Genshin Mavuika Build (7.1): Best Artifacts, Weapons, Teams and the 200 Fighting Spirit Rule

Mavuika, the five-star Pyro Claymore character and Pyro Archon from Genshin Impact, riding her Flamestrider in her official wish artwork

Quick answer. Mavuika is a 5-star Pyro Claymore character who works best as an on-field main DPS, though her Tap Skill also makes her a strong off-field Pyro applier. Build her with an ATK% or Elemental Mastery Sands, a Pyro DMG Goblet and a CRIT Circlet, and never build Energy Recharge, because her Burst runs on Fighting Spirit, not Energy. On-field, use 4-piece Obsidian Codex. Off-field, use 4-piece Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City. Her signature A Thousand Blazing Suns is best in slot by a wide margin. Level her Burst first, then her Skill. The single most important rule: Burst at 200 Fighting Spirit, not at 100. By our count, that makes her Burst hit about 40% bigger and doubles the damage buff her fourth Ascension Passive (A4) gives your active character. You cannot pull her right now: she is event-exclusive, her last banner ended on 30 June 2026, and she is not in either Version 7.1 selector.

This guide is current for Version 7.1, "A Rekviem for the Underworld", live since 23 September 2026. Talent numbers come from the in-game talent tables at level 10 and were checked on 18 October 2026.

Can you get Mavuika in Version 7.1?

No. Mavuika is event-exclusive, so she never drops from the Standard Wish. She has had three Character Event Wishes, all called "Ancient Flame Ablaze":

RunDatesVersionFeatured 4-stars
Debut1 to 21 January 20255.3Kachina, Bennett, Diona
Rerun 18 to 29 July 20255.7Iansan, Yaoyao, Xiangling
Rerun 29 to 30 June 2026Luna VIIMika, Xiangling, Bennett

We checked all 36 live in-game announcements on 18 October 2026, and Mavuika's name appears in none of them. Neither free 5-star offer includes her. The "Choose 1 of 8" in the Version 7.1 benefits (announcement 21923) offers Jean, Diluc, Qiqi, Mona, Tighnari, Keqing, Dehya and Yumemizuki Mizuki. The Tabletop Troupe invite (announcement 21924) offers Tartaglia, Nilou, Baizhu, Chiori, Clorinde and Varesa.

She also gets no Imaginarium Theater spotlight this version. Per the Version 7.1 Update Details (announcement 21946), the October season requires Hydro, Cryo and Anemo and the November season requires Hydro, Electro and Geo. Pyro is missing from both, and Mavuika is not an Opening Character or Special Guest Star in either. HoYoverse has not announced any Version 7.2 banners, so treat rerun claims as leaks until the official Special Program.

If you already own her, the rest of this page is your build. If you are saving for her, it tells you exactly what she needs on day one.

How does Mavuika's Fighting Spirit work?

Mavuika's Burst, Hour of Burning Skies, ignores Energy completely. The Genshin Impact Wiki's notes on her Burst put it plainly: "Fighting Spirit is not affected by Energy Recharge." Instead she fills a 200-point Fighting Spirit gauge and can Burst at 100 or more.

SourceFighting Spirit gained
Nightsoul points consumed by party members, in combat1 per point
Any party member's Normal Attack hitting an enemy1.5 per hit, once every 0.1s
Constellation 1All gains 25% more efficient

Nightsoul points come mainly from Natlan characters and the Pyro Traveler. That creates the arithmetic every Mavuika team is built around. By our count, a C0 Tap Skill drains her own 80 Nightsoul points into about 80 Fighting Spirit, which is 20 short of a Burst. Fourteen Normal Attack hits from anyone close that gap. To reach the full 200, you need another 120 points, which in practice means one or two Natlan teammates spending their own Nightsoul. Keqing Mains lists Mavuika's main drawback as needing "at minimum one other Natlan character, which severely restricts teambuilding."

At C1, her Nightsoul cap rises to 120 and the 25% efficiency bonus applies, so one Skill alone gives roughly 150 Fighting Spirit. That is why C1 is the constellation that changes how she plays.

Why should you Burst at 200 Fighting Spirit?

Every damage bonus in her Burst scales with the Fighting Spirit she holds when she casts it. Here is what that looks like at talent level 10:

Fighting Spirit at castSunfell Slice (Burst hit)Flamestrider Charged Attack (cyclic hit)Flamestrider Normal Attack 1-HitA4 DMG buff (active character)
1001,088.64% ATK297.5% ATK164.2% ATK20%
1501,232.64% ATK348.5% ATK189.7% ATK30%
2001,376.64% ATK399.5% ATK215.2% ATK40%

The base Burst hit is 800.64% ATK, plus 2.88% ATK per Fighting Spirit point. Her Flamestrider cyclic Charged Attack adds 1.02% ATK per point to a base of 195.5%, so a full gauge more than doubles that hit. Her fourth Ascension Passive (A4), "Kiongozi", grants the active character 0.2% DMG per point, capped at 40%. That cap lines up exactly with the 200-point gauge.

Put those together. Assume the only other DMG Bonus is a 46.6% Pyro Goblet and the 15% from 2-piece Obsidian Codex. A 200-point Burst then hits roughly 40% harder than a 100-point one.

The buff from "Kiongozi" lasts 20 seconds and decays to zero over that time. Constellation 4 stops the decay and adds a further 10%.

Is Mavuika better as main DPS or off-field?

Main DPS, if you have the team for it. Keqing Mains says "Mavuika shines primarily as an on-field DPS with her incredibly high yet easily accessible damage," and the numbers above explain why. Her Burst opens a 7-second "Crucible of Death and Life" window, with an 18-second cooldown. In that window she rides the Flamestrider, spends no Nightsoul, gains increased interruption resistance, and her Charged Attacks carry the Fighting Spirit bonus.

Off-field, her Tap Skill summons the Ring of Searing Radiance. It follows your active character and hits for 230.4% ATK every 2 seconds at talent level 10, about six hits per cast at C0. That is reliable Pyro application with no Energy Recharge requirement, which is why many players use her in place of Xiangling. She still Bursts for a big nuke and the "Kiongozi" buff whenever the team builds 100 Fighting Spirit.

Rule of thumb: if you own Citlali or Xilonen plus Bennett, play her on-field. If your main DPS is a Natlan character like Mualani, or a Cryo carry who wants Reverse Melt, play her off-field with Scroll.

What are the best artifacts for Mavuika?

SlotMain stat
SandsATK%, or Elemental Mastery in Melt and Vaporize teams
GobletPyro DMG Bonus
CircletCRIT Rate or CRIT DMG

Substat priority is CRIT, then Elemental Mastery (in Melt and Vaporize teams), then ATK%, then flat ATK. Aim for a 1:2 CRIT Rate to CRIT DMG ratio after counting the 40% CRIT Rate from 4-piece Obsidian Codex. That usually means a CRIT DMG Circlet and lower CRIT Rate on your substats than you would normally want. Keqing Mains is blunt about Energy: "Since Mavuika's Burst charges with Fighting Spirit rather than Energy, she should not build ER%."

On-field sets:

  • 4-piece Obsidian Codex (best). The 2-piece gives 15% DMG while she is on-field in Nightsoul's Blessing. The 4-piece gives 40% CRIT Rate for 6 seconds after she consumes a Nightsoul point on-field. Her Burst grants 10 Nightsoul points, so the opening hit is covered. One catch: the 6-second buff is shorter than her 7-second Burst window, so the last few hits can miss it.
  • 4-piece Marechaussee Hunter, the second-best choice in teams with Furina.
  • 4-piece Gilded Dreams, a placeholder for Melt and Vaporize while you farm Codex.
  • 2-piece combinations such as Pyro plus ATK%, or EM plus EM. These are fine while farming, and they beat an old Crimson Witch set with bad substats.

Off-field sets:

  • 4-piece Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City (best). After she triggers a Pyro reaction, the party gains 12% Elemental DMG for the elements involved. Because Mavuika is in Nightsoul's Blessing, they gain another 28% on top. Hand it to someone else only if a better holder, such as Xilonen, is in the team.
  • 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith or Instructor, if Scroll is already taken and her personal damage matters less.
  • 4-piece Deepwood Memories in Dendro-heavy Burning teams.

Both of her best sets drop from the Sanctum of Rainbow Spirits domain, so you can farm one domain for either playstyle.

What is the best weapon for Mavuika?

WeaponRarityWhy
A Thousand Blazing Suns5-starSignature. 741 base ATK. In Nightsoul's Blessing, R1 gives +35% CRIT DMG and +49% ATK
Verdict, Beacon of the Reed Sea, Redhorn Stonethresher5-starCRIT stat sticks that perform similarly
Serpent Spine4-starCompetes with 5-stars at high refinement, but only with a shielder
Talking Stick, Mailed Flower4-starBest 4-star picks without Serpent Spine; Mailed Flower adds EM for Melt
Tidal Shadow4-starBest free option if you lack Mailed Flower, in teams with a healer
Earth Shaker, Blackcliff Slasher4-starFallbacks for teams without Melt or Vaporize

Her signature's numbers are worth spelling out. Using a Skill or Burst grants "Scorching Brilliance": +20% CRIT DMG and +28% ATK at R1 for 6 seconds. While she is in Nightsoul's Blessing, both numbers rise by 75% and the buff stops ticking down when she is off-field. Her Skill and Burst both put her in that state. So in practice the R1 buff is +35% CRIT DMG and +49% ATK, and Elemental Normal or Charged Attacks extend it by up to 6 more seconds. Keqing Mains rates it as performing "significantly better than the alternatives."

Without the signature, the 5-star CRIT Claymores are close to each other, so use whichever you own. ATK-only 5-stars such as Wolf's Gravestone and The Unforged fall behind because they bring little or no CRIT.

What are Mavuika's best teams in 7.1?

One rule first. Mavuika's attacks are blunt, so never run Cryo and Hydro in the same Mavuika team. Her hits can Shatter a Frozen enemy and leave nothing to Melt or Vaporize. Pick one reaction and build around it.

1. Forward Melt (best): Mavuika, Citlali, Xilonen or Kazuha or Sucrose, Bennett. Citlali applies Cryo, shreds Pyro RES and feeds Fighting Spirit. Bennett gives the ATK buff. Xilonen fills the gauge fastest. Melting the Burst hit is critical, because Keqing Mains says it "makes up for around a third of her damage output."

2. Budget Forward Melt: Mavuika, Kachina or Iansan, C2+ Rosaria, Bennett. This is an all-4-star support line-up. Kachina only needs 4-piece Scroll.

3. Vaporize: Mavuika, Xilonen, Furina or Yelan, Bennett. Furina's Skill applies Hydro without Normal Attacks and her Burst ramps a team DMG buff. Our Genshin Furina build covers the HP and Energy Recharge she needs. If you run Yelan instead, build her Energy Recharge first.

4. Overloaded: Mavuika, Ororon, Chevreuse, Bennett or Iansan. Keqing Mains calls its combos "incredibly simple and straightforward", and it suits players without 5-star Natlan supports. Chevreuse only buffs all-Pyro-and-Electro teams, and Ororon fits because he applies Electro off-field while feeding Fighting Spirit as a Natlan unit.

Off-field Mavuika slots into Mualani Forward Vaporize (with Xilonen and Kazuha or Sucrose), Ganyu or Wriothesley Reverse Melt, and Electro teams. Keqing Mains rates Varesa and Clorinde as strong Electro partners for her Pyro and Scroll buff. See our Varesa build and Clorinde build. Escoffier also works as an off-field Cryo applier in Forward Melt; see our Escoffier build.

What talents and materials does Mavuika need?

Talent priority: Elemental Burst, then Elemental Skill. Skip her Normal Attack talent entirely. Her Flamestrider attacks scale off her Skill talent, not her Normal Attack.

The ascension column excludes character EXP materials and the Mora spent on levelling itself. Gold-Inscribed Secret Source Cores drop from the Lv. 30+ Secret Source Automaton: Configuration Device. Eroded Horn comes from the Lv. 70+ Lord of Eroded Primal Fire weekly boss. Contention books come from the Blazing Ruins domain on Monday, Thursday and Sunday. Levelling both the Burst and the Skill to 10 doubles the talent column: 3,305,000 Mora, 12 Eroded Horns and 2 Crowns.

Which Mavuika constellations are worth it?

  • C1, The Night-Lord's Explication. Her Nightsoul cap rises to 120, she gains Fighting Spirit 25% more efficiently, and she gets 40% ATK for 8 seconds after gaining Fighting Spirit. That lets her Burst every rotation from her own Skill. It is the biggest single upgrade.
  • C2, The Ashen Price. +200 Base ATK in Nightsoul's Blessing, plus 20% DEF shred from the Ring or extra damage on Flamestrider attacks. It is a massive jump in personal damage.
  • C3 and C5 add three levels to her Burst and Skill respectively.
  • C4, The Leader's Resolve. Her "Kiongozi" buff no longer decays and gains an extra 10%.
  • C6, "Humanity's Name" Unfettered. Adds Flamestrider crashes to the Ring and a Scorching Ring while she rides. Keqing Mains notes none of the added hits apply Pyro, so they do not disturb her reactions.

If you are spending, C1 or the signature weapon come first. C1 changes how often she can Burst at full Fighting Spirit; A Thousand Blazing Suns changes how hard every hit lands through CRIT DMG and ATK.

Is Mavuika good in the current Spiral Abyss?

She is usable but not favoured. The Spiral Abyss that reset on 16 October 2026 buffs Anemo and Cryo on Floor 11, and Stellar Glimmer plus Cryo on Floor 12 (announcement 21946). There is no Pyro bonus, and the blessing rewards Cryo reactions such as Frozen and Superconduct. A Forward Melt team can still work, and Citlali's Cryo damage does benefit from the Cryo bonuses. Just don't expect the floor to carry Mavuika herself. Our Spiral Abyss Floor 12 guide has the full enemy list.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should Mavuika use Energy Recharge? No. Her Burst uses Fighting Spirit instead of Energy, and Energy Recharge does not affect Fighting Spirit. Every ER substat on her is wasted. Put those rolls into CRIT, ATK% or Elemental Mastery instead.

Can Mavuika work without other Natlan characters? Yes, but she Bursts less often. Her own C0 Skill gives about 80 Fighting Spirit, and any party member's Normal Attacks add 1.5 per hit, so non-Natlan teams can reach 100. Reaching the 200 cap for her full damage realistically needs one or two Natlan teammates, or C1.

Is Obsidian Codex or Scroll better on Mavuika? Obsidian Codex if she is your on-field damage dealer. Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City if she is off-field enabling someone else, unless a teammate such as Xilonen already holds Scroll.

Should I level Mavuika's Skill or Burst first? Burst first. It holds her biggest hit and the Fighting Spirit scaling on her Flamestrider attacks. Raise her Skill next, and leave her Normal Attack talent at level 1.

When is Mavuika's next banner? HoYoverse has not announced one. Her last run, "Ancient Flame Ablaze", ended on 30 June 2026, and she is not on any Version 7.1 banner or selector. Watch the Version 7.2 Special Program for the next confirmed line-up.

Is Mavuika still worth building in Version 7.1? Yes, if you own her. She is a flexible Pyro unit that works as a main DPS, an off-field applier and a team buffer. She just has no spotlight in this version's Abyss or Imaginarium Theater, so she is not a reason to rush resin today.
