FC 27 Ultimate Scream Token Store: Every Item Ranked (and Why Wicked Winger Is a Trap)

The FC 27 Ultimate Scream Token Store opened on Friday 23 October with 17 items, and buying everything at its purchase limit would cost 11,800 tokens. So far, the promo's objectives list 730. That gap is the whole story of this promo. EA SPORTS FC 27 put two Heroes, three Ultimate Scream players, two Evolutions, a guaranteed Team 1 pack and a stack of gold packs behind one event currency. The two Evolutions are the items Reddit is angriest about, and the data backs them up.

We pulled the full store feed from fut.gg's token store about eight hours after launch, read EA's Ultimate Scream article, and ran all 3,909 cards on fut.gg's Wicked Winger eligible list through that Evo's upgrade table. Here is what each item is worth and the order to buy in.

TLDR: FC 27 Ultimate Scream Token Store in 30 seconds. The store runs from 23 October, 17:00 UTC to 13 November, 17:59 UTC. 730 tokens are listed so far: 450 from the Phantom Playgrounds objectives and 280 from the Ultimate Scream Puzzle SBCs, which appear to be releasing across week 1. More come from Flash Rush (two events a week) and Ghoul Fest in week 2, but EA hasn't said how many. Buy first: Tverskov 83 for 50 tokens, which also qualifies you for the Spirit Harvest objective. Best value: El Mala 85 (300), Le Fée 86 (550) and Verón 87 Hero (900). Only if tokens allow: Jill Scott 87 Hero (1,500). Skip: Wicked Winger (900). It costs the same as Verón, and only 1,095 of 3,909 eligible cards can even reach its 85 cap. The Haunted Wall (500) tops out at 84.

What is the FC 27 Ultimate Scream Token Store?

It's the promo's own shop, paid for with a currency you can only earn from Ultimate Scream content. EA describes it like this: "Earn Ultimate Scream Tokens throughout the two terrifying weeks of Ultimate Scream by completing themed Objectives. Tokens can then be redeemed in the Token Store for various rewards including Token Store Ultimate Scream Heroes, Pack rewards, and Evolutions." (EA, Ultimate Scream)

The store outlasts the promo. EA: "The Ultimate Scream Store will remain open for an additional week after Ultimate Scream ends, extending the window to use any remaining Tokens." fut.gg's feed puts every shelf item's end time at 13 November, 17:59 UTC. That's three weeks from opening day.

It's FC 27's third token store, after Gallery Tokens and Champions Tokens. Like those, it sits outside coins and FC Points. You can't buy Scream Tokens directly.

What's in the store, and what does each item cost?

Seventeen items, straight from fut.gg's copy of the in-game store, pulled on 23 October:

Add up every item at its limit and you get 11,800 tokens. You won't clear this store on anything EA has confirmed so far. The real question is which 1,000 to 2,000 tokens' worth you take.

All five player items are flagged untradeable on fut.gg. The store only labels one pack "(Untradeable)", the Team 1 Guarantee Pack. The gold packs carry no such label, but EA hasn't confirmed what's inside them is tradeable. Check the pack description in-game before you buy one for coin value.

How do you earn Ultimate Scream Tokens?

So far there are two sources, worth 730 tokens together.

Phantom Playgrounds (450 tokens + 50 SP). These are seven objectives at 50 tokens each, plus 100 for finishing the group. Every one counts in Squad Battles on Semi-Pro or higher, or in Rivals, Live Events, Rush or Champions (fut.gg, Phantom Playgrounds):

• Spirit Harvest: score 50 goals with at least one Ultimate Scream player in your starting XI.
• The Red Countess: score a chip shot in 5 separate matches with a Hungarian player in your XI.
• Lost Your Head?: score 10 headers with a USA player in your XI.
• Grýla's Cauldron: win 13 matches with an Iceland player in your XI.
• Nessie's Deep Gift: assist with a through ball in 15 separate matches with a Scottish player in your XI.
• Tricks and Treats: score from outside the box in 10 separate matches with 4-star or better weak-foot players.
• Gulyabani's Wrath: play 7 matches with a Türkiye player in your XI.

Ultimate Scream Puzzle Completionist (280 tokens + 100 SP). Complete the six Halloween Puzzle SBCs (Hocus Pocus, Pumpkin Seeds, Freaky Zombie, Boo Hoo Party, Scary Candy, Spooky Nights) for 30 tokens each, plus 100 for the set (fut.gg, Puzzle Completionist). The objective group lists all six, but the SBCs themselves seem to be dropping one at a time (Spooky Nights was the day-one puzzle), so you may not be able to claim the full 280 yet.

Still to come. EA confirms that "Tokens will also be earnable through two Flash Rush events each week of Ultimate Scream", and that week 2's Ghoul Fest, where "offsides and fouls go unpunished", also pays Scream Tokens. EA hasn't published how many tokens either one gives. One early reply in the r/EASportsFC token shop thread put the promo total at "over 2,000" tokens. That's a community estimate, not an EA number, so plan around 730 and treat everything after it as a bonus.

Three objective tips from the first night in the Phantom Playgrounds thread (player reports, not EA guidance):

• Chip shots: players report that only a real lob over the keeper counts. Finesse-tapping into an open goal doesn't. Cutting across the keeper so they come out is the most-cited fix.
• Headers: 10 is the slow one for most people. Corners and crosses with a tall USA striker do it fastest. Our FC 27 corners guide covers the routines.
• Stack nations: one squad with a Hungarian, an American, an Icelander, a Scot and a Turk in the XI runs five objectives at once. Add one Ultimate Scream player and it runs six.

What should you buy first in the token store?

Jeppe Tverskov 83 for 50 tokens, the moment you have 50. He's the cheapest Ultimate Scream card in the store, and having him in your XI is the cheapest way to qualify for Spirit Harvest, which pays the 50 tokens back. He's a CB with CDM and CM alternate positions, 84 PHY and 81 DEF, so he's a usable card as well as a key. Clear Gulyabani's Wrath (7 matches, 50 tokens) or two Puzzle SBCs (30 each, 60 tokens) for the first 50, then buy him.

After that, here's all 17 items ranked by what they do for your club per token:

• Jeppe Tverskov 83 CB (50). Buy first, as above.
• Saïd El Mala 85 ST (300). 90 PAC, 85 SHO, 85 DRI, 4-star skills, with LM, CAM and LW alternates. It's the cheapest real attacker in the store.
• Enzo Le Fée 86 LM (550). 87 PAC, 88 DRI, 84 PAS, 4-star skills, with CM, CAM and LW alternates. He's the best all-round card under 900.
• Juan Sebastián Verón 87 Hero CAM (900). 86 SHO, 88 PAS, 86 DRI, 82 PHY, 4-star weak foot, plus CM. He's the best single item if your tokens reach 900.
• Jill Scott 87 Hero CB (1,500). 90 PHY, 85 DEF, 81 PAC, with CDM and CM alternates. She's strong, but she costs more than Verón and Le Fée combined (1,450).
• Ultimate Scream Team 1 Guarantee Pack (800). fut.gg lists 18 Ultimate Scream player items from 23 October, rated 83 to 90 (Raphinha 90 at the top). EA hasn't published the pack's pool or odds, and the store itself sells three of those 18 for 50 to 550. It's a gamble that only pays if you'd pull a top-five card.
• 3x 85+ Gold Players Pack (400, limit 3). SBC fodder. Buy it only after the players you want.
• 4x 84+ Gold Players Pack (400, limit 3). Same job, with one more card at a lower floor.
• 6x 82+ Gold Players Pack (200, limit 5). The best leftover-token sink.
• The Haunted Wall (500). See below. It's a good free-Evo shape at a token price.
• 10x 80+ Gold Players Pack (150, limit 10). Another leftover sink.
• 10x 75+ Gold Players Pack (100, limit 10). Only for your last 100 tokens.
• Wicked Winger (900). See below.
• Ultimate Scream cosmetic Evolution (100). It changes the card's look and nothing else.
• Retro 20 shell (100). EA says the retro shells are also in the regular Evolution Store.
• Retro 19 shell (100). Same as the Retro 20.
• Retro 17 shell (100). Same again. Don't spend scarce tokens on any of the four shells.

Ultimate Scream players also get a second life later. EA: "all Ultimate Scream Player Items will undergo a temporary transformation for one full week, starting November 24, 2026. This limited-time upgrade will boost a single face stat to 99 and reward the player with full in-position Chemistry". Tverskov, El Mala, Le Fée, Verón and Scott all carry the Ultimate Scream or Ultimate Scream Hero rarity. EA hasn't said whether cards that pick up the Scream design through an Evo also get the boost.

Is the Wicked Winger Evolution worth 900 tokens?

No, for almost everyone. It's priced the same as Verón, the best player in the store.

Here's what 900 tokens buys (fut.gg, Wicked Winger):

• Who qualifies: any card rated 82 or lower that can play RM or RW (not GK), with no more than 1 PlayStyle+, STR 80 or lower, PAC 90 or lower and DEF 70 or lower.
• 5 levels, 1 match each in Squad Battles on Semi-Pro or higher, or in Rush, Rivals, Champions or Live Events. Submit by 27 November, 18:00 UTC.
• Upgrades: +15 OVR (cap 85), +15 Acceleration and Sprint Speed (cap 87), +15 Dribbling, Agility, Ball Control and Curve (cap 84), +12 Finishing (cap 82), +1 skill move (cap 4), the Ultimate Scream design, and at level 5 your choice of Finesse Shot+, Quick Step+ or Technical+. The PlayStyle+ is capped at 1, so it only lands on a card that doesn't already have one. Every card on fut.gg's current eligible list has none.

The catch is that cap. A +15 boost capped at 85 only takes a card all the way if it starts at 70 or higher. We pulled fut.gg's eligible list at about 23:00 UTC on 23 October (3,909 items; the Evo page's live counter has since moved slightly) and applied the +15 to each card. 2,814 start below 70, so they can't reach the cap. Only 1,095 can finish at 85. Most of the pool is silver and bronze, which matters less if you already know which card you want to evolve.

Even the cards that hit 85 finish thin. Many stat caps sit below the overall, at 82, 80 or even 75 for Long Passing. fut.gg's evolved list shows 1,110 items at 85 (slightly more than the 1,095 base cards, because a few players appear in more than one version). Across those 1,110, the median card has PAC 87, DRI 83, SHO 79.5 and PAS 79. That's the "85 with the stats of an 80" the Wicked Winger thread is complaining about. One reply called it "pretty bad value compared to what else is on offer in the token store".

The one case for buying it: you have a favourite 80 to 82 club winger with no PlayStyle+ and want a quick five-match glow-up. The best finishers on fut.gg's list are Ángel Di María, Gabriel Martinelli, Rodrigo Zalazar and Ricardo Horta (all 82), Mohammed Kudus and Dejan Kulusevski (81), and Anis Hadj Moussa and Estêvão (80). For everyone else, Verón at the same 900 is simply a better card.

Is The Haunted Wall Evolution worth 500 tokens?

Only as a top-up for a specific midfielder. The Haunted Wall takes any outfield card (goalkeepers are excluded) rated 81 or lower with PAC 85 or lower and 7 or fewer PlayStyles (fut.gg, The Haunted Wall). fut.gg counts 16,434 eligible items.

• 4 levels, 1 match each. Submit by 27 November, 18:00 UTC.
• +8 OVR (cap 84), +1 weak foot (cap 3), +10 Standing Tackle and Strength (cap 85), +7 Interceptions and Defensive Awareness (cap 82), but Acceleration and Sprint Speed are capped at 78.
• Level 4: pick Bruiser, Intercept or Anticipate. It's a regular PlayStyle, not a PlayStyle+, and it only lands if the card holds fewer than 4.

The best results on fut.gg are 81-rated central midfielders who finish at 84 and rate best at CDM: Lewis Miley, Pascal Groß, Shea Charles, Nasser Al Dawsari and Annabel Schasching. That's a +3 for 500 tokens, when Le Fée costs 550. Only buy it after the players you want.

How should you spend 730, 1,300 or 2,000 tokens?

Don't rush the big buys. The store is open until 13 November and purchase limits are per club rather than a shared stock, so there's no race. Buy Tverskov now for Spirit Harvest. Then wait to see what week 2's Flash Rush and Ghoul Fest pay before you commit 900 or 1,500 to one card. Just don't hoard past the deadline. EA's help page on tokens says "You can spend them in the Token Store up until that store closes" (EA Help, Tokens). fut.gg's feed ends the Ultimate Scream Token currency itself at 13 November, 17:59:59 UTC, the same time as the store. Champions Tokens run until October 2027, but Scream Tokens don't carry over, so spend all of them, even on a 100-token pack.

Use the Scream players twice. EA's Ultimate Scream Gallery rewards vanity items for using Ultimate Scream players, and "Submit a Set of five or more players to earn Gallery Tokens." The store players are Ultimate Scream player items, so they should count toward that set, and the same tokens can feed your Gallery progress too.

What hasn't EA said yet?

• How many tokens Flash Rush and Ghoul Fest pay. Until EA or the in-game objectives show it, 730 is the only confirmed number.
• What's in the Team 1 Guarantee Pack. No pool or odds have been published.
• Whether the gold packs are tradeable. Only the Team 1 pack carries an "(Untradeable)" label in the store.
• Whether Evo-applied Scream designs get the 24 November Beaver Moon boost. EA's wording covers "Ultimate Scream Player Items".

FAQ

When does the FC 27 Ultimate Scream Token Store close? On 13 November at 17:59 UTC, per fut.gg's copy of the in-game store. EA says the store stays open for an extra week after the two-week promo ends.

How many Ultimate Scream Tokens can you get? 730 are listed so far: 450 from Phantom Playgrounds and 280 from the six Puzzle SBCs. Flash Rush (two events a week) and Ghoul Fest in week 2 add more, but EA hasn't published the amounts. The six Puzzle SBCs appear to release over week 1, so not all 280 may be claimable on day one.

Do unused Ultimate Scream Tokens carry over? No. fut.gg's copy of the in-game feed ends the Scream Token currency on 13 November at 17:59:59 UTC, alongside the store. Spend everything before then.

Can you buy Ultimate Scream Tokens with coins or FC Points? No. They only come from Ultimate Scream objectives and events. EA describes them as earned by completing themed objectives.

Is Verón or Wicked Winger better for 900 tokens? Verón, for nearly every club. He's an 87 Hero CAM with 88 PAS and 86 DRI. Wicked Winger caps at 85 with thin face stats, and only 1,095 of the 3,909 eligible cards on fut.gg reach that cap.

Are the Ultimate Scream store players tradeable? No. Tverskov, El Mala, Le Fée, Verón and Jill Scott are all marked untradeable, so you can't flip them for coins.

Do store players get the Beaver Moon upgrade? EA says all Ultimate Scream Player Items get one face stat boosted to 99 plus full in-position chemistry for one week from 24 November. The store players carry the Ultimate Scream rarity, so they're covered by that wording.
