FUTBIN, FUT.GG). You cannot cash it out if you dislike the five options.
- Score is permanent and survives selling. EA is explicit: "If an eligible Player Item passes through your Club, it can still count toward your Gallery after you sell it." That is what makes a buy-add-sell loop possible — and what makes it cost 5% per lap.
- 5% of a 2.5 million coin turnover is 125,000 coins — almost exactly the loss one early-access player reported. It is the mechanical price of renting score, not bad luck.
- Grades are cumulative, so grading a Set at D today costs you nothing later. EA: "Yes. If you jump straight to S, you'll get all the rewards from the lower grades."
- S on every Set is not currently possible. One player working through the Sets with FUT.GG's tracker counted only about 6 S-capable Sets out of 126.
What do FC 27's Gallery Level milestones actually pay?
EA's help article documents how Gallery Sets, grades and Gallery Levels work, but it does not publish the milestone reward list. The table below comes from the in-game Gallery Milestone objective group as captured by FUTBIN and FUT.GG during early access — accurate-but-unofficial, and worth re-checking on your own Milestones screen.
| Gallery Level | Milestone reward (community-tracked) |
|---|---|
| 5 | Corona — 84 OVR RW, untradeable |
| 10 | 1 of 5 Holographic Base Hero Player Pick (untradeable) |
| 15 | 1 of 5 Holographic Base ICON Player Pick |
| 20 | 1 of 5 88+ Holographic Base Hero Player Pick |
| 25 | 1 of 5 92+ Holographic Base ICON Player Pick |
Both trackers also list an Evolution unlock inside the same milestone group. Note the shape of that ladder: the rating floors only appear at Level 20 and above. Level 10 and Level 15 are unfiltered pools, which is the entire reason the Level 10 pick disappoints people.
Holographic items matter here beyond presentation — they are rarer versions of eligible special items, and per EA they "contribute more to your Set's overall score." We broke that system down in the FC 27 Holographic items guide.
How much Gallery score does Level 10 need in FC 27?
EA has published no level-to-score table. The number circulating among early-access players who have actually hit it is around 3 million Gallery score, and community guides written during early access put the Level 10 threshold at roughly the same place. Treat it as a working estimate, not a published figure.
Where that score comes from decides whether the grind costs you anything:
- Base Grade — the sum of the Item Scores of the Player Items in a Set. Driven by rating and rarity.
- Bonus Grade — percentage bonuses from the Set's bonus tags.
- Total Score — Base + Bonus, and that is what sets the D/C/B/A/S grade.
The lever that dwarfs everything else is First Owner. Community-captured FC 27 tag data puts it at +150% for 5–9 matching items, +300% for 10–19 and +500% for 20 or more — and it only ever applies to items that came to you directly from packs, SBCs, Objectives or rewards. A card bought on the Transfer Market contributes its base score and nothing more. We covered every tier and all 21 tags in the FC 27 First Owner guide.
One player deep enough into the grind to have hit Level 10 described the split plainly on r/fut: roughly 1.5–2 million of the 3 million came from league Sets where they had assembled 20 First Owner players per league to trigger the top tag tier. In other words, well over half of Level 10 is not bought — it is packed.
What does rushing Gallery Level 10 really cost?
The loop everyone is running works because of one EA rule:
"Player Items don't need to be in your Club to be available in the Gallery. If an eligible Player Item passes through your Club, it can still count toward your Gallery after you sell it."
— EA Help, EA SPORTS FC 27 Gallery Sets and rewards guide
So you buy a card, add it to a Set, grade the Set, and sell the card back. The score stays. What does not stay is 5% of the sale — Ultimate Team's Transfer Market tax, unchanged in FC 27 according to every community tax calculator tracking it. Run the arithmetic:
| Coin value churned through your club | 5% tax paid | What it buys you |
|---|---|---|
| 500,000 | 25,000 | A few club and league Sets graded |
| 1,000,000 | 50,000 | Meaningful league Base Grade |
| 2,500,000 | 125,000 | Roughly the last leg to Level 10 |
One r/fut player who rushed Level 10 during early access reported exactly that outcome: 3–4 hours, around 100,000–130,000 coins lost to tax on the buying and selling, and a 1-of-5 Hero pick that came back as five mid-tier Heroes — none of them a Hall of FUT name. A second player described five days of actively working the Gallery to reach the same level, and summed the experience up as "worth it, I guess."
There is a cheaper version — re-list slightly above the market floor instead of dumping at BIN, so the buyer effectively pays your tax. It is slow, it eats transfer-list slots, and it fights the one certainty of launch week: prices fall. The card you rented at 12,000 coins on Tuesday is cheaper on Friday, and the tax is the smaller half of that loss.
Why buying cards on the market is the expensive way to level the Gallery
Because market cards can never carry the tag that actually moves your score: you can buy Base Grade, but you cannot buy Bonus Grade.
The cheap First Owner factory players have settled on during early access is the Gold Re-Roll SBC. One r/fut player put the cost at three 83-rated players at roughly 850–900 coins each plus a bronze — call it 2,600–2,800 coins a pack, prices moving daily — and every gold that comes out of it is first-owned by you. Another described funding it purely with End of Match Rewards coins between games and pulling a usable special item from it. Compare that with spending 12,000 coins renting an 86 off the market that pays base score only.
The practical ranking for launch week looks like this:
- Free score you already own. Every eligible item that has passed through your club since day one is already tracked. Open the Gallery, use Autocomplete, grade every Set that completes. Cost: zero coins.
- Objectives, SBC and reward items. First-owned by definition, and you were doing them anyway.
- Gold Re-Roll SBC with spare fodder. The cheapest repeatable source of First Owner golds.
- Renting cards off the market. Last, and only for a Set that is one or two items short of a grade threshold you can see on screen.
If your coin balance is the thing stopping you at step 3 — a lot of fodder and no liquidity — that is where EA FC 27 Coins actually changes the outcome, because pack volume and SBC fodder are what produce first-owned items. Renting 86s is not.

Is the 1-of-5 Holographic Base Hero pick worth it?
On its own: it is a free untradeable special item, so it is never bad. As a target to chase with coins in launch week: no. Three reasons:
- No published rating floor. Level 20 pays an 88+ Hero pick and Level 25 a 92+ ICON pick. Level 10 pays neither qualifier, which is why players are opening it and finding the cheaper end of the Hero pool.
- Untradeable. You cannot sell the four you did not want, and you cannot sell the one you did.
- The Sets do not expire. Gallery score is permanent, Sets stay regradeable all year, and EA confirms the grade rewards stack: "Yes. If you jump straight to S, you'll get all the rewards from the lower grades." Nothing about waiting costs you anything — except the Hero being in your club a few weeks earlier.
TheGamer's FC 27 Gallery guide, published 17 September, argues the opposite corner: "There is categorically no downside to the Gallery; it only gives, and it doesn't require you to go out of your way to interact with it or benefit from it." That is true of the system and false of the grind. Passive Gallery progress genuinely has no downside. Buying 2.5 million coins of cards you do not need, at the most expensive prices of the year, to reach an untradeable pick with no rating floor, has a very measurable one.
Can you get an S grade on every Gallery Set?
Not right now. A player working through the Sets with FUT.GG's Gallery tracker counted roughly 6 S-capable Sets out of 126 at this point in the cycle, and the replies agreed on the reason: S thresholds assume a card pool — special items, Holographics, First Owner depth — that does not exist six days into a game's life.
That is good news for your coin balance:
- Chasing S is pointless in September. The items that would get you there have not been released yet.
- Grade at whatever letter you can hit now. Rewards are cumulative, so a D today and an A in December pays you both.
- Re-grading is manual. Swapping a bought card for the packed version later means going back into the Set and regrading it yourself.
Worth repeating one EA gotcha that catches Evolution users: "Evolution upgrades don't carry over to the Gallery. If you upgrade a Player Item through an Evolution, its Gallery entry is still based on the original version of the Item." The 88 you built pays the Gallery like the 80 you started with.
So when should you actually grind the Gallery?
A simple decision rule for the 25 September launch window:
- Today through launch weekend: grade everything free. Autocomplete, confirm, collect Gallery Tokens. Do not open the Transfer Market for the Gallery.
- Every spare 83 fodder card: feed the Gold Re-Roll SBC rather than listing it. You are converting fodder into First Owner score.
- Once Season 1 promo items are flowing (Ones to Watch runs to 22 October, and Destined for Glory starts at worldwide launch): revisit the league Sets. Special items are where the Base Grade jumps.
- October onwards, when prices have fallen: that is when renting cards off the market becomes cheap enough to be rational — and by then you are chasing Level 15 and 20, where the picks have rating floors worth having.
If Gallery Tokens rather than levels are the goal, the faster route is how to get 500 Gallery Tokens fast. For the system end to end, start with the FC 27 FUT Gallery guide, and for everything else waiting on 25 September, the FC 27 launch day checklist.
Short on coins, not on time? Gallery score follows pack volume and SBC fodder, and both of those run on coins. timesaver.gg covers the grind so launch week is spent playing and grading.

FAQ
How much Gallery score do you need for Level 10 in FC 27? EA has not published a level-to-score table. Early-access players who have reached it put Level 10 at roughly 3 million Gallery score, with well over half of that typically coming from First Owner tag bonuses on league Sets rather than raw item value. Check your own Gallery Level bar in the Club menu for the live figure.
Is the FC 27 Gallery Level 10 Hero pick tradeable? No. Every objective tracker carrying the milestone lists it as a 1 of 5 Holographic Base Hero Player Pick (Untradeable), so the four you do not choose are gone and the one you take cannot be sold.
Do you lose Gallery score if you sell the player? No. EA states it directly: "If an eligible Player Item passes through your Club, it can still count toward your Gallery after you sell it." The only exception EA names is Loan Items, which are not eligible for the Gallery at all.
Can you get an S grade on every Gallery Set in FC 27? Not this early. Players cross-checking Sets against FUT.GG's tracker found only around 6 of 126 Sets currently capable of an S grade, because the special items required do not exist yet. Grade at the letter you can reach now — EA confirms rewards from lower grades are paid when you later jump higher.
Do Evolutions raise a player's Gallery score? No. Per EA: "Evolution upgrades don't carry over to the Gallery. If you upgrade a Player Item through an Evolution, its Gallery entry is still based on the original version of the Item." Evolve for the pitch, not for the Gallery.
Is it worth buying cards just to level the Gallery? In launch week, no. Prices are at their annual peak, the Transfer Market tax takes 5% of every re-sale — 125,000 coins on a 2.5 million turnover — and bought cards cannot carry the First Owner tag that supplies most of your score. Spend on packs and SBC fodder instead, and rent market cards only to close a Set that is one or two items short of a visible grade threshold.
