Genshin Furina Build in Version 7.1: Best Artifacts, Weapons, Teams and the ER Bracket That Picks Her Sword

Quick answer. Build Furina around Max HP and Energy Recharge, not ATK. Run 4-piece Golden Troupe with an HP% or ER% Sands, an HP% Goblet and a CRIT circlet, and push Max HP to 40,000 — the exact figure where her 4th Ascension Passive hits its published cap. Her weapon is decided by how many Hydro units are in the team, not by her constellation: in a solo-Hydro team she needs 200%+ Energy Recharge and Favonius Sword is the honest answer, while in a double or triple Hydro team the requirement collapses to 130–170% and her signature Splendor of Tranquil Waters wins. And the single most repeated number about her online — "Furina gives the party 28%" — is wrong. That 28% only touches her own summons.

Version 7.1 Phase 2 went live on 13 October 2026 at 18:00 server time, and it is a Cryo phase: Skirk and Escoffier are both rerunning until 3 November 2026 at 14:59 server time, per the in-game wish notices. Furina is not on either banner. She does not need to be — she is in the standard Freeze team for both of them, and the people pulling Skirk this week are the people searching for how to build the Hydro Archon they already own.

This guide is built from HoYoverse's own published talent, passive and constellation values rather than from a database page, so every multiplier below is the live Version 7.1 figure. Where the answer is a judgment call rather than a published number, it says so and names the source.

The Version 7.1 Phase 2 "Void Star's Advent" wish banner, live from 13 October 2026

What does Furina actually do?

Furina is a 5-star Hydro Sword character from the Court of Fontaine, released in Version 4.2. Her in-game birthday is 13 October — the same day Phase 2 opened this patch. Her ascension stat is CRIT Rate, topping out at +19.2% at maximum ascension, and her base HP at Level 90 is 15,307, with base ATK 244 and base DEF 696.

Everything she does scales off Max HP. Her Elemental Skill, Salon Solitaire, summons three Salon Members who attack off-field for a percentage of her Max HP, and her Elemental Burst, Let the People Rejoice, converts party HP movement into a party-wide damage buff.

The official skill text is explicit about the trade she makes:

"When they attack, if character(s) with more than 50% HP are nearby, the Members will increase their current attack's power based on the number of such characters, and consume said characters' HP. If the characters who meet these requirements are 1/2/3/4 (or more), the Members' attacks will deal 110%/120%/130%/140% of their original DMG."

That is the whole character in one paragraph. She drains your team to hit harder, and the drain is also what feeds her Burst buff. It is also why she is unplayable without a healer.

Is the "Furina gives 28%" number real?

No, and this is the most common error in Furina coverage.

Her 4th Ascension Passive, Unheard Confession, reads: every 1,000 points of Max HP increases Salon Member DMG by 0.7%, to a maximum of 28%, and decreases the Singer of Many Waters' healing interval by 0.4%, to a maximum of 16%.

The 28% applies to her own three summons and to nothing else. It is not a party buff. The party buff is the Burst, and at Talent Level 10 it reaches +75% at full Fanfare. Anyone quoting 28% as what Furina gives the team has conflated her passive with her Burst.

The practical half of that passive is a breakpoint nobody foregrounds. At 0.7% per 1,000 Max HP with a 28% ceiling, the passive maxes out at exactly 40,000 Max HP — and the healing-interval half, at 0.4% per 1,000 with a 16% ceiling, caps at the same 40,000. That arithmetic is ours, derived from the published passive text, not an official HoYoverse statement, but it gives you a single clean HP target: 40,000 Max HP finishes her passive. Past that, extra HP still scales her Skill damage, it just stops buying passive.

What are Furina's best artifacts?

4-piece Golden Troupe is the set to farm. Its published bonuses are +20% Elemental Skill DMG at 2 pieces, and at 4 pieces +25% Elemental Skill DMG plus a further +25% while the wearer is off-field, cleared 2 seconds after taking the field. Furina is off-field for essentially her whole rotation and almost all her damage is Skill damage, so she keeps the full stack permanently. It drops in Domain of Blessing: Denouncement of Sin.

KQM's quick guide is blunt about the alternatives: 4-piece Golden Troupe is "by far Furina's best set for her personal damage," while 4-piece Tenacity of the Millelith "effectively provides a permanent 20% ATK buff; however, it does greatly decrease Furina's damage output," and is recommended only "in teams where Furina's damage share is already low." Tenacity's published 4-piece effect is +20% ATK and +30% Shield Strength to nearby party members for 3s on Elemental Skill hit, and it does fire while she is off-field.

For stats, the priority is Energy Recharge until your requirement is met, then CRIT DMG and CRIT Rate, then HP%:

SlotMain stat
SandsHP% or ER%
GobletHP% over Hydro DMG Bonus
CircletCRIT Rate or CRIT DMG

The HP% Goblet beating a Hydro DMG Goblet surprises people. It is a consequence of her passive and of how much damage bonus she already receives from her own Burst — a second damage bonus has sharply diminishing value when you are already sitting on +75%.

Official HoYoverse art of Furina with her sword

Which weapon should Furina use?

This is the question the community and the theorycrafting sites appear to disagree about, and the disagreement is real but resolvable. Ask a Furina owner and you will be told her signature is Favonius Sword. Read KQM and you will find Favonius listed near the bottom, with the note that it "greatly decreases Furina's typically high personal damage output."

Both are correct, in different Energy Recharge brackets. KQM publishes the brackets:

Team shapeFurina's ER requirement
Solo Hydro200%+
Double Hydro, 1 teammate Skill180–210%
Double Hydro, 2 teammate Skills150–170%
Double Hydro with Neuvillette130–150%
Triple Hydro130–140%

Now put the two swords against those numbers. Splendor of Tranquil Waters, her signature, is a Level 90 sword with 542 base ATK and an 88.2% CRIT DMG substat, and at refinement 1 its passive grants +8% Elemental Skill DMG per stack of her own HP changing (3 stacks) and +14% Max HP per stack of other members' HP changing (2 stacks), all of it working off-field. It gives her zero Energy Recharge. Favonius Sword is a 4-star with 454 base ATK, a 61.3% Energy Recharge substat, and a passive that at R1 has a 60% chance on a CRIT hit to generate Elemental Particles worth 6 Energy, once every 12 seconds — rising to a guaranteed proc every 6 seconds at R5.

The decision rule falls straight out of that. In the 200%+ solo-Hydro bracket, Favonius alone contributes 61.3% from the substat before you count a single ER substat roll, and KQM notes that each Favonius proc lowers her requirement by a further 20–30%. There is no realistic substat distribution that gets a Splendor build to 200% without gutting her CRIT. In the 130–170% brackets, the maths reverses and the signature is comfortably better.

There is a neat interaction behind why Favonius is so reliable on her specifically: the passive needs CRIT hits, and Furina's ascension stat is CRIT Rate, +19.2% at max ascension. Even a pure support Furina with no CRIT circlet still crits often enough through her Salon Members to keep the proc running.

The rest of the list, in rough order: Key of Khaj-Nisut (542 ATK, 66.2% HP%) for a large HP and party Elemental Mastery contribution, Uraku Misugiri and Primordial Jade Cutter when her ER is already covered, Fleuve Cendre Ferryman (510 ATK, 45.9% ER) as the free option exchanged at the Fontaine Fishing Association, and Festering Desire for anyone who has kept it since Version 1.2.

Is C4 the constellation that matters?

The community rule of thumb — her signature only wins at C4 and above — has a mechanical basis that is worth spelling out, because C4 is an Energy constellation, not a damage one.

C4 restores 4 Energy whenever a Salon Member hits an opponent or the Singer heals the active character, once every 5 seconds. Her Salon lasts 30 seconds on a 20-second cooldown, so it is up continuously. On a typical 20-second rotation that is roughly three to four procs, or 12–16 of her 60 Energy generated for free — a fifth to a quarter of her Burst cost, paid without an ER substat. That is the per-rotation figure a C4 owner is actually cashing in when they drop Favonius for her signature. The 4-Energy-per-5s value is HoYoverse's published text; the per-rotation total is our arithmetic on a 20-second rotation and will shift with yours.

Furina's Animula Choragi constellation

The full ladder, as published:

  • C1 — Casting her Burst grants 150 Fanfare immediately and raises the Fanfare limit by 100, to 400.
  • C2 — Fanfare gain from party HP changes increases by 250%, and every point above the limit converts to +0.35% Max HP, up to +140%.
  • C3 — Burst level +3, to a maximum of 15.
  • C4 — The Energy constellation described above.
  • C5 — Skill level +3, to a maximum of 15.
  • C6 — "Center of Attention" for 10s on Skill cast: her Normal, Charged and Plunging Attacks convert to Hydro that cannot be overridden by another infusion and gain damage equal to 18% of her Max HP, with up to 6 triggers per instance.

C1 and C2 are the famous ones and they are worth it; C2 in particular turns her into a genuine damage threat by converting overflow Fanfare into up to +140% Max HP. C3 and C5 are talent levels. C6 changes her playstyle rather than improving the support build most people run.

What is Furina's best team in 7.1 Phase 2?

With Skirk and Escoffier both on banner until 3 November, the headline comp is the one KQM lists for Skirk Freeze:

Furina — Skirk — Shenhe / Yelan / Xingqiu — Escoffier

Furina's off-field Hydro keeps Skirk's Void Rift generation fed, Escoffier supplies a 55% Hydro and Cryo RES shred in teams built only from Hydro and Cryo units while healing enough to keep Fanfare stacking, and the flex slot is a real decision rather than a formality. The sample rotation KQM gives for the Shenhe version is: Furina Skill, dash, Burst, then Escoffier Skill and Burst, then Shenhe hold-Skill and Burst, then Skirk tap-Skill into her combo.

Here is the part that connects back to the weapon section. Shenhe is the strongest Cryo buffer in that slot, but she is Cryo — which leaves Furina as the only Hydro unit on the team, landing her squarely in the 200%+ ER bracket. Swapping Shenhe for Xingqiu or Yelan drops Furina into the 150–210% band and can free her signature sword. So the flex slot is not just "more Cryo buff versus more Hydro damage"; it also quietly decides which weapon Furina can afford to hold. If you are pulling Skirk this week and you own Splendor of Tranquil Waters, the Xingqiu or Yelan line-up is what lets you actually use it.

Other teammates worth knowing, all from KQM's notable-teammates list: Escoffier as the best teamwide healer option, Xilonen as a generalist with wide RES shred, Citlali for a shield plus 20% Hydro RES shred in Freeze, Kokomi and Charlotte as sustained team healers, and Bennett or Kuki Shinobu when their utility outweighs the lower Fanfare generation from single-target healing. Neuvillette and Clorinde are the two exceptions who can self-sustain enough to skip a dedicated healer — we covered that interaction in detail in our Neuvillette team guide.

A note on the sourcing: KQM's full Furina guide is still stamped "Updated for Version 5.3," while the quick guide is stamped "Updated for Version Luna II." Where they differ, the quick guide is the one that knows the current roster exists, and it is the one quoted throughout here.

What materials does Furina need?

Her ascension chain runs on Fontaine materials, all of them farmable without touching the Spiral Abyss.

MaterialTotal for Level 1 to 90Where it comes from
Mora410,000—
Varunada Lazurite (Sliver / Fragment / Chunk / Gemstone)1 / 9 / 9 / 6Crafting Bench conversion; check the Adventurer Handbook enemies tab for drops
Water That Failed To Transcend46Level 30+ Hydro Tulpas
Lakelight Lily168Fontaine local specialty, concentrated in Erinnyes Forest
Whopperflower / Shimmering / Energy Nectar18 / 30 / 36Whopperflowers

Talents are the expensive half. Taking one talent from Level 1 to Level 10 costs 1,652,500 Mora, 3 Teachings of Justice, 21 Guide to Justice, 38 Philosophies of Justice, 6 Whopperflower Nectar, 22 Shimmering Nectar, 31 Energy Nectar, 6 Lightless Mass and 1 Crown of Insight.

The two gates to plan around: the Justice books drop in Domain of Mastery: Admonishing Engraving on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday only, and Lightless Mass comes from the Level 70+ All-Devouring Narwhal weekly boss. Six Lightless Mass for a single talent means at least six weekly boss runs per talent, so if you are taking both her Burst and her Skill to 10, budget twelve. Crowns are the other hard limit — see our Crown of Insight guide for every current source.

KQM's talent priority is Burst at least equal to Skill, and Level 90 is strongly recommended because her Skill scales off Max HP. Her Normal Attacks can be left at Level 1 on a support build; even at C6, most of the enhanced Normal Attack damage scales independently of talent level.

Is Furina coming back on a banner soon?

Not in Version 7.1. The three live wish notices for Phase 2 feature Skirk on "Void Star's Advent," Escoffier on "La Chanson Cerise," with Dahlia, Candace and Mika as the shared 4-stars on both, and Azurelight plus Symphonist of Scents on Epitome Invocation. All three run from 13 October 2026 at 18:00 to 3 November 2026 at 14:59, server time. Furina appears on none of them.

For Version 7.2, HoYoverse has published nothing. As of 13 October 2026 there is no 7.2 entry in the in-game announcement list and no Special Program announcement on HoYoLAB's official news feeds, which means any 7.2 banner list you see this week is a leak, not a schedule. Our October 2026 banner schedule is updated as the first-party notices land.

FAQ

Do I need a healer to use Furina? Yes, with two exceptions. Her Salon Members drain the whole team and stop boosting their own damage once allies fall below 50% HP, so without healing she stacks almost no Fanfare and loses her Skill's damage multiplier as well. The exceptions are self-sustaining on-field carries like Neuvillette and Clorinde, who generate the HP movement themselves.

Is Favonius Sword really better than her signature? In a solo-Hydro team, usually yes — her requirement there is 200%+ Energy Recharge and Favonius supplies 61.3% from the substat before its procs, which KQM values at a further 20–30% off the requirement. In double or triple Hydro teams the requirement drops to 130–170% and Splendor of Tranquil Waters wins on raw output. The team shape decides it, not the constellation.

How much Max HP should I aim for? 40,000 is the clean target: it is the exact point where her 4th Ascension Passive hits both of its published caps, 28% Salon Member DMG and a 16% shorter Singer healing interval. More HP keeps scaling her Skill damage, it just stops improving the passive.

Does Furina work in a Cryo Freeze team if she is the only Hydro? Yes, and that is the standard Skirk comp. The cost is Energy: being the only Hydro unit puts her in the hardest Energy Recharge bracket in her whole kit. Build her for that first, then worry about CRIT.

Which talents should I level first? Burst first, then Skill, and leave Normal Attack alone. Her Burst is the party buff and her Skill is her personal damage; her Normal Attacks are not meaningful on a support build and barely matter even at C6.
