FC 27 Gallery Players Not Counting? Every Eligibility Rule — and Why You Can Sell the Card Anyway

Quick answer: Three things stop a player counting toward a FUT Gallery Set in EA SPORTS FC 27. Loan Items are hard-excluded — EA's help article says so outright. Evolution upgrades do not carry over, so an evolved card is filed at its original rating. And brand-new special items can fail to register: since TOTW 2 dropped on 23 September, players have reported on EA's own Bug Reports forum that the new inform cards and their Holographic versions do not appear in the Gallery at all. Everything else — packs, Transfer Market, SBCs, Objectives, rewards — is eligible, and selling the card afterwards does not remove the score.

Current FC 27 phase: final day of early access. Early access opened 17 September at 23:00 UTC on PC (18 September at 00:00 local time elsewhere) for Ultimate, Ultimate Plus and EA Play Pro. Worldwide launch is 24 September at 23:00 UTC on PC and 25 September at 00:00 local time on consoles. Live campaign: Season 1: Ones to Watch, 17 September to 22 October 2026. Destined for Glory starts on launch day.

Key takeaways

  • Loan Items are the only category EA explicitly bans. Verbatim: "No. Loan Items aren't eligible for the Gallery and don't count toward Gallery Sets."
  • Evolutions are a trap. EA: "If you upgrade a Player Item through an Evolution, its Gallery entry is still based on the original version of the Item." Evolving an 82 to an 87 adds zero Item Score.
  • The TOTW 2 registration failure is real and current — named week-two informs will not register, while older special items do.
  • You do not have to keep the card. Buy → add to Set → grade → sell; the score stays.
  • One card can fill several of the 126 live Sets at once.

Why are my players not counting in the FC 27 Gallery?

The FUT Gallery is the biggest structural change to Ultimate Team this year, and EA's documentation for it is thin. The official help article — "How do Gallery Sets work in EA SPORTS FC™ 27?" on help.ea.com, updated 22 September 2026 — is a one-minute read covering the menu path and the grade letters, with every eligibility rule hidden in a collapsed FAQ accordion at the bottom. Almost nobody scrolls that far, which is why r/fut fills up with the same question every morning of launch week.

Three things cause a card to "not count", and they are not the same problem:

CauseWhat you seeIs it a bug?Fix
Loan ItemCard is greyed out or absent from the eligible poolNo — EA ruleNone. Loans never count

Which Player Items are eligible for Gallery Sets?

EA's answer, quoted in full from the help FAQ:

"No. Loan Items aren't eligible for the Gallery and don't count toward Gallery Sets. Most other Player Items you get through Packs, the Transfer Market, Objectives, SBCs, and other Ultimate Team™ rewards can be added to your Gallery."

Note the hedge — "most other", not "all other". EA left itself room, and week-two behaviour suggests it needed it.

If a card is in your club and it is not a loan, it should be eligible. If it is eligible and still missing, you are looking at the third problem, not the first.

Why doesn't my Evolution card raise my Gallery grade?

This is the rule that costs the most score, and it is a single sentence in EA's FAQ:

"EA SPORTS FC™ Ultimate Team™ Evolution upgrades don't carry over to the Gallery. If you upgrade a Player Item through an Evolution, its Gallery entry is still based on the original version of the Item."

Read that with a Set score in mind. A Set's grade is driven by Item Score, built from a card's overall rating and rarity. So the obvious play — run a cheap 80-rated club filler through a Pathways Evolution, get it to 86, drop it into your club Set to push a C up to a B — does not work. The Gallery files that card at 80.

Two consequences for launch week:

  • Never burn an Evolution slot on a card you are holding for Gallery score. Evolve the players you actually want to play with — our FC 27 Evolutions and Pathways guide covers which branches are worth a slot.
  • If you already evolved a card you needed for a Set, buy a plain copy. A second, un-evolved version registers at its own rating — no First Owner, but the higher base Item Score, and base score is what the grade threshold measures.

EA said the same thing in its own FC 27 FUT Deep Dive Pitch Notes before launch: "Loan Items are not eligible, while Evolution Items are represented by the original base Item before it entered an Evo." Two independent EA sources, one rule — this is not a bug and it will not be patched.

Are TOTW 2 cards broken in the FC 27 Gallery?

This is the one that is actually a bug, and it started on Wednesday 23 September 2026, when TOTW 2 went live with a 23-player squad. Within hours, reports stacked up. On EA's FC 27 Bug Reports forum, one player wrote:

"The new totw 2 cards are not registering in the gallery. Brought holdt and holdt holographic. Anderson and Anderson holographic none register in the gallery currently."

Threads on r/fut describe the same thing from the other direction — it is specifically the new items failing. One player reported the week-two informs for Moleiro and Gross would not appear, and a newly released Tuanzebe card behaved the same way, while an Ones to Watch card from the previous week registered normally. Another forum report describes hovering a card, seeing the confirmation "Added to gallery", then finding the player absent from the Set entirely.

The pattern is consistent: items released after the Gallery catalogue was built are the ones going missing. Older FC 27 special items, base golds and market cards all behave.

What EA has said: nothing. There is no acknowledgement of a Gallery registration issue in Title Update 1.0.1, which shipped on 22 September and focused on The Grounds, gameplay and general Ultimate Team stability — we broke down what 1.0.1 fixed and the six bugs it didn't touch earlier this week. Treat every claim in this section as player-reported and unconfirmed by EA.

What to actually do:

  • Close and relaunch the game. Several reports say the item appeared after a full restart, consistent with a client-side catalogue refresh.
  • Do not sell the card to "reset" it — if it never registered, selling removes your only copy and gains you nothing.
  • Do not panic-buy a second copy. TOTW informs are at their most expensive in the 48 hours after release.
  • File it on EA's Bug Reports forum with a screenshot — that is the input EA's live team actually reads.
  • Check again after launch day. Worldwide launch brings a population spike and, historically, a server-side content refresh with it.

Do you lose Gallery progress if you sell the player?

No — and this is the most valuable rule in the system, because it changes what a coin is for. EA, verbatim:

"Player Items don't need to be in your Club to be available in the Gallery. If an eligible Player Item passes through your Club, it can still count toward your Gallery after you sell it."

EA's FUT Deep Dive Pitch Notes extend it to SBCs: "Even if an Item is no longer actively in your Club, for example, if you sold it on the Transfer Market or submitted it into an SBC, it can still contribute to Gallery Sets." An early-access player on r/EASportsFC called it "a somewhat passive tracker of every card you have ever owned regardless of if you sell or submit them in an SBC."

So the Gallery is not a shelf you have to stock. It is a logbook. The loop: buy the card on the Transfer Market → add it to the Set and hit Confirm Changes → grade the Set → relist and sell.

You pay the EA tax and the spread, not the price of the card. On a 20,000-coin market card that is 1,000 coins of tax plus the spread — a few thousand coins to permanently bank an Item Score, versus 20,000 to hold it. Across a 126-Set catalogue that is the difference between grading a handful of Sets and grading dozens.

Three caveats:

  • Register first, sell second. The score banks once the item has passed through your club and been added to the Set.
  • Grading is manual. Adding items does not regrade a Set — you have to confirm, and come back when you upgrade a slot.
  • A bought card never carries First Owner, no matter how long you hold it. If a Set is close on the tag tiers the packed copy is worth far more — see our breakdown of the First Owner tag and all 21 Gallery bonus tags.

This is why coin liquidity matters more in FC 27 than it did in FC 26. The Gallery rewards throughput — how many eligible items you cycle through your club — not how big your club is.

Short on launch-week capital to cycle Gallery cards through your club? These are the FC 27 services we run, with paced delivery and no bots or injectors:

One honest note: EA's User Agreement prohibits buying, selling or transferring coins for real money, and enforcement can include coin removal, a transfer-market ban or an account ban. Comfort Trade with paced delivery and no cheats, bots or injectors is how the risk is minimised — not removed. Anyone telling you there is zero ban risk is selling you something.

Can the same player count toward more than one Gallery Set?

Yes. EA's FAQ is a one-word answer — "Yes, you can use the same Player Item in multiple Gallery Sets" — and early-access players confirmed it by testing. With 126 Sets in the FC 27 catalogue organised by league, nation, club, rarity and campaign, a single Premier League Brazilian gold card can sit in a league Set, a nation Set, a club Set and a rarity Set at once. Buy for one Set, get four. The corollary: prioritise players with dense overlap — a card from a big league, a big nation and a well-supported club is worth several times an obscure-league card at the same Item Score.

How do Gallery grades and Item Score actually work?

Completing a Set and grading a Set are two different things. EA: "You complete a Set by meeting its Player Item requirements. The Item Score of the Player Items in the Set determines its grade." Grades run D, C, B, A, S, and rewards are cumulative: "If you jump straight to S, you'll get all the rewards from the lower grades."

Per FUT.GG's captured FC 27 definitions the score has three layers: Base Grade (the sum of every Item Score), Bonus Grade (tag bonuses — TOTW is captured at 4% for 3–5 items, 8% for 6–9 and 15% for 10 or more), and Total Score, Base plus Bonus, which is what the letter grade is read off. EA has published neither an Item Score table nor the tag percentages, so treat those as community captures and use the Total Score readout on your own Set screen as the source of truth. Note also that the 3D Gallery Hub environment is limited to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch 2 — if you are on PS4, Xbox One or the original Switch and cannot find it, that is not a bug.

What should I do about the Gallery on launch day?

A short checklist for 25 September, in order:

  • Restart the client first. If TOTW 2 cards are still missing after launch day's patch cycle, call it a real bug rather than a cached catalogue.
  • Audit your Loan Items. Pre-order, Objective and Draft loans are dead weight for the Gallery. Play them, don't plan around them.
  • Stop evolving cards for score. Move any Evo plans onto players in your starting XI.
  • Pick your three highest-overlap Sets before spreading across the 126.
  • Run the buy-register-grade-sell loop on the cheapest eligible card that clears each grade threshold, not the best one.
  • Keep the packed copies — they carry First Owner; bought cards never do.

Launch day brings Destined for Glory and the Standard Edition population with it, so prices will move hard in both directions — our launch day checklist covers the first nine things to do when the full game goes live, and the launch-week market guide covers when the crash lands.

FAQ

Why are my TOTW 2 cards not showing in the FC 27 Gallery? Players on r/fut and EA's FC 27 Bug Reports forum have reported since 23 September that newly released week-two inform items and their Holographic versions fail to register, including cases where the game displays "Added to gallery" and the card still does not appear. EA has not acknowledged the issue and Title Update 1.0.1 does not list a fix. Restart the client, keep the card, and file a bug report.

Do Loan Items count toward FC 27 Gallery Sets? No. This is the one hard exclusion EA publishes: "Loan Items aren't eligible for the Gallery and don't count toward Gallery Sets." That covers loans from pre-order packs, Objectives and Draft rewards.

Does an Evolution upgrade raise a card's Gallery Item Score? No. EA states Evolution upgrades don't carry over and the card's Gallery entry stays based on the original version of the item. If you need the higher rating for a Set grade, you need an un-evolved copy at that rating.

Do I lose Gallery progress if I sell the player? No. EA confirms an eligible Player Item that has passed through your Club still counts after you sell it, and its FUT Deep Dive Pitch Notes extend that to items submitted into SBCs. Register the item in the Set first, then sell.

Can one card count toward several Gallery Sets? Yes — EA's FAQ confirms the same Player Item can be used in multiple Sets, and early-access players verified it in-game. With 126 Sets live, prioritise cards whose league, nation and club all have Sets attached.

Do untradeable SBC and Objective players count in the Gallery? Yes. EA's eligibility wording covers Packs, the Transfer Market, Objectives, SBCs and other Ultimate Team rewards with no tradeability condition attached — only Loan Items are excluded.
